Why don’t you snip the seams closer together rather than it looks like 1” apart......when I make my rag quilts I snip each a 1/4” from each other and when washed it rags sew soooo nice....I love flannel rag quilts 😇🌻
I'm new to quilting... Why did you cut the batting in squares rather than sewing the squares together and keeping the batting whole? Edit: I just looked it up, so now I understand. But does the fabric not fray? Also one more question: What size did you cut your squares? I can't remember if you said it or not
The raw edges do fray but that’s the look we’re going for with rag quilts. After a wash and dry cycle they have a ragging texture on the front of the blanket. Also, I’m doing 6” on the front and back fabric and the batting is 5”. 😊

What type of fabric are you using? Some look like cotton, but some like the blue backing for the fishing quilt did not look like cotton.
I usually do cotton flannel on the back. That pink quilt was a special order and they wanted regular cotton on the back.
Nice work.
I LOVE that mushroom fabric !!
It's sooooo pretty!
