Heard Mariachi in Mexico many years ago. Fabulous instrumentals and the vocals are powerful. Loved Linda Ronstadt for many years. Her work with Nelson Riddle band and 40's music is another level of her talent.
She’s done a few stunning duets with Aaron Neville you should listen to. Linda also sings a beautiful song with Paul Simon called ‘Under African Skies’. Her voice is so gorgeous and pairs well with so many artists.

Her earliest hit was with a rock band The Stone Poneys called "A Different Drum" She also sang classic songs from the Sinatra, Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald era. My favorite is her cover of Roy Orbison's "Blue Bayou."
I can't recommend "Different Drum" enough! You're going to want to do the studio version, because the only live version on UA-cam isn't nearly as good. Thanks!!
The sound you heard in her voice is heard in almost all mariachi singers it's called the crying tone. Lola Beltran "Paloma Negra", Lucha Villa "Te Solte La Rienda", Yolanda Del Rio "Con Golpes De Pecho" & Vicente Fernandez "Que Te Vaya Bonito" are some good ones.
The amazing Ronstadt is Mexican-American....almost as much as I am. ALL of my grandparents are from Mexico, and she grew up in Arizona lust like my mom. This album was a MONSTER and yes this is real Mexican culture. My Tio Mike from Chihuahua Monterey de Mexico was blown away by this. A tribute to the many genres that Linda ventured into over her long career. Thank you guys for reacting.
She is Latina and identifies as Mexican-American. She grew up in a Mexican environment, in a Mexican family, with Mexican music, particularly Mariachi music. Mariachi music was part of her childhood. She had to spend several months training her voice to sing in the Mariachi style which is very powerful and quite demanding. It turns out she has a perfect voice for singing Mariachi.
This is overstating it a bit; she has some Mexican heritage on her dad's side of the family, dating back to the 19th century (1800s), when her German great-grandfather emmigrated to the Southwest states, which were then still part of Mexico. Her mom was from Michigan. But her love of the music came from listening to the cross-border radio, growing up.
@@spursfan1775 People have 4 grandparents, and 8 great-grandparents, right? You're saying that one out of eight great-grandparents being Mexican makes her 'as Mexican as it gets'? Btw, I'm not arguing against her having some Mexican heritage (her half-Mexican grandfather was named Federico José María Ronstadt), and obviously she has great personal affection for that great nation, and for its culture & music. She grew up in Tucson, listening to all sorts of radio including plenty of Mexican. All I said was that calling her 'Latina' from a 'Mexican family' is overstating it a bit. Of course, she's free to identify however she wants to. Out of interest: I live in an apartment in Canada that happens to house a lot of Mexican immigrants - and every one of them has _8_ Mexican great-grandparents! :^)
Linda Rondstadt developed a love for Mexican music because she comes from a musical family and grew up singing Mexican folk songs. In fact, her Aunt was a popular Spanish singer who in 1946 published a book of Mexican folk songs called "Canciones de mi Padre." Linda R. eventually used the same title for her own Spanish album.
She was also influenced by the standards her mother listened to. But it’s how she interprets the feel of the music and lyric big soft hard quiet she wraps you up. She also chose great songs and was surrounded by the best musicians. From Gershwin to Neil Young she gave them all a careful loving treatment.
I lived in Mexico for 2 years and you learn to appreciate this music so much. It blasts from speakers at the bank, the grocery store, having lunch outside. When I moved back to the states I really missed it. She is phenomenal!!
Oh gosh Linda could sing any dang thing she wanted to. Oh by the way, she also did Pirates of Penzance. She literally did pop, rock, country, Hispanic, broadway. Her story is very interesting - there is a CNN piece titled The Sound of My Voice. It tells the whole story and is well worth the watch.
Linda’s father was Mexican. She grew up hearing songs in Spanish. That album is call “Canciones de mi Padre” (My father’s songs). She once said that she grew up thinking that singing in Spanish and speaking in English was what everyone did.
Her record company didn't want her to do this, and being Linda, she held true to form and did it anyway! It was a real hit-too bad record company jerks! She's always gone her own way. Love her!
