    Omg .. your are speaking my entire experience right now😂😂 like the first exam I got a 62.5
    The second one we just had I focused more on diabetes didn’t look at anything else only for it to be like 3 questions on diabetes and scored a 60!!! But Yes I was upset initially but those two scores are enough to make me want to drop out like I’ve gone and met with my advisor I’ve been down to 2 study groups this week so I just look at it as fuel like OK you know what you did wrong now you know what to do right

    i have a bully in nursing school now just cause i’m friends with someone they fell out with (they were making fun of her grades). don’t be that person. please. i used to enjoy school and not have severe panic attacks to the point im shaking and crying and now need accommodation. we’re all studying to be nurses, you’d think being kind would be a given.

    Hey this was a really helpful and relatable video. I am very to my self in my cohort because I started in a different cohort and after failing one class I was put back a semester. I did have a really close friend who failed with me but I found out she was secretly competing with me. She was always hoping that she would do better than me and I finally realized. When she did great I would cheer for her even if I didn’t do as well but when I did well she didn’t keep the same energy and I would feel like I couldn’t be happy because I didn’t want to make her feel bad for not doing well.
    That’s why I choose to stay to myself now.

    a real testament to the power of determination because to say that the struggle is real is an understatement like nobody tells you about all the skills validations that you have to pass and you have to pass med Calc and you have to get a certain percentage and stay at a certain percentage on your exams and you get a certain score for clinicals like it’s it’s a lot.. we have three people that have already dropped out one was for personal reasons I don’t know why the other two dropped out but it is harder and harder especially when your somebody like me that does not have a health care background and I don’t work in healthcare so I don’t have that so I don’t have that to my advantage

  • @heather8643

    Omg . I’m a freshman nursing student . I’ve passed all validations but 2 I have to redo them this Monday and start clinical the very next day. My clinical group is all female and we all said we are not going to let each other fall. We will pull each other up.
    But you are very true with the first one about competition …I met a girl who is an LPN ..she works in the labor and delivery at a local hospital and she already went to the Director of nursing and asked could she just test out because every single day she’s always talking about how it’s so boring like if people say they don’t understand something that I wish you could see the facial expressions this girl has she be like “what’s so hard to understand I don’t understand how you’re not getting it”and I’m just like girl everybody don’t learn at the same speed.

      yess exactly everyone is different. Everyone have different learning styles, and I wish I would’ve mentioned this in my video too!! 😅 the girl is definitely like to tussle in nursing school, but don’t let that deter you from your goal of becoming a nurse. We got this!! 👏🏽🥰

    I dunno about the grading. I hear you but it’s unfair to be like, the passing grade is nothing to cry about. I was crying about my test grade and although it was passing, I could see a steady decline in grades. I can still remember crying and telling her I didn’t even know why I was crying, because I passed but somehow I just didn’t like the trend that was happening. The next test… I failed. As we were doing my test review for this particular test, I uncovered one study strategy I had somehow gotten away from. Once I reincorporated studying our PowerPoint slides, I passed my upcoming test and continued to do so throughout the semester. Just because a person is passing doesn’t make it less as important as one who is failing because at the end of the day, we’re both busting our butts to understand and retain information. When you feel that you’ve done all you can, and still fall short, it’s a shock to the system and a hurting feeling. It’s not about the grade it’s about your effort and feeling like you’re still not doing enough or good enough . 🥺Nursing school really does bring out an all time stress.
    The rest of your vid I rock with 😊❤

      Hey girl, I completely understand where you’re coming from and you’re right no matter what we get at the end of the day we’re all working hard to become nurses. And yes study the PowerPoints!!! Hi
    I am trying to decide if I can handle nursing program. Can you tell me if the nursing program is harder or the prerequisites are harder?

    • @pinkmachete477
      @pinkmachete477 2 роки тому +12

      Nursing school is definitely harder than the prerequisites. The biggest difference between preReqs and actual nursing courses is…. *drum roll please* the test questions.
      I urge everyone to practice NCLEX style before starting nursing school and of course, while you’re in nursing school.
      Nursing school is all about APPLICATION… not memory.

    • @kopamine
      @kopamine  2 роки тому +3

      Hi SD 👋🏽
      in my opinion, the prerequisites are easier. prereques are basic classes like Psych, English Math, etc. You can pass these classes w “filler” grades such as projects and papers. and you can fail a few grades and have the possibility of passing. Late work is acceptable (depending on your instructor)
      The actual nursing program is harder to stay in you can make no less than an 80 as an overall avg. Late work is not accepted. And most importantly, the test questions are a lot harder, definitely critical thinking skills come into play. You can have one test question and all four answer choices be correct, but it’s up to you to choose THE MOST CORRECT.
      hopefully this gives you some perspective, but don’t get discouraged you can do this!! 💪🏽🥰🥰

  • @amberice7383

    That's crazy. We had to score 85 and over, otherwise that was a failing grade and we could get kicked out of the nursing program.
