This is the same person who brought in two other rare $500 gold certificates and got $35k for them. Seems like a knowledgeable currency collector. Good too see him back.
Yep he brought more bills like 5 episodes
I really like when a guy isnt a moron and realizes Rick does this for a living and negotiates with that in mind. Good transaction for both men.
Because it's two men
I love this guy because he always brings something cool and he doesn't have an ego or bad attitude toward the experts.
Agreed 😊
Guy: I have this meth pipe used by snoop dog himself
Rick: I don’t know much about this kind of stuff let me go get someone who does
*CHUM GET OVER HERE*
Lmfao
XD
LOL
Chum: I have the same exact at home, worth 30 bucks
Rick: I’ll give you 5 bucks, I got to make money or I’ll be out of business
haha..i put a chum lee meth related comment on every clip....instant gold.
Imagine being the expert pulling the bills out and accidentally tearing them.
He’s probably not responsible for it so if that was to happen there’s nothing the seller can do
@@James-tw5vy Yeah but the expert would probably lose credibility and business because people wouldn't trust him.
Oops

Item worth about $30,000 Expert comes in with No gloves WTF 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
Rick: Laughing like a Chevrolet Corvette
I just commented this right before scrolling through comments!
Yeah. I thinking the same way. Is a piece of art dollars
@ocelot. No it's not
They’re laminated ffs lol
He needs to feel the paper to authenticate
This was probably the most reasonable negotiation I've seen in the show from both parties
1:09
“I was intrigued by the back more than the front”
*me too* ;)
$22,000 is actually a great offer considering he is taking a gamble.
he's taking a biiiiiig risk (on highly sought after, mint condition, top of the line collectibles)
@@kurtanglerookieyear Well it's a pawn shop whst do you expect? Lol The guy said they are worth upto $30,000 so he gave him more then half of what they are worth. Pawn shops only give you around 25% to 50% of the value of stuff that you pawn. He said they are worth between 22 and 30 right? Most pawn shops would gave offered him like $10,000 or if you are lucky $15,000
@@GiuseppeSimonetti Hear the "whoooosh" that's the sound of my joke that was agreeing with you flying waaay over your head.
It is indeed a good offer but these bills are a liquid market by collectable standards i.e he'll be able to turn it around quickly.
@@kurtanglerookieyear Yes. He is. these things go up and down in value. The more you pay for them, the more you have to lose.
Really amazing how a piece of paper can stay in such good condition over so many years.
Just saw this same guy selling rick two bills and the same expert coming in
Was that the $500 gold note? Haha me too
“Sitting pretty in the bank account” - being eroded by inflation
guy: i’m impressed you can even read that
rick: 🤓
Rick: Best I can do is look at them and pretend to be reading, and I'm taking all the risk here
@@redbu11 lol
"These were not backed by anything, they just printed them."
And that's different from our money today... how?
It's not - but legal tender used to be backed by the gold standard.
I’m a collector. I buy people’s collections, and when I am tired of the items, I sell them to pawn shops.
Linz Leard pretty much.
"The term Greenback came from the fact we used to make money with green backs" Rick with the knowledge
Let me call in an expert who knows more about this than me
*10 minutes later*
Benjamin Franklin walks in
Lol wtf 😂😂😂😂😂😂
You ever been to Vegas. Its like living in an old western town. These experts are probably within 5 miles. Hope that explains it. I thought the same thing at first watching the show
Love this show. So miss the Old Man. His monologue was always so good. I wonder if he wrote his own material or if writers did it.
Andy H you think he would let someone right for him?? Nah, that was all off the top.
Guess you are right Devin McNulty. The more I think about it the more I know you are right. The OLD MAN was a off the top sort of guy.
This guy is a major collector, always watching the show, new sub here, Gary
I'll give you a new shiny 20 dollar bill and a 50 shiny new bill.
Why keep those old dirty bills
They are clean old bills that are over 120 years old. Hard to find, easy to sell
Guess what they cost 30000
Nothing like new perfect clean bill
I think that was sarcasm
People really don’t understand sarcasm nowadays
IDK why I love watching old currency videos lol
This guy brings in some of these every week
Why doesn't he just bring then all in at one time?
Expert: This is a rare and valuable note. Proceeds to pull it out of protective cover with bare fingers.
You: Sends coins or currency in to get graded by experts
Experts: Uses their bare hands to grade and look at them
You: HUH? Noo they cant do that
better change the title of this show to "i will call a buddy of mine"
"Let me bring in someone I know."
Take your money and run!