I think by this time they trusted her instincts. Her 1983 collaboration with Nelson Riddle "What's New" was a much harder sell to her management and label. It was a complete 180 from her previous work. It went triple platinum, and the next two with Riddle went platinum. She then collaborated with Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton on the country album "Trio" which also went platinum. She was in a pretty strong position to pitch an album of traditional Mariachi music. Her instincts were right again, "Canciones de Mi Padre" went double platinum.
Latin Queen! My daughter's folklorico (a traditional Mexican form of dance) group often perform to this song. On a side note, the mariachi groups she's playing with, Mariachi Vargas, is world famous. My daughter's dance group will be performing with Mariachi Vargas end of April!
She has a terrible brain disease called PSP, not Parkinson’s ( rediagnosed) I feel so sorry for her. You may or may not want to look it up. My Mom had it and died 3 yrs after diagnosis. Just awful what life can become for some unlucky people.
@@tcanfield I'll have to look that up, I wasn't aware the diagnosis had changed, certainly bad either way. Sorry about you mother, my grandfather had parkinson's, he made it allot of years beyond the original diagnosis, but when he started going downhill he went fast.
Can’t thank you enough for doing Linda’s Spanish songs. She is so multi talented and her power and passion suits Hispanic music so well. Linda is such a special artist. Her fluent Spanish translates into a singing style that is breathtaking in the ease she handles it. Just one of the true greats
I was so blessed to be sitting in the front row when she opened her Canciones de mi Padre tour in San Antonio, Texas. Several minutes into the show, the sound system went out and she continued to sing. I would swear to you that she could have continued singing without a sound system and no one would have been the wiser! This is the music of my people and I get chills every time I hear her sing these songs. Beautiful.
Linda Ronstadt is a musical force of nature. You’ve only peeled back another layer here, what she has done for music in her lifetime, not just for music in general but different genres, opening doors for women in rock ‘n’ roll that were not open before her, she was Instrumental in the formation of the Eagles, her life story is very interesting. I hope that you look into her life as much as you do her music.
Linda Ronstadt's interpretations of traditional Mexican mariachi songs are heartbreakingly beautiful! Her two albums named Canciones de mi Padre and Mas Canciones respectively are simply astounding, not only in terms of the musical performance of all the artists involved, but also in terms of the passion and commitment brought to the songs by Ronstadt, the song selection itself, the sparkling arrangements and the overall masterful production of the records. This is absolutely the best, most genuine music Ronstadt ever made, and you can hear the love and respect she has for these songs in her voice. And as you can gather from this performance of La Charreada, Linda Ronstadt really lets loose and puts it all out there. There's no holding back! My personal favourite Ronstadt interpretations of these traditional masterpieces are Rogaciano el Huapanguero, Y Andale, La Calandria, Tata Dios, El Crucifijo de Piedra and El Gustito. Check them out!
You really need to listen to “Blue Bayou” or “Desperado” she also had many duets “Don’t Know Much” with Aaron Neville and “I Will Never Marry” with Dolly Parton.. “Somewhere Out There” with James Ingram or “Sisters” with Bette Midler and “Moonlight in Vermont” with Frank Sinatra
“When Will I Be Loved?” “Blue Bayou “ “Desperado “ “Silver Threads and Golden Needles “ “Tumbling Dice” and on and on. Linda was a legendary singer. Her first band went on to become the Eagles. She had albums in every genre’ and played the female lead, singing soprano in The Pirates of Penzance on Broadway. I think if you dig into her music, she might even give Janice a run for her money.
@@mariannh1039 I've been bugging them in the Comment Section for months about those albums and also her mariachi music.. Good to see they got to one of her great mariachi songs! Hopefully they'll get to a song or two from the Nelson Riddle arranged albums too!
So she’d been rocking along, making records, selling out arenas, collab-ing with other artists (including being in a trio with Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton) and them BAM! in 1987 a mariachi album that went 2x platinum. This woman, ISTG… 😍
I LOVE that you listened to this song by Linda Ronstadt! And I enjoyed your reaction and appreciation for her craft on this song. I grew up listening to her and idoloizing her, but never knew of her Latin background until she released this album, Canciones de mi Padre. OH My Gosh!!! My admiration for her grew stronger. Thank you for doing this reaction video!
