Elizabeth, I love Peter! He was the first acapella singer I ever heard period! You MUST react to Peter and Nick Pitera's "Wicked Melody"! It's Amazing!!!
So much looking forward to this, but also the eventual Tim Foust interview with Peter’s matchmaking help.
Now it HAS to happen.
@@TheCharismaticVoice indeed. Kind of yesterday 😂 I´m really looking forward to it! (And completely off topic: Thank you for the recommendation of your chair. Its perfectly comfy :) )
He's honestly one of the best solo/layering acapella artists out there.
Agreed!
Awwwww I’m in love with your audience can I borrow them for you know a few aca videos a month???? :) :)
@@PeterHollens
@@PeterHollens you and Elizabeth should do a gangs of new york skit. Like yesterday.
@@TheCharismaticVoice diana ankudinova just dropped elvis cover, she's on russian tv every sat for the next 8 weeks ua-cam.com/video/w06R8iI0dg0/v-deo.html
Omg how lucky are you. Peter is such a talented individual whos been pushing out content for years and i just love him for it. Vocally he can do no wrong to me
Omg, that’s so nice of you to say Thanks Ryan!!!!!
@@PeterHollens holy cow you responded. What a treat! You are so insanely talented. I absolutely love the goody movie mashup you did, its one of my favs. Thank you so much for all the joy you bring
Peter's talents are awesome, but what really inspires me is his ability to collaborate and get the best performance possible no matter what the challenges. That is such a rare skill!
I’m so fortunate to have worked with so many amazing creators… I feel so blessed!!
I'm 100% sold on this being my favourite tea time just from the trailer! 😂 I also couldn't agree with Peter more on Tim 😉
He’s mine you can’t have him Melanie!!!!
Can’t wait for this one. Cool that you get to chat with so many great people.
The list is growing fast!
@@TheCharismaticVoice Fitting that Kirk worked in the aerospace industry, because you're becoming quite a star!
Omg I want to come back and do moaaaar things with The Charismatic Voice herself :)
@@PeterHollens OMG that would be awesome! Put Lindsey Stirling in the mix and you’d have a epic perfect storm of musical cosplay🙏🤗
@@philherman8633 YES!!! I LOVE all the work Awesome Peter has done with Awesome Lindsey!!!
Having only seen Peter in his videos where he is so focussed on singing and performing I had no idea he can’t stand still. What a lovely inspiring amazing individual. Thank you for this insight into his mind.
OMG! This guy has more energy in this interview than I have in a week. Wow. And unlike some people, a great interviewee as he does not need to be led by the interviewer. Heck, I call myself a "fly on the wall" watching these interviews, I think today Elizabeth, you joined me and just let Peter interview himself :P Very cool listening to his advice and sharing of ideas. Another fun conversation Elizabeth! Happy Friday from Tulsa!
For that co-reaction, I’ve seen all the calls in general for a VoicePlay Hoist the Colors reaction and that seems like a perfect one for the two of you.
YES PLEASE THIS
Second it! It would be awesome.. these two teaming up to react would be so wholesome lol
I third it....Yes!!! Please do a collab reaction to this song...It will be amazing....
Peter’s energy is amazing! I want to be friends with him…he is so fun!
Peter is a creative machine, so this should be a fascinating discussion, but it's just so cool to see how much fun they're both having!
Oh, it's so much fun. And we go through some super technical things too. Lots to learn, everyone!
Honestly I really really enjoyed this conversation…. I do remember that I talked to much and didn’t listen enough, that happens to me though when I get excited… also honestly that day I think I also had like 32 oz Cold Brew so I was pretty high on caffeine.
@@PeterHollens Mr Hollens, I think it's great that someone as talented and successful as you can remain so humble, but you are WAY too hard on yourself! Embrace the awesomeness that is you! Loved this interview, hope your family is well, and I look forward to the upcoming co-reaction with Elizabeth.
What an excellent interview, from both sides ! Both of you seemed, to me, as part of the audience, that your comfort level while speaking to each other was absolutely amazing. Very well done ! Also, if you should like to review this video, you will probably pick up on some valuable "life lessons" being revealed, not so much by instruction, but rather by example ! Thank You Both !
This was wonderful! Two incredible souls and gifted singers sharing your love and joy for music together. You definitely brightened my day.
I will be there. Peter is amazing and is so supportive of the singers he collaborates with. Looking forward to tomorrow.
