I feel like I just took a $1000 private putting lesson with Brad Faxon. Incredible teacher and you are a great student, Rick! This was awesome. Thank you, Brad, for being so generous sharing your knowledge and thank you, Rick, for bringing this video to us!
1000....10,000
I can't believe we get this for free
Hey tell Brad thanks for getting Metacomett bulldozed in his home state at your next lesson
Couldn’t agree more.
100%
20 Minutes in and I have already learned more than I have putting alone for 2 years. This is fantastic and Brad really is as good as people say...
That was the same with me but I have been playing for 8 to 9 years and this is the best lesson thanks Rick thanks Brad
This is 100% the best instructional video in the history of golf. Rick I’m a huge fan of yours and I’m thankful that through your hard work and dedication of all these years, you’ve been able to provide all of us with a phenomenal golf lesson by brad!
Thanks Rick!
Yup!!!!
Agreed.
Terrible video. What’s his point
I think David Orr is my favourite for putting, he's done some amazing content with Eric Cogorno, which is definitely worth checking out
Probably the most important 40 minutes of video you’ve ever produced. This will be on my replay list forever. Thanks Rick and thanks Brad!
These actual lesson videos are the most informative golf videos I've ever seen. After the first I've been able to hit my drive 250 avg after going 2 years without hitting it because I couldn't get more than a couple feet off the ground. Thank you so much for taking us down this journey with you. It's going the help countless golfers. Keep it up!
Try Golf Sidekick if you want to learn about course management and scoring well for amateur golfers. He’s the best for that, and pretty charismatic too, but with a style all of his own. He played Pebble Beach, which was great to watch, but usually just plays local courses in Thailand. He’s South African, though. Even has lectures, which are good, serious, but a bit tongue in cheek to lighten them up.
@@Dude0000 That guy is annoying af and the last person I'd call charismatic.
Matt is great value , well worth a look , he plays with some great pros as well.
@@Dude0000 agreed. Matt is great. Alex Elliot is a class coach too. Helped me a lot.
@@sherlockholmes60 yeah, as we say in England, he’s like Marmite. Half love it, others hate it…I get you, though, but I find him ok. He’s differant, and I appreciate that.
These actual lesson videos with the worlds top instructors are so good. It’s like we are getting these great lessons for free.
There is a wonderful feeling of joy, like being a kid and having total confidence in what you are being told by your grandpa or elder, sort of aura about Brad Faxon. Every word makes perfect sense, and his beautiful interaction with you as a person cannot be stressed enough. This is what teachers are like, at their best. Its what the good ones were like when i was young. I wish each of us had a Brad Faxon for every subject in school, and every new skill in life. We would be better off, as humanity.
That interaction was/is really wonderful. Goes to show you Mr. Faxon's level of experience.
The stimp readings on the uphill and downhill are a real eye opener
Anyone else started the habit of watching this every time before going to play a round? Or just me? 😅
No other huge UA-cam golfer would allow an open window into their weaknesses in the game like you do. This is what separates you and what endears your audience. And it allows us to be a part of your golf journey ⛳. (which never ends!)
I disagree. Everyone I watch do more than Rick. Golf Mates, Golf Sidekick, Matt Fryer…they all do. I think Rick has done a great job of marketing himself and seams natural and approachable on camera. But he’s a driving range teaching professional, the bottom of the pro hierarchy, and would probably have a 2-4 handicap. He has to be open about his weaknesses as his peers would pillor him if he wasn’t. I could see his reverse pivot and handsy fast arms in his swing from the first few videos I saw, and his mechanical, unnatural uncomfortable putting stroke is obvious to anyone who’s played to a low single figure handicap and better for a while.
Great comments buck I agree
Was thinking the same thing. Very humble. The internet can be a cruel place, so to discuss your weakness and receive help openly is a great example to us all
I needed a putting lesson and I got one here. I going to watch this more than once and jot a few notes to do practicing.
Grow up
OMG... After nearly 50 years playing off 5 handicap and below this is truly the most informative video or lesson I have seen/heard. Thanks Rick for making yourself vulnerable, and goodness how to thank Brad!
You Were always a crap Putter. Have you still got that Ping Putter. Tony Single Putt Taylor
Am I the only one that goes for a golf lesson and feels relaxed and confident when I leave, ready to take home my new found knowledge and improve. Then when it comes to practicing the next day i've forgotten it all? Having a video like this is so good for a gentle remind when I come to practice! Thank you for uploading Rick!