I can't keep my mouth closed. I've heard this song a million x, and I never knew this was linda rodstandt who is my mexican mothers favorite artists!. I did not know she did this song!. I'm freaking out.
Thank you so much for reacting to her Mexican side. She released two albums Canciones de Padre to celebrate the music her father sang and she grew up listening to. Thank you again for showing your followers to mariachi music and the beauty of the Mexican culture
I grew up listening to Linda Ronstadt through my mom. All her English music and Spanish music. She’s from my hometown Tucson Arizona. That woman is in a class all her own. Play her mariachi music that’s a definite wormhole to go down she also has another side of her where it’s like forties to 50s music and it’s gorgeous, definitely worth a listen! Much love! ❤️
I'm Puerto Rican but I love mariachi music. The great thing about speaking and understanding Spanish is that we can enjoy every style of music from other Spanish speaking countries. Such as Salsa, merengue, Ranchera, bachata, cumbia.. etc.
@@Xcris_crosX Can't ever go wrong with Celia. We just have too many stars to pick from. Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon (Fania all stars) Ruben Blades, Eddie Santiago, Marc Anthony, LA India, Juan Luis Guerra, and on and on
Her voice is so amazing! Growing up in the 70’s she was one of my favorite female vocalist and still is! Your no Good, hurts so bad, Blue Bayou, the list goes on and on!!
She's Latina, but like many of us, Spanish is not her first language. She did this partially to honor the memory of her father. Her voice can hit American music beautifully, but you can only see the full range of it when she sings "Mexican opera."
She would say that she's Mex-american and that it .By her own words don't call me spanish , latin , Hispanic , and even chicano or something else than Mexican american.😒
There is a lot of Linda before the Mariachi years. She sings Pop, Rock, Country, R&B, as well as Marichi music. She been around since the early 70's. She has also done Torch songs or American Songbook . Songs from the 1930-1940.
She does a song in this same concert called "Volver, Volver" and even if you don't speak Spanish she will break your heart with it. I'd never paid more than casual attention to mariachi even though I live in LA and visit mariachi plaza every month, but seeing her sing these songs changed my mind and I even went to Mariachi Festival at the Hollywood Bowl last month. More fun than anyone deserves to have.
OMG! This hit me right in my Mexican-American soul! Since I’ve watched this reaction, I’ve listened to the song and watched other reaction. This literally brings tears to my eyes. It’s so beautiful. I don’t listen to tejano or mariachi at all, but I know great music when I hear it. Thank you for introducing me to this!
I get chills when I hear her sing with Mariachi. I had the good fortune of seeing her in concert with her Canciones de mi Padre tour back in the late 80's!
One more thing -- yes her family is of Mexican descent and she grew up singing with her father, hence the name of this album is Songs of My Father (Canciones de Mi Padre)
@@leospiritwalker6999 Great movie Leo; everyone should see it to truly appreciate her range. Plus we get to see her in that Boy Scout uniform, a marvelous image from my formative years!
I am so glad that you kids are learning about Linda. I saw this show on opening night in NYC in the 80s. The crowd went wild. I LOVE LINDA! She is a goddess.
Linda Ronstadt is a beautiful, wonderful singer. The movie “Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice” is an incredibly perfect tribute documentary of her career. She came from a musical family and made such an impact on the music scene worldwide.
Thank you for this one! Love me some Linda! She recorded in many different genres of music; check out her big band recordings with the Nelson Riddle orchestra. She can be a crooner too!
The moments you are referring to in her voice are prevalent in mariachi music. She is awesome in both Spanish and English. I enjoy her duets also. She did one with Aaron Neville and one with James Ingram. The one with James is "Somewhere Out There." "Don't Know Much" is with Aaron Neville, who is an artist you have never touched on and is one of the most unique and awesome I have ever met.