That’s because they are all so amazing!!! It is so fascinating to me how the entire “LEGIT MUSIC INDUSTRY” always has so much competition, people trying to get to #1, and win all the awards, when real music… real music fans want nothing to do with it, it’s all about collaboration and working together… Do you only have one artist that you follow online? Do you only have one album that you’ve downloaded or album that you’ve purchased you know CD 💿
Peter Hollens is truly one of my idols. Thank you Peter for all that you do and create. I am a forever fan! Was a Patreon fo a while then lost my job to Covid. You inspire me to continue to create, love and try to inspire others. Thank you Elizabeth for this wonderful interview!
Why can I only leave one like to this, it deserves at least 3. One for you (Elizabeth’s, one for Peter, and one just for the fun of you together. I love reading the comments 9 hours before the premiere. Love seeing you both interact with audience in comments. Can’t wait for chat.
This dude is bloody awesome, looking forward to the double-reaction...!
Thank you Miss Elizabeth for a wonderful interview.....and Thank you Mister Hollens...It was very informative, an wonderful...I have learned a bunch more about you, and you are a wonderful person...I truly enjoy what you do.
What a beautiful human Peter Hollens is. Makes the heart happy. His ADD is a joy to watch, and empathize with lol.
Omg i can listen to his speaking voice forever 😍
I love this! I am such a huge fan pf Peter's, I have supported him on Patreon for a while now and I am always blown away by how amazing he is with his community, he's so giving aswell as talented. Some great questions in your interview with such interesting answers. Thank you.
Peter and Lindsey's Skyrim is what got me back into music and branched out on all the a capella singers and groups. Thank you Peter, so much.
Plus, finding the a capella bass singers led me to work on my low voice, long after I'd given up on the high end (first soprano way no more - at this point I'm closer to a baritone and love it).
Thank you both for an awesome interview! I became a vocal music fan last year after watching one of Peter’s collaborations with Jamie Grace. Now I love listening to Peter Hollins, Chris Rupp, and Home Free all the time. Reaction collaboration suggestion, Do You Hear What I Hear: Home Free.
I got into The Stormlight Archive a couple years ago. It became my favourite fantasy series and Brandon Sanderson is a great writer. Have since read his Mistborn books and others. So good. Glad he is a fast writer because it's difficult to wait for a new book.
Hoid?
Hoid? Hoid?
Hoid? Hoid?
Hoid?
I get what Peter is saying about preferring male voices. We tend to gravitate towards music we can sing. Even me who can sing bass and (mostly) match notes with Amy Lee tend to enjoy singing in my lower register. It's more comfy. And Oregon is beautiful. I love living here. So green! Thanks for the great interview!
These interview gems are quickly become my favorite things.
What a delightful interview. I have enjoyed Perter's music for a while but never knew how cool of a person he is! Thanks for an hour & a half of energy & smiles.
Oh my god my heart , I am so happy about this already!!
You guys really need to collaborate together....this NEEDS to happen.
Oh, it's going to happen.
@@TheCharismaticVoice may I suggest Jaina Proudmoore's Daughter of the Sea?
@@TheCharismaticVoice This is wonderful news, geeking out. Yes! we just rolled a twenty.
@@TheCharismaticVoice Why am I imagining somehow a multi collab with Lindsey Stirling as well... you three could totally geek out together and I'm here for it.
Oh, this is going to be informative and entertaining to say the least.
SUUUUUPER Entertaining.
Absolutely love his stance on creators and entrepreneurship. What an intelligent, talented guy! Thank you Elizabeth for always having such meaningful interesting and unique interviews. Xxx
Wow Lizzie, I've quietly watched your channel for quite some time. You're visit with Peter here is revolutionary for music geeks around the world!
2 Premieres. This is pretty awesome this channel as awesome as always thank you to Elizabeth and Kirk
Hi Elizabeth, this was a wonderful Tea Time Interview w/ Peter! You both were Fun and Amazing, and I look forward to your future collaboration(s) together. Thank you, Elizabeth & Peter! 💙
Loved it.... Two interviews in since 2:00a.m. Thanks for keeping an insomniac company, much appreciated. Nice to know there's a safe place to go when it kicks in and sleep escapes me. When Peter says "there is no box" it made me smile. Two fold, it's how I taught my two kids, that there were no rules, and that the cookie cutter mold of get a good education, meet the one, get married, 2,3 children, 9 to 5, white picket fence was not a rule of life. Find your passion and run with it. I got that all from a Pete Seeger album my mom used to play and the song "Little Boxes". I chose to take the road not taken; to borrow from Robert Frost; and set my children up to have the foresight to be able to do the same and not just do it, because that's what everyone has always done. It's nice to see someone as influential as Peter say it, affirming my philosophy. BTW, They're 49 and 46 now, an R.N. for going on 25 years, and a school teacher for 20 years, they both look forward to "going to work" every day.
