    This is how to clean a freestanding ice maker. Cleaning an under counter ice maker isn't difficult but it takes time to do properly. Within this video, I explain how to clean an under counter ice maker. My ice maker is a Whirlpool ice maker but the same or similar procedure can likely be used to clean other brands of ice makers too! #Howto #Icemaker

      I deeply appreciate that! This was difficult to figure out and I applaud that you liked the thoroughness of this video. Too many people simply want to rush, rush, rush and things like this take time to do them right!

    Thanks! From a frustrated mom who just spent 30 min on the phone with the company who sent me the manual and offered to send a service call. I wasn’t sure I was doing it right and didn’t want to waste the cleaner. I was going to pour the cleaner in the ice bin where the ice falls. You had my exact ice maker, and I’m waiting 70 min now. Appreciate it!

    Doing the same to my ice maker right now, sir. Thanks for the vid. Very helpful. Also, love the Tudor. 😉 Got my eye on a Black Bay or Pelagos FXD. Happy New Year from Texas! 🫡🇺🇸🎆

      Happy New Year and those are all excellent options to consider. You’re probably already aware but if you go FXD, due to the lack of spring bars, a bracelet is not an option. Black Bay 58 has been awesome but that newer 39mm Pelagos reference is neat too! Happy New Year and please feel free to subscribe to my channel and check out my Timepieces for Tomorrow videos! I will also have some live shows within the next few weeks to talk wristwatches!

    You forgot the most important step..Remove the front grill and clean the coils and replace the air filter. Take a flashlight and look under the front grill..It will be dirty with pet hair and dust.

    I have a question about this ice maker. Would this be too loud to be installed in a residential kitchen? My understanding is that once the ice is made, it is constantly melting, so it's always making ice 24/7. How loud is this unit, and does the noise it makes bother you? Does your model have a gravity drain, or does it have the pump built in, and when that pump runs, does it make a lot of noise?

      Mine is in my home bar about 30 feet from my bed. It doesn’t bother me at all. I hear it drop fresh ice periodically but it’s not loud. Other than the ice dropping, the unit is pretty silent. Mine uses a gravity drain.

    I have a America ice cleaner. I did all the instructions as you said. Light never changed from "needs cleaning" during two separate cleanings and still after right now it says "needs cleaning" never turning "cleaning in process" didn't change. Also while machine is power off it still runs, turns on and tries to make ice or freeze the ice that isn't there. don't understand.

      Strange. Did you try “fast ice” to see if that may make a difference?

    • @MK7of7of7of7
      @MK7of7of7of7 11 місяців тому

      No. Solved problem. Turn power button off, then push clean. The cleaning process will not proceed without power off. Why do videos like I've seen forget that? Why didn't I catch it myself? Because I was reading the damn instructions instead of following my intuition. Thank you.@@IrixGuy

      Actually mine is a KitchenAid. Learned something anyway. Man who owns the house said it was cleaned several years ago. Truth be told, it has never been cleaned until now (15 years) at least. @@IrixGuy

    I took all the inards out. Totally disquisting. The only way to really clean.
    Then I ran the descale cycle. But like you my water oan is still full. Manual says if fluid comes out of oan after cleaning complete, then to run another cycle. Multiple cycles may be necessary. Im not doing that. The clean me light never even came on?

      There is a twist-off top on the bottom of it. It’s similar to a two liter Coke’s top. That lets the water drain out.
