That Rohan section is completely inaccurate, Rohan is actually YOUNGER in the side more comic than he is in the main story of part 4, meaning that the point I was trying to make there is invalid.
There’s actually a really good wave motion article about it that gets it right:

well, he ain't a liar...
Actually Jotaro came to morioh to tell Josuke that he will get a third of Joseph’s inheritance
He went to do both things
It was both
He was originally trying to sort out Joseph inheritance, and thats when he found out about Josuke. He had to travel to Morioh to tell him about the money but Joseph wanted to use Hermit Purple to take a spiritual photo of Josuke and see how he looked. Instead of getting a photo of him, Hermit Purple got a picture of a dark ominous presence in Morioh, hence giving another purpose for Jotaro to travel there.
Still a funny comment
And then part 5 comes and says Jotaro came to Japan to search for the arrow even though he doesn't know what the arrow is in part 4.

You really undersold Polnareff’s character. His story is tragic and he never realises the value of what he has until it’s too late. Plagued by survivor’s guilt. My favourite crusader.

With Joseph’s age he is still the same guy. Yes he is older and he is different but you can still see the smart Joseph underneath. Especially when he uses his own blood to find the invisible baby even though it could have killed him. And that scene was one of my favorites because it shows that yes he is older but this is still Joseph Joestar.
The final scene where Josuke takes his wallet as Jotaro and him are leaving definitely reminded me of the way he was in Part 2/3 as well.
Yeah and was it he was playing dumb? Or did he know what was going on but wanted his kid and grandkid to figure things out? Those parts had me and my wife debating if it was old age, or just another Joseph move to get them to like him.
I love part 4, and I never understood the hate against the first half of it. The criticism is that it's slow and just filler, but I never got that. The point of part 4 is that it's an intimate view on Morioh and the people who live there, so the first half of it is meant to flesh out the characters and town. It's deadass the whole point, it's a dumb argument to say it's all just filler.

'Dear Sweet Idiot Boy' is the best description of Okuyasu I've ever heard.
Seeing Joseph as an extremely old man was one of the roughest things I'd ever watched in an anime. It mirrored my relationship with my grandmother, knowing her when she was full of energy and vigor, but watching that slowly slip away over the past several year has hurt more than anything else. Araki really nailed old Joseph, but it was a hard sit for me.
FreeSpeechOverFeelings is he still around?
@@valysheev ye in part 6
Same here. When he fell getting out of the boat and Josuke caught him and helped him walk, even though he could fix the cane, made me cry.
They have to get a new voice actor for old Joseph cause the japanese voice actor passed away this year
At least manga wise Joseph never appears again, it’s only in interviews that Araki says that he’s still alive in Part 6
When I was a kid I heard this one saying that supposedly, throughout your entire lifespan you will walk past at least 1 serial killer on the street without ever knowing it, Kira always reminded me of that
I heard that too, as a kid/teen. And if that was the case, where tf are these serial killers?I think a good portion of people walk past killers, but maybe not serial killers.
Kira is probably one of the creepiest villains because he’s so normal on the surface.
Like most serial killers, he’s an affluent, if mild-mannered, man who has a contempt for women, and is able to get by unscathed due to being wealthy and charming enough to have social advantage.

I don't think Okuyasu is stupid per se. Things like the complex metaphors he used to describe Tonio's food and that stutter teleport he comes up with to catch Red Hot Chilli Pepper are pretty clever. I think his brother told him he was stupid, then bullied him until Okuyasu stopped trying to think for himself.
Mike MD I completely agree. He's learning from his past mistake and became more clever in battle in "the book: another day" highly recommended for okuyasu lovers
Or that he's too used to relying on his brother for guidance and protection when they were younger, then when they're older and Keicho started belittling him, possibly in an attempt to maybe make him stand up for himself, he instead started to think that maybe Keicho's right and just follows him because he feels indebted to him.
Yeah. He is actually pretty smart when he get used to it. It really that he is such a sweet boy and think highly of his brother, relying on him even with their semi abusive relationship that made okuyasu think himself of incapable. He is my favorite jobro beside polnareff
Mike MD I think his voice kind of buries his hypothetical idiocy. I think that the V.A’s in English and Japanese both did a great job, but he does kind of sound like a burly knucklehead, which is part of why it’s easier to see him as unintelligent as opposed to his actual mental strength.
Matthew Mara yeah that shows okuyasu’s straightforward thinking, he didn’t consider teaming up to whoop rhcp’s ass, all he wanted to do was kill the bastard. can’t blame him tbh

