Disclaimer for ALL animes in case Mike does more: All anime characters think out loud. Plus when they’re thinking, time slows down so if they say “it’s too fast, I don’t have time to move” assume they don’t have time.
Many anime is adaptation of a manga, so many this characters talking loud for himself while all the action move too slow is actually a though on instance of action. On manga, since the pacing depend on reader, this work perfect, but on animation you can't put all freeze moment just for bubble thought, so this is the best adaptation that use.
It's so funny seeing someone who is not really familiar with anime react to it. We fans of it are so used to the slowing down of time in the midst of actions while characters have internal monologues that I never even thought of the fact that to others it may seem like they are just talking to each other while throwing fast punches lmao
@nicklaspedersen8264 Even in GL and BL romances and Shoujo Ai romances they always have to have those close-ups of the main character debating on if they love that other character or not. It's always been funny to me.

So fun fact about the first clip. The guy with the ponytail has marks under his eye and each mark will essentially prevent him from dying once, then it fades. When he gets punched, the hit is so strong it would've normally insta-killed him. The last punch was so strong it took out *two* marks. God I love Nanami
Dr stone in the final clip is when earth gets frozen in time and gets setback for thousands of years, the main characters retains all of his knoledge of science and tries to save the unexplained cavemen evolved people that live in this world
This is so wrong, the people gets frozen in stone, not the world is frozen. And the village people are descendants of early people that escaped from the stone-fication

Hajime no Ippo is such an INCREDIBLE anime. The fight scene shown here is definitely more on the "That seems like too much" because of the absurd circumstances leading up to it, but overall a lot of the anime isn't too crazy and it's incredibly hype. Definitely one of my all time favorites period.
So for the Dr.Stone part (the last one where you were confused)........these people were actually somehow turned into stone and then years went by and human technology and infrastructure....gone reduce to atoms. The "doctor" was the first one who was released from the stone so made his mission to bring back human inventions, technology and infrastructure. I hope that clears your confusion on "WHAT THE F*CK IS GOING ON??!!" Also love your vids. :)
For more direct context for what is happening. He found this village and heard that the priest(patient) was sick with something. So, not knowing what it is (like he could figure it out anyway). He was attaining materials to make a drug that would hopefully help. Whilst having no access to our modern tech. Note: the villagers wouldn’t let him in so he couldn’t even get any basic idea. He only knows because the sibling of the priest told him after he helped her getting unstuck from a fallen tree(they ran into the main antagonist). That they were sick.
Also Dr. stone is not actually a doctor. In fact, when he was frozen in stone, he was a high school student. A genius high school student but still a teenager.
1:00 Mike he isn't putting the tie around his knuckles to protect them but rather increase his cursed energy (cursed energy is the blue thingy) which inflicts more damage (the tie has cursed energy as well as the body so wrapping it on his wrist will add the bodies' cursed energy and ties cursed energy together)

The last anime is called "Dr stone", the story is set almost 4000 years after all humanity was petrified into stone. The main character, senku (that green hair guy) is one of the few human that woke up from his petrification. Being a genius science student, he used his extensive science knowledge to solve many problems that pre-historic (future?) human faced, while trying to save all other humans that were petrified. Thought a bit of context would help to clarify

Dr Mike "that is not how it works..." Dr. Mike still making accurate diagnoses even while watching anime. LMAO I just love how Dr. Mike gets so confused
Rule of thumb if you ever do another episode Mike, everything in anime is exaggerated by 10x. So when characters are having full on conversations in their heads and to each other, it's only like that so we can see what's happening. Also, some of these have characters with "magic" (that's the simplest way of explaining it) powers that allow them to do other worldly stuff. Which makes it entertaining.
2:20 i forget the term, but supposedly it's some warrior's mentality that time feels to slow for them. That's why they have awkwardly long inner monologue while doing one action. That one zombie fight in bleach TYBW explains it 😂