Thank for such a great teatime interview. And I really hope for a collaboration song of both of you.
I really enjoyed this y'all. This tea time was so much fun!
You two are totally giving me bro/sis vibes in the best way. You guys are AMAZING and inspire a has-been singer like me to try and knock the rust off and rekindle my passion for singing.
Collaboration dream team. In no particular order. Elizabeth Zharoff, Peter Hollens, Home Free, Voiceplay, Pentatonix, Lindsey Stirling, Hailey Reinhart. I think UA-cam would implode if that list of performers all got together for a jam session.
This was an awesome interview and I love his sense of humour. The brain to mouth process was beautiful and brilliant to witness, I rarely see people let that happen and it's like sharing with us how they think.
I love his long-term goals and how he's trying to do that. I definitely agree that artists can be empowered by knowing this stuff and there's certainly enough $$ going around for these corporations to spread around.
I see his point in prioritizing passion over $$ but I also keep in mind that most likely start by paying basic bills and eating first before having the breathing space to consider that ... I don't envy them that choice. I chose wrong years ago, fell down that rabbit hole and never did find my way back out or through; it's not a simple or easy place to be.
Double analysis! Yes please! That would be awesome!
I love Peter so much!!! You guys should do (Hoist the Colors) from Voiceplay. Oh and I second Peter on having Tim on for tea time☕
I just fell in love with this channel anew! I was expecting Elizabeth and Peter awesomeness. I was NOT expecting love for Brandon Sanderson! I love the Stormlight Archive books too!!! BRIDGE FOUR!
I love this guy, I feel like Peter and Elizabeth could be siblings without knowing it, they have such a similar energy, sense of humor etc. So much fun listening to their interaction :D
I love Elizabeth! Her enthusiasm is outrageous!
Honestly, I have trouble following interviews, but I followed this one all the way through. I enjoyed Peter's answers and he seems like a really nice guy. He collaborates with Home Free so he can't be all bad. haha.
Awww yeah looking forward to this one
Ooh, this will be awesome! I cannot wait to hear what you two have to say about youtube fame. :D And yeah, how the Hell DOES he make those voices? I am officially ready for Friday afternoon and a "Fly on the Wall" conversation. ;)
Thank you, Elizabeth. I didn't know much about Peter other than his beautiful voice. He's like the Linus Sebastian of music.
The interview was GREAT!!! It was so nice to listen to all the questions and answers and get an insight on some things.
As for the co-reaction thingy I can agree with some other people here in the comments that you should react to VoicePlay‘s hoist the colors. I think it would be perfect because firstly it‘s a cappella and secondly it‘s one of VoicePlay’s best videos ever in my opinion.
OMG! I love the Stormlight Archives as well! Sanderson is one of my faves. Loved this interview!
I love Peter and it was actually by searching for him that I found your channel. And your shard blades are awesome. And your enthusiasm is contagious.
Also, thanks Peter for activating my Alexa.
I already knew that I loved Peter Hollens but he just seems like an amazing person even more than I thought before!!
Finally getting to listen to this interview!
Enjoyed the whole interview!
On a Sunday morning
While reading the Sunday paper
Drinking Earl Grey tea with a touch of honey
And enjoying every minute of this interview broadcast
I have limited knowledge on everything that you two ( and others) say when it comes to music, and much goes WAY over my head.
But then, that may be a plus. If a mistake is made, I do not recognize it. I listen the the general sound of the song, and consider the singing on many songs as part of the instruments playing.
Oh My Goodness, What a fantastic tea time. I really enjoy all of your content!! I am totally looking forward to you too doing a reaction together!! Thank You So Much!!
If you can, find Peter’s song The Prayer that he did with his wife. It is amazing. They both have fantastic voices which work together well. Also, the song itself gives me the shivers every time I hear it. They are magic together.💗👩❤️👨😊
Holy Sh*t, Peter! You may actually be more ADHD than I am. Love it. Sad part is, I can actually follow your thought process, even as it bounces from topic to topic. STAY UNFILTERED!