I am not entirely sure if you have brought attention to this whether intentional or not but there are 2 more things I love about the "villains" and Yoshikage Kira specifically.
1. I love how each and every single one of the villains is treated like an actual understandable living person whose life got thrown into conflict/turmoil with the introduction of Stands (or in Keicho's case DIO ) Their Stands feel less like their motive and more like an enabler to what they are doing.
2. I love how Yoshikage Kira and Josuke Higashikata are the truest polar opposites that I think the show has ever shown us.
While Josuke relies on his friends and his wits Yoshikage Kira relies on being reclusive and "fate choosing him to prevail" essentially luck ( but he is rather smart too don't get me wrong )
While Josuke as a teenager is a carefree highschool student just wanting to experience some excitement Yoshikage Kira is a isolated adult worker who literally doesn't want to have any excitement in his life aside from his murders.
While Josuke's power relies on kindness and selflessness Kira's power is respectlessly destructive and his "Bites the dust" is literally the most selfish power I can think of. Twisting time and fate itself just so you can live out your desires without consequence.
Even their physique is opposite; Josuke is tall and relatively muscular as a teenager while Kira is relatively small and frail as an adult.
Josuke has an explosive temper resulting in outrages or tantrums while Kira's (literally) explosive temper results in quiet, brooding plans to destroy the source of his anger (much like part 3 Jotaro)
Josuke has respect for others and doesn't want to cause anyone emotional anguish while Kira invades a guy's house and kills him in front of his girl, only to then kill the girl who was in a state of panic as well.
With every other villain in the series we had at least a little more similarity between them and their respective Jojos

