I wish you would do more close ups on what your doing.
I agree. It's very hard to see exactly what she is doing.
You “showed” us the optional placement of the mesh pocket but we could not see inside the bag. 😢
View in full screen. That really shows some of her techniques. That's what I do.
@@karengay8837 I always watch full screen still can't see some of the areas of the project she's talking about.
Misty, you do a wonderful job in your tutorials. Thank you.
Love how this compact little bag opens up to reveal all that room. Whether it's cosmetics, sewing item, looks like a perfect carry-along. Would agree on a few more close ups. Great project for young ladies.
I think you are a wonderful teacher, Misty. Thanks for the perfect instruction!
Thank you Misty! You and your family are such good teachers and share your God given talent with everyone! I love this design. Have a wonderful blessed day! God bless you!
I would sew up the sides to attach the zipped pocket, making a pocket behind it too.
That's exactly what I thought would be great to do.
Great idea! I’ll use a double zipper pull, I’ll and add foldover elastic on the mesh pocket as well.
Great tutorial. As always, you give great instructions and explanations for the techniques used. I’ve purchase my pattern-lovely surprise that it was 50% off! It will be the perfect bag for my travel trailer, and I’m sure I’ll make several for both myself and friends. ❤️
Thank you, and stay well!

May 2023 be filled with love, joy and creative times. This is the perfect bag for back to school in South Africa which is 18 January 2023. It will go with my Starting High School Survival kit (filled with treats and special small stationery items. I am so excited to make the bags and I have enough time to do so. Thanks to Missouri Star.
Thanks Misty, for the great pattern and tutorial. I was confused with the outside zipper but then took a break, reread and rewatched. It was easy after that! You’re a great teacher!
Did you do a French seam for the inner zipper pocket? Also on the inner zipper pocket if you top stitch down the 2 sides it would give you another pocket on the backside.
I was going to suggest this. This gives an additional slip pocket.
calming way to start the week. Very nice projects.
Love all the pocket ideas!
Misty your hair looks fabulous!!! Bag is perfect!!! Can't wait to make it!!! Great project!
Thanks for another great tutorial!! I'm needing a new make-up bag...this will be perfect!
You are a great teacher Misty! I am going to make this!
Love this bag, great way to use up my fat quarter collection.
This was great!! I’ve always wanted to make this type of bag but thought it was too hard. I really enjoyed Misty’s tutorial!!
Your hair is so pretty!! (You're my favorite, always so sweet and just good vibes.) Thanks for a great video!
This looks interesting. Going to re-watch and make one. Thank you for continuing to do these videos. Great job
The side panels are a fabulous idea!
Thank you Misty great tutorial.
You might want to start sewing this project with a jeans needle.. so many layers at the end....I love this bag
Hi Misty, Gee, I really like this bag. It turned out pretty nice and doesn’t look to hard to sew together at all. Thank You for this tutorial, it’s very helpful. I hope you have a wonderful week. 🥰 Chris
I made this bag and it is so roomy. I can fit so much in this. I had a problem with the ends of the zippers being too bulky in that seam. I think if I make it again I’d put zipper tabs on to reduce that bulk
just a note for the next video. While I have made bags and used zippers... it can still be confusing. If you would say things like zipper right side up or face down on each section with a close up... instead of just assuming that we all know so you zoom through that part it would be a huge help. Even if the instructions say it... it would be helpful if YOU said it. Really cool bag, great use of fat quarters... just wish the zipper part was explained a bit better... Thank you so much for the video!
That would have helped me. I had the zipper all sewn on both sides and it was completely wrong! Ugh! The pattern does not tell you to place the zipper upside down on the exterior fabric.
@@brendaandrusyszyn1171 I wondered about that, as well. So the zipper should be right sides together with the outer fabric?
@@sewnluv After removing the zipper, I placed it upside down on the ‘right’ side of the exterior fabric. I was able to finish the first side but really struggled with the second side. I wanted to like this pattern but I probably won’t finish this one.☹
This is an intriguing pattern. Thank you for the video.
Cute bag!
Cool bag. I especially like how it opens up "completely" so stuff can be found easily. I agree with previous commenters that a few more close-ups would be helpful. Example: when you are sewing the zipper on the pocket and you describe where to sew and warn us about the possibility of breaking a needle but you don't show us. I sew clothes so I'm pretty sure I know what you're talking about, but those who don't sew a lot of zippers might not. I haven't bought the pattern yet, but your verbal instructions are definitely going to make sewing this bag a lot easier than just following written directions. Thanks, Misty!!
Ģood job demoing the bag. I'll be making a couple as my grand daughter has the sewing/quilting bug.
