- This video is about closing the right hardware for you. We will look at why I use the specific pieces of gear I use, how I use each, and what each does especially well for my live improvised techno performance workflow. I will demonstrate how I use the Electron Digitakt, Elektron Octatrack, Elektron Digitone, 1010 Music Blackbox, Strymon Big Sky, Elektron Analog Heat, and EOwave Quadrantid Swarm to make improvised live techno.

Elektron Rytm MK2 is best all in one techno box or Virus TI2 and sometimes both or small modular case with drums and sequencer and effects processor and mixers.
Great content. Too many ads. Turn the frequency please. Basically every 2 mins.
The Quadrantid Swarm is a Techno machine. Instant Aphex Twin sounds, too.
thank u for the content !
*Digitone is 8 voices, not 4. 4 tracks and 8 total voices.
Cool, inspiring. What I didn't get is how to achieve diversity
I've always wondered, how does frequency masking work playing a live set with hardware ? I never see the guy actually equing anything, and still everything seems to fall into place
I was also thinking about such a power supply but didn’t buy it because it couldn’t deliver enough power for some analog synths. So I found a way to fix all original power supplies under my rig.
Great video. Except 3 months later you performed a live gig and used a heck of a lot of other gear than what’s in this video. Lol it was quite impressive how much other gear you were using. Great stuff tho!
Thank you very much for this very insightful video, much appreciated! I have been adding gear to my "small" collection, and, it has been somewhat of a challenge trying to figure out what I need (and, most important, what I do not need) for my music style and direction. And, I must say, just do it for personal (fun) use at home.
Now, if you’re wanting to live techno, it’s important to make sure you select the right gear for you. Gear that feel like for your particular needs. I’m going to go through the process of how you go about it depending on your own unique personal requirements. First thing you’re going to have to do is go and purchase all of Electron’s flagship sequencers. Every one of them. That’s the right gear for you.
Well done! I’m getting all set up to go live. Super inspired. Just ordered the swarm. Wow what a great sound on that thing. Good sounds nice groove man!
I’ve just started dabbling into hardware recently after 2 years of just producing with instruments & daw. great info! Very helpful thank you for putting this out there! 🙏
Loved your work man, please keep doing it. Thank you 🙏
