Thank you very much, once again I am very honored to have said yes to get your bike. I am the organizer of the food and drink part of the opening ceremony for the public, it has already traveled more than 200 km around the stage during the ceremony! (it is a little big for me) I admit I did not understand directly what you were getting at when you approached me in the street but it is a great experience Congratulations for your story, I will give you news of the bike soon!
This is awesome! I did a similar thing once in Edmonton giving away my facebook bike I used for a couple weeks. I often wonder if the young woman got good use from it!
This is one of those random YT recommendations that you get once a year that was really worth watching every single second of. A massive well done from me. Word of advice though: Never, ever - under any circumstances - use Google to guide you when riding a bike! Not only did I get fed up with it sending me down unridable tracks through forests, it once sent me onto a motorway despite being told I'm on a bike. Haven't used it since. Google hates cyclists.
Cycle.travel is my favourite: it plots really good quality routes, preferring cycle paths and low-traffic roads, and the app gives you turn-by-turn directions just like Google Maps.
it would be awesome to mail (yeah that paper thing) the old man you got the bike from, to show him your adventure, the route you took, the landmark you have seen, and that you've been able to find the bike a new owner !
this was such a joy to watch! so wholesome and exceptionally shot. I hope you and Jean Marc stayed in touch! also loved the use of Ride. I hope you have another ride planned soon - greetings from the US!
Man on a solo journey, found another man on his journey, they found a fish, men happy, men continued the journey and made someone else happy. Worth the like.
I used to ride a bike when i was a kid until it got stolen. Sadly my parents couldn’t buy me another one at that time but they got me a motorbike few years later, and i ended up getting up into an accident with it and breaking my backbone from multiple places, glad to make it out alive since then i dont ride it too often as i’m still traumatised thus i got myself a bicycle again, a mtb. I’ve been riding it for last 3 days and i’m so happy that my youtube algorithm is also suggesting me such good content like yours, motivating me to ride even more. Great content lad and even greater accomplishment. Keep it up. Cheers!
You definitely HAVE TO go to the guy you got the bike from and show him this video. It will make him so happy seeing his 25yr of use bike having this journey 🤩
I love how you drag a clip art of yourself by the map to create an iteration of your actual progress! Also, that Raleigh is a very happy that you give it a second chance to be on the road again.
I filmed my ride from Essex to London to Paris with some friends a couple of months ago and while our route had its hairy moments, yours looked like an absolute calamity. 🤣. Never trust Google maps. Komoot is your friend on journeys like this. That said, what an adventure you had, which you wouldn't have got if you'd stayed on the well beaten path, so chapeau. Great storytelling video. Really enjoyed it. 👌🏼
What a great video matte, incredible experience, reminded me some of my trips on germany, getting lost, nothing to eat, rushing to arrive on time, incredible.
You are so heart warming, the little giggle at the patisserie shop, the positive attitude when the bike broke to making friends with John Mark. Look forward to more adventures
INCREDIBLE VIDEO !! i randomly had it on my fyp while i was studying and it was so intresting and wholesome i had to pause my study session to watch it, greetings from morocco , KEEP IT UP MATE !!
In 2016 my brother and I walked from Central London to Paris following a very similar route. It was just the 2 of us, everything we needed we carried, we wild camped along the way. It's nice to see that there are still vast swathes of completely isolated rural areas through northern France. We, like you, also struggled to find shops that were open after a days walking. An incredible irreplaceable experience none the less.
Episode 2: Paris to Rome? Looooooooool. You are crazy😂😂😂😂 Looked super fun and challenging. And what a nice bunch of people you met on the way, esp Jean-Mark.
Just stumbled across your channel, really enjoyed that video and viewed as a cycling grandad. Really great to see someone out on a bike doing an adventure rather than sat inside on video games. Keep safe and loving life fella.
Watching you grow bigger since the beginning has been an insane thing to see, and I couldn't have imagine this is what this channel would become. Great job man, genuinely.
Ahh thanks mate. I really appreciate you watching for so early on. Comments from people like you is what kept me going. I think you might be one of the only people who have stuck through all my phases on content haha. Cheers man 🧡
One of the most underrated YT channels I’ve come across this! Honestly some really good wholesome content and Chris just seems legit a top man! Top work Chris.
The ending is just amazing I though with the cinematography and the quality of this video u must have atleast a couple million subs IDK HOW U only have 18.5k jsut an amazing video KEEP GOING
I had been ignoring this videos for 2 months now but YT just kept recommending it and today I finally watched it and man it was awesome. I also plan on doing the eurovelo route one day and do adventures like these. I don't know when i would be able to get the time and money for the trip but I am sure that one day I will do it for sure. Infact I have stated training for it cycling 50-60 km regularly. I hope my wish comes true one day
I love everything about this video , Chris you are such a humble and amazing guy , I didn’t skip a second , can’t wait for your next vid , take care of yourself buddy 💪🫂
I was expecting a crappy youtube video that was all fake and stuff...Dude, you killed it with this video! Makes me want to travel longer distances on my bike. The freedom seems so fun and natural. Keep it up man!
Bloody love these random recommendation sometimes. I get so many awful suggestions but once in a while you get that golden ones. Nice work on the video and well done on biking to paris! Loved the video!
Everything from the Quality of the Video and the commentary was amazing. You've gained me as a sub i hope to see more amazing and quality content chris keep up the amazing work
I love this video. Thank you for sharing it with us and taking that trek. And thank you so much for using twenty one pilots music in it. Hearing them made me fall in love even more. Awesome stuff mate 🫶
I cycled to Paris on an old vintage race bike all the way from Amsterdam. My route Day 1: Amsterdam - Gent (this was 240 KM, i'd not recommend doing this much) Day 2: Rest Day 3: Gent - Atrecht (138 KM) Day 4: Atrecht - Compiegne (125 KM) Day 5: Compiegne - Paris (92 KM) If you wanna do long bike trips, invest in a good gravelbike. I purchased one after my trip and i wish i did it before i left to Paris. It makes such a difference. Also, make sure all your stuff is attached on the bike so you have nothing on your back. It really helps. Amazing video.
This was in my recommendations. I dont even cycle or like bikes but watched the whole thing; you're hilarious and what a great adventure. Subscribed now!

