I have surgically repaired left shoulder from my time in the military, so all I can do is a half swing. I had know idea why he did, but it makes perfect sense. I’m more consistent with the half backswing than I was when I had a full backswing before that surgery! I definitely don’t hit the ball as far as I did, but it is nice to know where it’s going🤣🤣
I have the same problem as Jon. I broke my left ankle as a kid, and it didn't heal properly. So its shorter than my other leg. And if I try to swing with a long or even normal swing, I'm off balance. So I started swinging with a short swing, and it helped me tremendously. And that short power swing he demonstrated, helped me develop a lot of lower body power. Then I incorporated the bowed wrist, and it took my swing to a new level. I look like Jon when I swing, with 10% of his talent, and 60% of his power. And I'm ok with that. Lol. I'm also a lefty and 15 yrs older than him. 😂
Short backswing is the key to my game. I need to feel "half swing" which is more in reality. My problem is that I find it so hard mentally to swing like that. My compression is so good with the short backswing, and not good at all when I "over swing".
Weaker grip restricts how far the club can go back, Rahm generates a ton of power with his body turn and power through the hips. The wrist bow squares the face which would be otherwise open
Short backswing and very quiet lower body at impact. His feet are are basically flat on the ground. He has a simple swing with less moving parts. He doesn’t go up on his toes at impact like JT and others. They should take a lesson from him. I doubt he will ever go into a big slump with this swing.
"The best teacher is golf ball". My first pro told me that back in 1985. "Find YOUR game", great Taylor Made campaign from awhile back (Caps mine).

Excellent video !
Did that drill at the range yesterday unknowingly, and it was the straightest I've ever hit it
Had no idea about his ankles. What a great story for learning how to be great despite limitations
wow. mind blown.
Homie let his intrusive thoughts win: “what does your foot look like now”

Is no one gunna talk about that bois cake…?
Hahaha ikr 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Makes sense
I know nothing about analyzing swings but it seems like he doesnt have short swing, he gets a big full turn, his arms just.swing short coreect?
Man another reason I wish I was tall :/. My dad's tall. My moms whole family. Tiny
Jon Rahm has a short arm swing but his shoulder turn is big. That’s the key.
Yes. He gets his shoulders through impact faster and completely as anyone!
Yep that's a huge shoulder turn, I also thing he's a BIG powerful guy

THIS is IT. There is NO perfect swing. Golf is not a game of perfect!
