• Rock and Roll Live Vid...
Rock And Roll (Live at Madison Square Garden, New York, 1973)."Rock and Roll" single 8 November 1971.
Lyrcis:
It's been a long time since I rock and rolled
It's been a long time since I did the Stroll
Oh let me get it back let me get it back
Let me get it back baby where I come from
It's been a long time been a long time
Been a long lonely lonely lonely lonely lonely time
Yes it has
It's been a long time since the book of love
I can't count the tears of a life with no love
Carry me back carry me back
Carry me back, baby, where I come from
It's been a long time, been a long time
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time
Seems so long since we walked in the moonlight
Making vows that just can't work right
Open your arms, opens your arms
Open your arms, baby, let my love come running in
It's been a long time, been a long time
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time
If an alien from outer space ever asked what is this "Rock and roll" thing we hear is important to humans ? This is where I would direct them. 😊👍
Led Zeppelin, The Greatest Rock n Roll Band Of All Time
He is a guitar god. Amazing what you can do with just bass, drums and one guitar. Best rock band ever. my opinion
Cream had a short stint with 3 and a guitar god as well.
Fact!
Where do u out ACDC and Pink Floyd!!
If you have John Bonham in your Band , you can do everything.
Jimmy Page’s swagger was something else man!
They opened this concert playing this song, & you can tell they were having so much fun.
Fun fact, we got this song because Bonham was getting frustrated, trying to get the timing down on Four Sticks. Four Sticks was Bonham playing with two sticks in each hand, sadly it was only played live once, with no visual. Bonham took a break & started playing this beat, in about 30 minutes the band wrote & recorded this song. We luckily got two great songs, instead of one great song. Bonham was then able to play & record Four Sticks in two takes. Greatest band ever.
70s rock and roll was badassery on a whole other level.
Hi people.I'm 72 years old.Need I say more about Led Zeppelin.Even those these two never heard this song before look how they got caught up in a song that was 50 years old. They were down with Led Zeppelin even after all these years.
Led Zeppelin does not
plug in to amplifiers
Led Zeppelin
plugs in to your SOUL ❤
This is how Zep opens up every show. I was at Fort Knox in '78. Got tickets and saw them in Louisville Ky. Ticket was 8.50, still got the stub.
Been listening to Zeppelin for 50yrs. I still get shivers everytime I hear them, there is NO band like Zeppelin, the God's of rock n roll. 🤟
Just the greatest rock band in history
One of the best ways to describe Led Zepplin starts by using the term Iconic. Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and John Bonham were, and still are considered to be four of the best musician's rock n' roll ever produced. In their short career together from 1968 until 1980, they created the very model of a modern band which is still used today by a host of others. The formula is a successful combination of hit songs delivered with intense, explosive quality that always was best served up live in concert venues worldwide. But if you stop there you run the risk of missing out on all the elements that made them the success they would become. Professional band management, marketing, promotion and packaging played a huge role in their success.
Led Zeppelin Is The Best 👍💯
greatest band ever ... jimmy page is a beast & john bonham was the best drummer ever ..
Never will be done any better than that . My life is blessed for being a teenager when they were in their prime
Greatest band ever! All 4 were the best musicians to ever come together to make pure magic!
Greatest Band Ever!
ZEPPELIN BEST DAMN BADASS BAND EVER!!!! THEY ARE THE EPITOME OF GOAT!!!!!
Hammer of the gods😎
Jimmy Page was one of the greats. One of the greatest guitar players of all time in the ROCK world. Check out Zeppelin. They aren't your alley but they are one of the greats of the greatest era in all Rock. The 70s thru the early early 80s. Never be another time like it.
Ever are welcome the Led Zeppelin performers. All this concert...All...is a more perfect concert I had ever see
Saw them 1977 Chicago stadium. My first concert. Jimmy Page playing doubleneck and John Bonham beating the hell out of the drums is what I remember most
GOAT. Since I been Loving You live at MSG, 73. One of the best performances EVER.