Peter: "I love your dual swords"
Me: "Yeah me too"
Elizabeth: "These are Shard Blades"
Me: A new reader and massive fan of the Stormlight Archive Series 😱❤
Yes! Stop taking advantage of creators!! I love that the pendulum is finally swinging to empower creators!
too many chiefs and soon there will be no indians.
I just love Peter! So cute and funny and crazy talented!
Since Peter mentioned Brian Hull, I would recommend any of their collaborations :D Always a great watch
Dream Theater has been my favorite band for 20+ years. Fantastic and insightful interview!
There are some old You Tube videos when Peter was in On the Rocks and they would sing once a week in a little area of the college and anyone could and usually did stop by to listen. There were even a couple of songs done in a cafeteria; acoustics weren’t great but the songs and kids singing were still impressive. In fact, Billy Joel’s Lullaby was one of the songs.👍🏽💕😊
Hi! Thank you for the video! We missed your reactions to Diana Ankudinova. Diana takes part in the sHowMaskgoon program on NTV and in the first issue performed the cover song I CAN'T HELP FALLING IN LOVE, 🌞 🌞 🌞 I would like to know your opinion. Diana Ankudinova is an amazing singer, her voice fascinates!
Diana Ankudinova amazing🤯🥰
Diana is a wonderful singer! We are waiting for a reaction to Diana 😍👍💥
I'm so happy that your favorite fantasy book series is the Stormlight Archives. I was watching a previous video thinking you'd do a really good Shallan Davar cosplay!
Best interview EVER!! Love you both! But now I have to watch the entire interview a third time (no, I'm really happy to do that. I watched it once myself, then watched it with my wife because it was so incredible) so I can take notes on the bookseries you mentioned and the other videos you referenced. I was surprised, though, that the video you showed a clip from was different from the video you had just reacted to.
The book series is "The Stormlight Archives" where the swords are from in the background. It's definitely my favorite right now, and the books are massive! Brandon Sanderson only has 4 of the books out currently (about 1,300 pages each) and the next book is slated for release in two years. As far as the video, I don't know! We have a video editor now that handles it. Go Hector!
@@TheCharismaticVoice the mistborn series by him is one of my favorite ever!
So much fun. To watch ye having great chat and I discuss stuff
Peter is a great person! I hope I can meet him in the future
I listened to the Tim Foust interview first. Then came here to check THIS out.
It feels like I'm watching two disney characters talking to each other... I love it!!!
Loved it.. as for recommendations on what the two of you should react to. Anything new by Geoff or Voice Play
I would absolutely love to see you react to babymetal, I think you would really enjoy their genre crossover. My go to performance of theirs for when I want to introduce someone to them is Road of Resistance-Live in Japan. You get to not only see and hear the performance of all three of the original vocalists but also the full original band backing. Along with that the crowd and crowd participation at that performance is unbelievable.
Hi Ian, Elizabeth already reacted to BabyMetal, "Karate," but this reaction was worldwide blocked by UA-cam's Content ID system and its copyright holder, so Elizabeth posted it on her Patreon for her Patrons to enjoy.
Collaboration suggestion, Diana Ankudinova. I would love to see Peter's reaction to her low range.
Peter Hells is a fantastic artist. He lead me on the path to love a capella music.
Hello from Canada great videos thanks
If Peter is going to do a reaction video with you then you HAVE to do an acapela colab with him.
I mean, if he'd have me.
Hi Elizabeth, you MUST listen to The White Buffalo "The Whistler" live at guitar center, you will love the the performance and emotion in the singer's voice. Thanks for everything :)
I just gotta say I appreciate a lot how sound quality is clear on both sides here, I love interviews you do Elizabeth, but some of them are not easy for the ears because of bad quality of sound on the side of person you are interviewing.
I love that Elizabeth’s a Stormlight Archive fan!
I would love to see Elizabeth to give a reaction to Peter's collaboration with Lindsey: "Skyrim"...
