Now I've heard about another legend this one states that sometimes on dark rainy days MILFs who are alone in bed can hear just out of the corner of the dark room.

    Fugo wasnt written out for his OP ability. He was to be a brought back into the story as a traitor, but Araki was depressed at the time and didnt want someone he saw as a friend betray him. And Fugo staying makes sense in the story; Fugo was an objective thinker,so he knew the best course of action was to not betray the boss

    • @mastermarkus5307

      I don't like it because he has several moments in the story where he is obviously hinted at being more important and him leaving so unceremoniously without being heard from again felt very unplanned. I honestly have a bit of hope that his part in the series gets re-written in the anime, as I think it would be relatively easy for him to have left the team, betrayed them, but then come back because of his emotional connection to them.

    • @dumbledoresnape656
      @dumbledoresnape656 6 років тому +61

      Master Markus araki himself has said that fugo was to be a traitorous character. That part isn't up for debate. Second, there are two spin off light novels that focus on fugo and what he did after giorno became the new boss

    • @mastermarkus5307
      @mastermarkus5307 6 років тому +4

      I wasn't debating that. I just thought he should have gone through with that plan, and if the idea of a betrayal was really too emotionally hard for him, I would have had Fugo switch sides again, so that he's ultimately on the side of the "heroes".
      Yes, I know about the spin-off novels, but they aren't by Araki and aren't considered canon as far as I know.

      People like Dio and Kira because they are huge monsters, people like Stroheim because he is an awesome dude bro who just so happens to also be a huge nazi piece of shit.
      It's a weird relationship people how with the character because they often forget that the first time you see him he murders a whole village of people for literally no reason. He does end up saving the world from Vampire Aztec Gods of Fitness however so you could say it sort of balances it out in a way.

    • @charlienash1050

      It's a work of art as you just see it. JoJo makes characters like Dio, Kira, Stroheim, Wammu and so many more villains who you should be disgusted by and make them so likeable. Dio and Kira are basically Memes although Kira is actually a well-written character and Dio is just undeniably favored. Strohiem is not as filthy as we might think Nazis were and Wammu was basically how you make people sad when a villain dies. He was a bad guy, yet people couldn't help themselves and became sad. That's how villains can be so great

    the generational storytelling is to me the best aspect of jojo, allowing characters to have complete arcs, then step down to let someone else take the reins and have there arc, so many anime try way to hard to cling to whats already there and end up with a stagnant character either repeating the same things over and over(ala the pokemon anime) or powerscaling themselves to hell(ei dragon ball continued escalation to where goku is literally punching out gods) allowing both the plot, and the main character, and thus there powerlevel to reset helps keep it grounded, well as grounded as jojo can be
    like imagine if instead z passed the reins onto gohan and goku would stay dead(or at least had some sort of limitation placed on him, like reviving him more meant he was loosing strength or simply like joseph he was getting old) so what came after frieza dident necessarily have to be stronger then him, which would also make them able to do a "Friezas returned" arc and have it be terrifying without him pulling a new form out his but in record time, because sure we beat him once but are our current heroes as strong as goku was back then?

    • @roachies4242
      @roachies4242 4 роки тому +13

    • @Scarshadow666
      @Scarshadow666 3 роки тому +4

      Definitely agree that it's one of the best things about the franchise!
      And another great thing about the power-scaling taking a backseat to the conflicts the characters get into is that it forces them to use their wits more with the powers that they have, making for more interesting fights imo! ^^

    So around March of last year, I kind of fell into a rut with my life. I was making friends with really bad and malicious people and I didn't feel like my life was going anywhere. However, one day during a standardized testing period, me and one of my friends finished early and had about two hours to kill. So we traded books, I gave him a British gaming magazine I bought when I went to England a while back, and he gave me a copy of the first volume of Jojo. As soon as I started reading it, I was hooked. I only knew Jojo at that time as this meme anime about buff dudes punching each other whilst screaming nonsense battle cries. But reading it, it was so much more than that. It was no other manga I ever read. All of the cliches that detoured me away from the medium were gone. The bright, big eyed, kawaii waifus in a Japanese setting that I've come to know were replaced with darker, somewhat realistically proportioned buff men in 1880's London. I actually cared for the characters (I almost screamed "NO FUCKING WAY!" when Dio kissed Erina, but there were still people testing and I probably would have been suspended if I did). The volume ended right when Dio got the mask and became a vampire, and I wanted more.
    In April, I found a fan translation of Stardust Crusaders on the internet and I read that any chance that I could and finished it in May. As soon as that was done, I already started reading Diamond is Unbreakable (the best Jojo part) and finished that in July. I also got one of my best friends, who had never touched an anime or manga in his life to read it and he became a fan just like I did. I feel like Jojo was one of my coping methods to help me get through this somewhat rough period in my life. Like I said before, I felt like my life wasn't going anywhere. But I could forget all of that and read about Jojo, his friends and their weird punching ghosts named after 70's and 80's music. Not only that, but I feel like Jojo also gave some much needed self-esteem in a time where it felt like no one was helping me. I started to draw Jojo fan art which revived my interest in drawing after not doing it for a long while. It also showed me that even though you're weird, quirky, and not like anybody else, people will still love you. I started to talk to actual people and not anonymous text on Discord and I could have never been happier in the state I am right now. My creativity (in my opinion) is the best it's ever been and so is my social skills, and it's all thanks to some series started 30 years ago about a British man's struggle against a gay vampire.
    The fandom is also one of the most chill fandoms on the internet. Nobody takes anything too seriously and for the most part, they act mature and civilized. Plus, Jojo fans create the best memes.
    In all seriousness, I owe a lot to this series. It's one of the most important and special series' that I have seen in my short lifetime and I hold it near and dear to my heart.
    Thanks, Araki.
    Also PART 5 COMING OUT IN OCTOBER WOOOOOOOOOOO!!

