A lil background of myself, Asian dude that never tried Spanish cuisine. Just trying to eat healthier. I was looking to cook vegan protein sources such as beans, lentils, chickpeas... legumes. Came across one of his lentils and rice recipe... Tried to recreate exactly as best as I can... surprised how tasty it is. Now this man got me hooked to Spanish vegetarian cooking... I got chickpeas, and tried cooking it in other ways... not tasty. Now I can see a clear path to good flavor with the roasted pepper, browned carrot, onion blended sauce... Can't wait to try. And I can listen to the clear instructions... very distinct instructions with the man's unique speech pattern... also likable. I can see why there are many subscribers. Just noticed there are more than vegetarian dishes... which serves me well, as I'm not a vegan but just wants to eat more vegetables and whole food healthy cooking. Thank you, my man! For showing me Spanish cuisine, which isn't a big restaurant scene where I live. Now I'm eating Spanish cuisine! I'm making it myself! Whodathunk!
Be sure to check out Moroccan and Northern Africa cuisine. They also use a lot of lentils, beans, peas and seasonings. You have begun a journey you will not regret! Bon appetit!
You can also set your UA-cam player “loop video“, and the video will automatically replay continuously until you turn the setting off. I also bought some miniature Composition Books; I think they were modeled after a style of notebook from the ‘50s. The way Albert records, it’s easy to jot down the ingredients and instructions, either before you start your own dish, or during the video. The advantage of using a small notebook is you can keep them for your own use; just don’t use them for anything even remotely like publishing. So, don’t post on any kind of social media website. Instead, provide a link to 5:13 the video or to the SonaF website.
I made this last night and it is a phenomenal recipe. My son, who hates chickpeas even asked me to make it for lunch today. So grateful for sharing this. It's going to be in a regular rotation for my family
Hi Albert, I started 26 pepper plants in my garden this year and the peppers are starting to come in for processing. I have habanada, nadapeno, adjvarski, and hot paprika ( the seeds are from my father's motherland Hungary). I have been roasting, peeling, removing the seeds and freezing them individually rolled up. Now, I am watching this recipe and some others that you have made which are inspiring and delicious to make with my home grown peppers! Many thanks for your great channel!!!
Could not believe how good this recipe was. I live alone, and kept refilling my bowl, so that, by late in the evening, I had finished the entire batch! I used my immersion blender in a cylinder - something I’d learned from Albert in a different video.
I'm a little late to the party here, but I had to say thank you for this - another winner! I made it tonight and it was absolutely divine, especilly for a dish that is so easy to make. I served it in a bowl with a scoop of farro on top and some sauteed kale on the side. It made for a beautiful plate! 😋
I made this last night. Served it with a baguette and a little side salad. Everyone loved it! Thank you for the recipe and the easy to follow videos. Blessings!
My family and I really like your videos. I have to say we cook them every week. I just tired this recipe today and it was really good!!! I love how it’s plant based friendly and so healthy as well.
I made the spanish stew and garlic penne pasta. Both delicious!! I love that you tell us how many cups and table spoons etc not just grams. Also I find how you tell us how long to stir and when to add so thorough and I do feel it's why these recipes are turning out so good for me because left to my own devices I would burn everything so thank you. I can't wait to make this one😁
I made this tonight adding cumin and celery salt, using chicken broth and coconut milk for the additional liquid and it came out just dynamite. Thank you, Chef, for teaching me my first Spanish dish. Looking forward to the next one.
This was insanely good, maybe the best one of your dishes I've made (and they're all good). The flavor of the sauce was unexpectedly intense and delicious. I used store-bought peppers, a brand I use often, and they're good in general but somehow this brought out the flavor. Fantastic.
I love La Tienda. I found them by accident years ago looking for Spanish tuna. Now we order regularly and send their products as holiday gifts. One of the few places you can get authentic Spanish foods in the US.
Albert: *_I❤GARBANZOS !!!_* Delicious... and EASY - my favorite. The jarred roasted red bell peppers in your recipes do it for me every time. This is WILL-make! Thanks again. (Fan from San Francisco, California.) *!!~
Just put the lid on and turned the heat to low! Can’t wait to serve this for dinner-and sending to Italy where my daughter and her family are currently living! She needs these simple and quick recipes and this would be so easy to memorize. Thanks so much!
Amazing. ❤ I improvised a bit on this one. Instead of a carrot, I put in half of a sweet potato, and I had some "scraps" from passing canned tomatoes through my vegetable mill when I made my italian tomato sauce, I always freeze them so I added that. I also felt like adding a bit more of an Indian vibe, I had a can of coconut milk in the pantry, I added it too when blending the veggies. That's one of the thing I love the most about SIMPLE AND TASTY recipes - you can always just improvise. Next time I cook it, it'll be different again! 😁😍
I know what we're eating for dinner...tomorrow. I'm watching this after dinner and now I have to wait til tomorrow to try this. Cannot wait to try this
Hola Albert wow cada resera tuya es increible deliciosa y facil te doy las gracias por darnos todas estas resetas para disfrutar con nuestra familia .Eres el mejor bravo 👏 🙌 gracias gracias gracias
This recipe is incredible I never considered going Vegan until I saw this. I also have to add I love how you always simmer it is such an important process in cooking. I hope to see more great recipes on here.
i never knew how great chickpeas are until i found your channel, every recipe i tried here was amazing. My Family loves these. Will cook this tomorrow!
Looks amazing! I'd serve it with a generous portion of wilted spinach as I always like to have something green in every meal, and spinach and chickpeas is a marriage made in heaven 😋
This recipe looks so delicious and easy to make. To bad i don’t have the roasted bell peppers at home right now but I definitely gonna make this dish because it looks so delicious. Thanks again for sharing a great Spanish recipe again i really appreciate it!!!
I've been making this regularly since I first saw this vid, and it's one of my favorites. Any season, any time, it always hits the spot. Thanks for the recipe!
I love your recipes; I make your lentil recipe every week. For people following a no-oil diet, I promise you, you can leave out the olive oil and everything still tastes delicious.
Oh man, I'm eating the creamy garlic chickpeas right now for breakfast 🤤 These recipes are so good! Thank you 😊 Are Spanish recipes in the realm of Mediterranean cuisine? I guess no matter what these recipes are great. I keep wanting to do a Mediterranean diet, that's why I ask. This has been so healthy and delicious 🥰😋
I belong to a Byzantine church, where dietary restrictions during Lent are traditionally much stricter than in the West, with no meat, no vertebrate fish, no oil, no dairy, no eggs. LOTS of appropriate recipes here at SOAF! (I use very small amounts of oil for sautéing only; as much for the pan as for the taste of the food.)
There are so many dishes you can make with chick peas. This one I will definitely try. My fav, though, is curried chick peas eaten with tortillas. I like to use a hot madras curry. Oh how it burns 🔥. By the way, we have the same taste in toasters. 👍
Damn dude, this recipe rocks! I also did the potaje de garbanzos. Great work! Los hice hoy y quedaron riquísimos. Me encanta que se necesitan ingredientes super fáciles de encontrar. Saludos
Thanks! Seems so simple! I have some canned garbanzos waiting for a recipe - I'm making this for sure. I think I'll roast some fresh bell peppers instead of trying my luck with some random canned peppers. Now to decide what kind of simple flat bread to serve with it. 🤔
Believe or not I just made this and let me tell you how flavor is just insane good. I just love how my house smells like Spain.
So happy to hear that! Much love :)
I love the fact that you actually show a map of the region where the fish comes from. It makes it so much more interesting for me.
Much love :)