Linda Ronstadt is of Hispanic Descent. She has such a powerful voice and she can rock with best, as well as sing in her own language. She is wonderful. She can’t sing anymore because she has Parkinson’s disease. She gave us a library of greatness. Thank You, Linda for the music.
“Canciones de mi padre” or Songs of my Father. Linda’s grandfather immigrated to Mexico from Germany and married a Mexican woman. Her family moved to Tucson so music like this would be common for her father to have been raised listening. If you like the Eagles, you can thank Linda for introducing Joe & Glenn and suggesting they work together🤓
You have travelled a span of 13 to 14 years in her career from You're No Good to this song. In that time, Linda had went from country/rock, to pop/rock to performing on stage in Gilbert and Sullivans Operetta The Pirates of Penzance, to the great American Song Book, to a Country Standards album (with Dolly Parton/Emmy Lou Harris), to traditional Mexican music. Her voice and projection had improved, Linda herself has said her best singing was in the 90s. Her musical journey is extensive and rich, like her voice. I was lucky enough to see her only once, and this is what I had the good fortune to see, and for FREE, at the Ontario Place Forum in Toronto as part of their summer series (of free concerts).
La Cigarra is my favorite song in that album. I fell in love with her voice when I was a kid, then seen her face in an album cover and that became my type.
I've been lucky enough to have seen her perform in each of the phases in her career. Pop/Rock (You're No Good, Blue Bayou), old-fashioned standards (What's New?, I've Got A Crush On You), and Mariachi (at the Pantages Theater in H'wood). Such a shame that she can no longer sing because of her illness. BEAUTIFUL voice!
A favorite daughter of my hometown Tucson, she championed this style of music. Mariachi (mare-ee-ah-chee) was the word to describe the type of music, as well as the musician. A player in that band is called a Mariachi, and the style of music is called Mariachi. There are public buildings all over Tucson named for Linda's family.
So you're doing my favorite musical artist of all time, male or female, and this time you're doing some of her traditional Mexican music which is absolutely stunning. She has done so many different genres of music including Folk, Country, Rock, American Standards with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra and Musical Theater with 'Pirates of Penzance' on Broadway as well as doing the1983 movie of the same name where she played the part of Mabel. Her big song from Broadway was "Poor Wandering One" and one of her big songs from the American Standards collection is "What's New?". She was also part of a trio called...Trio, with Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris doing old country music standards. Dolly Partin said of Linda "She's the only person I know that can sing anything and do it well". I agree with Dolly! She did a duet with Aaron Neville, "I Don't Know Much" and another duet with James Ingram with the song, "Somewhere Out There" from the animated movie 'An American Tail'. Both duets are absolutely stunning. With the exception of pure Opera there isn't much this lady didn't do vocally. I have 20 record albums by her and wish I had the rest of them. She is one of those once in a lifetime voices that has unfortunately been silenced by disease. I listened, the other day, to her first hit song after she went out as a solo artist, "Long, Long Time" from 1970, and Wow, even then she had a powerful, beautiful voice and she was amazing at telling a story in song. Anything you listen to by Linda if it was recorded well is going to be worth the time to listen to it.
Linda could sing any style at an incredibly high level. Mariachi, Rock n roll, country, musical theater, opera, new wave, standard, jazz, swing etc. While Anne Wilson of Heart is absolutely my personal favorite, I’m objective enough to acknowledge that Linda Rondstadt IS the G.O.A.T.
I was fortunate to attend one her shows in Las Vegas in ‘77. Hearing her sing Blue Bayou live. This video was outstanding. This was an amazing video. She is the best singer I’ve ever see and heard. I have seen Celene and Janis Joplin ,and Linda tops them both.
Pretty sure this was the biggest selling Latin album in history--amazing, amazing Linda R. So much musical talent in one person and fiercely intelligent.
You should watch the UA-cam video biography about Linda: "The Sound of My Voice", which tells her amazing story. Also, check out some of the 'torch songs' she put out with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra (three albums). Men were called 'crooners'; women were 'torch singers'.
I remember reading an interview where she said this was the only music she was comfortable singing live. Everything else, the rock, the country, the opera, all of it made her nervous to perform, but this was the music she grew up singing.
