Hi Morag, thanks for all these great videos. I use aloe vera as rooting hormone for cuttings.

Aloe vera cleared post-operative staph infections in wounds that I have had, that antibiotics would not clear. Just taped on a piece of a leaf and left overnight. Also cleared staph infection in a wound that my elderly mother had after a fall.

I started using Aloe when a friend gave me a leaf to treat two precancerous spots on my face the doctor wanted to burn off. In two weeks of using the Aloe they began to fade and in a month they were gone. I got some plants from my friend and always use it in the summer as a preventative. 30 yrs later I've had no more. I use it, as you do, on my hair, skin, in smoothies and for mosquito and midge bites. I made some hand sanitiser recently using the blended gel and 70% alcohol, about 50/50. My son has a still, so I get alcohol from him for cleaning etc. I put some lavender oil in one lot and tea tree in the second. It worked well, but as viruses are more easily destroyed by soap, I prefer to just wash my hands. I have a book on Aloe from the 70's where it was found to be effective for after dental treatments to treat infection, and to treat xray radiation. I'd never be without it.

i just cut the spine parts off and chew a 1 inch x 1 inch square and swallow it now and then, not every day. also with cuts and insect bites i cut it open and put on the inside of a band aid. the band aid holds it on the skin.

Aloe Vera is an amazing HAIR GEL. I stopped using commercial hair gel about a year ago. Now I just simply use Aloe Vera. Much more natural, nutritious, and equally effective.
A family member of mine suffers from constipation, so this is what does the trick for her: she takes the aloe vera, cuts out the pulp forming little bullets and freezes them. That way she can keep them ready to be used as a natural suppository for her constipation any time.

I love this! I’ve been using aloe in my own skin care for a while but just started with using it straight as a moisturizer and also just started using it as my conditioner. I have thin fine hair and I don’t need a lot and was curious how it would work in other hair types. As a hair stylist I hated the pushing of products that are ridiculously expensive and have questionable ingredients. All you need is some aloe! And I also really enjoy using jojoba oil. I’ve been using a pure aloe from a jar and can’t wait to start growing this in my garden so I don’t need to purchase and add to plastic in my home and waste! And excited to try to use it internally as a detox as well! Thank you! I’ve been binge watching all your videos and loving them! You are so generous to share your knowledge! I am trying to start a permaculture garden and small food forest in my suburban backyard in California zone 9b. If anyone reads this and has references, resources, tips and tricks I’d love to hear them!

I grow aloe Vera in pots on my kitchen window-sills here in Ireland. I'm very fair so burn really easily and aloe Vera is great for healing my skin. It helps my dry delicate skin and was especially useful during radiotherapy for breast cancer. I've recently used aloe Vera to soothe sore eyes.

You can do it on a balcony; mine's been in a terracotta planter on the back verandah for years. I had trouble finding it in stores, so I bought maybe 4 or 5 pups from a nursery on ebay & they're all grown up with their own pups & grandpuppies now.

I love aloe! I am very fair and do get sun burned. It is the very best treatment. I wish I could grow nice big stalks like those but I am in a zone 5 so I grow it indoors. I did make the mistake of putting it out in the sun and it did burn it up. Lesson learned. Thanks for this video.

I got a bad looking eczema a few months ago. After using many creams and remedies with negative results, I applied aloe vera day and nighr for about two months.
Every day I could notice how it improved the appearance of my leg, until the eczema was gone.

There are different types of aloe, though. I have one that looks like the large, fat, solid green pieces sold in the produce section of the grocery store and I have one that has spots and never loses the spots no matter what the age or size of the mature plants. I thought I read somewhere that the one with spots is Topical aloe, and the solid green one with the really beefy meat inside is edible. Can you comment on what you think? I can share pictures to show the difference if you need it through email or something because I don't know if I can share here.

Thanks for the information on aloe. I do have a question about kitchen vegetable, fruits and egg shells. I have been crushing them and adding them to my wormcasting, but as I get older, it is becoming a bit demanding for me. I would like to know if I just throw all of the above into my flower beds, will it be benefitial without mixing with soil and just throwing them? Or would it become a huge garbage area after a while. Thanks

I tried this and it looked like garbage (lol) and it invited critters (possums, racoons etc) *and* they ate my garden! Save your pennies/pence for a rotating compost bin, it took me quite awhile to save the money but it was totally worth it!

Hi and thanks for being there with such great info. I have had many aloe vera "indoor" plants and it seems that once I take a leaf off, the plant slowly dies on me. What could I be doing wrong? Is there a specific way to harvest as opposed to a whole leaf? Thanks a lot. Unfortunately, I don't have a plant now but really would love to find one out there somewhere. Thanks. Mary C in PA

Technically frost can kill it & it shouldn't go below maybe 5degC, but we get a v light frost here in the Adelaide Hills & subzero occasionally & mine's coped with our extreme heat in summer too. It likes to have stuff around it for shade or shelter from the elements. Mines in a big planter under the verandah, where it multiplies happily in a little huddle.

    • @blowitoutyourcunt7675
      @blowitoutyourcunt7675 4 роки тому +1

There are over 500 species of Aloes, mostly in Africa, but only a few have medicinal uses and only Aloe Vera has culinary uses. Not all Aloe Vera varieties are considered edible, the main edible one being var Chinensis. Also horticultural chemicals may have been used liked hormones, dyes etc

    • @sandhram

If you cut alovera blade sides.( Thorny ends)..and immerse it in a mug of water, you can see a yellow colour oozing out . From what I heard is that consumption without removal of this yellow stuff could cause some issues like nausia / stomach upsets for some people ..Hence you can consume after keeping it in immersed water after cutting the 2 blade sides, to remove the yellowish stuff which is primarily located on the blade sides...
