      its not about the condition, its about the power. checkout my facebook boxexhaust album. the siproad 1 and 2 is very old and only provides low power. it kindof throttles the engine with a good modern cylinder.

    Hi Mista FMP.
    First, I’ve got to say, what a great channel. Your knowledge is first class and your videos are excellent. I particularly like that you are more interested in things functioning correctly than looking pretty 😉. I am getting back into Vespa tuning after 30+ years and it has made me realise I didn’t really know anything then, and what I did know I've forgotten.
    I have a PX150E which I’m using for fun and I have picked up a nearly complete 1983 P125 engine to spice it up (I'd like happy all day 100-110kph with ability to overtake at 120kph+)
    It is missing the ignition, piston, some smaller components and needs a new crank. I have it completely stripped down, ready for full porting and rebuild.
    Shopping list-
    -VMC 177 stelvio kit
    -24mm SI carb
    -SIP fixed ignition
    -fast flow fuel tap
    I have some questions which I hope you can help with-
    -Could you recommend a 57mm crank?
    -Which off the shelf clutch would go well with this?
    -My 150 already has a SIP Road 2 exhaust, should I consider something else (not too loud though)
    -Are there any other main parts I have missed, or parts you would change?
    I want to put a single order in to SIP and hope that everything I need arrives right first time so I can get on with it.. (not a chance!!)
    Thanks
    Nick

      thx! 😁 sharing is caring. A lot changed. No one would habe expected that!
      Primary 65
      Sip ultrastrong clutch 23
      would rather take sip road 3
      the v2 is quite old already
      mazzucchelli is a fine crank
      If u need a new one go for 60mm and add a head gasket

    • @knohairknick
      @knohairknick 3 роки тому

      @@FreakMoPed8 Thank you for the quick reply- it is really appreciated. I don't know where you find the time.
      Unfortunately SIP road 3 not back in stock until Feb 2022.
      You suggest in your comments below a Polini- would it be the racing exhaust (SIP code 2002018)?.
      Also on your videos it seems a 60mm crank needs extra opening work on the VMC 177 Stelvio cylinder ports. Would it be better to buy VMC Crono 187 instead for 60mm?
      I'm happy doing case porting, but eyes not what they were for fine work in the cylinder ports..!
      Thank you again,
      Nick

    • @FreakMoPed8
      @FreakMoPed8  3 роки тому +1

      poliniBOX / polini original box is the one, one or the best box exhaust. polini racing is sca, ever since. pure optic & sound tuning but nothing else than an original exhaust looking different.
      if are capeable of porting cases, you can also port cylinders, wait, gonna show you:
      ua-cam.com/video/pIcKh45Erv4/v-deo.html
      also 57mm is fine, longstroke is by far overrated, intake and cylinder timings are more important. ensure rotary valve tolerance 0,05mm and take care regarding oil sucker weak spot

    • @FreakMoPed8
      @FreakMoPed8  3 роки тому

      thats why the polini racing is scam. its the perfect throttle but far away from being a racing exhaust. sadly still sold with old & wrong 90ies info / promises

    with my Vespa Sprint Veloce, I added a Scooter centre reed plate as the rotary pad was dead. (this raised the carb box 12mm. I had the engine case opened up at the manifold just like a red valve engine. Like you I added a 177 kit and a 24SI carb, but I haven't drilled the 1.5mm hole which feeds the main jet. Is this why it starts fine but even go 100mm and the engine just stops???

      2,5mm it shall be pls. maybe it sizes yes, but "engine stops" is a general statement, it can have many reasons. In any case, you need a 2,5mm bore

      120 air does only work with be4 on be3 its WAY too rich. t5 carb and air filter is cool, but problem. Is the missing short jets. I would rather set other factors right, and simply use a standard si24 carb. Easypeasy to set.

      OK so a bit of an update.
      I have fitted a 125 main jet (dellorto sizing) and it runs much better
      I was incorrect about it having a BE3 fitted it always had a BE4
      The VMC was fitted because I had a wrist pin failure on the Malossi 166 that was previously fitted. It was running a 130 main jet but on an undrilled carb.
      It seems to me that drilling the carb passage drive the main jet down considerably??? I could possibly even go down in jetting a little from where I am at present. (122 or 120)

    • @FreakMoPed8
      @FreakMoPed8  3 роки тому

      the "big" mj were not big, they were just not fed 100% due to too little fuel.
      now the jets are fed 100% = are what the stamp on it says
      so yes, the jetting may go down
      with the big ones it may drown now