Apparently there is an even more detailed tutorial on the UA-cam channel for SewingTimes (maybe they’re the bag designers?). Worth looking if you’re planning on buying the pattern and sewing this bag.
Their are metal parts to break the needle on, you will easily see the metal on the zipper!
@@HRHDMKYT thank you so much for this!
love it!! Can't wait to try it!!!
Love it! 👍 Thank you from Norway! 💟
That its very very nice i love in the way that Misty explain every thing. I think she has enough close up. She did the project in a fare amount of time, good luck Misty!!!!
Cool bag! ❤
Aahhhhh and the proper word…”both” has finally replaced the “either”. Love it, love this cute tutorial, will be making this! Thank you Misty
Thx so much. Great tutorial. Love ur hair also
Such a great video! I love your hair - looks like you got a trim and it compliments you!! All the best!
I love this bag. I am making it for gifts. You are a great instructor! 😊
Without this video visual, it can be hard to comprehend how complicated these little zippered bags can be to construct. (Imagine how tricky it was before the advent of the internet and UA-cam). If I were to make this bag, I would of course purchase the pattern and read it through. But I was just curious how that three-sided zipper was installed. It really relies on the shape of the fabric panels. Ingenious design! Thanks for this video, Misty, it really helps to show how complex yet doable this is to make! ~Diana K.
This was sooooo fun!🎉
Great video! I undstood every aspect of the tutorial!
Great project and demonstration Misty! Your explanation is very clear and you’ve got a very pleasant stage/video presence. Keep ’em coming.
Thanks for a great tutorial. I've bought the pattern and hope to make a few of these.
I enjoy watching your videos, you’re doing a fantastic job Misty! Very clear instructions, thank you.
🌞
I have made this bag using 2 different patterns, I always have at least an inch of extra fabric at the middle bottom so my ends won't line up nice and straight. Very frustrating!! I think I have watched all of the UA-cam videos on this bag!!! Misty, you make it look so easy!! Thank you🧡
Me too. I just extended the side inserts to match
It was interesting to do, I love the inner pockets. I'm not too sure if I would use this pattern again, but I did learn new stuff. I also used a zipper by the yard, with a wide zipper. It seemed to create more bulk on the last step of adding the side panels, but my Bernina sewed through all of it with no issue.
When stitching the side pieces, it gets pretty bulky. I broke a needle and messed up the timing on my Juki, be careful everybody when stitching the side panels.
I'm ready to make a more difficult bag thanks so much Misty thanks
I like Misty’s bag and tutorial but I also wish there are many more close ups.
I really would like to see how you handle the zipper on the open side. Cute bag! Working on mine now!
Good tutorial I can see how u stitched this I have made a diff bag from your tutorials luv these little bags
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Hi Misty , I enjoyed this tutorial very much but they were a few times I couldn't tell what you were doing. I love the bag !! I want to learn how you done every detail sweet girl so i can give it a try.😊❤❤ old Georgia Nana here. ❤
I just finished this bag. I thought it was fussy and difficult to make, particularly final steps of sewing the ends and adding the interior panel. Before I started this bag I would have said my sewing level was somewhere in an intermediate range. After sewing this bag, maybe I should downgrade to confidant beginner. I did add a fusible fleece to the exterior fabric and my coordinating zipper was only 22”. I think that made an already fussy bag downright irritable. I did not enjoy making this and don’t plan to make another.
Kudos to Misty. She her tutorial was excellent and she made it look easy to sew!
You could put 2 of the mesh pockets on the one side and have more storage space don't you think.
Love this little bag. The youtube Chanel ‘sewingtimes’ made a free tutorial and pattern for this same bag a week ago
I enjoyed this pattern…glad i made a practice one before making several as gifts. On the practice one, the second edge to sew, where the zipper pull will be when the zipper is closed, looks bad…the zipper teeth are not together. Not sure yet how to rectify this. Anyone?
Cool - but why not include the seem allowance in the template?
Wonderful bag! A little more contrast between the fabric and cutting mat would help as well as more close ups of the details.
Nice little bag. Wish the camera work was close up to see what was being done.
How hard would it be to adapt it to the Fancy zips? Any ideas? I love this bag!!
I did get the pattern but I would rather have the larger pattern that you cut down. The one you have to up-size seems to have greater opportunities for major mess-ups. If you cut both large, you can trim one down. If you cut both small, you could easily be out of luck. You could have both in the digital pattern.
Great tutorial. A bit time consuming for such a small bag
This is the second time I've watched this tutorial and I really want to make this bag. I'm wondering if the shape-flex is actually enough of a stabilizer or could we use some iron-on fleece. Honest opinion please and if you feel it would be too bulky in the seams or for the bag.
