the most iconic and instant way to understand jotaro's character is how he acts cold to his own mother and tells her to stop kissing him, but the one time she doesnt kiss him in the morning he instantly recognizes that something is wrong and rushes to check on her
As other people have said, that doesn’t really make him an less shallow. Then again, only a handful of characters in jojo are actually decent. The rest have multi-personality disorder (like the villains of part 4 becoming completely different after getting beaten).
Jotaro's character, in the anime at least, is mostly told through subtext. And not easy to read subtext either. So I can see how someone who isn't too into analysing stories misses it for him
@@A.Q7525 He was caring from the start, the first thing he did on screen was put himself in jail because he saw the "evil spirit" as a danger to people, when his mom got sick he went on a life threatening journey so she can recover , Jotaro doesnt show a lot of emotions but that doesn't mean he lacks them.
4: Literally ride or die as all hell 5: Will go solo in a fucking 1v2 so he doesn't risk his teammate's lives even if the fight is stacked against him 6: Actively prioritises other's lives over his own 7: Most cowardly character, apparantly
Ah yes, Fugo the calm and cool guy, he's definitely one of my favorite characters alongside Diavolo the kind-hearted and outgoing family man, Okuyasu the highly intelligent and introverted physicist, and Jonathan who's the reincarnation of Satan himself.
And Johnny, the confident non-amputee who is middling at being a horse jockey, and Funny Valentine a great president that is not like any US president at all. Or Yasuho the selfish person who abandoned buried Josuke and her boyfriend Joshu, the social expert keen on propriety.
@@iantaakalla8180 or jolyne, the evil lawyer that never got caught doing a crime ever. Nope. Ah man i loved that part in part 1 when Johnathan set a ship on fire and tried to kill his wife and son... Good times.
There's also Kars and his three comrades who died valiantly while trying to prevent Joseph from becoming the ultimate life form and threatening all life as they knew it
We also have Jotaro who is very respectful to his mother and shows mercy to enemies. Josuke who is cool with people insulting his hair. Kira the kind hearted and extroverted man who helps people with their problems. Bucciarati the bad leader who doesn't care about his gang. Abbacchio is such a good friend to Giorno who gets along with him since the first episode.
and it gets worse as parts go on, Jolyne literally poured gas in her and lit herself on fire so she wouldn't die to hyporthermia microbes, Johnny played angry birds with himself and let a fucking horse kick him in the gut so he could get more height, Gappy is the smartest character in this franchise and has the most self preservation yet he still throws himself into the enemy's stand ability in like every fight (might be a low blow since you can't really predict what the fuck the next character is pulling out of their gaping asshole)
How is mista a funny coward when his origin story is literally him getting into a gun fight in order to save a woman? It’s like he didn’t even watch/read this stuff
I actually love how unceremonious the deaths are in part 5. it makes them feel real. real people don't typically die ceremoniously. they just die. abbachio and narancia were the only two deaths I actually cried over throughout the entire series, mostly due to the other characters reactions (specifically how they grieved for abbachio).
Exactly, they wouldn't have as much of an impact if they had a 5 minute speech talking about how dying. They were there and they were gone, just like real people and that makes them more meaningful
honestly, I loved Abbachio's death because for the first time since king crimsons introduction, we don't see what happens in the time skip. one frame, everything it fine. the next, theres a fist through abbachio's chest and he's bleeding out. it's horrifying and shocking, and i had to rewatch the scene a few times just to realise what happened.
@@martinaelyse9152 Wanna make it worse? Mista didn't visibly cry or grieve until Naranchia died, implying he was trying to act stoic and brave for Naranchia's sake. Buccharati, despite being a corpse unable to bleed still bit his lip so hard that he drew blood, implying his heart pumped once more. You're welcome.
YES in real life death is fast, brutal, and can come out of nowhere. im tired of people just dying in the arms of their friends or loved ones and saying some corny bullshit before passing away at the perfect moment to make the scene as "dramatic" as possible. i WANT more unceremonious deaths in media, because in real life not everyone gets a perfect fairy tale ending. vanilla ice can LITERALLY ERASE THINGS FROM EXISTENCE. how the fuck is a "ceremonious" death even possible in that situation. obviously avdol got obliterated at the snap of a finger, thats what an ability like that would actually be like
The whole thing about Diavolo’s story is that he’s a mystery. He’s a guy who doesn’t want his identity revealed at all costs, so much so that he can conjure up a separate identity that is unaware of his real connection with his boss. I think it’s really fitting that we have to wait until the very end to see what the guy looks like. He has such a hard time revealing his identity that, when we first see him in Venice, he has to hide in robes, in the the darkest corner of the room, because of the slightest chance that someone may see him, it’ll be hard to make out what he looks like.
Funnily enough before the part 5 anime people said diavolo was the worst villain because you barely knew him, even though that was the whole point of his character. Speedreaders/watchers are a special case.
I don't understand how Diavolo being introduced halfway into the story was a problem for him when the exact same thing happened with Kira. I feel like Diavolo had much more of a prescence than Kira did before they were properly introduced.
@@melancholygirl7793 He’s even teased near the beginning! When Giorno and Bruno are planning on taking over the Mafia, we see that there’s a boss in charge of everything, so at that point we could all guess that guy will probably have to be the final threat they need to deal with. At that point in the story, they need to focus on getting Giorno into the mafia and rising up the ranks.
@@rogerpuzzitiello Yeah, exactly! Kira's prescence in the manga was one line you could interpret to foreshadow him. While his prescence in the the anime kind of reinforces that one line.
@@melancholygirl7793 The reason that Diavolo's late appearance is a problem and Kira's is not is because Kira receives tons of development/characterisation during the course of the story, and Diavolo does not. I shouldn't have to explain anything else beyond this.

