I hardly ever comment on videos but I feel compelled to after watching almost all of yours. You are the most dedicated bushcrafter on youtube hands down. I've been "bushcrafting" since before it became a buzzword and have lived off grid in Alaska for almost 20 years. I've also made and edited videos, so I know what goes into this. The amount of work that you put into this week after week, month after month, year after year is truly amazing. Hats off to you sir.

I am very proud to see that you are staying the course. I didn't figure you for a quitter. It is not how well we do with the fame and fortune, but how well we do with the rest, right? We aren't long time followers only b/c we just started on the UA-cam network recently (mostly separatists in this camp!), but we (my kids and I) are dedicated watchers now. You mentioned once in the last few weeks that the channel was not "profitable", and it appears you have reevaluated what profit really is. Much respect. We have learned a tremendous amount from watching your hands on application of the theories we can otherwise only read about. When I came up, the Boy Scouts was all there was. You have already become an iconic part of the standard fare for bushcraft education, without millions of dollars in donative support like that group. One man, dedicated, with a vision = difference. The networks will be calling, and the money will roll in. Be patient, and stay the course. I hope you are still doing this when you are old and gray my Man, that is living! You are making a hell of a difference, even though you may not always be able to see it. Few lead by example, and you do. What you seek is just around the bend.

My 12yr old step daughter had a sleepover last weekend. All the kids were hanging out in the 'kids cave" in the basement. I hear some strange creaking sounds when I passed the stairs..... go down to see what they are up to. All 6 girls are swinging on 2x4 and paracord hanging seats hanging from the main carrying beam. Lol. I look around, and proudly chuckle. I ask Lily "who's idea? Who made the swings?". She says she showed everybody how to make their own. That she makes them all the time out playing in the woods. I completely forgot making one for her on a fishing outing last spring. She tried to copy it, but couldn't remember how..... told me she youtubed "how to make a bushcraft swing seat", and recognized the channel in the results from watching it with me a couple times. Decided that's the best one if Bonus Dad paid attention to it. Your knowledge is definitely sinking in on a new generation. They got a big kick out of how simple it is once you know a few tricks, and how to look at the task from the right perspective. Now they all want to build a pioneer fort in the woods this summer.

Sunday morning’s: Coffee and Corporals Corner….. I very much enjoyed your video today. The pulley system you used was very informative. When I need to know how to do something, I go check your videos out first. Loved the swing. Help you cool off in that humidity. Look forward to next week already. Thank you for being you

Glad to Corporal's inner child come out to play. In a servival situation people forget the need for a distraction/relaxing. Sometimes, just the change of view that this provides can help you solve problems in different ways. It is so important to have something like a swing to give you that change in perspective, and it just might be fun. Thanks for another great video.

Outstanding! Although I don't believe Miley Cyrus can pull a 450 lb log up a hill without Billy Ray haha! Love the use of chordage, been trying to tie all these knots. Thank you Corp! I'll be here next Sunday!

Love this build Brother! I really like the thick bright rope that you used which made it easier to see the knots you tied, and last but not least, loved the swing, lol

Your videos definitely helped me when I went camping just a few days ago. I had to tie my tarp to a ridge line over my hammock. I tied my bowline, passed a small section of rope through and slid a toggle through it on one end. Then I tied my truckers hitch on the other end, and added two prusik knots with two toggles to keep my tarp secured on the ridge line. In my pack I keep in my vehicle I did have some stakes so I used those instead of making my own from scratch but it was already pouring down rain at the time. But like you say if it ain’t raining, we ain’t training! I love your videos and hope to continue seeing more of them. Semper Fi boss man!
P.S. I miss seeing your son in your videos. It’s a special joy to see a father with his son teaching him a thing or two and also just spending quality time together.

You’re skill set is incredible! Ever thought about selling weekend trips with the Corporal? One on one hands on training with you? Could be a good income earner?

If I had the funds I would go for that! Of course, a hal- blind 1/3 deaf city slicker with diabetes and Fibro would NOT be an asset in the woods. I would likely end up being a bear meal -- without bacon or onions!

@@PierreaSweedieCat Haha! I’m diabetic as well and to be honest, my idea of ruffing it is staying at a Holiday Inn, but my 10mm and my shooting skills would probably keep me from being a bear’s meal. That said the corporal might get irritated with me watching him do all the hard work and build a trap and leave me in the woods.

@@PierreaSweedieCat I think it's best we leave this as just an idea for others and stay safe in our own normal environments.
