I'm bearish on it being built to begin with, but hypothetically if it was: I consider it more of the same for the most part.........with the exception being that the condo units are a very important inclusion that will be critical in revitalizing the North End of the Strip in earnest as well as the area between the Arts District and Naked City. The original Fontainebleau was supposed to have condo units, but they were ultimately abandoned and I can't help but feel they would have been very helpful for that area of the Strip rather than banking exclusively on tourists and conventioneers. Also: the Allure project nearby on Sahara Avenue was originally supposed to consist of two towers until the late-2000s recession derailed the second tower, and then we all know about the crazy saga surrounding the Lucky Dragon (now Ahern) which replaced it. So having more condo units in that general vicinity as well as an expanding and encroaching Arts District can work wonders in revitalizing that still eyesore of an area, though there still needs to be cohesion as opposed to just randomly placed structures scattered about the vicinity.
LVXP looks absolutely amazing!!!!!! Far better than the last two resorts that opened on the strip. I really hope this gets built. It looks phenomenal!!
If Whataburger serves pizza, I think it's a must-go for your upcoming pizza crawl. Regarding the Sphere, I still think they are missing the boat by not doing the most epic planetarium show ever. They could get somebody like Neil Degrasse Tyson to write and host it, and they could show new images from the Webb telescope (or Hubble, for that matter). I would make a trip to Vegas just for that if they made it happen. Plus I think that's something that works at any hour of the day. You can run it during the daytime for school kids and all-ages tourists, then do a boozy 21+ nighttime show.
Thanks for another fun show, guys. Two things I would love to see at the Sphere: a Pink Flyod Experience and a Star Wars Experience (with full orchestra like they did with the traveling show a while back). Seems like Gen Xers (like me) would be lined up for that!
Shawn, I was in the middle of typing the comment about influencers having to update their "Vegas on a budget" videos Ocean One closing when you made that comment! LOL.
As you mentioned the Sphere has 2 big problems, one is debt, commercial loans are short-term, similar to balloon mortgages, if they haven’t yet, they might have to get a large portion of those loans absorb by banks/capital Investors in lieu of equity, i.e, SoftBank, or sell the property and lease it back, similar deal as most Las Vegas casinos. The second point, Mark’s idea to have the venue rented for CES, Apple and other product launches is absolutely brilliant.
If that LVXP place ever gets built, I'll be one of the first people to book a room there, that rendering looks insane and I love it! As for COTE, it's an amazing place, very pricey but to me it's worth it. I've eaten at their NYC, Miami and Singapore location, so I'm looking forward to the one opening in Vegas.
I think the Sphere concert films are a good idea. Not only if for whatever reason you couldn’t make it out to see an act you wanted to see, but it can be a pretty effective sales pitch for acts to show what the Sphere can do for them.
I will be in LV during F1 weekend. I have a Chase Sapphire Reserve card so this limited time pop-up Saphire lounge will be perfect for free food and drinks. I hope it's a spacious venue with minimal wait times because we have all seen the wait times for some of these airport lounges..
Primm Valley Resort has been closed since roughly late 2023. The lights are gradually burning out, one by one with none being replaced (Yes, we notice since we always have time to kill at the Superchargers) We were one of the last ones who went in while charging at Primm before they reopening Buffalo Bills. They were re-lighting and testing the Buffalo Bill's sign prior to this. We were so surprised to see the sign light up after being dark for so long. It was jaw dropping at the time, as we thought this hotel was dead and on it's way to being gone. We love the theming of BB's but they really need to get the log ride and Desperado refurbished and up and running.
Chase's new Sapphire Lounge at PHX is also at the Southwest gates. I thought the same exact same thing as Mark that CSR cardholders are not Southwest flyers.
Hate to disappoint you, Mark, but I have the Chase Sapphire Reserve card and I'm very much a Southwest flyer. When you live in Phoenix, as I do, Southwest is the logical choice for flying anywhere in the western half of the country.
Ah yes southwest and phoenix i had to wait 3 hours for a southwest flight from phoenix to vegas when at the time there was a flight to Vegas every hour.
The sphere is going to be making a ton of money about 3-5 years out. They need time to get all the acts in and then film them. Once recorded they can show the movies in perpetuity all year round.
Fun fact Mark: Alien Fresh Jerky while marketed as an extra terrestrial "Aliem," its actually was used in the semse of ILLEGAL ALIEN! The owner was an illegal ALIEN (HIS term not mine) when he started the business. Interesting guy! Genius marketer!! Not so fun fact Shawn: the prison in Baker has been closed 15-20 years. Just an old eye sore. Kinda like the town!
I remember Baker as the last Rest/Pee stop charter buses would take before Vegas. The Bun Boy Diner was it's big attraction and taking a picture in front of the Bun Boy Motel sign with friends, great for laughs.
Thought you might find this interesting: I'm Gold level MGM and just got complimentary tix to The Boulevard Experience at Cosmo for Formula One, Thurs and Fri nights. Right now, I can get a room at Aria Thurs-Sun fully comped. I didn't get anything comped during Formula One last year. Honestly, a lot of weekends, a regular room at Aria won't be comped Saturday night. Anyway, wonder why...
We will see how Cote does in Vegas, where there are plenty of high end quality Korean BBQ spots - it may be great in the NYC market but it’s a different beast in Vegas
Sad to see Ocean One closing. That was a place i would go to with my co-workers when we were there for a convention. It was great to have the 3 for 1 drink specials and end up drinking six big cocktails at supper time.

10. RIP Mr.Piffles ,,, 11. The sphere is Fabulous and one of the greatest attractions in Vegas ( abi dhabi is a junk country) ,,
12. F1 is total junk.
Mark Mark Mark... The North strip is struggling because Resorts World is mediocre and Fontainebleau is a huge dud. Don't be such a hater!!!!!! Hahahahahahaha Just kidding. 😅
Will the Sphere now display the image of the President+elect as they did the losing candidate Harris?
Depends on if Trump can con someone into paying for the advertising time. He never pays for anything himself.
I'm sure he can "raise" money from his cult supporters to pay for it. You know that's how it works, right? You pay the Sphere folks to promote whatever you want to show on their screen. Not that hard to figure out. 😅
Harris paid a lot to have her laughing face on the sphere.
Beef jerky place is nothing but a tourist trap. It is a place to avoid to stop.
Get Elons DOGE into Fontainebleau to trim away the excess fat. Don't worry they had Mr. Piffles stuffed and will be rented out for special occasions. You can get your polaroid picture taken with Mr. Piffles or a stipper for a 20 bucks.
Congratulations Nevada and the USA , while not being an American 🇺🇸 sadly , but British 🇬🇧 May I offer you congratulations on voting Trump in to be your next President again , the world 🌍 is definitely a safer place because of it .
I hope you enjoy whatever it is you’re smoking. Oh, you might want to learn Russian, too
Why?
I think this is sarcasm or rage bait.
What a tosser.
@@staceyharrison5158I mean, with Trump as the US president, at least until his cult decides to crown him king, Britain will likely end up a province of Russia.
Don't trust a gambling company? No way....
Worst people on the planet.
Trump will buy it and make homes and mini cities lol
Travis who
I use to enjoy going to Las Vegas but they continue to raise prices and add more resorts fees I’m now happy not spending my money there. Plus they seem to be catering to thugs. Good luck