    JoJo is just an incredibly versatile and easy-to-pick-up show. I am a verified anime snob. For the longest time I saw anime (aside from DB, growing up with it) as this trashy genre of either really stupid and childish animation or just plain pervy nonsense. One day I decided to give this weird show called JoJo a shot and suddenly I was hooked. I'm still not going to watch most of the standard anime around, but I am devouring JoJo, both the manga and the anime, like crazy. I'm borderline jonesing for more JoJo content that I can get easily (like a mobile game or finding a cheap copy of one of the newer games). It's impressive. And I think the mix of incredibly strange stories, weirdly beautiful art and a kinetic energy that I've only ever seen portrayed in the DB Mangas is what makes the show so compelling.
    Also the "personal connection" goes a long way. You can see that same thing with Doctor Who. Any Who fan has his favourite Doctor, favourite sidekick and so on, much like everyone has a favourite JoJo (so far.. Joseph!)

Part 2 was great, I had a blast listening to the soundtrack and the over-the-top voice acting. Part 3 absolutely blew me away, hands down my favorite part of the series so far, although I'm only halfway through Diamond is Unbreakable. While in Dragonball, battles are always determined of who can power up the most at the end.
    In Naruto, it usually comes down that the character has to land his 1 special attack (rasengan or whatever) while in the process, you use different tactics, so that you can land that 1 attack fully or faster.
    In One Piece, it‘s about who can endure the most, just so that an asspull can occure after a 10 episode long battle for the hero to win.
    In Bleach, it‘s mostly about to upgrade your strongest attack troughout the fight or even the Arc.
    Fairy Tail is just straight up Trash
    But Jojo? In Jojo, every battle is a puzzle. At first, you need to complete the puzzle to first understand what is going on, what the enemy is using and understand the situation. Only after you complete the puzzle, you understand what is going on and the situation and *then* you can start figuring out how to defeat the enemy.

      I agree, Starsdust Crusaders was a big disappointment for me. It is not bad, but after great Battle Tendency (which is my favorite part so far) I my expectations would be very high and despite of the good animation (best in the Jojo so far) and very good idea of adventure from Japan to Egypt, this part is the second worst after part 1 (haven’t read the manga, may be I will do it after part 5 anime). But there are some good moments, which I really like. For example, fight vs D’Arby and fight animal vs animal, but in general I would like that part 3 would be shorter and sometimes more serious with more interesting villain or with less second-rate villains.

      Yeah, Araki focused more on creativity of battles in part 3 rather than characterization. He got overboard in part 6 by exaggerating some abilities. He admitted that's the peak of his creativity but part 7 turned out to be better at most aspects like art, plot progression, characterization, and parallel abilities. Part 3 and 6 main cast is better than 4 and 7 (with the exception of Gyro, Johnny, and Diego) overall though. 5 still had the best cast.

    Modern anime/manga seem to rely closer and closer to our "normal" reality. Even if they're isekai or actual abnormal worlds, they're still trying to ship the "irl" vibe, while JoJo's just admits and stands to what it is: Bizarre. It doesn't even tries in the slightest to even come close to our "normal reality" neither does it try to sell the "irl" vibe and that's what I personally like about the anime. It just knows what can and can't and just outright shows it.

    Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is loved for the same reasons Homestuck, Undertale and Rick and Morty are loved: it's absurd, the creator is having a blast with his work, there's a serious plot that somehow allows silly stuff to happen, tropes are broken, the protagonists use creativity and determination instead of brute force, and it inspires fans to create their own stuff.

    • @Timothan
      @Timothan 6 років тому +2

      and like Homestuck, Undertale and Rick and Morty, if you have half a brain you'll probably find it to be complete shit.