I think the most agregious misrepresentation to me, is saying Fugo is the "calm cool guy." His entire stand is based around how he's ANGRY all the time. It literally shoves that he's not calm in your face by saying "his stand is a manifestation of his anger."
I wouldn't say Fugo is really calm or angry all the time, more he's one or the other and has no in-between phase, just like how Purple Haze was described when it first appeared.

I lost it at "funny coward". Polnareff is incredibly, stupidly brave and confident, to the point it causes major problems, cause he's just ready to go against anyone anytime. What the fuck.
Even the first fight against Avdol, Polnareff chooses to slowly burn to death rather than take the easy way out with the knife and Avdol even comments that his honor was overriding the flesh bud. He's the polar opposite of a coward or a weakling.
"The deaths are unceremonious" Well it's not like everyone has some energy left to deliver a speech that lasts half a whole episode in their dying breath.
Literally only Avdol has an unceremonious death in Part 3. He gets erased by Vanilla Ice and Cream. Iggy gets a dramatic sacrifice to save Polnareff, and Kakyoin gets to take his last moment of living thought to warn Joseph about DIO's Stand after deducing it *as he is dying* Past part 3? Shigechi gets an insanely dramatic death at Kira's hands, Aya gets a horrific death from him as well. And Kira's own death is incredibly dramatic.
why would you want a grand death everytime. A fast quick silent one shows you how dire the situation is and in tern makes it feel more real. Sorry anime fans, people don't get final speeches in real life ☠
@@ShrimpRice That's why the more I see of the "dying characters needs to have last speech" trope, the more I get tired of it. I heard Cosmonaut is a One Piece fan right? Love that series but when I look back at it, it was tropey like *SPOILER and UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT* looking back at Ace's death I got bored rewatching it because of how his final words is dragged out for a whole episode. Like is he really dying after getting a MAGMA donut from Akainu? And aren't they in a middle of a war? Some enemy should be striking them at one point.
"Characters in part 3 die unceremoniously". Yeah the way Kakyoin died while, uh, (checks notes) directly confronting the main villain who had been shown to have an ability that seemed like extraordinary speed at the time that had been demonstrated plenty of times before was very unceremonious.
@@keodiozubu8670 Undodgeable would be more accurate actually - If Dio didn't have the timestop he would have to somehow deflect everything thrown at him while also keeping himself and TW from touching HG's barriers as much as possible, which would be incredibly difficult even with TW's base speed (which is about the same level as Star Platinum, who could keep up with Chariot). Second, the fight seemed to suggest that Kakyoin's goal at the time wasn't landing a blow, but rather to draw out as much information about TW as he could, which worked out despite it leading to his death, and ultimately changed the tide of battle into Jotaro's favor. In a way, it's like Avdol's death; A noble sacrifice.
@@ninjakidkat12 I mean did it. Jotaro mostly found that about by himself. Plus even then he did not have anything to stop until he also gained the power to stop time. Hell even with Joseph he could not get the information in time and even he could not even do anything about the stop time. Its like him finding out that dio could stop time meant almost nothing. Second even then with a stand with multiple abilities especially one that is said to reflect or in your case not dodgeable him going out like that with almost no damage done to dio with just simple timestop seems more not ceremony worthy. At least to me anyway
