  • guide for 177 & 210 pnp tuning. all u need2 know about: carb - cylinder - piston - ignition - clutch & si fuel supply - fuel tap - fuel hose. simply follow the guide and there is nothing to worry about :) ------- BIIIG enbarassing MISTAKE at 2:37, so SORRY guys! idle mixture screw of course: IN=LEANER and OUT=RICHER! ... ------
    will add another short vid to correct it!
    carb settings pnp tuning with 5&8mm bores in the airfilter:
    177: 160/BE3/122, 160/55(2,9)=screw 3 turns out
    210: 160/BE3/125, 160/55 (2,9)=screw 3 turns out
    these are the correct settings for si carb based on many many engines. theay are all the same! IF this doesnt work with another engine, there is a problem and the engine not healthy.
    ie: IF the idle Jet needs to be leaner = bigger than 2,9 the engine is sick, it could have an oilsucker for instance and/or a crank that doesnt fit the rotaryvalve pad (bigger than 0,05mm tolerance) NOT A SINGLE healthy rv si engine needs an idle Jet leaner than 2,9 as it is for the original 200ccm setup and we do what? Tuning! so it HAS2BE richer of course!

    Screwing the idle jet mixture screw IN makes the mix LEANER and not richer.

    Great video!!!!
    2:43 Is that the 2.5mm drill bit widening the main jet hole?
    7:01 is the arm/lever on remaining oil pump cut down?
    11:03 image of top of modified piston. It appears to have some minor abrasions/figures on the top? Is that all?
    14:04 you say but no OGM? what is the OGM?
    The smoothing of the ports in the cylinder and piston,( what do you use as your guide for specific enlargements?) is that similar to the work that the worb 5 guys would have done to the Malossi 172 cylinder and piston to make it perform to a higher level? It would be great to see your interpretation on a Malossi 172 kit.? I could send you one to do? ;)

      yes / no / duno, need to check / OMG = "bgm" and is also sold by sip. / the t5 172 malossi does need some love yes.

    Remember, if you remove anything matching cylinder and case, is not p&p anymore.

    • @FreakMoPed8
      @FreakMoPed8  3 роки тому

      definitions are dynamic, for me pnp is NOT opening the engine, just exchanging parts from the outside, some small adjustments dont change the basic just external work.
      call it "pnp advanved" or "pnp FMP style" 🙃
      i can not mount ie a 24mm carb onto a 20mm casing hole, thats just wrong. It would be doing things without love (and thinking) thats why i of course adjust these things on hand which are easy solvable

    • @LW91
      @LW91 3 роки тому +1

      @@FreakMoPed8 as you say in the words "plug and play" , it will consider something that you take and mount on the engine. And most important of all, if you want to come back to the original form you can do. Try to do the same thing with modified case, I don't think it will work. Anyway I'm just saying this only because the word p&p is wrongly used. The work you did it's very good, keep going.

    • @FreakMoPed8
      @FreakMoPed8  3 роки тому +1

      thx! maybe wrong in your definition, not in mine. it still fits cause the engine stays closed
      no need to have the same opinion here. "pnp advanved" ;)
      no worries, original 200cc cylinder ALWAYS works, why? simply cause it only has 1 real port, the other 2 are closed fake ports = they dont care if the case is not adjusted cause they are closed anyways
      AND simply think the other way round: when pnp without case modifying is possible, why should replugging the original cylinder not work? its also just simply pnp tuning
      same with 177, even when the case is adjusted
      an original cylinder will always works
      its a tractor engine.

    • @LW91
      @LW91 3 роки тому

      So is worth If I want to put a 177 polini without matching the cylinder with the case ? I know that the power it's a lot less. 60% for the p&p without porting

    • @FreakMoPed8
      @FreakMoPed8  3 роки тому +1

      always port, even when its just pnp ;) ;)
      no polini 177 is in general not worth the money. loveless update as with the 210 with the still same old weaknesses for decades. pnp not much more power thatn a cheap DR 177. i would take a vmc 177 for pnp

    • @FreakMoPed8
      @FreakMoPed8  7 років тому +1

      hy romuald. pnp runs fine with 68/23 and further tuning (timings of cyl and inlet Timings of crank 75°) the 65/23 is a musthave! everything else is too short and throttles the engine really bad.

    • @rclavier
      @rclavier 7 років тому

      hello!! thanks for your answer.. my cases are untouched, just polini 177 21/65 si24 and bigbox sport.. i just want to imagine if 21/65 is the only good thing? you make great job!!

    • @FreakMoPed8
      @FreakMoPed8  7 років тому

      so weired, i only see ur 2nd comment on Google as an alert but not on UA-cam... and the button answer doesnt work... grrr
      so its a plug and play polini 177, then u take 22 or 23 cogwheel for the original 68 Primary. only 21 is too short, u loose Performance with that. the bbS is the totally wrong exhaust for your setup sorry to tell u that. bbS need proper inlet- and cylindertimings (75° crank and even 10° overlapping, and 120/176 cyl) to work well, otherwise it performs worse than a siproad, bbt or polinibox, These 3 are the right exhausts for your setup as u only have 45° inlet timing with the original crank, no adjusted side ports in the case, and Timings below 170° with the original 177 kit. get a polinibox! :)