0:29 When I start my car every morning
Too funny
This dude got blasted. These things skyrocketed in 2021. Even jpegs were selling for mill in 2021.
Quick sale or what, Rick definitely wanted them
That Pawn Shop should have a sign at the front door telling people to be aware that if they want big money; they will have someone check out their stuff to authenticate it otherwise get lost😂
Every time Peter shows up, I know the sellers dreams are going to be shattered.
At 3:17 the FIFTY looks like its surrounded by a gang wearing sunglasses and balaclavas.
This guy has made a number of trips to the pawn shop.
3:43 At least have the audacity and respect to shake a mans hand prior to leaving...
Liina I don’t get this?
March Firsr the expert laughed at someone asking for 50 grand for a smoking Hamilton error bill, the bill was worth around $300, the expert then said “are u smoking something”
Yeah but they shook hands so I don’t get the comment
Actually the expert wasn't going to shake the seller's hand. The seller put his hand out to shake and then the expert shook his hand but he wasn't going to on his own.
Most of the time the experts generally don't shake the seller's hand, the seller offered him the handshake last minute as well, so had the expert not seen his hand he probably wouldn't have returned the shake...……. we're only human and humans make mistakes, don't act like god made you perfect because no one is.
This currency guy on every episode talks about how any bends or tears in destroys values and he DOES NOT WEAR GLOVES! What?!?!?!?
Doc:you have only 3 years to live im sorry
Rick:nah ,1 year and 20 days, thats all i can do and im taking a risk
And I gotta pray to have it framed.
Guy: I have this rare crisp $100 bill from 2019
Rick: I don't know its value, let me call my friend
Friend: This here is the rare crisp $100 bill from 2019, I'd put its value at about $20
Rick: Eh, the best I can offer you is $3.50. Take it or leave it.
Guy: I guess I got no choice, I'll take it!
Sell: I want full value of my item.
Pawn Shop: this isn’t how a pawn shop works, I run a business and will only accept a lower negotiated price.
Internet: /rages on UA-cam/
Seller: I have $12.8 billion in gold
Rick: I'll give you $500 for it
It's called capitalism. There's no better system on earth, or probably anywhere else.
Expert handles the notes with his bare hands, finger oils and all
Just call Rebecca. Who cares if she knows nothing about old paper money. Just hearing her voice is heaven 😃
Simp
surprised Rick didn't hit him with 'it was touched with bare hands and taken out of sleeve' and then proceed to low ball him 😂
While funny, I'm sure the collector/seller would have educated Rick on why you don't handle antique currency or fragile documents with gloves.
Customer brings in a bag of potatoe chips to sell
Rick: "Let me bring in my potatoe chip expert to look at these."
There actually was once a potato chip collector on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. He pretended to eat one when she wasn't looking. I'm sure it's here if you search it up.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I winced when I saw the "expert" touching the money without gloves.
The library of congress does not recommend gloves. It eliminates tactile sensation, and may increase harm to paper.
Gloves shouldn't be used when handling old paper.
Actually, the use of the gloves depends of the situation, an expert need to feel the paper to verify the authenticity.
@@22espec Yes!
Sometimes I deal with paper currency. You can tell if it has been printed, or embossed.
Can't believe when the expert asked Rick what his questions was he didn't even wanna know if they was real
Person/ Rick : Unfunny joke
Rick : HAHAHAHAHAHA
when our currency looked great and we took pride n it
This is a fantastic program. They seem to always invite an expert , to appraise the items. Always using
If you want the full value of an item, a pawn shop is not the place to sell an item.
Hey, if you are the Seller in this video and you are ever reading these comments, you were SUPER COOL and very reasonable in both Pawn Stars videos you were in! Solid 👍
You said “Can I disagree without being disagreeable?” which is such a great way to approach difference of opinion!!!
I enjoyed your appearances, thanks!!!
The guy that brought the notes is literally Stan Lee of Pawn Stars
1:53 the lady with white pattern t-shirt is there before the expert
2:04 the same lady is still there, the 'expert' is just waiting near the camera crew...
She's standing in basically the same position, too. Even the lady in the green plaid and turquoise undershirt is in the same place before and after.
I didn't what they were talking couple years ago between US dollar VS federal reserve note. So I studied about real money now I understand the difference.
When 1800s currency looks better then a 2011 bills.
Exactly
@2:20 WHY IS THE EXPERT TOUCHING THAT MONEY WITHOUT GLOVES!!!?!🤯🤯
Finally someone who knows how to negotiate
All I know,is someone is going to have a good time over at the machine.