Linda’s voice is amazing! And yes she has Mexican ancestry, even though she wasn’t fully bilingual her Spanish singing was still very very good. Please do “Different Drum” from when she was with The Stone Poneys (Amber you’ll love it)
This was her true love of music. She is from Tucson, Arizona and grew with this heritage. I was lucky enough to see her live with the Mariachis, and she was fabulous!
This is the second 'take' on the Charreada clip by Linda Rondstadt that I come across and hosted by young African Americans. It gives me enourmous pleasure witnessing your reaction, for it confirms that if you understand what needs to be understood, you don't need what you don't understand. By the way if I may try an attempt, the beat is 6/8, grounded down by lead loaded acoustic guitars of the same family that the famous Leadbelly used. The Mariachi group is top of the top. I'm Puertorican of the same age as Linda. Growing up in Puerto Rico my whole life; Mexican music and culture were all over the place, for that was the time of the mellowing down of the Mexican Revolution when they were revelling in their culture and their artists had a presence all over. The "Charreada" comes from a celebration by charros, meaning cowboys and farm hands of all kinds. The song sings the glory of the tradition that includes in the lyrics, bull riding. Sounds familiar? It mentions the words of a cowboy that wants to ride a bull so his love can watch him. It is a thing of heavy partying, eating and drinking. By the way Linda's role is that of the artistic representation of the traditional Hispanic young lady, ultra well bred and with lots of class of all kinds, but in this case wearing an adapted luxury charro costume, a male costume. The style of singing is classic of the culture, very demanding and of the kind that if you don't meet the grade don't even show up. The strenght of the voice and style to me illustrates something very interesting about the response of women culture from very tough macho environments where they produce this idealized standard that sends the clear message of "tough macho papi, Can you deal with this?" it is absolutely overwhelming and if the guys cannot produce; You better don't even show up. To me it also shows the common ground of country music from everywhere in the sense of feelings coming out like from the earth itself. This across the border, for you in the States, expression of music, portrays very similar perspectives and feelings as American Country music and themes, as also the blues and rythm and blues. I don't think it is a coincidence that first instances of absortion of Black Music by the white establishment music came from people from Country Music environments, the very tight plucked strings and violin grounding of the beat, for example. Once more recieve my appreciation.
Abba made me tear up a bit, this is just flat out making me cry by making me think of my late Father. Te Amo Papa! En Paz Descanses! Thank you! Y Viva Mexico!
You guys that love guitar and horns is no surprise that you love this. That little flip in her voice is classic of Mexican and Mariachi singers. As a Spanish speaking person (my first language is Spanish), her pronunciation is perfect.
"There are two kinds of men in this world. Those with a crush on Linda Ronstadt and those who never heard of her." - Willie Nelson.

@@pbasswil ...how is calling her latina...over stating it...she is half mexican...
You can see The Sound of My Voice on UA-cam.
Sorry, didn't mean to dislike it. I hit the wrong one
The Sound of My Voice is one of the best music documentaries I've seen.
@@gregwatson3300 Me too, I've re-watched it several times. And because she narrates it herself it's extra special to me.
I saw her in Pirates, in Seattle in the 80's! Wonderfully good.
Linda’s father was Mexican. She grew up hearing songs in Spanish. That album is call “Canciones de mi Padre” (My father’s songs). She once said that she grew up thinking that singing in Spanish and speaking in English was what everyone did.
Lucky got so
See her on Broadway nyc doing this
father was German descent, grandfather was a German who married a Mexican citizen. She grew up with Latin American roots and influence
Mariachi Vargas!! Que viva Mexico!
She's a wonderful artist and maybe one of the most diverse performers ever. It's a shame that Parkinson's has stolen her voice.
She has a terrible brain disease called PSP, not Parkinson’s ( rediagnosed) I feel so sorry for her. You may or may not want to look it up. My Mom had it and died 3 yrs after diagnosis. Just awful what life can become for some unlucky people.
