I love Josuke because he has the second most fun personality of the Jojos(behind his dad) and has by several miles the best MC stand. He comes off as a badass while also feeling like a teenager, something Jotaro and Giorno failed at.

In the same way Emporio used pucci in sped up time to cripple him with weather report, it’s easy to say that the increased and multiplied speed of gravity toward MIH pucci would most likely be able to instantly take care of pucci, and if not, okuyasu would be able to finish the job, seeing as the only thing defending him would be his incredible speed, which happens to be crippling him in that very moment

I definitely see why this is a valid take away, I don't think he's in the part enough, but I almost think its in Araki's style of making group centered stories that makes it so the main character is only every a piece of the group and nit centre stage, which I think works well. I think about part 3 and 5 especially to this degree as both have their jojo not be in the spotlight as much to compensate for the unit. Jotaro and Giorno are usally in the background unless during key fights while characters like Joseph and Bruno are at the helm, with the same if not more motivation for the Jojo of the part. In short, I think Josuke's lack of screentime is just a symptom of the writing focusing on more than one player. Koichi is definitely as much a protagonist as Josuke and there's argument to say Rohan also becomes a main protagonist because of his focus and motivation post Kira introduction and is ther with Jotaro to do the heavy lifting. This all culminates during Bites The Dust, when Rohan is at the centre directly trying to find Kira, Josuke takes what he learned from Jotaro to fight Kira, and through Koichi's developed ability over the full part, only then is the stage set for Kira's demise. I think that for what was trying to be done he fufilled his role as a key character but he wasn't the sole main character
honestly, I'd prefer a story involving many characters as their own protagonists and not just one, I know Jotaro is the JOJO GOAT but he tends to carry the plot too much in parts 3, 4 and even 6. (except 5 , he only cameoed in it.) its a nice change of pace for a series so 'BIZARRE' (hehe, get it?) don't you think?

