@LiamKillen - These episodes where you bring in other artists are so f*****ng awesome!! As a musician, hearing people talk about their process and approach is so great.... Like @EZBOT's live streams.
Absolutely love these episodes where you bring in people to explain their setups, your best vids imo, always an instant click. Weirdly enough, these are kinda hard to find! If you want to find out what musicians really play out with, it’s either the UA-camrs who have tons of videos and whose setup you know forward and back already, or it’s little one offs that lack a detailed walk through. Cool stuff, man.
Great interview! Claire is an awesome artist and her workflow is really great. I find interesting when she mention the investment of 10years+ working with hardware and it wasn’t a lot considering what you need to learn. Totally agree on that take!
Great watch. Loved what she said.. also her choice of gear. Imo you don't have to roll with all new kit to make great music. The gen 1 Elektron kit still sounds great and can be just as inspiring.
Absolutely - I have a video in the works using some older Elektron gear as well and it works just as well as the new stuff - depending on how you like to use it.
Love this! I’d be interested to see how she packs up these units for transport…. I know that’s a no brainer for some people but not me. I get hung up on that stuff
Replying again to say, this would be a great addition. It’s not easy to find stuff about how people transport the gear in a way that allows them to setup in under an hour lmao
I would love to see that kind of episode! I am always having to rethink how to pack and transport modular, pedals, amps, and guitars…. Not always all together, but sometimes
Very cool seeing Claire on this channel. Shared the stage many, many years ago, and always enjoyed her attitude and playful creative energy. She always maintained a taste for chaos, and it’s so awesome to see that going DAWless provide avenues for freedom. Still quite new to DAWless, myself. Great video. Really glad to be a new subscriber and tune into this! Thank you. 👊🏾🧔🏾♂️
although stimming's latest album (elderberry) was mastered post, he did record everything live i believe. his latest video is a magnificent display of dawless. just mentioning it as example of not needing post edit. great episode!
I really enjoyed the format of this video. I've always found it slightly weird how far removed the synth scene and the electronic music (and more specifically club) scene seem on UA-cam, so it's nice to see them brought together a bit more here. I also really enjoy the Thomann videos for this reason.
Love these interview videos man. I‘d really like you to go a little more in detail how these artists approach mixing live. In my experience the hardest thing apart from transitions in a live set is mixing. How to approach headroom, low-end and how to make everything gel together.
I thought of something really funny. You should have had a scene where you reached into her set and hit some buttons and she slaps your hand. That would have been epic. I liked the alien voice FX when you asked one of your questions that was very funny. Another good informative video from you.
The Zoom R* series of multitrack recorders are absolutely criminally underrated! They can be midi controlled loop players and they crush for ambient sets. I use two R8s with an SP404MK2 and a digitone sending midi all over the place and I love it
bit of a mixed bag, multi-timbral mode. if you don't stretch it too far it might work. the desktop version also seems a little more stable than the keyboard one (I have the former, had the latter)
I wish I could get a dollar every single time the word "like" is said during this video. At the end of the episode I would have enough $$$ to buy all Elektron boxes. But the detailed setup breakdown is priceless.
Nice Setup, i think it woud be nice for some progresive Tek or maybe slower psychodelic Minimals Like for example ua-cam.com/video/Bh_k29HfM44/v-deo.html🔊 And The Stop ! - The silence can be reviving or calming but the sound must Vibe out with the Space & the write groove or frequence with all the composition and The Groving out or the so called Stop Accent!_ thats a damm really need and sweet trick. for exampleua-cam.com/video/HdJnDqcRgbg/v-deo.html🔊

this music turns the crowd on the dance floor to the moon, excellent
hell yeah
Energy of Claire is super captivating! BTW: nice minimalistic setup.
Yeah she's got some great advice - thank you for watching ! :-)
And another performer speaks of how much she loves running two sequencers in tandem. I’m fast learning that I’ll probably end up with every machine.
Yeah two sequencers at once is pretty dope though haha.

Really loving your media content with other artists Liam! You keep making awesome work. Thanks.

Great vid! Thanks Liam!
Thx Surco! Lots more like this to come!
Nice. Thanks for the info. How do you manage compression?
There's a bit of compression going on in between each of these units, outside of that, within the confins of this set up, no compression !
Thanks for interviewing ppl that manage to breakthrough the dawless matrix and show how to make cool music on the fly.. keeps hopes up.. ❤🙏❤
It needs to be done!
What a cool interview/demonstration

Please do more, there isn't enough out there on how people play.