@@keodiozubu8670 If Kakyoin didn't find out about TW's ability and didn't leave his dying message for Joseph to understand, Jotaro would most likely have stepped into Dio's range when Joseph and Dio fell from the rooftops. Joseph yelling about him having to keep his distance kept Jotaro from doing so and ultimately saved Jotaro from being able to be killed in the same timestop Dio "killed" Joseph in. If Joseph didn't have that information beforehand, the fight would've ended then and there. It's funny that you describe timestop as being "simple" despite how absolutely broken it is. It's absolutely feasible that Kakyoin, who didn't know of the ability at that point, wouldn't be able to actually hurt Dio. In fact, the fact that he managed to get close to harming Dio is noteworthy on it's own. Hol Horse's attempted betrayal has shown just how terrifying timestop can be if you have no way to counter it, which has only been done by Jotaro armed with the information of TW's ability plus SP being basically the same Stand. And some rats for some reason. Jotaro is the main character; Of course he'd get the privilege of actually playing Dio at his own game and harming him. If you don't know someone has a timestop ability and/or you have no way to get around the problem, the enemy can just stop time, move out of harm's way and kick you in the balls in the meantime, which is what Dio did. Kakyoin getting the information was really the best he could do and like I said earlier ultimately saved Jotaro's life. It's faithful to what Dio has shown to be capable of while also giving Kakyoin a bit of spotlight, even if it did kill him.
@@ninjakidkat12 That's sorta of a stretch. Cuz the only thing preventing Jotaro from staying back is Joseph saying stand back. Jotaro could have stopped for minute or two just process what happened or Joseph could have figured it out himself and it would have the same affect. Also freaking polnaerf got a stab in and that was close range granted by surprise but still. Also being simple does mean it cant be broken( ots a non point but still). Kakyoin stand had many abilities at his disposal and he could do his from long range. How come he did not even get in one hit in why polnaerf got at least a good stab? His main contribution to the whole fight just seems( my opinion by the way) to relying information that either he could not beat, Jotaro beat by himself and mostly figured out by himself and to Joseph saying at that exact time stay back which could have been without that.
I wouldn't call Polnareff a coward either. He constantly saw and experienced how life threatening the journey was, but instead of noping out, hiding in a remote place and hoping that Dio won't find him, he kept on going, even after he avenged his sister.
You do realize that a character can still fit the very general mold of an archetype while having moments where he’s not in that mold right? Holy shit jojo fans are the fucking worst
Ah, yes. Polnareff. The cowardly man who went nuts leaving France to avenge his sister, facing someone who called himself a god head-on with zero shits given. The funny coward who hunted down the Pink Godfather Barbie Doll that turned him into a paralytic and had the strength and determination to latch onto another soul just to make sure Pink Godfather Barbie is defeated. Funny coward indeed. Very cowardly.
It’s a pretty odd critique to call someone a coward when their actions throughout the whole series contradicts that statement. For Dragon Ball fans, it’s like calling Goku a lazy cowardly fighter who always wins a battle because he’s the main character who never made a single mistake in the entire series.
@@JustADemon2023 Its just a horrible take. Even in his first battle polnareff is overly cocky and smug to the point it ends up costing him the battle. As he burns to death he refuses to use the knife avdol gave him to try and stab him in the back and chooses to burn to death with dignity. Avdol even blatantly states that polnareffs sense of honor overrode the commands of DIO's fleshbud. He almost gets Avdol killed because he underestimates his Hol horse and wont back down. The thing that bothers me about some "anti-Jojos" people (I don't mean people that just aren't into it, I mean antis). Is that they don't understand how a show can have a very specific appeal that really draws in certain people. I have friends that don't like JJBA but they ALWAYS say they can totally understand how other people can be really into it. They can see the appeal even though it does nothing for them. Jojos has a unique niche it fills for some people. Going on a Rant about this show feels very out-of-touch to me. It has the same energy as people who would rant about something like Evil Dead or Rocky Horror. It's just not something you can do without missing the point/looking stupid. Also people that forget this JJBA is a property started in the 1980s and 90s irritate me. There are so many interesting cultural things you won't understand if you don't keep the dates in mind.