He's my favorite after Jolyne. I like to argue how the Bites the Dust tussle is my favorite fight of the first 5 Parts of JoJo. Josuke interpolates just about everything he learned about Crazy D throughout Part 4 into that fight - right down to a panel from the manga version of the Transmission Tower arc, "I can't fix back this guy's (wet, slippery) blood that's already down here!" From that line we are led to potentially consider/infer, like, "huh...so, I wonder what else he can do with 'blood' after he got his own both on & in the shoulder of Kira?" which leads into his own dried-dead-blood-bending Crazy Diamond healing exploit for massive damage - which essentially won his portion of the fight (using the gun-firing power of Crazy D's flick - which he learned to do in the Ratt arc). &, just as much, I find an even stronger case insofar as Hayato's mother, Shinobu, very-suddenly falling for Kira perhaps due to the Cinderella Stand's lingering effect it may have had on him. His good luck/fate really dictated those events for him, and while he thought Hayato did everything for him - he only further counteracted his luck by being a creepy kid maybe almost as much as Kira was a creepy dude.
I wouldn't say Hayato is as creepy as Kira cause Kira is just on a whole other level. If I could give a theory, I would say both Shinobu's infatuation and Hayato spying on them are Cinderella Stand's lingering effect since because of those trait from them that let the others to find Kira. Kinda like fate send him into the worst case scenario for someone to discover his true identity
A lot of what was found as an issue I found enjoyable because of the writing. This season feels relaxing at times and completely insane at others. It implements stands in everyday uses and regular human wants and uses the whole cast to do it. It has a Saturday morning cartoon vibe to it but is still current and engaging in episodes that don’t move the plot. It’s refreshing to see a jojo so happy go lucky yet still as compelling. I’m waiting for another season like this one!
I really is more on how you want your shows. I loved the slice of life take, I love seeing stand users with everyday lives and while many start out using it for bad learn how to use it in a postive way rather than focusing them on majority villains who die. It's nice getting to see most of the characters manage to live and not have a death crazy season for allies and minor antagonists while still keeping it overall compelling and having a very dark undertone with Kira-- managing to balance a much different genre of sorts with the standard jjba style. But if people like jjba for the horror, for the violence and direct action of good vs bad/moral vs immoral then people aren't going to enjoy it despite the writing and more unique take on what it means to live in this world with a stand.
Josuke isn’t the only one who feels like a side character in his own story. In part 3 Polnareff gets far more character development and is in more fights than Jotaro, similar with Bruno in part 5 who gets much more character development than Giorno.
Initially I wasn't a huge fan of Josuke, but after my recent rewatch of DiU he grew on me more. Hugely enjoyable protagonist who gets great interactions with all the cast, and his theme is so good! Definitely the JoJo I'd want to be friends with irl
I think it makes sense for Josuke to be "side lined" in this part, since it's in direct contrast to Kira. Kira thinks the world is all about himself, and that the world is his playground to do whatever he wants with and he only thinks about himself, while being a rather isolated person. Meanwhile, Joskue's stand can heal anyone, but himself since he puts others before himself and the stand reflects that, and unlike Kira who only thinks/acts on his own, Joskue always works best when he is part of a team.
The problem with Josuke/Kira dynamic is that there is none. The character never actually "meet" until the final fight. The fact that kira appears vs shigechi, and the sheer heart attack arc is the first and only fight before he goes into hiding kills all pacing with his character. If there was a fight in between in which our characters meet and have a little confrontation, even if they pull the "they are doing something next to eachother without knowing who the other guy is" to atleast have a baseline interaction so that their opposing designs can work off eachother they could have a really fun dynamic. But since Kira went into hidding so early on, Kira's dad steals the spotlight that should had been Kira's showing off his character to the group, instead we get Kira showng off his character to randoms in the street and the Kawajiri family, and don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE daily life with the kawajiris, but Josuke is not a part of that, making Kira more of his own character but reducing Josuke's part in it.
I understand a lot of your points, Josuke definitely definitely feels like a secondary character by the end. But I think when I sit back and look at it he’s still my absolute favorite Jojo and part 4 is my favorite in the series. I think that the other Jojo’s are total badasses. Practicals larger than life heroes especially the first 3. But just like how Araki said Josuke feels like a big bro or a reliable upperclassman. Someone I don’t look up to in the sense that they’re larger than life but like someone I’d want to have as a best friend. To know they’ve got my back if something happens and that I’d be willing to return the favor for. I’d rather be one of the guys in the “Duwang” gang😂 then where I’d want to fantasize about being the hero like the other Jojos. Though l do wish it was say more of a team effort to beat Kira. Which is what I think they where going for when Jotaro takes in that breath imagining all the other teammates before he OraOras Kira into the ground. Also mad respect for the Billy Kametz tribute at the end. RIP you crazy diamond.

Part 4 is my favorite part, but I'd have to say I agree. Josuke needed more attention, and Jotaro not giving him any props felt weird. I guess cause he was more conveniently available than Josuke, even though he did the most work

Josuke isn't my favorite but I think everything you've said against him actually works in his favor when you take into account the setting of Morioh that being the town itself is its own character and everything else even the superfluous aspects are to build itself up, even the characters treat it so with all the weird happenings and their descriptions of Morioh and Josuke represents MMorioh's heart, yeah hes passive, and in the search for Kira he didn't go out of his way to hunt for him, but he's always helped and supported EVERYONE (even the kanji of his name has support in it) Koichi, Jotaro, Hayato, even Rohan he's been pushing them up to win in the same way how it feels the town of Morioh is fighting alongside them, so that even if its not of Josuke's intention that only speaks more to how great of a support he is that he doesn't need to try to be one, he just is naturally. TL:DR: while Josuke isn't my favorite Jojo in the context of Morioh I believe he is the perfect protagonist for that setting
i love crazy diamond, its has great strength and speed that might be even better then jotaros but it does not have the worlds power, instead its power is simply to heal or reverse things back into a diffrent state, which you would think would be just an extremely useful utility and support ability but he turns it into a weapon when fighting kira and other beings, he uses it in such creative ways that he makes the ability really strong yet the ability does not feel broken especially since he cant just heal himself, if josuke could heal himself the ability would probs be on the top 5 best stands because as long as he can live fron his injuries he can survive anything, it also just means that josuke is stronger in a group because he can keep his allies alive and it means josuke can actually work as a team with his friends rather then his team members just being tag alongs that dont offer much josuke will always be a favorite of mine hes the most relatable joestar out there and tries to be the best, its an utter shame he never gets mentioned beyond his own part
I think if Kira just made a tiny comment about Josuke's hair at the end (like, "that kid with the ridiculous hair did this!") and then that gives Josuke just enough strength to get over there and beat his ass one last time before the ambulance finished him off, that would've been _great._