Take a small notebook and pen to lesson.. Write down the drills and relevant info. Keep the notebook in your bag. Why spend $$ on golf lessons only to rely on memory to practice whats been taught? You can then refer back to it months-years late. Also good to keep written results of training games and stats to watch improvement.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
When I was a kid first getting into the game my coach had my write down the five biggest things I learned that day wasn’t just a reference but also helped me remember
I had six three putts plus four putt in my recent medal and was seriously thinking about giving up golf as I near 70. Putting has always been my weakness and no lesson has ever made such an impact as this. As a 15 handicapper this video has inspired me. Absolutely brilliant - what a gent Brad is. So many things to work on - thank you both!
i love brad faxon...growing up n see his putting...i hv to agree he is awesome when putting on the green when ever he played in the big tournament
Wow what an insight into putting. When the weather improves in Glasgow the practice putting green is getting some serious attention. Imagine a free lesson from Brad
The best coaching I ever had was delivered with “warmth” and a human connection. Actually feeling a bit emotional watching this! Quality.
I think the coolest part about this lesson, is none of it was really about the actual mechanics of the golf swing. Because Rick's a pro, he knows how to hit a putt. But the sort of mental component and spending so much time about how to get to the ball and feel comfortable. Can't wait to see how this plays out in Break 75!
One of the keys for any teacher is to be able to communicate well to the student. A lot of instructors- of any subject- are more interested in trying to impress people with their knowledge than in actually teaching the student. Brad seems to be relatable and genuinely interested in having his pupil actually learn something and to improve. Awesome video!
Rick:
I just wanted to offer you a sincere thank you for this video from the bottom of my heart! This is easily the best golf UA-cam video on putting I have ever watched! I can think of no better way to describe this than to say that your interaction with Brad Faxon in this video is pure gold.
I am completely wowed by this content.
I have been a + 3 handicap until recently, I am now a 1 and climbing... injuries/illness. I am a +5 at putting according to ARCCOS. Even so, I have learned so, so, much from this one video! This ammounts to a free lesson with one of the all time greats, which is somehting that I will never get the chance to do in person.
I can tell you with a great deal of confidence that my putting is going to get even better because of this video. Beyond that, and more importantly, I am raising 2 junior golfers who will benefit from this even more than this old, washed up, has been will.
:0)
Thank you so much for this video!
One of the best quotes for putting ive ever been told is this " you can make every putt you take BUT you wont hole every putt you take " it was very mind blowing to me and it freed me up with my approach and i stopped getting upset with myself with the outcome
That was the best half hour lesson Ive seen on putting.
I help a 7-11 year old youth PGA junior team. This video will be lesson #1 when we get started in April. There are so many little things, I bet I rewatch it 5-6-7x
How valuable of experience from 1 of the greatest PGA putters of all time, Brad Faxon.
We're all pulling for you Rick. Relax and putt like a kid and watch so many more fall in 2023!
That really threw some light on what putting is really about. Brad is both inspirational and confidence inducing. I loved it.
This might be the best golf instructional piece ever.
Rick, this might be the most helpful and interesting video you have ever done. I really think I have learnt a lot from this and really believe I can get my putting better from this!
You lucky boy to film this with Brad! Incredible!
Hands down, this is the BEST tips video you’ve ever created. This is jaw droppingly simple and great advice from Brad. A keeper forever. Well done.
This gentleman is a legend. And I am hearing from him so many things I have heard Bob Rotella say. Those two in combo. Bingo. The best putter oat right there. I can't wait to get back outside for putting practise. Thank you Rick for letting us have these insights and thanks Brad for being a part of your putting wisdom.
This is one of your best videos ever! More of this please!
THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST VIDEO YOU EVER POSTED. this might be the best golf lesson I’ve ever seen online or in person. Best putting lesson online ever
Again, excellent the last 2 videos with Brad and Claude are on repeat again and agian..... so easy when it's spelt out.
Brad talks - to use a phrase - absolute gospel. His advice is as sage as it gets and the approach he took to assessing what your impression of the green was and how you interpret the results was just class. What a great video to share with the world. Fantastic.
That's the most engaging guest video you've done for me. He is a legend, and this is a video we'll all watch over and over. 👏👏👏
OMG FINALLY! Brad huge respect. Answers so many questions with clarity and just makes me want to get to the green and practice.
He just scratches the surface of his putting knowledge. Thanks for the lesson 👏
As Brad calls it…the putting IQ is so important and I realise how much I’m lacking in IQ! A fantastic insight into how much work the top level golfers have to put in and how much information they have going on on a putt! Unbelievable video Rick! Excellent 👌🏻
Brad is so technical yet articulate in his teaching. I think we can all take something away from this video! Fantastic work and going straight into my faves
I use the Blast Golf device all the time for my practice. Brad gives great advice in his videos for Blast and using that device has truly helped my putting.
I met Brad Faxon at the Player Championship in Pontevedra Beach Florida back in the late 90s, GREAT guy!!!
This should end up being your most watched video across all your channels. it is incredible hearing Brad break putting down to make it sound so simple.
