As a kickboxer that is planning to switch to boxing,my biggest fear is accidentally kicking because of muscle memory

@@whimsabo If a low kick is part of kickboxing, then definitely. I think a hard low kick is one of the best weapons in a street fight. Because your opponent will fall, be shocked by the pain and have problems getting back on his feet, if he manages it at all. And the risk of causing serious injury is much lower than hitting someone in the face.
And if he manages to get up again, you are in his head and he is extremely slow. And most likely he will not want to fight anymore, because he knows what will follow. And for quite a while he will think of you every time he takes a step😜.
@@whimsabo boxing is more reliable. If you're wearing jeans, you don't have ad much power. You could also slip and lose
@@whimsabo I'd say that low kicks are very powerful, safe to perform and don't require flexibility, also most people wouldn't know how to defend against them. But yes I would say kickboxing can be good for that because there are also punch to kick combos.

I’m training for a fight it would be great if you did a video on running… how much and how often we should do it etc.
I’m doing a 5k every day … sometimes more. Trying to build up the gas tank ⛽️

@@ophiolatreia93 look at how Michael Bisping trains his son. He makes him run up hill or basically run until there is nothing left to give, keep that up and you'll either improve or do yourself damage. Look into a personal trainer or physician who can help you achieve your goals in a healthy way for you.

One thing about fights that I despise is kickers this ain't no UFC it's boxing.

@@Tony_Jeffries yeah that’s very true. I did Muay Thai since I was 16 and it’s happened twice during sparring in boxing where I’ve put my guard up (while getting pummelled) and thrown an uppercut elbow. Totally unintentional, but sometimes your body just reacts.

i’ve done so much kickboxing/muay thai sparring compared to boxing sparring that when i box i still lift my front leg when i’m getting pressured

The craziest moment I saw was early 2000s, ESPN Friday night, on live TV this guy is upset after losing what he thought was an unfair decision. He goes over to his opponent, who was Richard "The Alien" Grant, and sucker punches him with his bare knuckles.
Can't remember the guy who threw the sucker punch. Probably for the better.

As a kickboxer the hardest part of training for the one time I did boxing was not kicking during training to make sure I didn't do it in the fight

Apologies if i misspell his name but Ricardo Myorga was one of the most entertaining fighters ive watched i remember Larry Merchant interviewing him after the fight and Ricardo lit up a cigarette. He quit smoking as he trained for the fight and he sure was happy to light up asap lmao

My trainer could perfectly talk to me while waggling the towel :) I just find the boxer's breathing strange, looks more like hyperventilating than like taking deep breaths

The kick I'm sure is from the legendry Riddick Bowe Tillery fight. One of hardest heavy weights ever (Bowe) but rarely remembered. Sure it was a late bell, followed by a late punch, before it all kicked off . All in round one

5:25 the boxing match with the kicks: that's Riddick Bowe vs Elijah Tillery. It was after the bell. Bowe threw a jab to provoke him, and Tillery started kicking him. As far as I could find, Tillery was always a boxer, he doesn't have a history of any kickboxing.

I have been practicing kickboxing for a long time, then I switched to boxing and whenever I am cornered I can't stop kicking them because I got used to it, any advice?