In this case, Jolyne had to further develop her powers even further through sheer determination and ingenuity and it payed for a bit. Obviously it wasn't enough in the grand scheme of things sense Pucci's Made in Heaven made him just as fast as it was, which some could say was hardly fair.
Josuke is the perfect example of nature vs nurture. He's so much like young Joseph. Only difference is that it took strazzo and speed wagon getting kidnapped and few deaths for Joseph to really shine

my theory for why Josuke didn't have Fungami sniff out Kira's location was because Josuke didn't fully trust him even after the fight with Enigma. The guy had just become an ally & Rohan was already close to the solution, so why bother trusting the guy who made it clear he doesn't want to get into more danger. Either this or the idea of sniffing out Kira's location had never crossed either Josuke & Fungami's mind. Edit: A potential 3rd option is Josuke did ask Fungami to sniff out Kira, but he flat out refused because he already made it clear he wants no part in hunting a serial killer
I think it works we to have Josuke how he is. Jotaro isn't Joseph, so him filling a different role makes sense. Josuke also doesn't "pass on the torch" himself, it's Jotaro who passes it to Jolene. Jotaro was designed by Araki to be a fulfillment of Jonathan, a sort of perfect hero.

Aww man. What part 4 was really needed was more turtles. (That fear is not the same as a catch phrase or something more common that induces rage) I disagree heavily with this analysis, though it is interesting part 4 is not perfect but the small town feel is why Kira's defeat is perfect. Kira basically wins until a small town kid throws a wrench into his plans. The entire main cast contributes to defeating Kira, Josuke does the heavy lifting and exposes Kira in public. Okuyasu saves Josuke from the bubble, Koichi slows him and Jotaro gets a good hit on him too. All of those things (besides Hayato calling in Josuke) can only happen because of Josuke's direct involvement. You could argue that the town comes together to defeat him as the main cast, a random kid and an ambulance all attempt to put a stop to the murderer haunting the town. Could have been better executed perhaps but people get so hung up on Jotaro 'kill stealing from Josuke' when it didn't really matter as Josuke already physically defeated Kira and brought him into the light.
Best part about DIU: mostly everything excluding shigechi Worst part of DIU: shigechi (and how overlooked josukes theme is compared to the other jojo's)
One thing I wish didn’t get dropped so quick is his grandfather’s death. It would’ve been a great motivation for Josuke to hunt down Kira as he would be protecting Morioh in Ryohei’s place. Saying Koichi is the real Jojo is crazy cap though, take that back.
My favourite protagonist is gotta be Yuji Itadori from Jujustu Kaisen. He’s like Josuke but he goes through a LOT of development and he is by far my favourite Jujustu Kaisen character.
I’ve been watching the series and just finished this part. Josuke was definitely my favorite so far and this was my favorite part as a whole by a long shot. At the risk of pissing people off tbh I don’t really understand the hype around this series. It’s basically just a standard monster of the week show and it certainly doesn’t have a deep plot or even deep characters really. It’s just kinda dumb fun. I actually had to skip to the end of Part 3 eventually because I was getting bored, but wanted to see the fight with Dio still. Part 4 though really entertained me with the slice of life mixed with that monster of the week style. Though I will say I find it incredibly bizarre how many characters in 4 do truly atrocious things they should be rotting in prison for at least and get forgiven for them so quickly. I’m going to keep watching for now but not sure if I’ll finish everything.