Her voice is part of the soundtrack of my teen years. 😭
@@tcanfield I'll have to look that up, I wasn't aware the diagnosis had changed, certainly bad either way. Sorry about you mother, my grandfather had parkinson's, he made it allot of years beyond the original diagnosis, but when he started going downhill he went fast.
She's German and Mexican.
Obvious to most that Ronstadt is not a Mexican name.
This is what you guys do best -- real, positve reactions to other cultures, genres, and eras. Never lose that. It's your strength.
Great name!
Don’t miss her album of Latin love songs: Frenesi
You really need to listen to “Blue Bayou” or “Desperado” she also had many duets “Don’t Know Much” with Aaron Neville and “I Will Never Marry” with Dolly Parton.. “Somewhere Out There” with James Ingram or “Sisters” with Bette Midler and “Moonlight in Vermont” with Frank Sinatra
The Trio (Linda, Dolly Parton, and EmmyLou Harris) do a great cover of "After the Gold Rush". I didn't know it was a cover for the longest time.
Linda Ronstadt singing Mariachi music is the read deal, y'all. 100% Love. Love, Love her!
You aren't kidding my man!
I heart Linda. Que bonita
Having lived in south Texas all my life, I truly have always been in love with Mariachi music!
She did a marvelous album of jazz standards too with the Nelson Riddle orchestra.
Actually, she did THREE albums with Riddle -- What's New, Lush Life and For Sentimental Reasons.
You would love the old standards she did .
@@mariannh1039 I've been bugging them in the Comment Section for months about those albums and also her mariachi music.. Good to see they got to one of her great mariachi songs! Hopefully they'll get to a song or two from the Nelson Riddle arranged albums too!
@@tombeyerlein3813 Yes, I thought as much, too, but I wasn't sure; so I erred on the side of caution and only assumed one.
Lush Life!
Linda has one of the best voices of our time. My mom started our thanksgiving morning to this song and still does. Love her
So she’d been rocking along, making records, selling out arenas, collab-ing with other artists (including being in a trio with Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton) and them BAM! in 1987 a mariachi album that went 2x platinum. This woman, ISTG… 😍
YES -- you must listen to the Trio! "I Never Will Marry" is beautiful!
@@ediefolta9494 They’re AMAZING! ❤️
You skipped over the three albums she did with Nelson Riddle.
@@cazgerald9471 👏👏👏🙂
She could sing anything anything from soft ballads to rock to opera. Maybe the most gifted singer I ever heard. Just beautiful.
Linda's range is incredible. She was also the lead female star in a very successful Broadway production of "The Pirates of Penzance" with Kevin Kline.
I was going to mention this. Her performance was amazing.
And Rex Smith
She also did La Bohème at the public theater less successful but her voice was amazing Gary Morris was her leading men
I LOVE that you listened to this song by Linda Ronstadt!
Wait until you hear Linda singing operetta! And American Standards! She did not let the record label stop her from breaking out of genre.
Yes! "Poor Wand'ring One" from the Operetta movie Pirates of Penzance.
I can't keep my mouth closed. I've heard this song a million x, and I never knew this was linda rodstandt who is my mexican mothers favorite artists!. I did not know she did this song!. I'm freaking out.
Ahh freak out!
Exquisite voice. She could virtually sing ANY style. All really really well. Very deep library.
LA CIGARRA is the mindblower at this concert. Few people can do that song justice and Linda blasts it long and high.
Such as Salsa, merengue, Ranchera, bachata, cumbia.. etc.
I requested they react to legendary Celia Cruz (RIP). Being an Internationally known black Cuban-American Spanish singer may interest them
@@Xcris_crosX
Can't ever go wrong with Celia. We just have too many stars to pick from. Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon (Fania all stars) Ruben Blades, Eddie Santiago, Marc Anthony, LA India, Juan Luis Guerra, and on and on
I'm an old, white bumpkin and I love this music.
That’s power, sentiment and a beautiful voice coming out of her lungs…
I am astonished, hard to describe what I feel listening to her.
Linda is one of my top favorite vocal artists. I had never heard this. What pure joyous fun, thank you!
Por un amor!
@@smspirate Oh god, yes. That's so damn beautiful.
