How I fixed the mill. Sorry I don't think I explained it properly in the video. I reset all the guides and the tension of the blade. Then the mill started cutting straight. Yeah this was a huge build and edit. I had been working on it since January. Thats really cool that you want to build your own trails. Trail builders are the real heroes of the MTB world. Without them we would have nothinng to ride.
Stoked you found my channel and are enjoying it. I'm sure you could ride the wooden berm. Thats the easy part, it just feels natural. The drop before it is the tricky part. I may have to get creative to make a b-line somehow.
Currently recovering from a broken collarbone so I'm out of action for a couple months but have been binging your videos. They're making me very keen to get back out on the bike and build some stuff for myself. I would be really interested to see a top to bottom run on all of the different trails or some kind of trail tour so I can wrap my head around what you've got going on across all the builds. Keep up the good work. Cheers
Ah crap, what happened to your collarbone? Really cool to hear you have been binging all of my videos. I only have the one trail at the moment and it's taking ages to finish because I have started building bigger and bigger features lol. At the end of last year I put together a trail tour video for bikes online. It has a top to bottom run and should give you a pretty good idea of the trail so far. ua-cam.com/video/9P2CH4PNaqQ/v-deo.html
@@cutlaps I crashed on my road bike unfortunately. Boring flat piece of road too. Wish I could say it was doing something cooler lol. Trail looks good - looking forward to the next build(s).
I know this is an old video, but I’m a woodworker and a mountain biker. I’m a huge fan and I’m normally not a fanboy of anybody. You rock brother this was a great build and you show true moral character by doing what you’re doing.
Awesome vid! Well worth the wait Just looking through, and the fact that you take the time to respond to almost every comment really shows that you care about the community you’re producing for. Keep it up!
Thanks Daniel! It's amazing that so many people leave awesome comments on my videos. I like to read every single one and try to respond to all. @cutlaps nope, I'm the Patrick Williams from Vernon BC Canada. Keep the videos coming, I'm really enjoying the build and biking aspect of your channel!!
Gotta love it. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time. The way your shoot these works so we’ll to create context and a story, we’ll done man.
Thanks Christian, really pleased you enjoyed it. Just wish I could make them a bit quicker but theres so much time involved to get the high quality. I think it's worth it though. Cheers
Dude I am excited for it as well. Not sure what it's going to be yet because you have way more speed than I was expecting. Probably end up using lots of wood again haha.
Mate this build AND video is next level! Just sliced off the tip of my thumb and still stayed hoooked! Steves twisting lever was a brilliant idea. I just want to cut some nice planks! Laps too..
wow ive been getting into mountain biking lately and you just brought up my main hobby, Roller coasters!, El toro is an AWESOME ride and its my second favorite wooden rollercoaster right behind the Voyage at Holiday world in Indiana which is also just my favorite coaster of all time ot of 337 coasters so far.
Dude thats so cool. I have always loved roller coasters. Growing up in Australia I didn't have access to very many and was always googling what was going on in the states. I rememeber when Voyage at Holiday world first opened. Looked so smooth and epic. Australia has some decent coasters being built now but nowhere near me.
@@cutlaps yeah Australia was pretty late to the rollercoaster game but it's getting there. Sometime soon I do want to make it over there and check out rides like DC rivals and leviathan. Those rides look awesome.
I'm still a MTB beginner so I don't think I'd be able to ride your trail, but it looks absolutely amazing. I also really like the beauty shots you do in between commentary. I'm looking forward to your next video, keep up the good work😊
Awesome glad you are enjoying the videos. How long have you been riding for. With a bit more practice I'm sure you will be able to ride a trail like mine one day.
Mate, really enjoying your channel, easy to watch and your interaction with the camera is professional, a lot of tubers struggle with the talking side, this is what makes me enjoy watching your stuff, anyway keep shredding and building your trail, looks like a tonne o’ fun YEEEEEEEEW🤘🏻
Thank you mate!! Thats really nice to hear, because it is tough talking to the camera, but I understand how important it is, so I have been pushing to be better with every video. Cheers!
