I was fortunate to see her at the peak of her fame in ‘78. She has an amazing voice. Life can be cruel and the fact that Parkinson’s has robbed her ability to sing breaks everyone’s heart.

Linda Ronstadt does not have Parkinson's. She has a rare brain disorder called progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), which is similar to Parkinson's disease.
I saw a reaction from an opera singer who only knew Linda from her performance in that operetta. She was astonished that an opera singer could so easily sing another style. So commenters had to chime in and explain it was the other way around. Of course others recommended her Spanish album. I can't think of any other singer with Linda's versatility. Even if she had stayed in one genre she would be highly rated. But she was so good at so much. Amazing.

Everything by Linda is fantastic!! Thank you!!!! ❤❤❤. J i have to agree Wild Horses is one of my very favorite Stones songs too!!!! Definitely two for two today, Amber!!! ❤❤❤
Amber is absolutely spot on. Her range, the genres she covers. Stunning. Linda is for me the GOAT. I've loved her albums for only about 30 years, so I was late to the game so to speak. I'm 65 now and had other favourite female artists up to the 90's. I'm starting to swing around recently to Barbra Streisand for THE most magical, incredible voice; but she sang show stoppingly great songs with a great melody. Yes that's enough but she didn't have a touring band afaik. Linda eventually got me in to her friend Emmylou Harris too. She has been an effortlessly incredible singer since the 60's. I love two of her albums from 98 and 2011. Plus Western Walls : The Tuscon Sessions album with Linda. Linda hasn't been able to sing for 15 years or so but she had a fairly OK life until recently, and I worry about her tremendously now.
I agree but as a couple other commenters have mentions so far they have completely ignored the three albums of Great American Songbook classics. And I don’t believe they’ve tested the operatic performance from Pirates of Penzance. If you haven’t listened to those you’re not fully up on the talents of Linda Ronstatd

Bonnie is my favorite 70s female artist. I liked Linda until I saw her live. She was rude, wouldn’t engage with the audience, seemed like she was insulted to be in our small Southern town, and refused an encore. Turned me off of her forever.
Linda has done country, rock, pop, soul, new wave, Mariachi music, the Great American Songbook, Gilbert & Sullivan, and SO much more, and has been successful at all of it. Even though she can't sing anymore, she can proudly look back on her career and say she definitely was able to do it all. Her vocal prowess, not to mention her charisma and downright sexiness was all she needed to sell ANY kind of song.
Let' see: rock, country, bluegrass, pop, r&b, traditional Mexican mariachi, and , theatrical stagecraft as in Pirates of Penzance. She did them all to perfection. There have been many absolutely great female singers, but they were all great in their single lane music genres. Linda was the most versatile of any major female singer in history. She was like the General Contractor of female singers who could do anything and everything in her trade.
The Eagles were her band at this time. And Waddy Wachtal was her sessions guitarist, who is Stevie Nicks's Lead guitarist since the 80s! So a small world becomes even smaller when you hear about that!
I'm over 70yo & IMO Linda was truly one of a kind in her ability to sing ANYTHING...any genre (as you said). Even truly great singers...think Barbra Streisand or as J said, Celine. Both tried legit rock songs & they just couldn't pull it off. Linda is truly one of one.

Glad you're back at it! You guys are my favorite reaction channel.
She's soooo good! 🎶
Linda Is number one!! The Stones specially Jagger had to love it that she sang their son cause the royalties kept tumbling rolling in. Thanks, y'all were missed
Bonnie Raitt is like this anything she sings is golden
Bonnie is my favorite 70s female artist. I liked Linda until I saw her live. She was rude, wouldn’t engage with the audience, seemed like she was insulted to be in our small Southern town, and refused an encore. Turned me off of her forever.
💯
Mick told her she should do this
Linda has done country, rock, pop, soul, new wave, Mariachi music, the Great American Songbook, Gilbert & Sullivan, and SO much more, and has been successful at all of it. Even though she can't sing anymore, she can proudly look back on her career and say she definitely was able to do it all. Her vocal prowess, not to mention her charisma and downright sexiness was all she needed to sell ANY kind of song.
And opera -- Puccini's La Boheme.
Everybody had the album Simple Dreams back in the seventees. She could sing every genre
Well Rob according to Keith Richards "Linda Ronstadt OWNS Tumbling Dice and I wrote it."
There is no one better than Linda!!!❤
Let' see: rock, country, bluegrass, pop, r&b, traditional Mexican mariachi, and , theatrical stagecraft as in Pirates of Penzance. She did them all to perfection. There have been many absolutely great female singers, but they were all great in their single lane music genres. Linda was the most versatile of any major female singer in history. She was like the General Contractor of female singers who could do anything and everything in her trade.
Seeing her live in about 1974 in about the 6th row changed my life…never heard anything like it.
The Eagles were her band at this time. And Waddy Wachtal was her sessions guitarist, who is Stevie Nicks's Lead guitarist since the 80s! So a small world becomes even smaller when you hear about that!
The Eagles were NOT her band at this time. That was much earlier. IMHO, the band she had on this song was much better than the Eagles.
@@knuckledragger9322 thanks for the info, I just assumed honestly cause I thought I saw Don Henley on the live video of this song playing drums
love her band they rock on this song
She sings a song called , "Adios" , so pretty
I'm over 70yo & IMO Linda was truly one of a kind in her ability to sing ANYTHING...any genre (as you said). Even truly great singers...think Barbra Streisand or as J said, Celine. Both tried legit rock songs & they just couldn't pull it off. Linda is truly one of one.
Mick jagger personally taught her this song she said in an interview .
Love to hear her anytime!
Great Rolling Stones Cover by Linda. You need to do another Rolling Stones Cover Ruby Tuesday by Melanie and Wild Horses by Susan Boyle.
She is definitely one of the very best singers ever!
if I remember correctly, this was the first song I ever heard of her and I bought the lp. I was like 14 at the time and hearing her voice and seeing how beautiful she was, I fell in love with her. My first big crush. To this day, I would kiss the ground she walked on. Love this lady. Too bad you did not do the live version with video. She was Americas sweetheart in the 70:s
Listen to her song SEND IN THE DOLPHINS. GORGEOUS SONG
Being able to out sing Mick Jagger on his own son song: AWESOME!
There are videos of Linda joining The Rolling Stones on stage to sing this with Mick!
Gotta point out the band! Talent, spontaneity. Amazing bass and piano.
I live in Tucson, Linda's hometown. Recently, the city renamed the
big music hall after her.
A couple weeks ago, I mentioned to a young server at a restaurant
that her face strongly resembled a young Linda Ronstadt,
The child had no idea who I was talking about.😩