I appreciate the effort and your love for part 4 and it definitely opened my eyes to a lot of things I missed. @@ediiiiiiii I agree, but that's basically the whole point of (most) shonen manga and probably why some people didn't like the first half of DiU. I like how part 4 breaks away from a linear storyline and blends in some "slice of life" moments.
Loved DiU but some EXCEPTIONALLY minor nitpicks.
Some scenes cut from the manga were really interesting, particularly Kira measuring the distance for the air bomb. He knew precisely the measurements of his finger and arm and used basic algebra to determine the distance between him and his target. Not only that, he's very casually just doing some quick mental arithmetic in the middle of a life or death struggle against a huge threat. It's such a neat single panel which gives a lot of great insight into how Kira thinks that I was disappointed to see missing from the anime.
Second [SPOILERS]
So when Koichi uses Act 3 to stop Kira from using Bites the Dust: in the manga Koichi grabbed onto Jotaro's coat as Jotaro rushed forwards, putting himself in range to use his ability. Jotaro notices Koichi holding onto him only after he's used Time Stop and praises Koichi for being so reliable (and it was a pretty solid moment of quick thinking from Koichi to realise he wouldn't be fast enough to cover the gap on his own).
In the anime, there's this awful shot of Koichi standing on the ground commanding Act 3 before Jotaro stops time, but then we see Koichi holding onto Jotaro anyway. It makes zero sense and what makes it worse is that Jotaro praising Koichi makes Jotaro seem a little dull too... I mean he's so marveled that Koichi used that one ability he has? He obviously wasn't praising Koichi's quick thinking this time around since Koichi was apparently able to use Act 3 without needing to grab onto Jotaro. It takes away from how sharp Koichi is by having him just blandly use his ability like that. Hell, if Koichi was in range before grabbing Jotaro why did he even need to grab Jotaro anyway?
Every time I see that 2 second shot of Koichi using Act 3 I get a little sad.
All in all though, cutting a 5 second scene and adding a pointless 2 seconds are my only complaints about a 39 episode series. Goes to show how great the show is.
Wow, that makes a lot more sense. I only watched the anime version so I was wondering why Jotaro was suddenly praising Koichi so highly. It definitely seemed out of place to me, having not read the manga.
Are you sure kira used algebra, I'm pretty sure that's trigonometry
thats triggering man i understand you. o feel the same way abt Phantom Blood's anime missing details such as how Jonathan met Danny (drown flashback) absent from the anime. Part 4 is my fav but seeing small details with a big impact not in the anime upsets me
Writing out that much for a minor nitpick is a bit contradictory. TV shows, cartoons, anime - they can all be completely contradictory and forgetful all the time. JoJo's has multiple examples of this throughout all the parts (Zeppeli not having children, DIO's moles etc.). I'm going to guess that two different animators did those two shots of Koichi and just never properly communicated, and no-one bothered to fix it.
I think this isn't a fair argument, I think you're complaining about the anime and not the story.
I still have no idea if that guy was an alien, this unknown will haunt me forever I'm sure.
Kody A. And the fact that araki isnt going to explain it ever pisses me off
I'm honestly willing to bet he's an Alien. No hole/wound from the arrow (just a tiny cut, whereas everyone else was straight up PIERCED), he didn't see Crazy Diamond (cause if he did, I don't think he would've lied about it, since that looks like that might've been the first stand he ever saw if it was), those elf ears tho, and the ice cream in his bag. HOW DOES A HUMAN JUST SO HAPPEN TO HAVE STILL FROZEN ICE CREAM IN HIS BAG WITHOUT BEING AN ALIEN?!
Kody A. I like that Araki never actually revealed wether or not he was actually an Alien
I've always thought that he was an alien with a stand ability...
@@freyja3153 Ah, the "Why not both?" explanation. Classic.
7:10 the audacity of this denial ☠️☠️☠️☠️
The way you narrated the part about Kira made me realize how horrifying he actually is. Part 4, despite having its darker moments is still told in a pretty light-hearted way, but imagine if it was told more like a horror story, that could've worked really well, too
One of my favorite things about Part 4's final battle is the sense of Duality between Josuke and Kira. Both their personalities, social identities and stands are made to be opposites of one another, which is a hell of a lot more interesting than two time-stopping stands going at it.
