  • Why do we use the RCA plugs and sockets..?
    There are 4 reasons:
    1. They are more robust and durable.
    2. You get a much better mechanical connection.
    3. You get a much better electrical connection.
    4. You will not confuse input and output of the cables.
    Watch the video and find out in detail why the RCA connectors are better than the more common DC connectors.

    One more point is that if you need to fix a cable in emergency situations you can find RCA connectors really easily, or just buy a RCA cable pretty much everywhere, cut the plug and solder it. I had to fix a broken one in the middle on nowhere in Germany, found a small store and they had a RCA/mini jack cable. So much easier to fix compared to barrel type connectors and cables.

    Dude, you have an excellent product. It’s slim and easy to mount under the pedal board. Nice touch partnering with Temple Pedalboards Boards. Crazy easy configuring the power outlets with the dip switches. And, the expandability ROCKS! So glad I went with CIOKS for my new Temple Pedalboard build. I did a ton of online research before I decided on these products and I’m very pleased I did. Lake Wylie RiverBards

    Thanks. Your videos are helpful. Your website is a bit suboptimal. It's very slow and painful to find information quickly.

    I have used your power supplies for almost 10 years, mostly in the States (we're neighbors now), I have the DC10, DC5(?) and the Ciokolate. Never had a problem with any of them and love how great the feel. I'll be getting another one for a build with my HX stomp, at this point you've won me over, I'm not even considering other brands, they seem to be way behind your work. And with all the RCA extra cables I have, you could say I'm invested lol. But what about the power cable and socket? Why those and not the standard?

    Need to make an “AC Brick” like this that has four 12V AC 800ma isolated power sections. That way people could choose whatever cioks unit they need for their DC power needs and link the “AC Brick” to it.

      800mA 12v would be very nice - that would power most of my synths. 600 does not quite cut it

    I need to shorten my power cables and would like to make the cut at the RCA end. Do you have any recommendations for replacement RCA plugs?

    Absolutely no problem buying flex cables

    My only gripe is that I wish the cables, were round like strymon or voodoo labs. It just makes for more cleaner routing IMO. You sell open ended flex cables like that, so I don't know why you don't offer them pre-made.

    Thanks for this. I am making my own adapters. Are the RCA’s center positive or negative?

    • @XChristianNoirX
      @XChristianNoirX 4 місяці тому

      The RCA's are center-positive which drives me nuts because it's incompatible with 3 Monkeys Solderless DC cables which are the bees knees. You can't reverse the polarity on those cables.
      RCA connectors? Fine. Reverse polarity sucks.

    Such a shame you use those connectors, no matter how you try to sell them.

      I bought the Cioks DC7 precisely because of the RCA connectors. Standard does not always mean the best

    • @XChristianNoirX
      @XChristianNoirX 4 місяці тому +1

      The connectors are OK I suppose.. The reverse polarity sucks dirty ear wax out of a goat's ear.
