  • Based on my own personal experiences with spiritual healing through prayer. Again, I am not trying to offend anyone with this video.

I'm very proud of you, Jake and very happy for you as well. I can see the joy on your face! I do believe that everything happens for a reason and often look back on experiences in my life with a shake of my head. Keep doing what you're doing and all the best, brother! Go Red Wings!

At first I was angry that God didn't heal me (I fell on my neck), but I started to realize that healing isn't always a physical thing. Maybe, when Jesus made the paralysed man walk, it wasn't physically walking (because then that would seem unfair to the permanently disabled). Maybe his "walking" was the ability for him to spiritually stand and walk alongside Jesus. That's just how I see it. Bless you, man

I have been prayed over numerous times. I always felt strange. I believe it gave me spiritual healing, but obviously no my CP. I believe some of us are meant to be dis abled. As a catholic, it was a share in the suffering, but as an adult. I would not be the same, nice person without my disability. I am humbled, accepting of others and sensitive because of my dis ability (I believe I would be the opposite otherwise). For many other reasons, I believe in God but not religion. I agree with you, it is somewhat awkward when people pray over you and nothing really changes, but the spiritual part will always rejoice, so it is never a waste. Keep up the faith brother(s and sisters). - Bob

Jake, you are such a cool guy! I've been watching your videos on Cerebral Palsy, and kind of stumbled across this one when I clicked on your profile. I love Jesus, too, and believe in healing. God is good. I appreciate that even though you weren't healed, God touched you. I believe every time we pray, something happens-- even if it isn't what we prayed for, there is always "fruit" to our prayers, like you said. Such a good word!
Also, my son's name is Jake. It's a good name :P

Hello Jake. I am so glad I came across your videos and was especially encouraged by this one. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and your life and helping people (including myself) understand others better :) Though I do not know you, you seem like a really great role model.
I'm thankful that you've been welcomed at church and understand that God has a purpose for everything (Ps 18:30; Prov 19:21). I hope you are continuing to grow in your relationship with Jesus and continuing to trust in our sovereign God. I was born with sickle cell disease and have had many people pray over me as well, but I still have it (however I'm doing really well physically). But sickle cell is nothing compared to what I deserve (separation from God and hell--Romans 3:23). Thankful that I have been healed from my slavery to sin through the death and resurrection of Christ (Isaiah 53:1-12). I am so blessed to have hope in Christ and true peace with God. I know that even if I am not healed on this earth, I will be someday; I'll have a new body in heaven. It's been comforting to know that as a Christian that through the trials that He allows in our lives, Jesus is glorified (John 9:1-3; John 11:4; 1 Cor 12:9-10) prayer, reading His word, as well as encouragement from brothers and sisters have helped me so much. We need each other! Keep looking to Christ, stay encouraged, and keep posting! I'll leave you with this passage from the Bible, which as been on my heart today:
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,"
    Ephesians 6:10-18