If Mike ever does a part two to this he NEEDS to react to some of The Promised Neverland’s injuries. Some of them get BRUTAL, and he probably wouldn’t take too kindly to Emma cutting her ear off and trying to brush it off as fine when she’s literally bleeding out 😅
In the first one, the guy getting beat up he has marks under his eyes, when a mark that disappears means he just survived dying by the end he lost three, Nanami’s punches would’ve killed him three times
13:57 Dr. Stone is an anime where people were set back to the" stone age". The doctor is from a modern time and had to make a Sulphur drug from scratch to help the girl. There was a lot taken out that explained the steps, but I'm curious if it's actually accurate
For anyone wondering the clip where the guy built like a brick wall is beating the other smaller guy, the smaller guys technique gives him those purple marks beneath his eyes and if he takes lethal damage the mark is used and he survives, and if you notice during the clip he is loosing marks from every hit.
The _Dodgeball_ quote is "dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge." He knows the evo-devo better than most doctors and is one of the most charismatic people on UA-cam. He could probably deconstruct half your theist viewers with a single interview.
So with Dr. Stone, all life, or just all human life, turned to stone, and thousands of years later, some of the stone people turned back to normal and Senkuu, the “Doctor”, literally is a scientist that brings the world back to normal through science.
for the doctor stone scene, those people now live in a world where they were brought back to using mud for houses and animals skin for clothing. they dont have access to medicine. the main character is really smart so he has to make the medicine from scratch
1:14 Nanami wrapping the tie around his hand is NOT to protect the hand from cuts. It is the same concept of gripping a lighter in a street fight. It engages the hand muscles and makes the punches feel more solid.
There is a comedy drama that would be great for you to review is a medical TV show called Doc Martin, he is a GP (family medicine Doctor) former surgeon who developed haemophobia, the show quite medically accurate, and to top it off it is hilarious
The Dr Stone part where he said “the bad genes get transferred to the good bacteria” is a thing. It’s called lateral gene transfer, which can be done by several methods. It’s kind of a rare event, but can and does transfer things like virulence or antibiotic resistance genes across strains or even distant species. One example is enterohemorrhagic E. coli strains, which obtained shiga toxin from another bacterial species.
0:32 fun fact, that blond kids technique gives him extra lives, and when he dies, one of the purple marks on his face disappears, and after every punch, one goes away, meaning every punch delivered was enough to kill him
The last one is from Dr Stone Humanity in a post apocalyptic world where one person possess a lot of knowledge from the world before its destruction and has to work with what they have to rebuild humanity and technology with science.
The first scene you showed: The blond haired man (Nanami) is actually killing the ponytail man with every punch he gives him. You can see the purple triangles in his face disappearing every time Nanami kicks/hits him, and kills him every time again.
Editor: should we ignore the subtitles when there's already one in the clip? Mike: just write something's like "John Doe speaks Japanese". How else would they know?
Maybe you could react to Osamu Tezuka's Black Jack sometime. It stars a brilliant yet mentally questionable surgeon known as Black Jack, who specializes in the riskiest of surgeries. Tezuka actually used his real life medical knowledge when writing it, as he earned a medical degree at one of the best medical schools in Japan (specifically Osaka).
"Whoever wrote this must have been tripping balls" I guarantee at least one person on that staff was ripping a bong, looked at it afterward and said "bruh, this is one longass beaker, I'm like a chemist hey", and bam, they had their anime idea
So because I am a weeb and I have very little to add, the two things I will add is a) the reason in fights everything is announced originated in manga so you could read what they did. And b)in the second anime, they weren't talking, when the captions are italics, it's the character's internal monologue.
LETSGOO HE TALKED ABOUT DR STONE!! There gotta be some context for that last scene, basically everyone on earth turned to stone one day and 3700 years later one guy named Senku (the dude with green hair) woke up from it after all traces of civilization is gone, he decides to rebuild everything and revive everyone from the stone. Eventually he finds a primitive village that doesn’t know anything about the old world, one of those people is sick and he’s determined to cure her. So the reason she’s not getting proper medicine is because it’s not available and Senku has to make it from scratch.
That animated soccer player also had a compressed knee joint fracture because I've had one. I know what they look like and how bad they hurt. I'm just lucky I didn't tear my ACL. That was seven of the longest weeks of my life.

It's not always an internal monologue. There are many examples of full blown dialogues in fights midswing.

One example is enterohemorrhagic E. coli strains, which obtained shiga toxin from another bacterial species.
12:01 you will be cheering non stop if you watch that anime 🤣🤣🤣
0:32 fun fact, that blond kids technique gives him extra lives, and when he dies, one of the purple marks on his face disappears, and after every punch, one goes away, meaning every punch delivered was enough to kill him
The last one is from Dr Stone
Humanity in a post apocalyptic world where one person possess a lot of knowledge from the world before its destruction and has to work with what they have to rebuild humanity and technology with science.
I'd love for Dr Mike to react to full Dr Stone episodes! Maybe clear some misunderstandings LOL
I like seeing Mike just describing these anime injurys
15:21 , I think I lost some braincells trying to understand whats happening
One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, and Baki, all in one video? Peak. Did you know Bungee Gum has the properties of both rubber and gum?
YES I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN DR. MIKE DID THE NANAMI SCENE YAYYY
"Whoever wrote this must have been tripping balls"
I guarantee at least one person on that staff was ripping a bong, looked at it afterward and said "bruh, this is one longass beaker, I'm like a chemist hey", and bam, they had their anime idea
10:08 she is the help😭😭
So because I am a weeb and I have very little to add, the two things I will add is a) the reason in fights everything is announced originated in manga so you could read what they did. And b)in the second anime, they weren't talking, when the captions are italics, it's the character's internal monologue.
Now i am loving you more because you’re frequently watching cartoons you are such a lovable person and also answer everything in a cartoons
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Medical Science as real in Anime as my name
There needs to be a whole episode on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure injuries alone, that show is insane.
