Lexus IS250 F-Sport - First time ever at the Nürburgring

This was one of the five laps from my first time at the Nurburgring. The car is a stock 2012 Lexus IS250 F-Sport running Goodyear Asymetric F1 tires.

Balls. I couldn't imagine taking my stock, mint condition is350 on such a high speed track...well, I guess I would start slow with stability on/traction off. And the 350 has much stronger 4 piston front brakes...but every heavish ((3,500lbs+) street car driven on track needs high temp brake fluid and race pads on the front.

Yes sounds like a good idea. I replaced all discs and pads to slightly more aggressive brembos. The bigger brakes on the is350 should be awesome with some good pads.

I had the opportunity to take my GS 350 fsport on the Nurburgring and it was a blast the car did even better than I expected I definitely could’ve used better tires but the car felt smooth and the 3.5 sounded amazing

Check into Lexus F-Sport sway bars for improved handling and body rigidity, makes a huge difference over the stock sway bars.

I'd love for you to add a throttle body controller, GSF LCA bushings and hood strut bar then go back. Just those 3 things made my 07 IS250 feel great and completely different

Only maintenance, nothing performance enhancing. Took the intake off and cleaned it, as well as fitted new standard sized Brembo discs and pads allround. It was great fun!

Thank you! Yes it is stock. The brake discs and pads have the standard dimensions, but are from Brembo, instead of Lexus parts. That is the only slight mod if you can even call it one. The calipers are standard.

Have you thought about doing the rr racing tune? I live in Macedonia and have a 2008 is250. Contacted rr-racing multiple times but they can't confirm if their tune will work for the European is250 with 208hp :/

Yes I have thought about it, but I don't feel 100% comfortable with it. I would like a local company that I could visit if there are any issues.

I have not tried both, but a friend recently bought a luxury line is250 with the standard suspension. He says it has noticeably more body roll, but feels pretty much the same otherwise. The tyres are wider on the F-sport and I think the rear brake rotor is larger. No difference in the drivetrain.

Yup the discs get overheated in the downhill sections an temporarily warps. The thankfully return to a normal state when they cool down, so no vibrations then 🙏

What's the difference between a F-Sport vs a normal IS 250?

Stiffer suspension, bigger rims with wider rear tires, bigger rear brake discs, aero add ons on the front spoiler and trunklid, more supportive seats and slightly different steering wheel. Might be more things, but this is what I know from the top of my head.
