They did raid, they were excellent and far ranging sailors and traders, but they mostly were looking for good farm land. This is why they conquered a huge amount of land in England ( the Danelaw), France, Ireland, and other parts of Europe.
I agree with you I’m not sure if you think I’m on the wrong idea, I studied it briefly and I don’t get how rick is like confused as to who they were.... as the Scandinavian lands were not as fertile as the English and French soil (as food was a big issue)

No kidding. Certain American pennies made from copper that are less than 100 years old go for 10-20x that price. Unbelievable.
@@lukeknighton4918 and certain american pennies 200+ years old are nearly worthless. Check ebay for roman coins that are over 1500 years old for under $20. Age doesn't always mean its worth many thousands

Here Rick got it all wrong. He says vikings were not interested in land. The fact is that the vikings sailed out into the world looking for new land to settle, because in Norway there was not room for everybody to run a farm at that time. And it still isn't.
The Vikings that settled in the country that is now England were predominantly Danes.