I wondered the same thing. I decided to add a fused fleece layer on top of the shape flex on the exterior fabric. The bag came out nice, but it was a huge struggle to construct the sides of the bag. Closing the ends if the bag and adding the interior side pieces was already difficult. I think adding the fleece increased the difficulty. I would not make this bag again, with or without fleece.
Can you tell me the name of the quilt on your ladder? it is so pretty. I also really like how this bag opens wide. A nice tutorial. Thanks.
I have always loved your tutorials, and have learned so much from them. I am disappointed that you now have commercials on your channel, the disrupt the flow of your tutorial.
Great bag. I notice in the link that a fancy zip can be used for the longest zipper, "if it has no cutout designs". How would a fancy zip be installed so the pretty part shows? And don't all fancy zips have somewhat of a cutout design? Thank you.
Nice bag. Is there another video showing "the typical way to make a handle"?
Thank Misty! But could you do close up?
👍👍👍
When you attached the zipper, was it put at the fabric fold?
Really need close ups, and less busy fabric so we can see what you are doing. This is a complicated project but with better visuals would be so much easier for average sewers to make. Vthank you!
Please choose a cutting mat, fabric and zipper that have some contrast between them all. Everything was dark and hard to see. Pretty finished but hard to see on outside.
The inside colors all worked great for seeing.
More close ups of folding/positioning etc might be helpful for some but personally, I am not a fan watching anyone sew. I wanted to see the construction method for this project so I put up with it. Cute bag for so many things.
No weight is stated for shapeflex..it comes in more than one.
Wondering if anyone has tried batting or fusible fleece in combo with a generic interfacing instead of the shapeflex.
Love the look of this bag. Bought the pattern. Difficult to follow, watched & rewatched video. Maybe a problem with downloading the template, but my side panel measures 7 1/2 " & the side is 9". What's wrong? Template or side panel measurement?
Where did you get the vinyl covered mesh? It's not on the Missouri Star website.
Love this bag. I can't seem to find the pattern?
Fancy nails too!!!
I can't get my pattern to print the right size. My printer settings are "default," and the pattern prints WAY too big to fit on a fat quarter. I got it down to fit the fat quarter, but the bag turned out to be 9" x 5" x 5." On the pattern, there is no "match this 1" square to be sure you're printing the right size" kind of key or guide.
I just bought this pattern and I agree...I am not sure how big the template should be!
do you use cotton thread or a polyester or ? I've always heard 100% cotton is nice but doesn't last as long.
Is the zipper face up or down when attaching to bag?
face down
I wish this pattern was in block book
I only use shape flex
Is there a pattern for this bag. I would like to purchase it.
I love how you explain what you are doing, I just wish I could see better what you are doing. Especially when you are marking and again when you clip the zipper so that I have a better idea of how far to clip it.
I agree, I think the colorful fabric confused me as she used 3 kinds. I plan on making this.
What are the finished measurements of the bag?
Where can I get the template please
It's a pattern - available for download - from what I saw it is $4.95
Very clear and understandable directions!
In putting in the zipper you stopped to fix something but WHAT did you fix. I would really like to see what toy are doing.
Does pattern have to be purchased or free?
Looks like you could have 2 mesh pockets
Might be nice on a color that's light. Easier to see what you are doing. Beautiful bag.
Quick question for anyone who has made this bag . . . Pattern calls for a 24" zipper, but it looks like Misty cut off a couple of inches on each end. Any way a 22" zipper would work, or does it take the full 24"? (The color I want doesn't come in 24")
Yes I cut off about 2" at each end.
I used 22” zipper no problem.
I used a 22” zipper. I struggled with the bag in general. I think the 24” might be a little easier to work with.
I enjoy all your tutorials, but the room lighting can be brighter.
Where do you get the template pattern?
What was that attached to your iron that raised it when you put it down, please?
It's the iron itself, not an attachment. The brand is Oliso. They make self-raising irons.
What a good idea is it an American make? I've not heard of the make myself. Thank you.
Yes, based out of San Francisco, California. Specifically it's the "Missouri Star Jenny TG1600 ProPlus Oliso Smart Iron" which is only available from Missouri Star Quilt Co.'s store and website.
Thank you. I will investigate!!
Where do I buy the templates?
Where do I find the pattern please? I have looked everywhere 🙈
You can you find a pattern for the All Access Bag here: www.missouriquiltco.com/products/all-access-bag-pattern-by-missouri-star
I have a question. Why is the zipper pocket sewn to the bottom of the bag???
Misty said in the video that you choose where to put the pockets.
@@jacquiheasman2048 She said that about the mash pocket. The fabric pocket is sewn into the bottom seam.
Hi.
Where can we get the template pattern? Thank you for your great tutorial!
I cannot seem to find the template for this bag please help
Where is the template? I cannot find it.