He’s back! Another outstanding video. Thanks for all your hard work, this content is soooo good! This video had a great story, I loved all the side details, animals, humor, key learnings from the saw mill and build insights. That’s awesome to see your dad out riding. Go Luke’s dad! Admittedly I laughed hard when you butt slapped the berm. Ouch!!!! Most entertaining UA-cam video yet! Great work!!!! Thanks for the Patreon shoutout, that’s cool of you, we all want to support this great channel.
Stoked you enjoyed this one. It must have been cool to watch after seeing all the background details on petreon. Dad's been out on the bike a bit more recently which is cool. And yeah that butt slam hurt haha. Jared my back a little but the worst was actually my foot. I couldn't walk on it by the end of the day and had to keep it elevated. Worth it though because I think it makes for an interesting opener lol. Thanks again for your support!
@@cutlaps yeah the Patreon content helped me gauge this one was going to take longer and fun to discuss ideas. The crashes both make for good content. Bummer about the foot. That berm turned out awesome!
As a chippy and a mountain biker (very average one) I love this content especially the pure honesty and hard work that goes into the trail and video it's self, keep it up mate 👍
Thanks Graham. Thats cool to hear from a chippy because I'm sure my wood work skills are pretty average haha. It turned out great though. Cheers for watching.
I was getting worried about you because I had not seen a new video for a while. I can see that you have been busy! That is AWESOME!!! I wish I had a trail like yours in my back yard. :)
Thats great to hear you watched all 3. It was really cool to see their videos and how they told the story. Great time having them ride the trail with me. Thanks for watching.
That is very cool to hear. I love the idea that people can find it interesting without even riding. I have a great time getting creative with what nature offers on the trail. How did you find my channel if you don't mind me asking?
Have only just come across you channel mate. Pretty good build, need to go back and see the whole trail from the start. Can't wait to see how this trail further develops
Thanks mate. I hope you enjoy the earlier videos as well. It's pretty funny to see all the way back at the beginning, building small features. They just kept getting bigger and bigger.
Thanks mate. Make sure you hit that bell icon so UA-cam notifies you when I upload the next video. I think I'm going to continue this roller coaster! I need a lot more wood.
Yeah I hadn't ridden much wooden features and was always jealous of the videos on UA-cam so I decided to make some of my own. Glad I did because they are fun to build and ride. Thanks for watching.
Dude thats so cool to hear you binged all the videos so far. Its funny to see my hair grow as the time goes by 😂. Stoked you found my channel! Thanks for watching.
It is a lot of work but I do enjoy adding all of those little animations. I think the end result is awesome. Thank you for watching and appreciating all of the hard work that goes into my videos.
I use Premiere for all the basic editing but overlays I do in After Effects. Much easier to track them to the motion. And then I also do some frame by frame drawing animation in Procreate on my Ipad.
Most certainly worth the wait, that berm came out so well. Serious props on planning it out and getting just right, you can carry so much speed coming off that. You should be looking a setting up a monster hip after that. Keep up the great work and the sickness,
A monster hip would be awesome! But my riding skills are so limited haha. I spend so much time building and not enough riding that my jumping skills still havent progressed. I do have a plan for the episode after next that should have a good jump for progression. Theres the perfect section of trail coming up and I'm pretty excited to build it.
Thanks mate! Yeah the time on this one was a bit insane haha. The edit alone took 80 hours and then I was out in the bush milling and building for about a month.
Hahah well I hope it was up to expectations! This was a monster build that started months ago. Hopefully the next one isn't as big but I cant make any promises haha
Yeah it was great to have Dave and Carl to test it with me. They were shredding. Check out their youtube channels to see some of their other videos. Thanks for watching.