I tried to get my little sis into JoJo and she couldn’t because “it’s just weird” and to me that’s an acceptable answer. Modern anime/manga satirizes the serious, ridiculous, over-the-top nature of the superpowered hero manga subgenre. JoJo is in a very special place where it is both aware of this cliche and celebrates it by making a willing audience member shed the embarrassment they might feel due to its camp. It’s not exactly tongue-in-cheek, but there is never this sense of “If you laugh during serious moment, you’re ruining the mood”. That’s where “Bizarre” comes in. “Bizarre” is an assault on convention and the expected. Things can be life or death and still weird. People can be ruthless killers and have odd quirks (Ghiaccio’s hate-boner for idioms). You can be aware of how trope-y things are but still enjoy it because of the entertainment it gives you. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is a series that says “It’s ok to like cool things simply because they’re cool.”
Yeah. I'm not someone who unsubscribes to someone for having a different opinion, but with Cosmo, I disagree with his takes on the Raimi Spidey trilogy, Jojo, and TLOU2 because he seems to miss the point of some scenes, characters, or just misinterprets stuff in whatever he's reviewing. Babyface: his only solo fight and even then he figures out how to counter his enemy in a reasonable way (i.e. using baby face to learn something new about his ability.) Vs. Notorious B.I.G.: Is forced to loose his arm as an attempt to get rid of him as is taken out of commission. Vs. Crush and Talking Head: He was the one who needed the saving in the scenario. Vs. Ghiacco: His powers or completely useless for offense and is brought down as support for Mista. Giorno also has his moments of emotion. Giorno's character is a lot more subtle than other Jojos. His backstory establishes him to be a more introverted character. While he doesn't outright show emotion, His emotions come from his inner thoughts, which we see him display panic and frustration is situations. There even times where does show emotion: - Him quivering and disbelief at Abbachio's death. - His utter despair and disbelief at the reveal that Bruno was basically a zombie on a time limit. - His destain, hatred, and anger towards Ciocolatta. - His despair towards Narancia's death (It's also the first time we see him cry, which given the context of his backstory, holds some significance. It's basically what you said about Jotaro. Although he doesn't show much emotion, it doesn't mean they're not there. As a critique towards Cosmonaut, he complains that him being the son of Jonathan and Dio has no plot relevance when that wasn't the point. It's to contextualize Giorno's character and his morality. He has Jonathan's sense of justice and honor, but has a Dio way of delivering that justice towards his enemies. Giorno is a character that has to be looked deeper into in order to appreciate him. While do understand how his introverted personality can be seen as uninteresting, in my opinion, his subtly as a character is what makes him more interesting. I'm not expecting anyone's mind to be changed. This is just how I feel about him.
He said he liked it when it was bizarre but it got to points where it wasn’t bizarre and just shit, I do like JoJos and I agree with everything in his review
12:54 I like the fact that araki killed off the main characters in his story, it gives the feeling that the cast isn't invincible, despite their victories.
@@lucinavonnolaran8728 4 is literally a well known “curse” in japan. They take it out of hotels normally and skip over the number 4 because the way they say 4 is close to the way they say death. Mista is paranoid of this and I’m pretty sure he even made a reference to this while talking about his dislike for the number during the cake scene. Just because someone is paranoid over something DOESNT mean they’re cowardly. Especially when the character literally risks his life not once, not twice, BUT ON THREE DIFFERENT EVENTS (Train scene, Helicopter scene, and the stand fight where HES shooting bullets while the bullets warn him he will possibly die.) those are not the traits of a cowardly person and if you think it is then maybe you should look up a definition of cowardly.
When Pol stabbed DIO , you need to take in consideration that he thought all the other crusaders are dead , after all Jotaro was playing dead. After taking that into consideration you CANNOT tell me that my boy Pol is a coward

