Don't take this the wrong way, but thank you for having things go wrong. Showing unexpected adversities and how to overcome them is a important as showing what to do when things go as planned. Keep up the great work!

Seeing some real garbage comments in here from people. If you are one of those people saying garbage to this dude it says WAY more about YOU than anything else. I mean lets just do a quick inventory here. You are literally slinging salt on a Veteran that is teaching “camping skills” for free. It sucks that you haters exist. Love the show Corporal!

This was actually one of the most encouraging bushcraft videos I’ve seen in a while. To know that someone who is a veritable expert in the field has crap days like this is a boost to those of us just getting started in practicing bushcraft techniques. Thanks for your honesty and for not being one of those UA-camrs that doesn’t show the problems.

This was probably my favorite video that you posted mainly cuz everything was going wrong. You maintained your cool, settled on other ways and got things done. That's actually good to watch for the beginner to low level intermediate to show how to handle things when they don't go as planned.

3 weeks isn't going to fit in a bag. Like others said you need to learn skills to enhance your pack. Or cache supplies to where you can get to and find them later. Really only two options. Combination of both is best.

    • @Jmlittle844
      @Jmlittle844 2 роки тому +29

He has all that information in his other videos.
Check out the ones on the bug out bags if you're interested in what gear to pack.
But to survive for 3 weeks in the woods it's not going to come down to gear. It'll come down to knowledge and skills.
I'd like to see more catch and cook stuff that doesn't have to be blurred to make UA-cam happy.
He's working on a paid video format that let's him do and say whatever he wants. Keep an eye out for that.

Happy to see a bushcraft build after so long without one.
    But.
I love the mix of solo overnighters without a bushcraft shelter, also.
Keep up the mix, please. It breaks up the repetitiveness of bushcraft shelters most of the time.
Sorry about the camera, but glad you stuck it out and finished the video.
    Keep em coming.

Good on you for showing that not everything goes according to plan, even for the professionals. Nothing is more demoralizing and discouraging for someone trying something new than to see a perfect scenario play out on ScrewTube, then having it fall apart when they try it. Life doesn't have an edit option to remove those faux pas and frustrations and you did your viewers a real solid by demonstrating that!

Great video. As always thank you for your time. Just in case you’re feeling like everything is in fact going wrong know this. My little man watches these with me every week. A few days ago he was out in our yard and I noticed he was gathering limbs that had fallen out of a tree. A few minutes later he comes running to me and says “ Look Daddy I made a fire starter like Corporal does”. He had stripped the bark and made himself a bird’s nest at 7 years old with zero help. That’s good stuff.

Hey Corporal. Yeah, things got juuust a bit F.U.B.A.R. there but you got S.A.D. to be glad. One of the best "porch" camp setups that I've ever seen. Simple, easy to build and comfortable. Definitely for more than a 1 nighter with a small cache of creature comforts (skeeter net, smokes, hooch and tunes). But, I have to say that most of your "overnight" camp builds are more like "weekenders". Out-fkn-standing nonetheless.

I can't remember what I originally bought it for, but I wound up with one of those pocket knife style folding saws. The housing was natural wood.
    At any rate.
My wife of the time arranged for all of us to go to the u cut Christmas tree farm where they hay ride you out to where you select and cut your tree, "saw privided"
The provided saw couldn't cut a wet paper towel.
The following year, I thought to bring along my folding saw.
The folding saw was promptly christened "Santa's Little Helper" and it became customary to include it in the outing from then on.

Ah yes good old carpenter ants they love wood. Years ago my folks rented a cabin by the beach it was infested with carpenter ants the wood of the cabin was wet and they loved it. Well anyways it was about 2:30am my dad woke up in a panic thinking the ants 🐜 were chewing their way through the wall so he turned on the light to discover me eating a very crispy egg roll while watching the Goonies non stop on my portable DVD player
