Because Lolth's favorite sacrifice are high-ranking, powerful drow clerics (exclusively female) of her own church. If those are not available, any drow will do, though she prefers to devour her own worshippers.

Ah the clown makeup, i thought it would be a bit of light hearted fun to put it on all my companions and Shadowheart and I kept it on during the swimming scene making a lovely romantic moment totally ridiculous, I then spent the next two hours trying to get it off as long resting didn't rid me of it and i got extremely angry and wished I'd never touched it

Don't forget to take the clown outfit and put it on for camp outfit. Then disable your Armour and run around as clown everywhere. Plus after every long sleep go back to circus and stock up on clown make up. That's how I played trough whole of act 3 :D

When you first enter Baldur’s gate she literally says they should allow refugees in to enslave them for labor and use them as cannon fodder. You have to side with her and kill the grove, then find her at moonrise tower's to recruit her, and in such siding against the absolute. It's really roundabout because, you have to side with her and the Absolute to spare her, but then side against the absolute to recruit her Also killing the grove makes like, three companions leave, and kills off a story thread that can last the entire game, so it's really not worth it unless you want to be a horrible person, but even then, if you're that kind of person you'd probably kill her or leave her to die anyways.
I think they had to make Minthara interesting because if you side with her you lose so many main characters. I think of all the Mary Sues in the game, she's the most interesting, though once again, she's a Mary Sue whose main "flaw" is anger at being deceived.
Her flaw is that she is trying as hard as she can to fight back the indoctrination she has dealt with growing up as a drow as well as the trauma of being enslaved by the Absolute while still holding true to her own(albeit still aggressive) beliefs. Calling her a Mary Sue just means you blatantly didn’t pay attention to her of her dialogue