First time I’ve watched this channel. Amazing!! So cool watching you mill your own lumber for this project. I live on the Big Island, Hawaii and own a sawmill. It looks like you got the mill to cut straight again. You probably figured it out, but drive belt tension is really important. As soon as I start cutting wonkey, I check the sharpness of my blade, and if a new blade doesn’t help it’s the belt tension. Rad to see your course🤙🏽
Cool thanks for the advice. I did end up tightening the tension and the guides were also way off. Iv'e never used a mill before so I am learning lots of these small things. Great to be able to mill my own timber though. Very cool that you are watching all the way from Hawaii. I had a great holiday there many years ago.
Awesome feature! Although it would be cool to have it a compound curve as you get into the Apex. Meaning put a second tier vertically above your diagonal slats. That’s giving you a “wall ride“. I built a 360 berm with a jump on the entrance And it to is not high enough to jump over the rider exiting, so they can stall if they see a jumper coming down the trail and not get their head taken off. I believe on yours, you should lower the tread if possible, and then raise your launch to make it, so you can clear the rider entering the 360 berm, because you cannot slow down there if someone’s gonna take your head off. I do so love your videos and have missed them for the last while. Glad to see you’re back!
That is a cool idea! I had thought about doing that but I wasn't sure if there would be enough speed for it, not to mention the amount of wood required. I would hav been out there for another few months haha. I think I will do something like that a bit further down the trail. And yeah I know what you mean about the dunny drop. It would be cool to have it so you can jump over another rider. But I'm not sure if I can do it in the tight space. It probably a bit easier to see when you are actually at the trail, but it will be hard to lower it enough for clearance and then also hard to make it taller because of the speed required for the gap. I will have to work something out if I keep having friends down. Or someone will lose a head lol. Thank you for watching and your comment.
Thanks for the conversions. Not that I dont know what 2m is approx, but still. Also, you’ve inspired me to continue work on my track. I’m all flat terrain here, so I do rock gardens and small obstacles for my boys (8,7,7, yes twins… lol) to ride on. Thanks for the inspiration! Keep it up brother! Blessings from Minnesota!
No worries. I have viewers all over the world so I try to make it as easy as possible for them to follow. Very cool you are building your own trail. I'm sure there are lots of fun features you can build on the flat. Really stoked you are enjoying my videos thank you for watching!

Thanks mate! Iv'e been checking up on your channel to see when your next build was happening. Hope you can get out there soon.
Mate you get me so hyped up to ride everything I watch your progress, massive effort, outstanding result... well done...
Thats awesome! This was a huge build but so worth it. Currently collecting enough wood to build the next part!
I could never imagine riding things like this as a mostly XC rider. Saying that, one can only dream. New to your channel but love watching the videos!
Thank you so much for your comment dude. It means a lot. I need to mill a lot more wood to continue this beast of a feature. It's still not finished.
Can't wait to see this trail finished with all the jumps and modules!!
Neither can I... at this rate I will be here for years haha. It's already so much fun to ride.
Awesome vid! Well worth the wait
Just looking through, and the fact that you take the time to respond to almost every comment really shows that you care about the community you’re producing for. Keep it up!
Thanks Daniel! It's amazing that so many people leave awesome comments on my videos. I like to read every single one and try to respond to all. Without my community there wouldn't be any point of making these videos. I appreciate each and every one. Really pleased you enjoyed this build! Thanks for watching.
You put so much efford in these videos! If you ever get the attention you deserve, I can say that I knew you before.
Man, I knew it was gonna be massive but when you got it all trimmed up and finished. It really showed how MASSIVE this thing was!
And its going to get even longer in the next few months.
Such an awesome berm, great work! I still can't believe you milled all of your on lumber for it and everything!! Nicely done
Thanks Patrick, you wouldn't happen to be Patrick Williams from Bayley St? And yeah it took a while to mill all the wood but well worth the effort.
@cutlaps nope, I'm the Patrick Williams from Vernon BC Canada. Keep the videos coming, I'm really enjoying the build and biking aspect of your channel!!