Watching part 4 I was getting increasingly annoyed at the amount of times that Jotaro’s the world was mentioned and not seen. Josuke is my favourite jojo and Okuyasu is my favourite jobro so I just had a lot of fun watching the action and the funny conversations. I was more pleased than anything seeing Jotaro actually use his powers at the end, he was portrayed as smart and menacing but would often bumble around or be just around the corner. The ending with Kira suits the part, where anything can happen, a slice of life story doesn’t need a main hero and I was just glad to see Jotaro get some action too
I just finished all of the JoJo anime parts and even though there were small details I didn't like and some of the endings were unsatisfying, it didn't change my opinion on the series because overall, it's great! I loved the characters and the story! I do wish some of the JoJo's had more memorable moments but that didn't make me love the series any less. I can't wait for Steel Ball Run to be adapted into an anime series. Also one last thing; What'd you just say about my hair?
You actually touched on one of my main problems with the ending to the Jojo parts. That being on how more than a few joestars don’t get the final blow against their villian. I always kinda felt like Jolyne and Johnny were robbed in their final fight. Part 5 was bittersweet for me because I feel like the rivalry was better setup between Bruno and diavolo than it was with giorno. Part 8 was fine I enjoyed the outcome to the battle but I’d prefer joestars being able to handle the outcome of their fights like Joseph and jotaro and not having a character with a specific stand ability that just so happens to be able to help beat the main villain’s OP stand powers.
@@jobbersupreme8720 yeah but that was still Johnny and Diego’s final battle even if it was AU. Johnny honestly took a lot of Ls in that part. He lost the corpse, the race, and his friend and couldn’t even beat the remaining villain but he got to walk and mend things with his dad so there’s that.
The final fight in Part 7 was against Diego, but Johnny's villain was Funny Valentine,and the confrontation between the two is arguably the most well-written moment in Jojo. Also, Pucci's nemesis was his brother Weather. The entire rivalry between them is one of the biggest aspects of Part 6. The payoff being Weather posthumously killing him was poetry.
I can feel where you're coming from with being disappointed that he didn't get to take out the main villain, but honestly for me? A guy who lived to see the end of the original Adventure Time series where Finn did literally FUCK-ALL in the FINAL EPISODE of his OWN GODDAMN SHOW? While Josuke is a bit "undercut" by his own part, I feel like what undercuts him the most is getting the "Jotaro" role of being the "tamer" glue between a cast of colorful characters while being himself a colorful character and having to contend with Jotaro for the spot of protagonist. So more than anything I think the problem is the Jotaro-Josuke duo, despite me really liking Part 4 Jotaro, since Josuke can't quite fill the same role as Jotaro did in his own part, and Jotaro is a lot less willing than Joseph to take a backseat to another character due to being far less laidback than his gramps.
Josuke has a deeper meaning like his stand inplais he cares for others more than for him self so the part being about him the side characters stand out more. sorry for bad english i'm guesing how to type those words because i'm lasy
I don't really think Joske was supposed to be the singular main character. I think it was intended that there were supposed to be multiple. It's doubled down in part 5 with the fact that Golden Experience is a support stand, not a fighter.
Jouske isn't THE main character, he's one of them. Part 4 and 5 are ensemble shows. Ita even directly stated by the show starting with someone else. It's not about him, it's about the stand users of the town and ridding their town of a mobster. And crazy diamond isn't a combat stabd. The hand is, star platinum is, sex pistols are. Crazy Diamond is a support stand which emphasizes the whole ensemble cast. I don't see how someone cant get this.
Josuke I say is probably my second favorite Jojo after Jonathan if you don’t talk shit about his hair lol. He a pretty honest chill and a good guy overall. I do agree he doesn’t get much spotlight after the first arc of part 4. But I think it’s because he had to share the spotlight with Koichi and Okuyasu. Which isn’t bad at all
i feel like for your points on how josuke was introduced like his fear of turtles, his hair, and the greato-daze thing youre missing the point of the first two at least. im not going to act like ik how many times josuke says greato-daze in the show, i forgot he even said that to be honest but for the fear of the turtles and how he gets mad at people insulting his hair those themselves arent character traits but represent his character traits. in the first episode hes shown trying to get over his fear of turtles, him being scared of turtles isnt supposed to be a ongoing gag, thatd suck and be boring, instead its showing the audience that josuke is a brave character who doesnt let his fears hold him back. although the hair is slightly more funny than the turtle thing, theres only so many times where you can fit that into the story with it seeming realistic and then also be funny to the audience. not to mention we know josuke doesnt really have a temper and we see how leaned back he is. knowing how hot headed he gets when someone makes fun of his hair shouldnt be in character for him, so we know his hair means a lot to him. the whole hair thing was a setup to his backstory and how he got the hairstyle. theres other points in your video too that i disagree with but im p sure theyre being talked about a lot so heres just something i dont think anyone else has mentioned.