      Wow, way to be a jerk and ruin what others like. Those stories may be absurd and ridiculous, but they give people laughs and make them explores their creativity, even if there's better stuff. So I ask you with all due respect to GET THE HECK OUT OF MY POST AND DON'T RUIN STUFF FOR PEOPLE THAT ARE FANS!

    • @arturoreyescortez2476
      @arturoreyescortez2476 6 років тому +18

      Homestuck became a massive hit between 2009 and 2013, and it has new merchandise that people still buy; Undertale was made by two people in just two years, and it gained a really big fandom faster than Homestuck; Rick and Morty started as parody show in UA-cam, and later became a famous adult cartoon that even got a Rick themed car that crossed the United States. That is quite professional.

    • @arturoreyescortez2476
      @arturoreyescortez2476 6 років тому +18

      Homestuck's creator is currently working with Viz Media and is making his indie company into something more professional; Undertale may be an indie game, but it was well managed and sold some merch. The fact that something is made by a small group of people doesn't take away from professionalism. Many professionals started as indie producers, and many indie producers had experience working small jobs at professional companies.

    • @arturoreyescortez2476
      @arturoreyescortez2476 6 років тому +7

      I think of professionalism as getting a team that organizes to finish a product on time, and legal documents stating that everything is legal and copyrighted. Without copyrights and an official legal platform your works could be considered like casual fiction stories published on the internet without making money. For example, Hussie's previous works weren't so professional since they weren't completed on time, got forgotten easily, have no merch to sell, and were done just as an experiment before the more serious works. Also, some people that were famous fanartists in the fandom got hired by Hussie, and later they made their own professional thing, like Shelby Cragg and Toby Fox. Of course, Hussie made many unprofessional decisions because he sucks at administrating big projects that require a big team, like the scandal caused by the company that stole the money he was going to use for Hiveswap.

    Jojo is my favorite anime ever. I love it so much I did a reading of Jorge Joestar for my channel, made a Kira cosplay and I even platinumed Eyes Of Heaven in about a week. Half my wall is covered in Jojo fan art from conventions. If Part 5 doesn’t get announced soon I might actually die tbh
    Also Jolyne is best girl

    14:41 this is not exactly true, Fugo was supposed to be a traitor (well, not a traitor making him a traitor... read part5) that's why his stand his OP af, it was supposed to be an ennemi stand, but when it was supposed to happen araki didn't liked the idea (rumor said he was in a bit of depression and thought the idea of a friend becoming a traitor really sad and unpleasant) so he write him off the story
    PS: if you want closer on Fugo's character read purple haze feedback, it's great

      "rumor said he was in a bit of depression and thought the idea of a friend becoming a traitor really sad and unpleasant"
      Yeah, because having an ex-cop character with a backstory of having to deal with corruption and other such bullshit, having his beliefs about being just and fair crushed, passing through an existential crisis about it, having his best friend killed in front of his eyes because of something he's done wrong before, and finally joining the mafia (after living an entire life of wanting to become a cop, an ally of the law) in a desperate attempt at finding purpose in his life isn't really depressing, at all.
      Or a boy (more like a manchild, actually) who despite his many quirks and having a bit of an aggressive personality grows on you throughout the story, and only wanted it all to finish to return to his home town and have a peaceful life, only to get killed so suddenly there was nothing any of the other characters could do about it.
      And those two things happened shortly before and during (respectively) the arc where Fugo would show up.
      I don't think it had anything to do with depression, Araki also wanted to introduce time travelling near the end of Part 4 to explain more about the story of Josuke's savior (probably making Josuke himself his own savior) but that was also dropped for whatever reason. But we had (speaking of time travelling) the Bites the Dust arc anyway, arguably one of the best moments ever in JoJo, so it's probably not that bad.

    • @Spyko-
      @Spyko- 6 років тому +9

      well Kergen185 provided a link to Araki thought on that matter (the comment right before yours) *_"I was really down during that period for certain personal matters."_* - *_"My state of mind was so dark that the stories I wrote were becoming more and more evil, but in my heart I was starting to hate this behavior as time passed. Also, my heart broke just thinking about how Buccellati would feel."_* so I don't know if it was depression by the medical standard, but he was feeling down and didn't kept cheese-outfit boy as a traitor for that reason
      tho I do agree that the backstories of the characters are as, if not more, dark than Fugo betraying his friends, I guess that backstories and event we directly witness aren't the same intensity ?