Awesome video. In my experience, cycling buddies you meet along the way will sometimes be your brothers for life. Nothing compares to the bond that is shared between two people just cycling together for hours...
This is truly awesome! Felt like I was there with you! And meeting Jean Marc on your bike ride ad for such a brilliant ending. Just subbed and look forward to seeing more!
I was literally bored watching the regular videos youtube serves me today I clicked on the " new to you" tab and found your video. Watching this video made me feel veru refreshed. Great content btw

just after watching the video i relised that you have 23k subscribers. was expecting 500k+ xD (it means that the video is very well done) the editing and cuts are really awesome! keep it up
16:00, as an English first, French second speaker, I have made this minor faux pas before! Saying ‘beaucoup’ for a minor task is seen as unnecessary/patronizing. You would say it for something that is meaningful and unexpected. For slightly more expected tasks, just the merci is fine, or maybe even ‘merci bien’. Enjoying the video!
Wow!! Incredible video, shot amazingly and such an inspiration for me to try my own adventure. So stoked you gave it to someone as well. Keep up the amazing content dude I hope you achieve great things!!!!
☀️ 🇫🇷 Great vlog Good that the "horse" has been "reborn" & is still putting in the kms / miles around Paris ! Wouldn't fancy that next major service bill though :) You could've thrown in the helmet at the au revoir !
what a dope video ! as a commuter cycilist since a few months inspires to go for longer trips . Please do make of such engaging journey based content please Chis
Ah, google maps navigation. Strava is 1000x better because it uses popular routes for cycling using heatmaps where google maps just goes down the most quiet 'roads' without knowing what surface or the road's conditions.
Amazing video. I restore old bikes and I'm really not surprised that Raleigh made it. In fact I'd far rather embark on a long journey on an old Raleigh than a brand new Halfords bike.
I have absolutely zero clue why UA-cam recommended your channel but I’ve had a fun morning watching your trip so I’m glad it did! 🚲 🇫🇷 😎 👌🏽 Also, Jean Marc is a total ledge 🎣

We’ve used the Newhaven to Dieppe ferry a couple of times. Seeing your video brought back great memories. Both occasions we took the overnight trip and both had lots of cyclists as passengers. I remember when disembarking at Dieppe seeing the cyclists continuing on their cycling adventure at 3 or 4 (very early) o clock, in total darkness.
Thank you very much, once again I am very honored to have said yes to get your bike. I am the organizer of the food and drink part of the opening ceremony for the public, it has already traveled more than 200 km around the stage during the ceremony! (it is a little big for me)

I'm so happy to hear the bike is being used! Thanks so much for your help Pierre, lets hope the bike can keep going! Speak to you soon :)
This is awesome! I did a similar thing once in Edmonton giving away my facebook bike I used for a couple weeks. I often wonder if the young woman got good use from it!
such a wholesome moment made my whole night!

what should i use instead?
@@WVWM komoot & strava is what I use. Cycle specific routes and you can choose what type of cycling you want to do and your fitness level.

@@Elucidated_ImpYes i used to use google maps, but komoot is better, it gives you better routes based on your bike type.
You gave life to that bike's final moments. And I kinda feel your sadness knowing that you'll never see Jean Marc again.
Dont you just love the UA-cam algorithm when it brings up videos like this! I grinned the whole way through😂
THIS GUY IS SO UNDERRATED. BANGER VIDEO!!!!
My guy! Thank you!! 🤩

Yes, me and Jean Marc are still in touch. Thank you for watching! Yes absolutely, people seem to like the cycling videos and they’re super fun to make
idk why, but for me, this video feels like a kind of relief from the content that we've become complacent with.

God damn 17K sub is insanely criminal with this quality of a video.