1:20 something I was feeling throughout the entirety of part 5 was Giorno Giovanna didn't feel like a main character. Which is why sometimes I felt that instead of this feeling like Giogio's bizarre adventure it felt like brbu's bizarre adventure this is because Giorno got way less screen time than that other characters and near the first few episodes of it I genuinely checked off I am actually watching Jojo
I thought this initially, but then I realized on a rewatch that despite not having much screentime almost every event that happens throughout part 5 is influenced by Giorno.
Josuke should have joined Giorno (Stardust Joseph style) instead of suffering with Koichi instantly he is fixed Bonus points if he Survives and takes out atleast two of the (almost too) many bad guys and participates in the Dance

I like to argue how the Bites the Dust tussle is my favorite fight of the first 5 Parts of JoJo. Josuke interpolates just about everything he learned about Crazy D throughout Part 4 into that fight - right down to a panel from the manga version of the Transmission Tower arc, "I can't fix back this guy's (wet, slippery) blood that's already down here!" From that line we are led to potentially consider/infer, like, "huh...so, I wonder what else he can do with 'blood' after he got his own both on & in the shoulder of Kira?" which leads into his own dried-dead-blood-bending Crazy Diamond healing exploit for massive damage - which essentially won his portion of the fight (using the gun-firing power of Crazy D's flick - which he learned to do in the Ratt arc).
&, just as much, I find an even stronger case insofar as Hayato's mother, Shinobu, very-suddenly falling for Kira perhaps due to the Cinderella Stand's lingering effect it may have had on him. His good luck/fate really dictated those events for him, and while he thought Hayato did everything for him - he only further counteracted his luck by being a creepy kid maybe almost as much as Kira was a creepy dude.
I wouldn't say Hayato is as creepy as Kira cause Kira is just on a whole other level. If I could give a theory, I would say both Shinobu's infatuation and Hayato spying on them are Cinderella Stand's lingering effect since because of those trait from them that let the others to find Kira. Kinda like fate send him into the worst case scenario for someone to discover his true identity
RIP Billy Kametz, the Josuke in English.
A lot of what was found as an issue I found enjoyable because of the writing. This season feels relaxing at times and completely insane at others. It implements stands in everyday uses and regular human wants and uses the whole cast to do it. It has a Saturday morning cartoon vibe to it but is still current and engaging in episodes that don’t move the plot. It’s refreshing to see a jojo so happy go lucky yet still as compelling. I’m waiting for another season like this one!
I really is more on how you want your shows. I loved the slice of life take, I love seeing stand users with everyday lives and while many start out using it for bad learn how to use it in a postive way rather than focusing them on majority villains who die. It's nice getting to see most of the characters manage to live and not have a death crazy season for allies and minor antagonists while still keeping it overall compelling and having a very dark undertone with Kira-- managing to balance a much different genre of sorts with the standard jjba style. But if people like jjba for the horror, for the violence and direct action of good vs bad/moral vs immoral then people aren't going to enjoy it despite the writing and more unique take on what it means to live in this world with a stand.
DiU was amazing when I watched the anime and reading the manga made me love it even more.
Josuke isn’t the only one who feels like a side character in his own story. In part 3 Polnareff gets far more character development and is in more fights than Jotaro, similar with Bruno in part 5 who gets much more character development than Giorno.
Initially I wasn't a huge fan of Josuke, but after my recent rewatch of DiU he grew on me more. Hugely enjoyable protagonist who gets great interactions with all the cast, and his theme is so good! Definitely the JoJo I'd want to be friends with irl

I think it makes sense for Josuke to be "side lined" in this part, since it's in direct contrast to Kira.
Kira thinks the world is all about himself, and that the world is his playground to do whatever he wants with and he only thinks about himself, while being a rather isolated person.
Meanwhile, Joskue's stand can heal anyone, but himself since he puts others before himself and the stand reflects that, and unlike Kira who only thinks/acts on his own, Joskue always works best when he is part of a team.
Josuke relates to me the most. Just seems like a normal down to earth JoJo with no idea what's happening. I feel that.