“Jotaro has no emotion” But then Jotaro puts himself in mortal danger to save his mom and goes apeshit when DIO kills Joseph. No emotion my ass. Same goes for Giorno
Nonono I dont like this dude but I will give him a pass on that comment if he only watched the anime cause they did jotaro dirty in the anime version for he did not exactly have the most amount of emotion like the manga I understand why he acted the way he did in the anime I respect but its sad we did not get to see him smile more or have more reactions in the anime
If Jotaro had no emotions he would not save his mother in the first place. Because he would not *feel compassion* enough for her and would not *feel guilty* in leting her die People without emotions are basically psychopaths People should at least have a Basic notion of psychology before trying to analyze characters Or stop counfounding "expression" with "emotions" Yeah Jotaro is not much expressive but he have a Lot of emotions
I'm really impressed that, as someone who hates Giorno, you were able to demonstrate a great understanding of Giorno as a character and describe him in a way that makes him sound really cool.
Giorno has no emotions, he just achieved a powerful stand like a piece of cake unlike jotaro who had to struggle for the time stop power I like part 5 but giorno is not a good charecter
@@justajobro1266 Giorno:cries for Narancias death, griefs for Abaccio and punches Ciocolatta for 30 seconds because he was killing innocents, yep definetly no emotions from this protagonist. Giorno feels like a side charecter in his own part, and thats a big fault
The Part 5 death scenes were unceremonial? Maybe they died out of nowhere, but that’s just to show how secretive Diavolo acts and even kills. The scenes after their deaths with Abbacchio in the afterlife and the group realizing Narancia‘s fate are some of the saddest imo
In the real world, death is mostly unceremonious. It's usually cruel, brutal and it happens out of nowhere. I'm glad Araki choose to end his beloved characters this way because it gives a more heavy gut punch. It is why I believe Narancia's death is the saddest of the anime series.
What makes Narancia’s death sadder is that it happened right when he was fantasizing about going back home and actually starting a normal life by going to school. But nope-he gets impaled on a fence instead.
@@blobofmeatwhoexist8460 ah shit, the one kid Gyro tries to save or somethin? I honestly forgot some details in part 7 but good golly, my heart sank when I read that.
I was aggravated with his takes at first but calling mista a coward and fugo “too strong” solidified the fact that he didn’t know what he was talking about
@@lennard8066 He never called Fugo weak lol, and you missed the point. The comment was referring to how cosmonaut believed Araki wrote Fugo out was due to Fugo being too strong, despite the fact that most enemy stands before Fugo left could actually counter Fugo's stand.
Isn’t Cosmonaut also the same guy who said that Joel from The Last of Us wasn’t a beloved character?🥴And also thought that people were angry just because they killed him off without even looking into the context of the situation? Which’s that people thought he was killed off in the most contrived and unsatisfying way possible?
Nothing was unsatisfying about Joels death lmao. It had both heavy story and plot significance which is what a good death needs, unlike 80% of deaths in jojo which make absolutely no effect on the plot other than the character is no longer there. This is coming from a big jojo fan.
I've always hated how people say giorno has no character traits. just because he's very stoic, calm (mostly), and quiet doesn't mean he has no character traits, you just gotta actually pay attention to him
Jojo is my favorite fictional series, but honestly JoJo character writing isn't super strong. Not bad, mind you, but not strong. If you made it to part 5, you lose all right to complain about Giorno being flat in my opinion. Not like any jojo that came before him is the writing equivalent of getting your first blowjob.
As soon as Cosmo tried to label Fugo as a Cool and Calm character, I immediately knew he didn’t know what the fuck he was talking about. The character that was depicted with such extreme anger issues that his Stand is uncontrollable. Yeah okay, buddy.
The dude who literally stabbed his friend he was tutoring in the face with a fork because narancia is such a dumby when it comes to any kinda educational intelligence
Okay, but fr, nah, Abacchio’s death was not unceremonious. He got caught off guard and killed in an underhanded and brutal way (like how a gang member would kill another gang member), but if he hadn’t succeeded before he died, the entire rest of part 5 would not, could not happen. Abacchio in that scene is single handedly the most important character of part 5.

@@christophersamueldearlysih262It's not an arc if there isn't a core character issue being addressed, and it needs an ending to it as well. Character development ≠ Character arc.
My one complaint here: Kakyoin is NOT cardboard. If you pay attention to him at ALL, you would know this. It’s just he doesn’t really get a backstory at all until the episode where he DIES. Kakyoin legit grew as a character throughout the adventure. This was blatantly reflected during the T D'arby fight.
THANK YOU!!! I love kakyoin so much and to see people call him that makes my eyes roll into my head. Everyone has their own opinion but it's really just oversight.
People like him for the wrong reasons. They like him because he likes milfs and licks cherries, but not because he was a lonely introvert who's only friend was one that nobody else could see, but he finally found friends who truly understand him.
THIS THO Not only the T D’Arby fight was amazing regarding that, but I loved seeing Kakyoin’s time to shine against Death 13. He was basically alone when no one else trusted him, and the way he had to overcome those challenges on his own to me was triumphant
As someone who did really enjoy Giorno's character, I appreciate you defending him despite not liking him. I understand why other people may not like him, and maybe my opinion will change once I read the manga (I just started Phantom Blood a few days ago) but your ability to summarize and defend who his character is despite not enjoying it that much really shows that you understood the story that was trying to be told, unlike how Cosmonaut would misrepresent characters like calling Fugo calm and cool. Overall this video put a lot of things into words that I'd felt when first watching Cosmonaut's video and it was done in a very entertaining manner. I also really like that you said it's alright for people to not like JoJo since it is quite a strange show to get into. Lots of your arguments had plenty of evidence and sources, plus it was all delivered in quite an entertaining format. Basically what my 3am brain is trying to say is good video, I really enjoyed it. I'm excited to watch more videos from you :D (also props to Kaiser for the editing and little commentary moments, I really enjoyed those as well).

