Accident! Car Crashed T-Boned making a left turn!

- looks like someone was in a hurry to turn left failed to yield to oncoming traffic. This and 2 other intersections between the I-95 exit and rt 29 are dangerous. Alot of last minute left turns/U turns in front of 60+mph traffic on this stretch of highway.

Imagine being able judge the speed of an incoming vehicle or paying attention to oncoming traffic lol
This is why green arrow are better. Why does our road system let something like this happen by letting a car turn left on a normal green light
It's not the system's fault someone doesn't see the car in front of them and decides to turn.
@@CMV314 No you're right, but sometimes a plain green light can still be too risky for a left turn, especially if there's a hill and you can't see the oncoming vehicle coming over the horizon until the last second. That was an issue at an intersection where I live. There were so many accidents there and one too many deaths that they finally put a turn arrow and it stopped the problem. The only minor drawback is having to wait longer to turn left now.
@@CMV314left turns on a solid green light should be abolished; too many people don’t pay attention and either speed like a motherfucker or turn without looking at the opposing lanes. These types of intersections have more car accidents than any other type of street or road

hey im currently defending my brother for a negligent charge for the passing of his wife in the passenger seat, similar accident except my brother hit the brakes and cranked left to avoid the turning car and ended up getting tboned in the opposite lane by the driver behind the turning car, single lane highway no stoplights so its up to the drivers to take their turns safely and the car that turned was the person who caused the accident but somehow my brother is the one getting charged with negligence due to the state claiming that he was speeding. How fast was the speed limit at that street?

@@joshwekony8861 we were blessed with a public attorney that fought well for him! she found many errors that the prosecution made from the get go and filed her ass off and instantly got rid of all felony charges and my brother only got charged with a misdemeanor of property damage for the guard rail that they ran into. No jail time. Thank god there are still good people out there in court rooms. she stood up during one of his hearings when she heard he didn’t have a public defender and offered her help. she was a bulldog in the courtroom and knew her shit. It all worked out in the end, grateful 🙏🏽

I had an accident just like this in July. I had that same impala but in black, though I was in the trucks situation. The car jumped out, stopped, and then tried to go all while I’m sliding just like in this video. My car slid much longer though as I knew they were going to come out a bit further back.

This is literally what happened but we got hit in the middle of the car and got pushed into another vehicle.
Been in 9 serious accidents in my life. Absolutely no fun at all! You never forget the sound of it.

I drove 90 through an intersection no accidents for me tho
I usually avoid certain left turns, usually ones with three or more lanes unless it's at night when there isn't much traffic otherwise there is too much to pay attention to from pedestrians, incoming traffic and their speed.

It most cases in this type of accident,the person making the left hand turn on the green light “not arrow “is a young inexperienced “probably female” driver,just speaking from personal experience,I have two family members who were involved in the exact same type of accident and both are female and late teens at the time,
You pretty much just described me lol. I'm a 19 year old inexperienced female who was tboned while trying to make a left turn a month ago. (I've only been driving myself for like 3 months ) I stopped in the left turn lane, waited until it turned green, and was waiting until I could turn bc there was ongoing traffic. I saw a white truck in the distance and I thought I had enough time to make the turn. I did not. No one was badly hurt (I had couple bruises and cuts and had to be cut out from my totaled car and the truck had a smashed front but the driver was ok thank God and got out and walked around and spoke to the police officers and stuff while I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. It was very traumatic and now I'm too scared to drive anywhere except to work and back. Anytime I drive or think about driving i see myself getting hit again or something bad happening. I definitely want to do everything I can to be a safer driver and am trying to do what I can to prevent it from happening again
@@amyhartman4637 I’m very sorry to hear about your accident,the main thing is that you are okay,I know it traumatic but try and make something positive come out of it,that something positive being that you learned from it,i to was a young inexperienced driver at one time,I’ve had a few accidents and many close calls but I learned from them and kept on keeping on,don’t let it hold you back,even when you are sitting still at a light or a stop sign don’t think you are completely safe,always look behind you using your mirrors and beside you,situational awareness is a great tool to have,I wish you all the best,you can move in any direction as long as it forward

Why do people turn in the same direction that the car that turns in front of them is going 0:09, do they want to crash into that car? If the SUV turned the opposite direction or simply went straight the impact would have been a lot less severe.
No!!! If he goes the opposite direction, he has more chances of possibly taking out all the other vehicles on the other side. The right side has more open space than the left. Watch the video again
And remember that, it depends on whether you are left or right-handed. You will naturally go to your stronger side

It does, if the turning arrow isn’t on its a yield. If there are no cars coming then you can go. With a green arrow you are protected to go

It has a doghouse style signal. The turn lane only gets a protected turn typically at the beginning of the cycle. Then once the line of traffic waiting to turn clears, the protected turn shuts off and it goes to a normal left turning vehicle yields to approaching traffic.
@@baddriversofnorthcentralma1594 Don't have those in my area. A green arrow usually goes to a solid yellow and then a solid red. The exception is a light nearby my workplace which goes from green arrow to a flashing yellow arrow, and then a steady yellow arrow to a red arrow,

I just had an 80yr old man run a red light t-boning me from my green light going straight & right ahead of the intersection. There is another light that was green 20ft ahead of the intersection leading me on to think thats why he went through his red light he hit me in. Also there is no video evidence or anything of that nature but he ran my green light t boning me & he’s trying to say i ran the red light what should i do lawyer up sue him for damages & also giving a false statement?
Honestly, it will be a tough fight for either side without evidence. The judge could very well dismiss the case entirely since their is not enough supporting evidence. Unless the other driver was breaking some other traffic law such as speeding, it would be difficult to prove with the damage of the vehicle alone. It would be best to let the judge to dismiss the case that is unless he is ruling in favor of the driver who crashed into you in which case you should get a lawyer to request a dismissal of the case due to lack of evidence Although a winning case is a preferable outcome but it is unlikely, but a dismissed case is better than a losing one. This would also that you or your insurance would be responsible for the damage of your car, but you would not be held responsible for the other driver's car. That's how I see it from the details you provided but UA-cam is not the best pace for advice, you need to talk to a lawyer. If you call around, most lawyers will offer free consultation before you and your decide to further legal action....you also might need a lawyer anyways to prove either that you were not fault or there is insufficient evidence to support your opposing party testimony so the case should be dismissed

To me; that's an open and case, between the Chevy Tahoe having a solid green several seconds before starting to cross that intersection, and that small white sedan turning in front of the former, def caused that crash.
@@ditsydaisysdo you know for a fact how fast said Tahoe was going and the posted speed limit on said road? Too, the green light was still green several seconds afterward.
The sedan was by far the main cause of that crash, coupled with its driver being oblivious.

From what I learned from my experience, it does not matter how fast the driver is going through those lights, he still had the right of way and the person turning has the duty to yield. In other words, if that driver was going through the lights at 160 MPS and the driver making the turn is still at fault.

It wasn’t a red light, it was a solid green, same as the cammer’s light.