Fantastic video Rick and team!
This was truly amazing, can't believe this is a free video, it is so generous of you Rick to air this for free. Brad was simply brilliant at explaining it and Rick you were such a good student I learnt so much, can't wait to try on the practice greens.
I think this is the best video you've ever published. I'm going to watch this one 5 million times.
Wonderful! What a privilege to hear Brad Faxon teach - straightforward, enlightening and with the gift for making it seem obvious when you hear him. Well done Rick, one of the best videos yet…
That. Was. Magnificent! Brad is absolutely brilliant at what he does, and has so much passion for putting it oozes throughout the video. Rory seems to have chosen well there! I might have to watch this video on repeat a few times too, just to make sure I can remember some of the nuggets Brad fed us with throughout. 👌
Faxon is a close talker.
Dr Brad Faxon 😮OMG what an amazing insight into putting. What a brilliant video Rick…..Amazing
Rick, Thank you for introducing us to Brad Faxon. He has given me the tools to work on the part of my game that I felt weakest. Awesome....video...
Another great insight and as with Claude, everything Brad says makes sense and is in a way far less mechanical and more feel and fluidity. The importance of a pre shot routine for all shots that is consistent is another key thing that you see many people don’t have and loved the tips of making that fluid also through even small movements. Two powerful lessons that must have been great to have experienced but you’ve also done a fantastic job with the team to capture them so that we can all take something away from them. Great job again 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
We r getting close to spring in the midwest
An outstanding lesson from one of the greatest putters ever. The one thing that bums me out right now is that I won't be on a practice putting green until April at the earliest. However, I have saved this video in my Golf Videos folder in the saved videos section of my UA-cam channel. I will be reviewing this over and over again every chance I get, and taking notes as well.
Honestly, this is the best putting video I've ever watched. I've just saved huge money but more importantly, learned a lot about the approach to putting. This can help so many people. Thanks for being the test subject Rick!
I got the same feeling as that time you gave EAL a swing lesson. Thanks!
I love how in the flashback in the beginning, Rick is using a different putter each time!😂
Great video Rick, Brad seems such a cool, chilled dude and both sessions were incredibly watchable. Keep it up matey, you are living the dream!
Thank you for being so vulnerable Rick! You make us feel good knowing even YOU don’t know it all. Keep it up!!!
Met Brad Faxon many years ago at Wentworth on the pro am day (as a spectator) during the Toyota world match play. We talked as we walked the round with him. We were allowed to walk the fairway with him. We chatted about his upcoming Ryder cup chances. Really nice chap !
Best putting lesson ever. Thank you Rick and Brad.
That was an invaluable lesson from one of the best putters of all time. The amazing thing was how much we can all take from that even though we weren’t the ones receiving the lesson. I would also say that without even realising it I was amazed how much of that I am already doing exactly like what Brad says. Putting is the best part of my game by far and maybe this is why. So it was good to hear so much fantastic tips from Brad and that he was so willing to share this with everyone.
I could also instantly see the improvement in Rick’s putting stroke once he relaxed and followed what Brad was telling him. He definitely thinks way too much while he putts and you can see it all going through his head and he talks himself out of the putt before he even hits it. I hope to see the improvement now if he can follow what Brad told him.
Thanks for filming this for us all Rick, it was amazing.
This is once again solid gold. Learned so much from this video, and can't wait for a dry day to work on my putting. Also, never knew watching another's put was bad etiquette, but there you go.
Only if you stand right behind them and watch from the line. Anywhere else off to an angle is fine.
@@BuckMcAntlerson That's what I meant. It would be silly if you had to look away lol.
exactly that's bad advice..never heard of taxon
If you blatantly walk behind the person who is putting in front you and watch/read their line that is definitely bad etiquette.
Not just bad etiquette... Illegal in competition.
Love Brad’s clarity. Combines great purpose with great feel. I plan to watch this many times 😎
Brad Faxon is a really good teacher. He asks the right questions, listens really intently then gives solutions. 👏🏻
Brad Faxon and Ben Crenshaw are my putting idols
and Loren Roberts - those are probably the best 3 I have seen.
Can you release the Phil Kenyan one on this channel too please?
Always said Brad the best putter I ever seen ! I remember when I was watching golf on tv the commentary said Faxon got a 15 foot putt for par the other guy said that's a gimme all day long , of course he holed it xx
Wooooow! The best video in UA-cam right now. 😮 I’ve been putting so wrong all this time. Eye opening… thanks Rick.
This is to date the best UA-cam golf instructional video ever. Simple, digestible and incredibly insightful.
Precisely put.
Thank you Rick for putting up this lesson. Mr. Faxon is a wizard and a scientist all rolled into one, truly inspiring.