The reason Josuke's grandpa wasn't in the Great Days opening is because his death was avenged the same episode he died. All the dead characters in the opening had deaths caused by Kira (except Okuyasu's Brother) in which Josuke tried his best to avenge their deaths.
“the deaths were unceremonious” yeah because THATS HOW DEATH IS. my best friend was hanging out in her living room one day when her dad started groaning in the other room. ten minutes later, he was dead. no last words, no dramatic goodbye, he just died right in her arms. that’s what makes araki’s writing so impactful, because it doesn’t pander to the audience’s need for closure. Grief is painful and unexpected and raw; you sometimes don’t get to say “i love you” or even “i’m sorry” before that person is gone, and i think deaths like caesar and narancia really encapsulate that feeling. they leave people behind (joseph and fugo) who have to live with the burden of words left unsaid. God i hate how reductive cosmo’s language is, he fundamentally misunderstands the story but preaches to his hundreds of thousands of viewers like his words are the truth.
Even then I wouldn't use the word unceremonious. We do get a send off for every character that dies. Be it their Ghost visiting the surviving companion, the narrator giving a speech, or something else. Like Narancia had the most "unceremonious" death. But the entire story took a quick break to acknowledge his death. The anime even added that scene with Fugo. The only death that I consider completely unceremonious happens in Part 7.
He complains about Diavolo/Doppio being introduced so late but Kira was the same. He was introduced halfway into part 4 but was hinted at as many times as Diavolo.
and even then, the boss was built up from the beginning of part 5, whereas kira in the manga came from left field, they fixed it in the anime by adding a lot of hints
Cosmonaut seems like the guy who would take "Araki forgot" seriously. This guy is a joke. I remember watching his essay on Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, and I *despised* his many poor takes on the matter. Well, what do you know? Years later he's back and oh boy is it even worse this time around!
People keep talking about his Raimi Spiderman Trilogy video as like all of his points were actually serious. He’s said multiple times that most of “criticisms” were just for fun. When he ranked every super hero movie he put Spiderman 2 as one of the best. “I love this video. This is such a well-spoken and constructive response, and I appreciate you acknowledged that most of my video was just for funsies. Maaaaybe I'll reconsider how I feel about Aunt May having heard your side. But MJ is still the worst.” Cosmonaut literally said that 5 years ago on a video responding to his.
@@DrJareld. I just hope he decided that during the process of creating the video not AFTER the fact that he got absolutely criticized for what he spoke about. Cause I'll be honest none of his content inspires trust from me and i couldn't give him the benefit of the doubt that he aint just back peddling to do damage control.
I personally find Cosmo's videos to be kind of surface level. Like he never really analyses or criticises them on a deeper level but it probably stems from the fact that I don't enjoy the way he presents his content or humour that much either
Cosmo comes off as the type that likes to hate what ever is popular and give very surface level statements or completely misrepresent or misinform the viewer. Watching this had me think “Did this dude watch the same show that I did?” and calling characters “cowards” when they almost literally get themselves killed for the main goal or protagonist had me cringing so hard