The problem with Josuke/Kira dynamic is that there is none. The character never actually "meet" until the final fight. The fact that kira appears vs shigechi, and the sheer heart attack arc is the first and only fight before he goes into hiding kills all pacing with his character. If there was a fight in between in which our characters meet and have a little confrontation, even if they pull the "they are doing something next to eachother without knowing who the other guy is" to atleast have a baseline interaction so that their opposing designs can work off eachother they could have a really fun dynamic. But since Kira went into hidding so early on, Kira's dad steals the spotlight that should had been Kira's showing off his character to the group, instead we get Kira showng off his character to randoms in the street and the Kawajiri family, and don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE daily life with the kawajiris, but Josuke is not a part of that, making Kira more of his own character but reducing Josuke's part in it.
Josuke (Part 4) is my favorite JoJo, most relatable IMO and a fun character to watch, but as you said, was done dirty by his own part. R.I.P. Billy

I understand a lot of your points, Josuke definitely definitely feels like a secondary character by the end. But I think when I sit back and look at it he’s still my absolute favorite Jojo and part 4 is my favorite in the series.
I think that the other Jojo’s are total badasses. Practicals larger than life heroes especially the first 3. But just like how Araki said Josuke feels like a big bro or a reliable upperclassman. Someone I don’t look up to in the sense that they’re larger than life but like someone I’d want to have as a best friend. To know they’ve got my back if something happens and that I’d be willing to return the favor for. I’d rather be one of the guys in the “Duwang” gang😂 then where I’d want to fantasize about being the hero like the other Jojos.
Though l do wish it was say more of a team effort to beat Kira. Which is what I think they where going for when Jotaro takes in that breath imagining all the other teammates before he OraOras Kira into the ground.

Part 4 is my favorite part, but I'd have to say I agree. Josuke needed more attention, and Jotaro not giving him any props felt weird. I guess cause he was more conveniently available than Josuke, even though he did the most work
The worst moment in DiU was when during Highway Star arc Josuke broke a phone, and instead of fixing it with his ability he just... stole another one.
To be fair it was just done for a comedic moment
That was meant to be a joke scene, with the joke being Josuke got ahold of another phone so quick, he didn't need to fix up the old one.

Josuke isn't my favorite but I think everything you've said against him actually works in his favor when you take into account the setting of Morioh that being the town itself is its own character and everything else even the superfluous aspects are to build itself up, even the characters treat it so with all the weird happenings and their descriptions of Morioh and Josuke represents MMorioh's heart, yeah hes passive, and in the search for Kira he didn't go out of his way to hunt for him, but he's always helped and supported EVERYONE (even the kanji of his name has support in it) Koichi, Jotaro, Hayato, even Rohan he's been pushing them up to win in the same way how it feels the town of Morioh is fighting alongside them, so that even if its not of Josuke's intention that only speaks more to how great of a support he is that he doesn't need to try to be one, he just is naturally.
TL:DR: while Josuke isn't my favorite Jojo in the context of Morioh I believe he is the perfect protagonist for that setting
I always found Part 4 to be Koichi's story, with Josuke being more like a catalyst than the classic JoJo hero.
Shoutout to that one spinoff manga for letting Josuke get a chance to shine by hanging with Holhorse.
i love crazy diamond, its has great strength and speed that might be even better then jotaros but it does not have the worlds power, instead its power is simply to heal or reverse things back into a diffrent state, which you would think would be just an extremely useful utility and support ability but he turns it into a weapon when fighting kira and other beings, he uses it in such creative ways that he makes the ability really strong yet the ability does not feel broken especially since he cant just heal himself, if josuke could heal himself the ability would probs be on the top 5 best stands because as long as he can live fron his injuries he can survive anything, it also just means that josuke is stronger in a group because he can keep his allies alive and it means josuke can actually work as a team with his friends rather then his team members just being tag alongs that dont offer much
josuke will always be a favorite of mine hes the most relatable joestar out there and tries to be the best, its an utter shame he never gets mentioned beyond his own part

That’s more like an adaptation than an upgrade. That ability is only useful for that specific circumstance.