Please watch Since Ive Been Loving You from this same concert...unbelievable!!🎵🎶🎸
Definitely a must
I was there. Friend of mine from the Marines called me up and told me he had tickets to the Saturday night show. Flew up to NYC. Him and his girlfriend hooked me up with her cousin. We saw them live and then had a great time after. 6 mths later she moved to Texas and we have been together ever since.
This song runs right into "Celebration Day" without a pause.
Doing the "Rock n' Roll/Celebration Day" duo would be a good one...
Then you can go down the list from this MSG show.
Highlights would be:
Since I've Been Lovin' You
The Song Remains the Same
Rain Song
No Quarter from this show is my favorite version they ever did
It actually runs into Black Dog
I like the higher melody Plant sings on the recorded track but they always give a great live performance!!
Check out the live version in Sydney in early 1972. It's as high as the studio. By 1973 he had nodules on his vocal cords and had to have an operation after the '73 tour. His voice was never the same.
@@lyndoncmp5751 Wasn't aware of that information. Wondered why Plant didn't use his vocals on this live performance the same as he did on the original recording. Thanks for the insight.
Bebi C,
Well as I said, Plant couldn't sing like that anymore by 1973. He sings most songs different live in 1973 compared to 1972. Plant really strained his voice by belting it out live in 3 hour concerts. He smoked, he carried on putting on a, show when he had colds etc. He gave it his all. By late 1972 it took effect and he developed those nodules on his vocal cords which gave him a lot of problems. He still carried on though, making it worse. I don't think he knew how bad it was.
Cheers.
This is an all-time anthem!
This is from their legendary concert film “The Song Remains The Same”…released in 1976, of their 1973 concert at Madison Square Garden….with additional footage!
You should really find the entire film and watch it!
More Zeppelin Please!
Hearing both the studio and live versions of these songs is best.
With Zeppelin, the studio versions are masterpieces of production, but the live versions are different, since they didn't bring in extra musicians to try and duplicate multiple tracks.
So the live versions are different arrangements, with different guitar tone etc.
Gotta hear both versions. 🤙😎
No quarter, from that show is sick.
Oh yes indeed, Jimmy's outfit!!! And I dig Robert's gap-tooth grin. What an amazing band!
Great reaction.... I love you... Susie❤❤❤❤
Heart did a great cover of this song when I saw them the day Elvis died. They dedicated it to the King of Rock n Roll!
Best.. Band..Ever..
Love this song, however there are so many better.. When the levee breaks, Good times bad times or Fool in the Rain is three of my favorites together with Kashmir of course.
Their legendary concert film “The Song Remains The Same”. When I was a teenager they would show this at the midnight movies on the weekend. One of the greatest rock movies ever! You really should react to Dazed & Confused from this show.
We us to go to the midnight movie The Song Remains the Same. It was just like a live show.
Oh I'm looking!!! Was looking back then and still look today 😊
That drum opening is an omage to Little Richard's drummer, and is similar and was inspired by the drum intro to Keep A Knocking by Little Richard.
Yes, hence why its called Rock and Roll. A tribute.
Thank God I saw them live
Great reaction video! More Led Zeppelin, please 🙏
I love MY strip also. Great live version. Every tune from the 1973 MSG concerts is epic. Zeppelin at the top of their game.
Unfortunately it's actually just after Robert plant blew out his focal cords and would never be able to hit the high notes again. Everything from early 73 and 72 is prime. That's where he actually sounds exactly like he sounds on the radio
@@Demoguy87 I’m guessing you didn’t see/hear Robert on the WLL ending. He still sounds great on O2 concert and he’s still performing albeit he does the higher notes sparingly.
@@InfinitelyCrazyAboutLZ it would have been hard not to see it or hear it considering I was there. Overall he sounded good and was able to put on a heck of a show. But in no way shape or form, does he even have one ounce left of what he had prior to 1973. He used to be able to go on high pitch runs and speak every word fluently. Now he can only get a brief shriek in that you can tell is about to break his throat. Love him to death. He's my favorite of all time. Definitely the greatest but his voice was lost and it never came back. Now he works with what he has.
