Thanks for this simple and instructive video.
We glad you found our video useful! Thanks for the feedback!
My tech says to run the clean cycle first and then replace the filter
When loaded up and ready to start the cycle you do not turn the unit on as the video says. You only hold the clean button down for three seconds and the unit powers itself up.
The cleaning cycle on Kitchen Aid under counter ice machines is about 70 minutes, not 15-19. A green light should come on when everything is done. If there is Affresh or other residue, then another cycle with 32 ounces of tap water should do the trick, but it's rarely necessary.
Thanks for the correction and additional tip!
What happens if you have what looks like mold and dirt in the machine itself ?
How long would the machine take to make ice again after cleaning is over. ?
Very helpful. My reservoir basket cracked on the lip that holds the impeller for the pump and it fell out. I was able to order the part for $35 and fix it myself instead of paying Kitchenaid $400. My only comment would be that while this video is helpful it’s very misleadiing about how the ppes or fittings disconnect…..they are very difficult. The guy in this video pops the hose off the pump like it’s a joke….I couldn’t even do it…I needed to work around that…it must have been cemented in place. Aside form that, this was very helpful. Thank you.
Glad we were able to help!
I noticed that the interior of the icemaker in the video has some debris or sediment in the bottom, and mine does too. With what do you clean the actual ice reservoir?
Hello! You could clean this with soap and water, or white vinegar and water. For tougher dirt spots you can also use a bit of baking soda and water. After doing this you will want to wipe it out a few times with a damp towel so you don't leave any soap or vinegar residue. Hopefully this helps!
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
After cleaning it isn't making any ice. The icemaking light is on but its been half an hour and not a single cube.
you actually have to hold the cleaning button down for 3 seconds for it to start cleaning.
After the cleaning cycle, when I open the cap, a ton of liquid drains. I dont know if its water or cleaning solution and the instructions state "if cleaning solutions drains, run the cycle again." Is it normal for a lot of liquid to drain after the cycle and must I run it again? Its a little confusing. Thank you.
Do u leave icemaker on when you remove cap to drain? Do you turn off icemaker then fill with cleaning fluid then turn back on then push clean? Machine says turn off when cleaning? How doni know its cleaning does clean light flash or just stay lit?
I changed my Kitchen Aid under counter ice machine filter in April of 2023. The change filter light came on second week of August. That is less than five months. Could you comment?
If you have hard water, you'll need to clean it more often. There is going to be more of a build up of dirt and minerals with hard water.
My clean light is not coming on. Does that mean that it isn't cleaning?
Mine just says add cleaner, but I've allready poured the cleaner in it
@@Cerberus88 yeah, I"m having this same issue. It's not sensing that the reservoir tray is full. Did you ever figure this out?