My favorite death is Shigechi. Not because I hated the crotch goblin. It showed Kira perfectly, hence why he’s my favorite villain. He’s human. It also shows that it could’ve been easily avoidable. Shigechi was the most hard hitting death because it shows that no one besides the main characters know he’s gone. It rings too close to reality of kids who go missing and their parents don’t know what happened to them. Plus his death gave them a head-start to Kira at that point
@@crackerjack0349 I agree and Kayoin was pretty similar as well, I like the way all the deaths in jojos were implemented, even Avdols, its just that the deaths in part 5 were main characters, you knew some might die but you never saw it coming, especially not Narancia but yeah, while Kira isnt the strongest, he is the best villain
it's funny that cosmonaut loves part 4 and hates part 5, even though 4 is *slightly* longer than 5 (in the manga). and in the anime they have the exact same number of episodes **facepalm**
Imagine saying a poorly written story is great and everyone else who hates it for a good reason is dumb and doesn’t understand it (his tlou 2 video) but then go on to hate on something simply because you didn’t understand it (his jojo video)
It's like his brain just turns off whenever he is watching or playing anything; his "criticisms" always seem to end up being based on his emotional responses, or opinions he read on the internet for validation, rather than actual analysis. That wouldn't be a problem if only he painted his observations as the surface-level observations and opinions that they are, instead of always speaking highly or condescendingly, as if everything that comes out of his mouth must be an absolute objective truth... even when most of the time his observations are inaccurate, shallow, ambiguous, misrepresentative or just plain wrong. But just like your average contrarian, his ego already made him delusional. The guy is the living definition of pretentious.
I'm really shocked as to why his video has way more likes than dislikes and how he has more than a million subscribers. Does anyone know what's the appeal in his videos?

Also, says the guy who praised Joel's demise in TLOU2. So one is okay but the other isn't? Why? Is it, idk, because Cosmo is more of a contrarian as opposed to a proper critic, so his tought process is "popular = bad, unpopular = good"?

Also on the surgeon thing I will never stop finding it funny that NMH2 and TLoU2 are extremely similar as far as the revenge plot goes but NMH2 did it to mock how stupid it is while TLoU2 acts as though it’s meant to be serious.

Polnareff is extremely cocky which is the polar opposite of being cowardly
Even the first fight against Avdol, Polnareff chooses to slowly burn to death rather than take the easy way out with the knife and Avdol even comments that his honor was overriding the flesh bud.
He's the polar opposite of a coward or a weakling.

Literally only Avdol has an unceremonious death in Part 3. He gets erased by Vanilla Ice and Cream. Iggy gets a dramatic sacrifice to save Polnareff, and Kakyoin gets to take his last moment of living thought to warn Joseph about DIO's Stand after deducing it *as he is dying*

Dude he died by getting punched in thw gut after an attack that was supposedly unblockable

@Noah zzstu Smith that's how all fans of anything behaves though, it's not unique to jojo.
I wouldn't really call Giorno a Gary Stuart. That implies that he doesn't go through a single struggle or adversity
Vs. Bruno: Get's pretty much owned for most of the fight until he figures out a way to counter and make up for his short range.
Vs. Babyface: his only solo fight and even then he figures out how to counter his enemy in a reasonable way (i.e. using baby face to learn something new about his ability.)
Vs.
There even times where does show emotion:
- Him quivering and disbelief at Abbachio's death.

5) leaving his wife and daughter just to protect them from other stand users hunting him
6) choosing to save Jolyne over saving the world
How dafuq did Cosmanaut miss this (oh yeah he didn't care)
Oh and nice video Manga
Not to mention how he allowed that guy to torment him when joesphs life was on the line
@@danielshore1457 yeah exactly and also when the Crusaders are making fun of wheel of fortune he was smiling and when they realized where the user of The Sun is hiding he laughed
You should watch totally not mark’ s stardust crusaders review he illustrates this point perfectly
He literally went “grandad said to run but fuck that this asshole killed him and my friends, I am too pissed to let him get away”
Is he blunt, rude, and prone to violence? Yes, but he cares about the people around him.
The ENTIRE REASON he let himself get arrested at the very beginning was to keep his stand from hurting people at random.
“These deaths are un-ceremonial.”
God forbid Cosmo watches a war movie.
Also, says the guy who praised Joel's demise in TLOU2.
So one is okay but the other isn't? Why?
Is it, idk, because Cosmo is more of a contrarian as opposed to a proper critic, so his tought process is "popular = bad, unpopular = good"?
@@scr8846 the amazing thing is that Joel’s death, by his own standard, should be way worse than any JoJo death because NOT ONLY was his death un-ceremonial, the events leading up to his death made no sense whatsoever.
@@ThatGuy-bp1ll Pretty much, he also calls Gold Experience Requiem's birth a "Deus ex machina" moment, yet, the plot twist of a random surgeon, who literally has nothing to distinguish himself from the other practitioner's at the fireflies's base being Abby's father isn't grasping at the straws for him.
@@scr8846 on the Gold Experience Requiem thing I just find it amusing how, let’s be honest, JoJo is filled with Ass-pulls, (i.e. Star SUCC) but GER is honestly the worst example he could have done for that because half of Part 5 is dedicated to the race for the arrow and how it can grant amazing power for whoever uses it, so GER is just what the story was building it up to be.
Also on the surgeon thing I will never stop finding it funny that NMH2 and TLoU2 are extremely similar as far as the revenge plot goes but NMH2 did it to mock how stupid it is while TLoU2 acts as though it’s meant to be serious. It just comes off as NMH2 was mocking a game 10 years before the games release.
Cosmo would not watch a war movie because he would say it’s not anime enough