@@patrickwilliams6594 Hah ok. I lived next door to a guy with the same name for many years. Stoked you are enjoying my videos. Thanks for watching.
massive accomplishment completing this insane build, well done looking and forward to seeing future projects!
Thanks mate! Yeah this was a huge one. I'm really keen to continue the roller coaster and make it bigger.
Cheers
That looks so cool. My local trail centre keeps returning wooden features due to rot.
Great to see some of the wildlife too
This wood is rot resistant but it won't last forever. I really need to be careful it doesn't get eaten by termites.
Great work as usual mate! Informative, funny, quality building and MTB - the recipe for a viral video if I've ever seen one!
Fingers crossed!!!
Just came across your stuff today! love it! Glad to be along for the ride.
Awesome! Welcome to my channel. Hope you enjoy it.
Nice! I'm glad to have found another build channel. That berm is so sick!
Awesome. Stoked you found my channel as well. Thanks for leaving a comment.
Clearly putting a lot of thought and effort into both the features, and also the video. Great content… cheers
Very cool that you notice all the hard work that goes into each video. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. It means a lot.
What a result for your hard work, long live the “Bush Beast”!!!
Top effort mate
Thanks mate!!! I need to finish this build and continue the Bush Beast!
Your content is as good as bc pov or berm peak so keep it up dude
Wow that is a huge compliment! I love both of their channels and try really hard to make quality content like them. Thank you
It looks really fun
Thank you! Yeah it is a pretty fun trail.
That’s incredible. Nice work!
Thank you so much. A lot of work went into this build and video but its been so worth it.
Great work Luke. That was such a great build. I cannot wait to see the next section. 🤙
Laps too..
Haha what did you do to your thumb mate? Better get that checked. Come cut a few laps and smash some hot zas
wow ive been getting into mountain biking lately and you just brought up my main hobby, Roller coasters!, El toro is an AWESOME ride and its my second favorite wooden rollercoaster right behind the Voyage at Holiday world in Indiana which is also just my favorite coaster of all time ot of 337 coasters so far.
Mate, really enjoying your channel, easy to watch and your interaction with the camera is professional, a lot of tubers struggle with the talking side, this is what makes me enjoy watching your stuff, anyway keep shredding and building your trail, looks like a tonne o’ fun
YEEEEEEEEW🤘🏻
Thanks Thomas, yeah this was a big build and kept me busy for months! Stoked you like it and I am so lucky to have a trail like this.
Such excellent story telling my dude!!!!!! A Visual feast and an excellent watch. Well done man
Hell yeah Jangles! Thanks for checking it out. This was a huge build and edit but I am really stoked with it.
Great content I watched all 3 of the channels tonight and really enjoyed it. You all put a slightly different spin on your stories and the weekend.
Thats great to hear you watched all 3. It was really cool to see their videos and how they told the story. Great time having them ride the trail with me. Thanks for watching.
I don't ride but enjoy your craftsmanship and the fact its out in nature just amazing using what the bush offers
That is very cool to hear. I love the idea that people can find it interesting without even riding. I have a great time getting creative with what nature offers on the trail. How did you find my channel if you don't mind me asking?
That mill is epic. I’m so jealous of all your toys. Great video again.
Haha yeah I'm pretty stoked with the purchase. I just have to eat 2 min noodles every meal for the next few years 😂
Have only just come across you channel mate. Pretty good build, need to go back and see the whole trail from the start. Can't wait to see how this trail further develops
Thanks mate. I hope you enjoy the earlier videos as well. It's pretty funny to see all the way back at the beginning, building small features. They just kept getting bigger and bigger.
Great build. Realy want to see more of this. Keep up the good work
Thanks mate. Make sure you hit that bell icon so UA-cam notifies you when I upload the next video. I think I'm going to continue this roller coaster! I need a lot more wood.
All these wooden features are so cool! I gotta try and build some things like this.
Yeah I hadn't ridden much wooden features and was always jealous of the videos on UA-cam so I decided to make some of my own. Glad I did because they are fun to build and ride. Thanks for watching.
