I have followed you for many years, ordered a ton of fabric, etc. and made many of your quilts. I would love some day to visit you town. Thank you for all the help through the years.
Thank you Jenny and Natalie for such a versatile pattern. I think this is going to be a favorite of mine for my scraps. I first discovered MSQ videos in the fall of 2019 and I am finishing my 84th quilt! I do all of my own quilting too. Jenny, you made me believe I could make quilts for my twin grandchildren and I just can't stop 😊 Thank you so much!
Wow! you go girl! I have been quilting since 2022 and I think I've made maybe a dozen quilts. I also enjoy making small projects. So, that too takes up some of my time. I commend you, keep up the good work.
I love this quilt. Several years ago I wanted to make a lap quilt for a friend who was going through Chemo. I had several charm packs and this is pattern caught my eye. I am happy to say that the quilt is loved and my friend is healthy. Thank you for another wonderful tutorial, I am thinking of making this quilt again.
Jenny you and Natalie are naturals on the camera. You can draw the audience in & it is as if we are sitting there at your studio with you. Beautiful job as always.
This is one of my favorites! I have no problems with the camera angels. I am sad that when I go to the app to watch the prior videos for inspiration they are no longer there😢. MSQC is my favorite place to shop since there are no local quilt shops in my area. Keep up the great work!
@@barbaraking9033 Which videos are you looking for? I have never bothered with the app. I just went out to UA-cam (not the app!!!) on my desktop computer and searched the Missouri Star site (www.youtube.com/@MissouriQuiltCo) and found the Disappearing 9 patch video from 13 years ago.
Great idea! I cut scraps into precut sizes & have a tub of 5" squares! I'd have to use either a very light color-white, cream or very dark-black or gray as my accent fabric to have enough contrast to my various colored squares. But that would be a way to use some of them up & they not have to match each other 😊😊
I love this block. I once used it to make a wedding quilt for my niece and her husband. They wanted their guests to write a message to them - marriage advice, etc. So I gave each guest a Kona “snow” charm square to write their message. Then I used those blocks in the disappearing 9-patch pattern. I made sure the message blocks were placed so they would not be cut. I also had to figure out how to place each message so that all of the messages faced in the same direction once the block was reassembled. It was a little bit of extra work, but definitely worth it! (MSQC quilted it for me.). The couple was thrilled with the result.
I love watching your tutorials and will be sure to make this one soon. It's been years since I have made a quilt, now that I am retired it is on my bucket list.
I have just made this quilt pattern using the Kaffe fabric I bought from you. Very bright and beautiful quilt. I looks great. It comes together really quickly. I like how Natalie mixed up the blocks. Will do that next time.
When Natalie is suggesting mixing charm packs, I’m reminded of something very recently. I put a few fabrics, & charm packs near each other. And I was so surprised to find his beautifully they mixed. I even showed my sister, and they were different manufacturers. We wondered if the dye manufacturing company had something to do with this serendipitous wonder. It was beautiful and I’ve set them together to put into one quilt. So, it just goes to show what the ‘quilting fairies’ have in mind for us. Happy sewing.
So interesting that I’ve watched your old video on this twice in the past week. I’m getting ready to do a scrappy blue and white quilt with this pattern. Thank you..
I've been making disappearing 9 patch quilt tops like that for years out of scraps. Most of them have been finished at church and sent to Mexico. 12:56
Ladies I absolutely love your tutorials! Thank you Soo much. I have learned so much from you and I'm so grateful. From the bottom of my heart thank you and God bless you! You are amazing teachers!
I made one of these early on and it is so much fun! It makes a nice quilt and it is a way to use up fabric in your scrap bin! Thanks for a great video!
I had left over charm packs that I didn’t know what to do with! I didn’t like the pattern and didn’t want to even use them but I just wanted them gone. I made this one a couple years ago and it turned out great, one of my favorites.
Wow I love how easy you break it down and so easy !! I always cut my scrapes to 5” or 4” this one will help use them up ! Thanks so much 😊I love watching your tutorials!!!They are the best !
Thanks for the video tutorial. The method of chain piecing the nine patch block makes it so easy to create the block. I’ll be using the Whimsy 5 Karat Gems to make this quilt. I love that the charm pack consists of the same pattern and different colors throughout.
Hi I am relatively new to quilting . Have just picked up my first quilt from the long arm quilter .Very pleased with it I’m from bootle in cumbria England.Love your work. Judith
Hello Jenny and Natalie! This is absolutely one of the simplest-yet deceivingly complicated-quilt designs to make! Hmmm…I’d like to see how the design would come together by offsetting the cut line in the centre block. Perhaps cut at 2 1/2” so the remaining part of the centre block is 1 1/2”? Going to test that! I certainly hope that the two of you will continue to post videos together after your 15-year celebrations! Thank you both, and stay well! Muskoka ON 🇨🇦
Thanks for sharing another fun quilt. I have a bag of 1930's fabric. To much to discard but I believe enough for a twin. This is on my to do list for Jan. Thanks again.
I love this quilt..it had me diving into my scrap box and I had enough to make a twin quilt..such a great easy pattern and it works up so quickly..thank you for a great tutorial!
I am currently making one for my brother-in-law with all his sports teams colors. I was happy to see Natalie scrap the blocks up even more by just picking four from a pile and putting them together. I was keeping the four from my block together but will finish the rest of his blocks Natalie's way which will scrap it up even more. There are ten colors in all of the teams he loves and I am using solids. It was hard for me at first as they are colors that I would never put together. As I got a few blocks done and laid them together it didn't bother me as much as they look good all scrapped up.😂
I really love this fabric! It has a lot of the colors that made me fall in love with Jenny’s scrap quilt. I made this quilt for my sister using a layer cake from Me & My Sister (way back when this tutorial came out). I am now inspired to make another one. ❤Thank you, Ladies!❤ BTW, Natalie, you look beautiful in that yellow! 😊
I was thinking about layer cakes since this pattern uses 4 charm packs - just a little more cutting the layer cakes into 4 5” squares but I don’t mind!!
I love the disappearing nine patch. It was one of the first quilts I made from your tutorial and I have made a couple more since!! I think I may need to make another one.
How funny.. Mine too. I made my mother a HUGE over sized queen quilt for her bed as a gift last year for Christmas. (I used Tilda Fabrics) it turned out beautiful (other than my binding which was a real tiger to tame).
@@amyshoemaker1566 Now that is funny because I made an oversized one too and I think it's my favorite. It felt so modern with all the open areas. Bindings not my favorite either.
I have followed you for many years, ordered a ton of fabric, etc. and made many of your quilts. I would love some day to visit you town. Thank you for all the help through the years.
I appreciate both views while Jenny is sewing. Thank you!