I'm sure Elizabeth has already seen it though... so good (it's how I discovered Peter Hollens)
Awesome interview. Peter is so inspirational and humble. A bit out of left field. If Peter would like some ideas for his son's fantasy reading, some Aussie children's authors are Emily Rodda and John Flanagan( Ranger's Apprentice). Garth Nix is also good but his work might be for an older child. The Artemis Fowl books by Eoin Colfer are good too. Sorry the children's librarian coming out in me. Love Peter's songs & your reaction channel & these interviews. I know very little about music & singing so I learn so much from you. Thank you
There is a song you have to listen to. Birthday by the Sugarcubes. Bjork's voice is amazing. One of her best
I think you will enjoy it.
Ok, I've been back & forth about joining the Patreon for a while, right up until Elizabeth mentioned Shardblades in the first two minutes. Done. I recognize Oathbringer on the left; is that Helaran's (unnamed) blade on the right?
Mayalarian on the right. And thank you! I'm a huge nerd, and really do love our community. Please join the Discord, and our live chats twice a week. It's just a fantastic group, and I love getting to meet each and every one of you!
Elizabeth managed to look away almost every single time Peter made a face. That takes talent.
AHAHAHAHA Kirk informed me of this during the edit process.
@@TheCharismaticVoice To be fair, you are a very auditory person. I feel it when you reach into the sound space and viscerally transport yourself into the performance. It's part of the reason your reviews are so good. It's the same with Tea Time interviews. You reach in and connect on a kinesthetic level, so you often appear to be looking away from the screen, but I feel how you are completely present. It's part of the charm. That and the eyebrows. Did I mention the eyebrows?
That w was amazing, although I can see why he might have upset his French Teacher 😄 I love a co-analysis of Dan Vasc and Violet Orlandi's Kiss from a Rose.
Omg yes!
Please do a fair to midland dance of the manatee! I know I posted on your other video but I promise you.. YOU WILL LOVE THE VOCAL RANGE!
Just like you asked: REcommendations Peter and Liz Collab Hoist the Colours By VOICEPLAY !!!! Hey Peter: Contact Both Geoff and Tim to Get together for a song for all of your Acappella fans!!!! We want to hear Peter; Geoff; Tim; Matt; Chance and AVI Kaplan do a Song together. Don't care what it is!!! A Tribute to your fans because we love these voices. Plus All the Beatboxers from PTX< Home Free and Voiceplay have a song as well.
I really wish I lived closer I would work for Peter in a flippin heartbeat.
I might drink good ole Luzianne sweet iced tea during an interview. :D But I do love Earl Grey & spicy Chai.
This was a great interview. On a side note we have a bakery here (Ct) that makes a s'mores
donut that is just ridiculously good.
It would be fitting if you and Peter reacted to a duet together! Something like Broken from Seether feat. Amy Lee would be awesome :D
Great interview. Also I think Ted Lasso is the perfect show for you, it is very positive just like you:)
I can't wait to check it out. Aaaaand here I am not having watched the first episode yet. I hope Peter doesn't see this comment.
Could you analyse anything with the magnificent voice of Annie Haslam in Renaissance. I would recommend "Cold Is Being" which is set to the music of Adagio in G minor, but there are many other great tracks to choose from.
Another reason to love you is that you are a fan of "Stormlight Archive"
Life before death!
@@TheCharismaticVoice strength before weakness!
TFW you didn't know Hollens covered one of your favorite songs ever. Gotta go remedy that!
Yo, how about you react to some A-ha and Morten Harket stuff?
I know you've heard "Take on me" as everyone has, but they are so much more than that.
Morten is one of the best vocalists in history.
Here's a list where you can really get a sense of his vocal dynamic. Maybe you could just do a mashup of their songs or something.
-- Take on Me 1984 (his voice isn't drowned out by synthesizers in the end)
-- Train of Thought
-- Take on me Unplugged (this is fairly recent. He's 62 now, and his voice has changed, but he still utilizes it very well. He worked with the change and didn't keep trying to do what he could no longer do)
-- Scoundrel Days
And I'll be damned if I can't remember that one song where he gets really low. If I remember it, I'll come back.
Also check him out on the masked singer. He was viking.
Lasso is amazing
I just wanted to suggest you do a reaction and analysis of In Extremo "Erdbeermund" or "Vollmond" it's German metal with bagpipes, a hurdy gurdy and a harp. The second song I listed is a beautiful love song if you either know German or read the translation.
Elizabeth, you like Brandon Sanderson, I enjoy all his books, and the Stormlight Archive are really thick, about 1409 pages on the last book in the series lol, 55hrs on audio version. I loved the Mistbprn Trilogy and later continued spin offs.