    • @inendlesspain4724
      @inendlesspain4724 6 років тому +6

      Oh... seems like I found your comment and replied to it just before Kergen185 posted his, so I didn't know because it wasn't updated.
      But it's interesting to know that Araki's "depression" (or whatever he was passing through) actually made his stories darker, kinda like how Hideaki Anno's depression led him to make Eva the way he did.
      Also, it's kinda weird when I read a JoJo part for the first time of which I've heard people talk about it's weirdest and quirkiest moments (Josuke "fixing" spaghetti, Giorno drinking piss, the Passione dance, Jolyne masturbating in a jail cell and feeling jealous about snails, etc.) but then I read about these dark and somewhat believable (they usually don't involve stands, but things that could happen to anyone) backstories and I'm like "dude... why is nobody talking about this?".

    whats great about JoJo...
    a combat system so intricate and strategic that Nen is the only thing i can think of thats more complex;
    Poses that are so manly that they become gay, and then so gay that they become manly again;
    one of the most diverse casts of characters ever, somewhere in there is a character you will love for some reason or another (young Joseph best husbando);
    villains that span everything from "evil for the sake of it" to "good guy from the wrong perspective" to "just wants to live a quiet life;"
    a writing style that makes it so i could tell you everything about an enemy stand, and it wouldn't spoil anything at all, because how you use it matters just as much as what it does;
    David Productions anime adaptation. just. the sound design is perfect. the bullshit they pull with the OP's are amazing. their willingness to not stick exactly to what the manga shows in order to tell a more cohesive story. their willingness to show exactly what the manga shows to give a perfect scene.
    tldr: in short, everything.

    • @DixyRae
      @DixyRae 6 років тому +5

      Nen is STUPIDLY complex. It's mindbogglingly impressive that Togashi is even managing his current pace of 10 chapters a year with the amount of characters, factions, powers and rules in the Dark Continent Arc. He absolutely could not do the "make it up as you go" style that Araki does with Jojo given the scope of the story he wants to tell.

    After getting into the show because of MEMES, I realized why people love to use frames from the show as meme material, make references to JoJo and why it is so god damn good. I loved the unconvential approach to everything that the Anime shows had to offer from the parts that I've watched atleast so far, so Part 1 to 3. You hit the nail pretty well. The show shits its own genre over the course of time when the JoJo we are following is replaced. That shift in the genre is what keeps it fresh and what made my expectations always miss the nail. I mean for example with Part 2 I was expecting a JoJo similar to that of Jonathan Joestar, just more fitting to the time piece and some slight changes to the personality. I lost my shit when he pulled out a fucking Tommy Gun in that Cafe scene early on in the show and just guns down that Vampire guy ,despite knowing it won't do much. For me that was a clear indication that this JoJo is completly different and so would the story be. That's where I laughed the most and thats where I Loved the show the most. You expect one thing and then things happen differently. That formular so far worked out like a charm and is what makes it great....
    ..besides the stylistic choices in the art and characters. I know I repeat basicly what has been said before, but the choice of using strong, vibrant colours and sometimes ignoring logical choices and instead going for what looks cool makes it not boring to watch and lets the anime stand out. Personally, I love the way characters are portrait as these super strong, muscular men that act like they are on a catwalk as models , getting photographed . Every scene looks so extra stylized , its hard not to enjoy the overall experience. The shows did not take themselves too serious and that is great as well! While I wouldn't say that JoJo as a whole is a parody, it feels like one, with its own twist to whatever it is inspired by. I know it isn't a straight up parody, but I can't help it. It has the feels of one. And I love it for being this weird thing that hit bursted through the mainstream shit like a bullet. There are plenty of Anime out there that may have different names, but all feel the same when you watch them. JoJo manages to be its own thing.
    I haven't read the Manga yet, but the show alone has so much charm that so many other shows skip to have to be memorable. This is probably why JoJo memes excist everywhere. So many good lines, so many good scenes. So much stuff that can and will be used as a quote somewhere. The show is over the top a lot of times but not too much either. It had the right pacing of WTF moments and that is why JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is so glorious!

    I almost cried watching this. My life was that of a normal lonely teenager until i decided to hear some dude in the AM chat in Pokemon Showdown and read Jojo in its entirety in a month. I was thrilled by this work, i never saw something like this, but somehow no one knew about the bizarre adventures here in Argentina... but i was wrong, and just like the work of an enemy stand, the gravity pulled me towards a lot of people who could as well be Users in the world of Jojo. Now I had friends that felt like family, i had their love and respect and i learnt a lot, i grew immensely as a person as i continued to plunge into this franchise. Today, i abandoned the love train, im parting ways with some stuff though i am still active in my community, but i will never forget the ride, even if i go really far away, even if the journey is over, thanks, my friends. To see this, to see the growth of Jeff and how all began with a little tale about muscly guys posing and screaming while fighting, is something i can only describe as a "gift" and a "blessing" for the simple fact of showing light over a road that we walked towards happiness... without accelerating the damned time and resetting the whole fucking universe, just with a lovely 22:43 video. Thanks Jeff, ive never been really close with your content, but im really happy for pressing that subscribe button.