I love watching Jenny sew. She always has the pedal to the metal and just zooms through those seams!

I too have a box of 5-in squares. This would be perfect
This would be a perfect quilt to use up all my extra five inch squares I keep. Then it would be truly scrappy and a wonderful memory quilt.

I live all those disappearing block quilts. They all look like you worked so hard.
Thanks again ladies! I entered my Dressed to the Nines quilt top in our county’s fair and got a blue ribbon!! Y’all are awesome!
The quilts are always beautiful, but it’s so nice that you keep it real. Lovely work! The videos are one of my favorite things about Friday.
I love this block. It’s so versatile! It’s an oldie but a goodie. ❤

Love this so much Natalie is so blessed ❤️ Wish I still had my Mom to sew with
That fabric line is gorgeous.
I have a batik later cake that would be great for this. Thank you for a beautiful quilt.
Great idea to use up fabrics by cutting into 5” squares! A great pattern for relaxing weekend sewing ❤
Another "maw-valiss" tutorial from two of my favorite ladies. Thanks for sharing. Take care and blessings to y'all.
Thanks Jenny and Natalie fir this tutorial. What a fun quilt! I think I’ll take my scraps and cut squares out of them and make some fun quilts. 🌸🩷🌸🩷🌸
I love the bright scrappy look of this quilt.
One of a easy peasy favourite blocks, thank you for sharing!
It would make a pretty red, white and blue quilt!
Four years ago, I made my grandsons quilts. One was a library bookshelf, the other a disappearing 9 patch from your tutorial. Both are well loved
I love watching your tutorials and will be sure to make this one soon. It's been years since I have made a quilt, now that I am retired it is on my bucket list.
I really love this one. Thank you for sharing this with us. I love 9 patches. 🎉💖

That's a great idea. Thanks
Ooo - Christmas fabrics! Or maybe Halloween fabrics!!! Or - 😄😄😄.
A beautiful pattern! Made by beautiful people! Thank you Jenny and Natalie

Best version of the disappearing nine patch I've ever seen. Thanks girls as enjoyed every minute.
Sometimes I think that Jenny should be wearing a crash helmet at the speed she sews! 😆
😂❤
Lol. 😂😂😂😂😂
I just can't believe how easy you make it look. I think I might give this one a try...
Thank you Jenny and Natalie. I love this quilt. Thank you for sharing. ❤️✝️🙏

Love your binding matching the outer border.
I made a disappearing nine patch using black & white geometric fabric & turned out fantastic!
I was looking for an idea for a quilt with no background fabric. This is perfect!
The first few quilts I made were disappearing 9 patches using your original video. Thanks for the years of education and inspiration!
Absolutely beautiful and what a great quilt to use up scraps of different sizes! Thanks ladies!

I have made a baby quilt using this design! Love the Cadence fabrics used here!
🎉Love the energy and ease you lovely ladies bring to quilting❤
Love it. I have a beautiful FQ bundle. I think I'll cut 6"squares to use more of the fabric. 😊
Could probably make a full or queen size quilt by changing the size of the squares.
@@settame1 My FQ bundle is 28 pieces. What ever that comes out to is how big it will be😊
Great quilt pattern and love seeing Nat. also!
Such a fun block to play with. Thanks Jenny and Natalie. ❤️🇦🇺

I love making the disappearing 9 patch. I am going to try it with my leftover 5 inch scraps. Thank you.
This pattern is one of my favorite! I have made it often

I love how you have the double screen which shows Jenny while she is sewing! Such a cute pattern!!!