In this case, Jolyne had to further develop her powers even further through sheer determination and ingenuity and it payed for a bit. Obviously it wasn't enough in the grand scheme of things sense Pucci's Made in Heaven made him just as fast as it was, which some could say was hardly fair.

my theory for why Josuke didn't have Fungami sniff out Kira's location was because Josuke didn't fully trust him even after the fight with Enigma. The guy had just become an ally & Rohan was already close to the solution, so why bother trusting the guy who made it clear he doesn't want to get into more danger. Either this or the idea of sniffing out Kira's location had never crossed either Josuke & Fungami's mind. Edit: A potential 3rd option is Josuke did ask Fungami to sniff out Kira, but he flat out refused because he already made it clear he wants no part in hunting a serial killer
I think it works we to have Josuke how he is. Jotaro isn't Joseph, so him filling a different role makes sense. Josuke also doesn't "pass on the torch" himself, it's Jotaro who passes it to Jolene. Jotaro was designed by Araki to be a fulfillment of Jonathan, a sort of perfect hero.

Aww man. What part 4 was really needed was more turtles. (That fear is not the same as a catch phrase or something more common that induces rage)
I disagree heavily with this analysis, though it is interesting part 4 is not perfect but the small town feel is why Kira's defeat is perfect. Kira basically wins until a small town kid throws a wrench into his plans. The entire main cast contributes to defeating Kira, Josuke does the heavy lifting and exposes Kira in public. Okuyasu saves Josuke from the bubble, Koichi slows him and Jotaro gets a good hit on him too. All of those things (besides Hayato calling in Josuke) can only happen because of Josuke's direct involvement. You could argue that the town comes together to defeat him as the main cast, a random kid and an ambulance all attempt to put a stop to the murderer haunting the town.
Could have been better executed perhaps but people get so hung up on Jotaro 'kill stealing from Josuke' when it didn't really matter as Josuke already physically defeated Kira and brought him into the light.
Best part about DIU: mostly everything excluding shigechi

One thing I wish didn’t get dropped so quick is his grandfather’s death. It would’ve been a great motivation for Josuke to hunt down Kira as he would be protecting Morioh in Ryohei’s place.

I’ve been watching the series and just finished this part. Josuke was definitely my favorite so far and this was my favorite part as a whole by a long shot. At the risk of pissing people off tbh I don’t really understand the hype around this series. It’s basically just a standard monster of the week show and it certainly doesn’t have a deep plot or even deep characters really. It’s just kinda dumb fun. I actually had to skip to the end of Part 3 eventually because I was getting bored, but wanted to see the fight with Dio still. Part 4 though really entertained me with the slice of life mixed with that monster of the week style. Though I will say I find it incredibly bizarre how many characters in 4 do truly atrocious things they should be rotting in prison for at least and get forgiven for them so quickly. I’m going to keep watching for now but not sure if I’ll finish everything.
How much of Part 3 did you skip exactly? Did you at least get to Egypt?

Jojo bizarre adventure Part 2,3,and 4 are my favorite
Watching part 4 I was getting increasingly annoyed at the amount of times that Jotaro’s the world was mentioned and not seen. Josuke is my favourite jojo and Okuyasu is my favourite jobro so I just had a lot of fun watching the action and the funny conversations.
I was more pleased than anything seeing Jotaro actually use his powers at the end, he was portrayed as smart and menacing but would often bumble around or be just around the corner.
The ending with Kira suits the part, where anything can happen, a slice of life story doesn’t need a main hero and I was just glad to see Jotaro get some action too