This guy is the one who comes with all different notes
Seller: I have two rare legal tender notes.
Rick: I can give you one chicken tender & some of Chums bellybutton lint.
Seller: Deal
lol
Rick doesn’t bring in an expert. He brings in a buddy.
This dude comes in and just starts pulling out rare 130 year old paper with no gloves on
He need to authenticate it since the notes is not graded yet, how else u gonna if the notes is real or not by just looking
The header is incorrect in itself. There used to be a bunch of classifications of paper money. All the way up to 1966 there were red seal bills that were Treasury Notes instead of Fed Resv green seals. That was the end, all bills became FR Notes then. What dude has there is a Legal Tender note and a Treasury Note (or Coin Note). Treasury Notes were redeemable in coin as stated on the bill. By 1890, you could exchange anything for coin if the bank was willing to dole out its metal, but Treasury Notes were at your demand.
man that was stressful when the money expert almost missed the handshake
😆😂😂🤣
That old money sure is cool looking. And worth a pretty penny too. Was fun to watch. Great video
The guy is really a smart seller
Rick :, these are not backed by anything, they just printed them "
Me : so is every f money in the world.
Usually money is backed by the us treasury
@@BigWes95 Our money is no longer backed by gold, as of 1971 by Richard Nixon's directive.
@@brushcreek42 if you could actually read it would be helpful. Didnt mention gold anywhere did I?
@@BigWes95 What do you believe it's backed by? It was backed by gold until 1971.
@@brushcreek42 the us treasury backs it. The gold standard was abolished almost 100 years ago globally
I swear I have seen that seller before
The presidential club mix is banging
The Value dropped once the Expert touched it
you really don't know nothing about money, don't you?
He doesnt. He thinks its a packaged GI Joe and that if you remove it from its case it loses value.
He pulled them out without asking
The expert was barebacking those greenbacks!
Don't forget,we got to do paperwork 😏
it's interesting to see the same profile portrait of Ben Franklin on that large $50 bill, the same one used on the new $100 bills.
Rick was only partially correct on "they weren't backed by anything". The Treasury Note there w/ Marshall says "IN COIN". They were also called "Coin Notes" because of that fact. That series was created by an act of govt up to a certain number of dollars and the whole printing was fully backed by large silver purchases the govt made (Comstock Lode produced tons of silver years before) and you could redeem them in gold or silver, whatever they wanted to give you. By that time, paper money was legit and why bother getting coins?
Love these guys! I get a lot of inspiration for my channel from them 🙏
I like the way these notes look but let me call my friend Steve Mnuchin to check them out
As a collector of currency this is holy grail territory.
I was waiting for the expert to say..”there seems to be some damage on the corner, as if the note had been handled by someone without gloves...
Those notes were gorgeous. Made my head spin.
If I had the money I'll buy them in a snap!
I love how all the experts say the same thing… Rick what are your concerns. Like Ummm hello??? What’s the item worth. Duh!!!
So the guy just takes it out the sleeve without gloves and doesnt even ask the guy. Lol
Worst negotiator lol
Hanna Montemayor ❤️
Chum found the $20 and went out and bought 2 Big Macs with fries....
White gloves $10.00 Tongs $3.00 Potential damage to $22,000 paper money collectable $2-5000.00. This "expert" didn't even ask the seller permission to remove the paper money collectable from the protective slip case with his possibly greasy hands.
Everyone outraged at the expert for not wearing gloves doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Clean and dry hands are the safest way to handle old paper. I can guarantee you he washed and dried his hands immediately prior to handling the notes. He does this for a living.
-puts 1800s currency in bank account
-bank gives back modern notes
I'm Rick Harrison and this is my coin shop
Anybody see the new Goldbacks? Notes made of real gold legal for use in 4 states. I think they look really cool.
Beautiful notes
i thought it would be fake since he go them off the internet
Jeff always comes with rare money bro
Rick treats the people like they are gamblers, he takes the fact they have a mental condition and rides over them. Well done rick I am sure you will win an award
Expert putting greasy fingers on a note...he’s no expert
Expert: These bills are not in great condition. They have my fingerprint oils all over them.
Rick offers $1.50 an a expired coupon worth fifty cents at Chumly's candy store.
Let me just paw over these without gloves.
If you know paper currancy at all you know those were nice pieces, he could have gotten way more if he had them graded and put them on the auction block…
This episode as it has no music. Rare find!
Amazing educational video, thumbs up.
Stern offer, stern but fair
Good deal that to be fair, when he said 17,000 Idve said 20,000
I love this pown shop....