I absolutely love your reaction to Linda Ronstadt singing in Spanish! I think I’ve watched this more than 5 times!
She has such range from the low end for a male tenor, almost baritone, to her beautiful soprano and she never loses any strength
Had no idea this was in Linda Ronstadt's repertoire!!! This is awesome!!! 🥰
This song is special because she sang that song with her heart!!!
You owe it to yourself to listen to Linda's ENTIRE discography. It's more rich and varied than any other artist in history, IMO.
I get chills when I hear her sing with Mariachi. I had the good fortune of seeing her in concert with her Canciones de mi Padre tour back in the late 80's!
To go another direction with her, “I’ve got a crush on you”with Nelson Riddle.
Linda is a gift. She can do anything.
Her voice is beautiful. So sad about her health issues that preclude her from performing. But her legacy is incredible.
The things this woman's voice does to my brain!! So powerful!!
She was such a perfectionist and never believed she was all that good. Yet, everyone that heard her, wanted to be able to sing like her.
Aquí se siente a México 🎶👏👏🎶 Buenaaaa... Buenaaaa 🎶👏🇨🇱
One more thing -- yes her family is of Mexican descent and she grew up singing with her father, hence the name of this album is Songs of My Father (Canciones de Mi Padre)
Hi guys do yourselves a solid watch the documentary Linda Ronstadt The Sound of My Voice
@@leospiritwalker6999 Great movie Leo; everyone should see it to truly appreciate her range. Plus we get to see her in that Boy Scout uniform, a marvelous image from my formative years!

Someone made a comment.Shes mostly European. The whites have to say something racist to try to dis credit people. They're so weak and insecure
I am so glad that you kids are learning about Linda. I saw this show on opening night in NYC in the 80s. The crowd went wild. I LOVE LINDA! She is a goddess.
Yes! Mexican heritage and she has done Pirates of Penzance, so yes beautifully, rich and powerful voice. Ty. ❤❤❤
You’ll never hear a bad song from her. That voice is incredible. ❤️
Linda Ronstadt is of Hispanic Descent. She has such a powerful voice and she can rock with best, as well as sing in her own language. She is wonderful. She can’t sing anymore because she has Parkinson’s disease. She gave us a library of greatness. Thank You, Linda for the music.
She actually gave the Don Henley of the Eagles (drummer vocals), and other members their start. They used to be her band🙂
Her grandfather is what gives her that German surname "Ronstadt".
@@ZakhadWOW Yup!
Don and Glenn. Joe came in years later.
She was a corner stone for women in rock she started in the 60's she paved the way for bands like heart
She also gave blessing to her band member Don and Glen to start the Eagles!!!
'La Cigarra' [The cicada] is also an ass-kicker tune from this album.
Her voice is even fiercer on La Cigarra.
I saw her live in concert for this album. So Powerful.
La Cigarra is my favorite song in that album. I fell in love with her voice when I was a kid, then seen her face in an album cover and that became my type.
Yes, Linda is of Mexican heritage. Viva Mexico!
You have to listen to "Blue Bayou". I've been in love with Linda Ronstadt since the early 70's.
I love Linda so much, she is a true LEGEND.
You should watch the UA-cam video biography about Linda: "The Sound of My Voice", which tells her amazing story. Also, check out some of the 'torch songs' she put out with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra (three albums). Men were called 'crooners'; women were 'torch singers'.
Linda, such a talent. That beautiful, powerful voice.
She’s done a few beautiful trios with Dolly Parton and emmylou Harris.
Please do “Different Drum” from when she was with The Stone Poneys (Amber you’ll love it)
I loved your reaction! Played this 3 times JUST for your 1st reaction when you hear her singing in Spanish 👏🏻👏🏻👍🤣
Thank you! Y Viva Mexico!
desperado and blue bayou are my favorite linda songs such a very talented lady
What’s New is a song that she did with the Nelson Riddle Orchestera. So beautiful!
You guys that love guitar and horns is no surprise that you love this. That little flip in her voice is classic of Mexican and Mariachi singers. As a Spanish speaking person (my first language is Spanish), her pronunciation is perfect.
