you should TOTALLY read the turn of the key by ruth ware! it’s hands down my favorite thriller and I still think about the twist to this day, two years after reading it. England, spooky house vibes! I think you’d love it

I’m the same way with thrillers. I wish there were more books that had pure spooky vibes the whole way with strong character and plot.
I recently just finished A Dowry of Blood as well and it was heartbreakingly stunning. One of my top books of the year 🩶
The Cask of Amantiallo is so GOOD, I remember reading it in English class and it was amazing and just ugh. Highly recommend

I have the same problem with thrillers so I never really grab those type of books. Hoping to do Summerween next summer I just totally forgot about it this year but at least I got some book recommendations for October. Hoping for the best on the rest of your reading month!
I highly recommend The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware for your next thriller/ spooky/ paranormal read. I read this a couple of years ago via audiobook (highly recommend this format) and I still think about it to this day!

A thriller/kind of horror with a spooky house that I read recently and loved is Let's Play Murder by Kesia Lupo. It's a murder mystery game set in VR where things begin to go wrong, adding to the spookiness. It's got perfect isolated thriller vibes and I thought it was great. It is marked as a horror on Goodreads but it was just a bit unnerving and not too scary which was perfect for me. I would recommend it a lot if you're looking for books with spooky/weird houses in them.

You should watch the Gone Girl movie. Amazing acting from everyone involved! Some say the movie is even better because of the acting alone
Books are beautiful to look at. So it’s fine to have them on read or unread in your shelves.
There are 5 months left in the year so if you read 6 or 7 books per month you would put a nice dent in your physical TBR. You can do it. Btw you have some excellent books to read. Sword of Kaigen is so good. Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre soo good. So many waiting there for you. Have fun!

You should try doing a series or maybe some videos on color coded books. Like black and white, red,blue etc. or even make some videos on your favorite books you have from your childhood. Or have your mom or dad choose your tbr. Or have your favorite booktubers choose your tbr? IDK i think it would be good. You know how much i love you! Keep slaying Katie-Zo

I can't for the life of me listen to an audiobook if I have the physical copy😅 I have no idea where I picked that from .. LOL ... That's the sole reason I don't buy thriller books. Because most of the audiobooks of thrillers are so good. I think you'll like Daisy Darker or The Silent Patient, which are kind of thriller staples.. haha

I would try the book Mexican gothic if you haven’t read that. Maybe another lock Every door, the turn of the key, the silent patient or the maidens. Maybe even verity.

You know I Know What You Did Last Summer is actually a book by Lois Duncan? If not totally check it out on your reading where see it’s very different but keeping the same stuff from it.
As for me I still like the movie I know what you did last summer cause saw it back in when it was in theaters in October 97 at age 13 where it was my first rated R including Horror movie in the big screen ever. Was I terrified? Oh yes! Saw it at night.
Lots of people were there seeing it and wow lots of screaming alright with jump scares. It was a blast. The movie was number one at box office for three weeks.

Any tips on finding readathons to join? I feel like I stumble into them or find old ones that aren't going anymore (which could still be fun but less fun) but they are so fun to be a part of!
i feel like i just stumble upon them as well honestly? but i also subscribe to a decent amount of people who also do readathons that interest me so that helps as well

loved Gone Girl!! One of my few fav thrillers, also always feel like the twists of most thrillers are so underwhelming. I also gave Episode 13 four stars - it falls into the subgenre of cosmic horror which typically books in that subgenre never have clear cut ending and it's usually hit or miss for me i also didn't like the ending of episode 13. Congrats on 50k Katie!!!!
