  • In this video we introduce the second product in CIOKS Future Power Generation range - CIOKS 4 power supply for effect pedals. The difference between the stand alone Adapter Kit version and the Expander Kit is explained. The wide options of how to power CIOKS 4 from different power sources is explained and shown. In particular we show how to use CIOKS 4 with the 24V power adapter included with the Adapter Kit, how to use CIOKS 4 as expansion for the DC7 power supply, how to power it of a 1SPOT adapter, GigRig Generator, different powerbank types and unused AC outlets.
    CIOKS 4 is a very small and flat (only 1 inch tall) power supply for effect pedals with 4 isolated outlets each providing 6W which corresponds to 660mA @ 9V DC. Each outlet is configurable to four different voltages 9, 12, 15 or 18V and also has an individual LED status indicator. CIOKS 4 has also a global LED status indicator which shows if the power supplied to CIOKS 4 is ok. The included set of 5 Flex cables allows you to power a total of 6 pedals where you have 3 powered of a single outlet using the included 3-way daisy chain.

    Unboxed my new CIOKS 4 last night and was blown away by the build quality and performance--does exactly what it says on the tin! Also, I absolutely love the fact that it's an EU designed and made product, as I only buy equipment from companies/countries with ethical labor and business practices. Well done on this little box of electric goodness.

    I was happy to finally find a perfect small size, insolated, reliable power supply for an only 4 high quality high current pedal train I have, I was about to buy it (to use it as a stand-alone supply) but I realized it is very hard and expensive to get the "24v40w adapter" and it's a must to get the complete power out of this... damn! it's a pain in the neck! I'm saddly going back for a classic Voodoo Lab ISO 5 :(

    Need to make an “AC Brick” like this that has four 12V AC 800ma isolated power sections. That way people could choose whatever cioks unit they need for their DC power needs and link the “AC Brick” to it.

    Hello, I'm not an expert here so I have a simple question. From what I understand cioks 4 needs an adapter of 40w of power in order to reach its full potential. If I choose to power it with a 1spot 9v, hence as you said only 10w of power, does it mean that the pedals I want to power won't perform as good?

    Two questions :
    1. Approximately how long will a fully charged 10000 mAh power bank be able to provide power to cioks 4... Say you are using 4 analog pedals and 2 digital pedals (total of 6 pedals) ?
    2. Is there any added noise if you are using power bank to power cioks 4?

    Hey Guys I’m currently building a small pedalboard for an acoustic gig that I hopefully will have in the USA in August and I also want to continue using the board in the U.K when I get back home. I only have a digitech Jamman Stereo (4 button discontinued version) and a regular tuner pedal Boss TU2 and am wanting to get a power supply that A. Works in USA and U.K. and B. Powers the 9vAC 1.3a digitech pedal. Iv read that line the Line 6 DL4/M4 that is 9vAC 1.2a can but run off a 9vDC with 680ma or more. Is this something that is possible from the Cioks 4. Thanks Danny

    good to know the versatile power input options for this product! i just got mine. just wondering alternatively, can i power the CIOKS 4 using a USB-C power adapter? as long as the output is more than 40W? the likes of Anker etc.

    • @ciokspowersuppliesforeffec7533
      @ciokspowersuppliesforeffec7533  4 роки тому

      Yes, you can use a USB C power adapter to power the CIOKS 4 but only if you have version 1.1. Powering CIOKS 4 with a USB C is not possible for version 1.0. As CIOKS 4 only accepts 5V and 3A max. tha maxinum power you can feed into CIOKS 4 with a USB source is 15W.

      @@ciokspowersuppliesforeffec7533 That's very confusing ... isnt't the Cioks 4 in this video a Version 1.0 (Vintage 2019) unit? Yet, you're successfully powering it up with a USB C battery pack! So I really don't get the note about the v1.1 requirement in your previous reply...or is it referred to the possibility of supplying the v1.1 version with a wattage higher than 15W via the USB C connector?

    Would it be correct to assume that with an external AC Adapter of 12V and 3A (36W) it would still be possible to get from the Cioks 4 the full output power of 24W? Would there be any benefit in purchasing the 40W power adapter by Cioks, which I assume to be a 24V / 1.65A unit (or anything close to that)?

    • @ciokspowersuppliesforeffec7533
      @ciokspowersuppliesforeffec7533  3 роки тому +1

      Hi, 36W adapter at 24V DC is ok if it really puts out 36W. Then you still get the full output power of CIOKS 4 but not more than the full nominal output of 24W. The 36W adapter will struggle while the C4 would still have some headroom above 24W output. But going up to the edge of nominal output power will be ok.

    What is the difference between 1SPOT + DC4 and Ispot+ multi-plug 5 Cable?

    • @Poparad
      @Poparad 2 роки тому

      The DC4 provides isolated outputs, whereas the multi plug simply daisy chains all of the pedals on one interconnected circuit. Depending on your pedals, that can lead to extra interference noise (especially distortion pedals) while isolated outlets help prevent that. Also, each of the four DC4 outlets can be switched to 9, 12, 15, or 18v, if you have pedals that can run at those voltages, whereas the multi plug will be all 9v.

    OK, full power capability is 24 W. It is a bummer that USB-PD protocol is such a mess both for manufacurers like you and the consumer not knowing what exact cable is needed for such applications (in your case USB-PD V3.0 would have nailed it, then it would have been possible to accept 12V and 2A on the USB-C input to get the full power capabilty of your 4). So your power supply is always limited to 15 W when using the USB-C port both with a power bank and a USB power supply. That is 9 W less than your 4 could fully deliver. I will nevertheless buy the 4 just because it is the only (i think so) power supply on the market you could power directly with an USB power bank via its USB-C input.