This is the best video I have ever seen. What a clever man and so well articulated
Remember you 1% that are finding the negatives to this video, he may not be the greatest channel but he just brought us amazing content- love the wisdom we just got.
Congrats on your work to be in position to have this kind of knowledge from my couch.
Wow. 40 minutes felt like 40 seconds. The way Brad paints the picture is a world away from how I have been seeing it. I don't think anyone can't take a lot from this video and improve all aspects of their putting. Thank you for sharing this and can't wait to see you integrate this into your game Rick. Brad is the GOAT of the putting coach World for sure 💯 👌 🙌 👏 👍
Brad is just amazing. My dad took me to a tournament in Australia when I was under 10 years old. I remember us following Brad for a number of holes. My dad told me to watch him putt, because even my dad knew Brad was a world class putter. Such a humble guy, he’s the Professor of Putting.
This video is absolute gold! Thank you so much for posting it and also for being a good listener / student during this process. The back and forth you had with Brad is really excellent.
Talk about a free lesson from the great Brad Faxon! Got so much info from this instructional. Thanks Rick
It's great that Rick is a little stumped in responding to Brad's questions like many of us when being asked the same questions...a regular guy is Rick....thanks for letting us see this......Really great video for all of us...thanks Brad!
You got a lesson in Golf, Psychology, Physics, and Biomechanics. A great lesson for us all from one of the best. Thanks Brad and Rick for sharing this video.
The humility and confidence this must’ve taken, is awesome Rick! So thankful for these videos!
I was going to pay for a putting lesson until I watched this. Wow! Plenty of good pointers that I will practice doing.
Pure gold! Thanks Rick…love it!
I can listen to this for hours who not better to take advice from (Brad Faxton) One of the best putters ever. Great video Rick and bring on more
I felt my putting getting better just listening to this. This man is a treasure of knowledge
THAT
WAS
PHENOMENAL
Thanks for sharing this. Brad Faxon is as clever as a man with 3 heads. How can you not learn something from it??? Brilliant.
Hey Rick,
Remarkably candid of you to describe what goes on in your head with a birdie vs a par putt....I do exactly the same... this lesson is so helpful. Thanks to you and Brad😊
That was awesome, thanks to both of you
Teachers/Coaches who are at the top of their game always make things sound so easy. Brad is way above the top of his game. What a gentleman and unbelievable coach.
A truly special video that every golfer can learn from.
Thanks Brad and Rick
Thank you Rick! I've seen every video you've made and this has got to be the best one for helping my game. Keep up the good work
So incredible for you Rick , to have Brad Faxon.on you're podcast , not only for you , but for us , you're followers to experience having a private lesson from truly one of the best putters and instructors in the world ! Iam so very grateful for this !
I’ll be coming back to this video time and time again. The man makes it seem so easy. Great video, looking forward to the best putting summer I’ve ever had.
Thanks Rick and Brad for being so generous.
LMAO......Rick is so caught up in Brads 'flow'...... I'm dying🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's still bloody brilliant though..... Love it👍
That’s the guy from the movie Kingpin!
Amazing stuff. Thanks Rick & Brad
This is one of the best lessons given ever. Brad is a genius on the greens.
This is equivalent to getting a drawing lesson from Rembrandt. You are so lucky.
Thanks for that Rick. What a treat to have Brad Faxon give a lesson in putting. Keep up these amazing videos. Cheers from Canada.
Ricks the best over the years I have improved my golf with his teaching, this lesson was his best one ever.Thank you 😊
What a guy! Never seen someone so grounded but so confident in their skill simultaneously
He is the putting master, watched Brad for years on tour but this is gold. Putting is my nemesis and this is incredible.
Rick- thank you for this, and all your other videos. I love that you acknowledge that you are not perfect. you show us your bad shots as well as the great ones, and you are not too proud to receive instruction and recognize that your game needs improvement in certain areas. it is an inspiration. Thank you.
The art of putting right here. Scotty, Rotella, and Fax. Unbelievable wealth of knowledge.
Fantastic Video Rick. I really appreciate the modest and open way you approached this lesson - it's made the video valuable for everyone.
This is so good!! Thank you Rick and Brad.
This was AWESOME! True story - when I was 14 or 15 I caddied for Brad while he was having a coaching session with Dr. Rotella!! In Charlottesville, VA at Farmington Country Club...probably 1983 or 1984. Watching this Rick was so cool! Thank you!
Absolutely fabulous video. Amazing insights from Brad. Going to take a lot of this to my own putting practise. I love the free and flowing aspect of the lesson and Brad's philosophy.
To me this helps my regular golf swing as well. I am a feel player and I play my best when I think less. Giving up control make a lot of sense to me. Thanks for sharing this conversation!
Superb instruction and coaching, thank you, gentlemen!