Joskue is also a seriously underrated protagonist imo. Everybody always points to Johnny's realistic flaws or Jotaro's heroic stoicism, but Josuke is basically an extremely refined repackage of the first three JoJos before him. He personifies traits from them while still maintaining a sense of his own identity. He isn't an invincible badass like Jotaro, he's a teenager trying to take on the role of a hero. Hell, he was able to stand out as the undeniable "main character" in a story that featured both one of the most Iconic shounen leads of all time *and* Koichi Hirose. (which is more than I can say about Giorno, sadly)
It's cause they're going by the anime which ever-so-slightly kinda downplayed Josuke's sense of humor (& further development of Crazy D showcased at the end of the Transmission Tower arc, skipping that whole part. Not to mention Kira's ability to calculate distances/measurements on the spot, which is kinda Gappy whole thing, no?)
The parallel represented through their stands further highlights their duality, as one repairs (Josuke) the other destroys. ( Kira)
mahamed yusuf yes even their songs are the complete opposite. Goddamn I want to be like araki when I grow up.
The fact that Josuke and Kira are such complete opposites to each other with all the aspects you pointed out really always intrigued me as it's something I realized that I don't see that often in media nowadays in that way: being both so blatant yet subtle.
You have a teenager from what people would say is a "broken" family since he's raised by a single mother though he does have a grandfather who's a cop (in Asia, single-parent families do tend to get ostracized, especially if it's a single mother), he dresses like a delinquent and explodes if you insult his hair, and he seemingly has no friends and even got picked on in the first episode (before Koichi, I noticed Josuke, while having female admirers, didn't seem to have friends, though to be fair he was starting high school). Yet he's not a delinquent at all: he may be frivolous and greedy at times, but Josuke, at his heart, is a good kid.
Then you have a man past thirty with an established career. He was the single child of a traditional and well-off family with parents who loved him. He is polite when spoken to, and he dresses well and appears normal. But underneath, he is a highly intelligent (seriously, purposely taking 3rd place in everything he did only to get off the radar? That hints Kira may very well be able to easily win second or first if he wanted, and he was highly aware of his twisted nature when he was young), and cunningly cold serial killer who won't hesitate to harm anyone, even a child, if theey stood in the way of his goals. Yet that goal is so simple: to live a normal life. Even in Kira's mannerisms, you realize something is off with him: his way of speaking and staring appears monotone and blank compared to Josuke who's more animated and lively.
Their Stands, as mahamed yusuf pointed out, also really well reflects the duality. Not only does Josuke's heal while Kira's destroys, but their appearances alone are another indicator. Josuke's Crazy Diamond has some resemblance to a knight in shining armour with a more human appearance - despite his delinquent appearance, Josuke is like a knight in shining armour with his good heart and generally saving people (Koichi, Okuyasu, Mikitaka, Rohan, etc.).
Meanwhile, Kira's Killer Queen, though with a human body, has a cat's head with slit-like eyes and a cold metallic quality to its skin. There's also something about Killer Queen's appearance (perhaps the lower "garments" and even aspects of the signature pose) that reminds me of a Muay Thai kickboxer - Muay Thai being one of the most brutal martial arts which perfectly reflects Kira's actual brutal nature.
Super Eyepatch Wolf doing a video on my favourite anime and manga series? Yes please!
This is the best Christmas present.
Even Speedwagon is happy
*Gargle spit* SpeeeedwaGONnnn
Great video for Christmas it’s a jojos bizarre Adventure video
Christmas came early.
7:18 "now... give yourself a big hug."
A fighting manga where none of the characters ever throw a punch? Done.
Constantly changing the main character/setting/story of your manga? Done.
Ridiculous outfits with occasional homoerotic undertones? Done.
Jotaro's hat? Done.
Is it still good? Amazing.
I think this is subconsciously why people love Jojo's - Araki can do anything.
And thus, this is also a reminder to the creative fans that *YOU* can do anything. Don't limit yourself.
Killer queen has already touched the like button