@@Demoguy87 Very lucky to have seen them live! I was born too late 😞Still love watching them on Blu-ray & yt but unfortunately they didn’t record a lot of live videos. Really loved Plant when he was with Strange Sensation (?) very strong during that period imo. Maybe we’re similar in that Led Zeppelin I & II are favorites??
@@InfinitelyCrazyAboutLZ I was born too late. Also, the show the other commenter is referring to was in 2007 I believe at the O2 arena in England. It was the once in a lifetime opportunity. They all got back together. John bottom the drummer son played
Yeah I graduated in 72 of course I’m in Los Angeles I meant it never made it to Madison Square Garden but boy that would’ve been quite a concert!!
Oh you gotta check out Dazed and Confused from this concert.. it will change your soul
From the film"The Song Remains the Same". There was a soundtrack album I had heard before I saw the movie. I was 12 years old when I saw it in the local theatre on a Saturday afternoon. I was already playing guitar but I just tried a little harder after hearing that.😁Big influence.🎶👍 Check out the movie in its entirety🍻🇨🇦
That’s your parents and aunts and uncles ❤️
Doesn't get any better
My all time favourite Zepplin song.
So much memories ... I saw them in Bruxelle (Belgium) (This was the last tour before the death of John Bonham) ... I will nevet forget this concert ... It's the only concert where I came out of it completely deaf ... Never live that experience again ... But it was incredible ...
Oh no! How long to regain hearing?
@@aWOKEn1445 almost 3 or 4 hours ... The next day it was ok ...
Saw the boys at my university, Southampton, in January 1973 - just 600 of us students squeezed into The Old Refrectory (dining hall) it was recorded and I have the official bootleg - "Any Port in a Storm - The Lost Soundboard Tapes" - Magic.
Love those chords Page hits at the end!
Saw these guys live, I think it was 72, Maple Leaf Gardens Toronto Canada, and the lead guitarist, the great Jimmy Paige, bass John Paul Jones, drums Jon Bonham and of course vocals Robert Plant!
That guitar solo. Whoa.
Lz, the baddest mf's on the planet.
It was almost exactly the same pin 75 when I saw them. Great opener. In 77 it was in the encore. Still great. Page had more hair in 75 & 77
That's how you do the damn thing..
Great , fun reaction. Straight up: You do much Zeppelin at all, and you will gain MANY new viewers like myself, lol! There is a large tribe of us out there, and we are known for our FLOCKING behavior. The algo points us to a Zep reaction, and we rush on over, loving to see what others think of our favorite band! It's ok if they're not--each to their own--but usually Zep "newbies" are gobsmacked by their tunes and performances. "The Lemon Song" audio, ANY "Whole Lotta Love" video, and all others, lol!
There's a video on YT of a priceless rock 'n' roll duo from the 50's performing on the Tex Ritter Show, which I remember seeing at the time. They were The Collins Kids doing "Shortnin" Bread Rock" in 1957. Check out the young fellas outfit. Rock 'n' roll music was only a matter of months old back then. Love your reaction video... tons of fun. But check out these kids! They sold it big time back then. ✌ ❤
Second dose of rock 'n' roll from you today! Thanks again, love it.
Check out the song The ocean from the same concert.
From the same 1973 Madison Square Garden concert, you gotta check out the songs, 'The Song Remains the Same' and 'The Rain Song' played back-to-back.
There are a bunch of great videos from the 1973 MSG concert
Watch all the MSG performances!! OMG!!! And 1975 Earls Court and 1979 at Knebworth!! All KILLER PERFORMANCES!! Jimmy is not only the greatest guitarist ever but he produced ALL their albums!!!
Don't forget Danmark Radio 1969 and Royal Albert Hall 1970. Those are my two favourites. Zeppelin were more raw then. Love MSG too though.
Jimmy Page was very big on the artistic side of their presentation. I think he designed his own outfits.