"Fugo, calm cool guy"
Fugo : * is the definition of anger issues *
Yep. Even in his backstory, his abnormally short fuse and violent nature is what lead him to join the gang
That's why he has Purple Haze as his stand.
Because he didn’t listen I bet
Josuke, Yukako, Fugo, Ghiaccio, and Diavolo have the biggest anger issues in the whole damn anime
Cosmonaut: Fugo is the calm cool guy
Fugo's whole backstory and reason for joining the gang is that his uncontrollable rage led to him killing his teacher. He stabs Narancia with a fork for getting a maths question wrong.
Wait didn't Fugo's teacher molested him tho, if so then killing him was sorta justified
The teacher thing is understandable tho
I mean his teacher survived, just wounded.
His stand is literally an embodiment of his anger.
He called fugo "calm and cool"
He definately misunderstood the entire fucking show
His critiques are so general as to be almost worthless. Stopped listening once i realised that. Almost no insight, like most UA-cam critics.
I stop following him when he defended the mandarin in Iron man 3
@@paulmajano I honestly liked what they did with Mandarin before the whole “gotcha” moment at the middle of the movie. It could have been a clever revitalization of the character and would have driven the theme of Tony being Iron Man without the suit by using his smarts instead.
It’s still sad that the best version of the Mandarin outside of comics is the version from Armored Adventures where he’s basically a Tokusatsu villain.
@@kingbash6466 you know why they did that with the mandarin? It’s because the mandarin is Chinese, Disney can’t have a villain that’s Chinese because that will upset their Chinese overlords.
@@paulmajano probably
Well, the classic Mandarin will show up in the Shang Chi film.

@@thatmagelad8539 yeah, but it's long and when someone calls a 48 episode anime "long" when he has caught up with the 999+ episode One piece, there is a problem.
I legit don’t understand how this guy thinks the fights in part 3 suck. Is it because they aren’t throwing continents at each other and blowing up solar systems like in other anime?
Because it's just "throwing fire/punches/swords/etc" instead of nuclear physics vs biological weapon I guess
That is true, but sword fights and punchups can still be done great
The best "fight" in part 3 is the poker game imho. Sure, Jotaro's bluff is strong, but how he make Darby lost his cool is very meticulous and carefully planned.
imo some of the fights in the first half weren’t the best, but in egypt they were awesome. N’Doul, the darby brothers, Pet Shop and Anubis come to mind

@Noah zzstu Smith you haven't met the MHA and Melee fandoms then
True, every other fandom is just like that but people prefer to point the finger at jjba fans. Sure they can get annoying at times but ,,toxic" is more of an exaggerated term.
@Noah zzstu Smith Just like the person above me said on my first comment, mha fandom is considered toxic bc a part of the fandom sends death threats to Horikoshi because of ships. And aot fandom became toxic lately, because in the new season, Mikasa looks different, CGI and they keep saying how bad MAPPA is. My point is that every fandom has that one toxic and annoying part and not just jjba. In fact jjba is more annoying than toxic.
@Noah zzstu Smith nah people call JoJo fanbase annoying but they always call the JoJo fanbase one of the least toxic ones. It's filled with memes and passionate fans.
I've never seen any toxic JoJo fan being toxic for no reason.
Annoying =/= toxic lmfao
@Noah zzstu Smith ok but how does that make them toxic in any way?
I hated Cosmo's videos on TLU2, Jojo, Watchmen HBO, and his takes Star Wars. He not only does shallow takes at best...he fundamentally doesn't understand why people don't like or like something. I want to say he misrepresents arguments, but I can't. He just doesn't seem to get any other viewpoint than his own...and even his own is underdeveloped.