God damn that looks fun, great job on the build, that would of taken so much effort!
It was months in the making but well worth it. And so cool to see everyone enjoying it! Thanks for watching.
My day just got 3x better when I saw this pop up in my subscriptions
Hahaha glad to make your day better mate!
Just came across your channel on instagram and now watched all your videos in the last few hours from the start, your smashing this build keep it up 👊
Dude thats so cool to hear you binged all the videos so far. Its funny to see my hair grow as the time goes by 😂. Stoked you found my channel! Thanks for watching.
These videos are such high quality nobody understands how hard it is to edit even to put in the little fun fact side cards, nice work man.
It is a lot of work but I do enjoy adding all of those little animations. I think the end result is awesome. Thank you for watching and appreciating all of the hard work that goes into my videos.
@@cutlaps oh yeah man you killing it, do you use premiere because the titles of the instagram handles looked awesome how they were key framed.
Great trail, excellent video production and what a fine fine host. Keep it up!
Hahaha thank you so much. Stoked you enjoyed it.
Kudos from a Philippines and Australia based MTBer 🤘
Yeah dude!! Thank you
Hats off to you mate! Awesome work. I can't imagine how much time goes into the building, filming and editing of these!
Thanks mate! Yeah the time on this one was a bit insane haha. The edit alone took 80 hours and then I was out in the bush milling and building for about a month.
Great video as always, the Dunny Drop going into the Bush Beast is an amazing combo, hopefully this video goes as viral as your last one!
Such a great combo! Hopefully I can keep that fun fast flow going. Thanks for watching.
FINALLY!!!!!! I’ve bin waiting for another upload for SO LONG! I love your videos dude keep it up!
Hahah well I hope it was up to expectations! This was a monster build that started months ago. Hopefully the next one isn't as big but I cant make any promises haha
Awesome channel. Fresh ideas. Great seeing trails in this beautiful Aussie setting
Thanks mate! I'm lucky to be able to build in this beautiful bushland!
What an epic build! great to see older guys testing features.
Yeah it was great to have Dave and Carl to test it with me. They were shredding. Check out their youtube channels to see some of their other videos. Thanks for watching.
That is one awesome berm/wall ride. Keep up the good work.
Cheers mate! Really stoked with how it turned out.
Definitely a sick feature mate 🤟
Thank you!! Really stoked with this one. 🤘
That’s the beauty of UA-cam, getting connected world wide. Looking forward to the next video 🤙🏽
What an awesome feature! Well done. Your videos are always great to watch ❤
Awesome! Thank you, glad you enjoy them.
Your cinematography is equally as outstanding as the feature.
Thanks mate, I do enjoy getting creative with the camera as well as the trail.
I love how the chainsaw harmonized with the music. The quality of your videos is realy good. Keep it up!
The chainsaw... my favourite musical instrument lol. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Stoked to see another vid. This section looks sick. Great name for the wall ride too
How well does the berm flow right after the dunny drop! So much fun to ride.
You have earned by subscription my man! Your video quality and dedication are unmatched. Keep up the good work!
Awesome thank you so much dude. Stoked you enjoyed the video and subscribed.
Waited a while for the next vid, but it was worth the wait! So good! Thanks for all the effort mate - looking forward to where you take it next.
Cheers dude! I'm in the planning stages of what to build next. I think I want to keep this rolleroaster feeling going!
Love the new sawmill. Looks like a fun toy and very useful tool. Great vid!
Yeah I think it's a great addition. Means I can build a lot more with wood. Thanks for watching.
Great video
Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed it
Great channel! It just popped up on my feed and I really like it. Great quality content and nice illustrations / animations. Keep up the good work mate!
Very cool. Glad youtube dropped it into your feed. Hope you enjoy some of the other videos as well. Thanks for watching.
Wow! I’ve been waiting for this video and it was definitely worth the wait, by far your best video yet! Great build 👍🏼
Thats what I like to hear! Yeiwww thanks so much