Check this out "Rock & Roll" at Wembley Stadium with a dream team:
Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Foo Fighters on drums)
Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters drummer RIP on vocals)
Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin on guitar)
John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin on bass)
Dave is having the time of his life. Taylor is killing the vocals
Jimmy & John tear the place down doing what they do best!
React to the whole damn album...you won't regret, guaranteed!!
Saw them on this tour, They played for over three hours. Played their new double album for the second half of the concert. Saw them in Detroit. Friend had connections had the whole twentieth row from one side of the arena to the other. Sold some extra tickets outside for our cost eight fifty each, yes under ten bucks.
Play led zeppelin dazed and confused live from MSG 1973
Yes!!
Just keep going!
This was the 1st song from their Legendary Concert Film:
LED ZEPPELIN
THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME
"IN CONCERT...AND BEYOND!"
Just continue in the proper chronological order.
TRUST ME on this one.
You'll be GLAD you DID!
I wish you could review the entire 26 minutes of Dazed and Confused from this concert but it's been taken down. Again I recommend the concert DVD. The Song Remains the Same.
How have you never seen or heard this?
I like ribeye the best!
That guitarist is the great jimi page
these two are toasted
🤘🤘🤘
There's the whole concert to react to. Do "Black Dog" from the same show!
Jimmy Page, Sonic boom rhythm.
Led Zep 1973 Since I've Been Loving You live...a panty dropper for guaranteed results.
Biggest band in the world at the time. MSG was, for them, a mid-sized venue.
Yeah they'd already played Tampa Stadium, Atlanta, Braves Stadium, and Kezar Stadium in San Francisco.
👍
Black dog same concert 👍
Too bad You Tube has taken most videos from this concert down . You can still pull up audio from it though. Ideally I recommend buying the concert DVD. It's titled The Song Remains the Same. It's a must !
Led Zeppelin-sold out every concert they did for 12 years. Did 3-4 hour sets every show. 20 MILLION requests for a 22,000 seat reunion concert in 2007! Time for you to do Kashmir from that O2 London 2007 then Dazed & Confused Live MSG 73. Jimmy Page is The Best Guitarist Ever-look him up!! Sexiest lead&rhythm Guitar God on the planet!! Turns 80 next month and just inducted Link Wray into the R&R Hall of Fame. No one will ever touch them especially John Bonham! 🤘🏻
Funfact...Lead singer Robert Plant was known to steal the shirt of the girl he slept with the previous night. Then wear it on stage.
For some reason you guys have decided to sit in front of the screen so I can't see the band now. Is this going to be a regular thing? Long-time subscriber.
Jimmy Page is at or near the top of greatest guitarists ever.
Jimmy looks hilarious in that outfit, but hey, they could get away with anything in front of their fan base. And Robert Plant is missing a tooth in this journey, LOL.
Kill the king - Rainbow
hi there, you should watch and react the PINK FLOYDS song SORROW live at pulse 94 concert
Uh yeah Led Zeppelin is “really good “
Janis Joplin canta esta música durante as gravações do disco Pearl. Como vocês poderiam reagir? Abraço grande de Natal RN, Nordeste do Brasil.
Listen to other versions...the studio version!
As guitarist Jimmy Page got older, his wardrobe was a little more subdued, but was still unique.
At the Royal Albert Hall 3 years before this he's in a knitted tank top. A far cry from this stage outfit.
(Runic symbols title) 1971
They were so BAD back then, and even some today, filming a guitar player playing a solo! Some instruction here, YOU SHOW THE GD FINGERBOARD!!!
The worst is not showing any if the epic No Quarter solo from this performance in favor of the Gandalf scenes.
React to Within Temptation's newest song "Wireless", such a great one....
Do....Hearts version!
Dude....if you're in a band and you haven't played this song, you're not in a band! Every drummer ever will at some point play the intro to this song.
Travis I believe Susie was implying she wanted some A1 marinated sausage from you….
Skyhooks liveing in the 70s
I raise beef cattle
Please make a reaction to : Wally World Encinitas - RAISE SOME KAINE 😁 ))
That is definitely the best music video of all times 🤘🤩