I just finished all of the JoJo anime parts and even though there were small details I didn't like and some of the endings were unsatisfying, it didn't change my opinion on the series because overall, it's great! I loved the characters and the story! I do wish some of the JoJo's had more memorable moments but that didn't make me love the series any less. I can't wait for Steel Ball Run to be adapted into an anime series. Also one last thing; What'd you just say about my hair?
You actually touched on one of my main problems with the ending to the Jojo parts. That being on how more than a few joestars don’t get the final blow against their villian. I always kinda felt like Jolyne and Johnny were robbed in their final fight. Part 5 was bittersweet for me because I feel like the rivalry was better setup between Bruno and diavolo than it was with giorno. Part 8 was fine I enjoyed the outcome to the battle but I’d prefer joestars being able to handle the outcome of their fights like Joseph and jotaro and not having a character with a specific stand ability that just so happens to be able to help beat the main villain’s OP stand powers.
Johnny beat Valentine and the only reason AU Diego didn't escape is because of his missing leg due to Tusk Act 4, leading to his eventual death
@@jobbersupreme8720 yeah but that was still Johnny and Diego’s final battle even if it was AU. Johnny honestly took a lot of Ls in that part. He lost the corpse, the race, and his friend and couldn’t even beat the remaining villain but he got to walk and mend things with his dad so there’s that.
The final fight in Part 7 was against Diego, but Johnny's villain was Funny Valentine,and the confrontation between the two is arguably the most well-written moment in Jojo.
Also, Pucci's nemesis was his brother Weather. The entire rivalry between them is one of the biggest aspects of Part 6. The payoff being Weather posthumously killing him was poetry.
I mean yeah he was kind of a flirt but like you never got from his character that he would ever cheat on anyone

I can feel where you're coming from with being disappointed that he didn't get to take out the main villain, but honestly for me? A guy who lived to see the end of the original Adventure Time series where Finn did literally FUCK-ALL in the FINAL EPISODE of his OWN GODDAMN SHOW? Josuke still made a spectacular show of at least kicking Kira's ass for a bit up until Jotaro showed up. It really could have been SO MUCH WORSE...

While Josuke is a bit "undercut" by his own part, I feel like what undercuts him the most is getting the "Jotaro" role of being the "tamer" glue between a cast of colorful characters while being himself a colorful character and having to contend with Jotaro for the spot of protagonist.
So more than anything I think the problem is the Jotaro-Josuke duo, despite me really liking Part 4 Jotaro, since Josuke can't quite fill the same role as Jotaro did in his own part, and Jotaro is a lot less willing than Joseph to take a backseat to another character due to being far less laidback than his gramps.

I don't really think Joske was supposed to be the singular main character. I think it was intended that there were supposed to be multiple. It's doubled down in part 5 with the fact that Golden Experience is a support stand, not a fighter.
Koichi is the real main character but he isnt a jojo so josuke was made as a side character so the name still works

Jouske isn't THE main character, he's one of them. Part 4 and 5 are ensemble shows. Ita even directly stated by the show starting with someone else. It's not about him, it's about the stand users of the town and ridding their town of a mobster. And crazy diamond isn't a combat stabd. The hand is, star platinum is, sex pistols are. Crazy Diamond is a support stand which emphasizes the whole ensemble cast. I don't see how someone cant get this.

i feel like for your points on how josuke was introduced like his fear of turtles, his hair, and the greato-daze thing youre missing the point of the first two at least. im not going to act like ik how many times josuke says greato-daze in the show, i forgot he even said that to be honest but for the fear of the turtles and how he gets mad at people insulting his hair those themselves arent character traits but represent his character traits. in the first episode hes shown trying to get over his fear of turtles, him being scared of turtles isnt supposed to be a ongoing gag, thatd suck and be boring, instead its showing the audience that josuke is a brave character who doesnt let his fears hold him back. although the hair is slightly more funny than the turtle thing, theres only so many times where you can fit that into the story with it seeming realistic and then also be funny to the audience. not to mention we know josuke doesnt really have a temper and we see how leaned back he is. knowing how hot headed he gets when someone makes fun of his hair shouldnt be in character for him, so we know his hair means a lot to him. the whole hair thing was a setup to his backstory and how he got the hairstyle. theres other points in your video too that i disagree with but im p sure theyre being talked about a lot so heres just something i dont think anyone else has mentioned.

1:20 something I was feeling throughout the entirety of part 5 was Giorno Giovanna didn't feel like a main character. Which is why sometimes I felt that instead of this feeling like Giogio's bizarre adventure it felt like brbu's bizarre adventure this is because Giorno got way less screen time than that other characters and near the first few episodes of it I genuinely checked off I am actually watching Jojo
