Could you upload another video on how to take apart those inside parts especially where wires are? I would love to clean every part by mechanically rubbing them but can’t figure out how to take them apart to access inside pipes and all. Thank you!
Did you ever figure it out? Seems like there are tabs on the side of each wire clip that you would squeeze as you pull it out. However, that’s not working for me and I don’t want to damage anything
@@N8andKids no unfortunately…. I had to get an appliance repair guy to come out to help me disassemble everything and clean. I’m glad I did because it was a lot of complex parts and multiple wiring and they all looked confusing to me. He disassembled while I cleaned each part in my sink with dish soap and vinegar and he also wiped each part dry with paper towel before putting back. The whole process took 1 hr and 30 minutes even though I rushed without and break. He obviously charged me service call $120 and $100 labor fee per hour but I think it was worth it as the ice maker was never cleaned for the last 10 years! Make sure you ask if the repair guy knows how to disassemble because not all knows how and the previous guy came and cleaned using afresh which I already knew how to do.
I was also able to disassemble all hoses and used mini bristle brush to scrub inside which was filled with mold, scale, lime. Using how factory recommended cleaning with afresh isn’t enough for sure, manual scrubbing is absolutely necessary but whirlpool company doesn’t tell you how to do that !
How often does this need to be done? Did this still happen even if you run vinegar through the self cleaning mode once a month?