As if he has enough restraint to only reference one thing :D

Goddammit Matt, leave Eyepatchwolf alone already.
@@moonmannd7501 good times
kira is definitely my favorite villain. he's disgusting all right but as a villain, he doesn't actually have a typical villain goal. like he doesn't want to become the strongest man or stuff like that, he's just a man with a (really weird) "hobby" who wants to live a quiet and peaceful life. it's so refreshing to me, he will do anything to avoid any kind of attention to himself. plus, he has like 4 abilities and killer queen's stand design is really cool
I love the atmosphere these videos of yours give off, it seems like a quiet intimate conversation and it works great as background noise while I'm drawing
tbh the Nijimura Brothers part with the Father and the Picture made me shed a tear
that was the only bit in JoJo that actually made me cry. well, that and SHIIIIZAAA
@@Busshhu uh what about narancia abacchio kakyoin buccierati lmao how could you not cry
@@m00nluvr1 because those moments didn't make me cry
@@Busshhu oh ok
Don’t forget that part of Jotaro’s “softening” may also be due to the fact that he IS a father at this point. Not necessarily a great dad but hey, at least he didn’t bring his daughter with him to hunt down a deadly stand user. Actually, axe all that.
Don’t forget that at this point Jotaro is a marine biologist and has become the true Ocean Man, discovering the love of the dolphins.
TBAFilms idk if araki planned that far
And then he later became a dolphin ua-cam.com/video/TH43HRLINVU/v-deo.html&t=
Stand user: Jotaro Kujo
Stand name: Ocean Man
Yeah, Araki usually doesn't plan that far ahead. I'd say that the softening was thanks to his friends in part 3 and due to the fact that now he's an adult with a job.
Same also applies to Joseph who in part 2 was very immature and violent.
Nah, it would have been a much better part if Jolyne came with him, just think of all the cute moments he could have had trying to act tough with his daughter around! Oh wait, then he wouldn't have been such a shit dad and part 6 wouldn't have happened....
I'm conflicted about what I want now : I
I always love coming back to watch these videos. Perfectly encapsulates how i feel about this amazing series that I still watch over from time to time. Ty for such a banger!
The best koichi moment by far was when act three said “Let’s kill da hoe, beetch”.
Then he takes a personality turn and is all like "indon't give a fuck" then flips back to normal when josuke smashes in
😂 i needed a second to process that moment haha
Evidence to support why Rohan is definitely a self-insert character:
Araki is a mangaka... Rohan is a mangaka
Araki's favorite colour scheme is minty green and white... Rohan is often coloured that way
Araki loves drawing peeling skin... Rohan's stand makes skin peel
Heaven's Door is one of the most op stands
Araki said he would have Heaven's Door as a stand... you get the idea
Araki has a fascination with Italian culture... Rohan went to Italy way too many times to count
Araki based Morioh off of his hometown... Rohan lives in Morioh-cho
Also he drew himself hugging Rohan
I think rohan personality is what araki wanted to be, but unfortunately his personality is more soft like Josuke imo
>Araki based Morioh off of his hometown... Rohan lives in Morioh-cho
I mean, I believe that, but it still feels odd to me.
Somehow Morioh seems so untypical for a Japanese town. I have spend quite some time in Japan and Morioh doesn't remind me a lot of what I saw there. It seems very... western to me.
It's why the live action set Morioh in a town from Spain.
Also, Heavens Door is a stand that lets it's user potentially know everything about anyone they meet, and allows them to "edit" that person, writing rules or additional information into them. It's a wonderful plot device, and is as close to being the author of the story as you could get, without breaking into reality alteration & predetermination.
I just found JoJo less than 2 weeks ago, and i finished part 4 a few days. This show is the best thing ive seen since Hunter x Hunter
Cas um. .fmab?
FMAB is too overrated.
At some point i want to try fmab, but i didn't enjoy fma a lot, so it is hard to start.
FMAB is not a battle shonen, it's more plot-oriented, so I can see why some people may dislike it, that being said, the second half of the series is leagues above the first, so continue watching.
makes sense why one wouldnt like it fmab is a piece of art
scrubs like u dont like art *shrug*
The editing in this, with the music on top, makes watching this really smooth and chill
Just finished part 4. Loved how josuke was the most relatable of all the jojos.I would have liked to see more development on Joseph and josukes relationship. The finale was a little lackluster if you ask me. Wasn't the huge underdog fight that I enjoyed from the first 3 parts. I loved jotaros mentor role and actually getting to watch him crack a smile once and a while -- Even though he got his ass kicked more than the most powerful stand user should but glad to see he got in the final blow for the finale. The goodbye to the ghost girl and her dog felt too contrived. She didnt get enough development for me to care that much about her. Most of the charecters at her farewell hadn't even seen or spoken with her before. All and all great season 8/10.
This right here!!! Exactly how I feel, they gave so much screen time to characters that I had no emotional connection to ://
That's not true.
Right after Rohan met her and they learned about Kira, they had a giant meeting with every stand user in the city so she could explain to everyone what was going on. It was part of the reason why the salon owner was killed. So it makes total sense that they would all reconvene in order to give her a proper send off after they avenged her
Also i was annoyed at the end suddenly jotaro, rohan and Koichi went deaf. When jotaro said "Oh sorry i thought i heard Josuke screaming but it was just the rain" i lost my shit
@@IWantToStayAtYourHouse In the manga the rain is a heavy one but the reason why in the anime it doesn’t sound heavy because we won’t hear characters dialogues which kinda make sense, that’s what’s I heard
"Part 2's so so villains" EXCUSE YOU?! I'll have you know that the Aztek gods of fitness are great! They are mysterious, intimidating and Wammu is second only to the one true bae Speedwagon!

there must be no other videos as beautiful as this video
Kira remains the most unique final boss of any shonnen to this day, who would’ve imagined someone whose life goal is to live a simple life would’ve been so threatening
This is the thousand time i watch this video and this is literally one of my favorite videos out there. Every aspect of part 4 is covered in the exact same way as I see it. Growing up with manga i read part 4 as a 16 year old, so i could relate to Josuke really well, I had 3 really close friends just like him, I was as tall as him and I lived in the smallest town in my country. Part 4 means so much to me and this video just explains why, really good work.

love your work. you seem pasionnate about what you're talking and you bring it with calm but still makes it interesting. keep it up
I wonder why Araki like Rohan so much. Rohan is just the best manga artist in the universe, a very powerfull Stand user and says constantly how intriguing JoJo's story is in the introduction. Hmmmm....
