I agree! I have too many rulers already, but I have a 24" ruler that will work for this perfectly. As a matter of fact, a while ago I fiinished a quilt and scalloped the edge, but I never had the nerve to sew on the binding, so it's been sitting unfinished for a long time. I'm going to try to see if I can complete it.
I feel like even after the two years she's not coming back to the screen the way she is now. She will be missed but she's work worked long and hard to build something and it's time for her to enjoy and pass the torch. I will say I don't know that I'll watch as much and that's unfortunate. There's a charisma that Jenny has that no one else does. It took an entire team of on-screen talent to replace her which is a testament to her on-screen presence.
Jenny, Natalie, and Misty are you using a pencil to mark with, and how do I stop my rulers, & Template's from moving, while I cut the block piece's out ?
I agree. Natalie has really been a great helper. I love how they all support each other. On a side note, Natalie, you have inspired me to get to a healthier weight and grow my confidence. 🎶💐💖🫂
I love how relaxed you both are compared to when you first started years ago. I’ve always loved watching your videos but they are so much better now. It’s like being in the room with you.
Natalie you're doing such a great job! I really enjoy watching your videos. I know while Jenny's gone we're in great hands with you & Misty. Thanks for all you do!! Cheers! ~M
I always reckon my weekend in England, starts with a cup of coffee and watching your tutorials, it somehow makes getting through Friday at work much easier! This one has been just fabulous, thank you.
I have been watching your tutorials for many years and have learnt so much. And a very big Thank You to Natalie for always showing the alternative ways things can be done using the tools we already have. It’s great if you have all the special rulers and tools but not all of us do so I really appreciate Natalie’s input. Thank you to both Jenny and Natalie I love your tutorials. ❤😊
Since I have an Accuquilt 2 1/2” strip cutter I always put a bias binding on my quilts. I was so thrilled to see how this curve edge was accomplished! Thanks! We are going to miss you Jenny!
I've seen lots of cutting bias binding for quilts and cut it but this is a much easier system. The other methods left me so scared to start cutting and possibly ruining my fabric. I'll use this method now. Great video. Quilt block, scalloped edges and bias binding. Thank you.
This was such a great video. I really like this quilt and although I have that scallop ruler, I have not used it yet. I love when I feel like it's not being rushed. The step-by- step instructions are always helpful. I've been quilting for years now, but I learned most about making quilts in the beginning, from watching Jenny and the Triple Play videos over the years and still learn at least one new thing with every video. I find it very helpful to see the different ways things can be done in the Triple Play videos, as well as videos with Jenny and Natalie. Thanks, ladies!❤
Hello Jenny and Natalie! This is a gorgeous pattern for a layer cake! When I first learned to quilt, I found the continuous bias binding from a tube method. It is really quick, because it just requires 2 seams. As Natalie suggested, it would be convenient if the scallop ruler came with an acrylic quarter circle template instead of the paper template found in the book. Jenny makes applying the binding to the scalloped edge so easy. Thank you, and stay well! Muskoka ON 🇨🇦
Love the hand detail on the matching cushion! ADORE this quilt, and best ever tutorial on a scalloped edge and binding. Have only ever made bias for applique. Great quilt. Hugs, Chel 🌸
Love the quilt. You are both right in the name of the older version of the quilt. In Block magazine Volume 1 Issue 2 it is called Magic Square, and on you tube it is called Quilt clips it's called Half Square Triangle Quilt Using Four Seasons Block. Thank you all for all of your enthusiasm and teaching different ways of doing things.
Moved and haven't got my sewing room( she-shed) up and going and reading this find you are stepping down.. Natalie and Misty are awesome... just a shout out to Natalie..you look amazing.
Thank you Jenny & Natalie for showing how to square blocks and make bias binding using a regular ruler in addition to what specialty rulers are available. Many of us don't have some of the specialty rulers especially new quilters. I love the scalloped borders and you take the mystery out of making bias binding and how to sew it to scallops. Great video and I love this quilt❣️
Definitely one of the best shows I’ve seen from y’all talented girls. I bought the bias ruler and forgot how to use it. I’m glad I ran into this video. Keep up the great work.
I love this quilt so much! It’s such a happy pretty quilt; very feminine. Thank you so much for showing your scallop border and binding techniques. This was super fun and informative. I hope you all have a safe and wonderful weekend. ❤️
Faraway Florals fabric is gorgeous! It would be perfect for MSQC’s “Totally Tulips”🌷pattern, for which I’ve been waiting for the right fabric to make it. Love this pattern too! Thanks for taking the time to make this tutorial ❤
This pattwrn is also a good stashbuster for all kind of scraps. I truely love the idea of a scalloped border and the quiling idea of the pillow. I think even the quilting of that pillow would look gourgous on a quilt like this.
What a great tutorial!!!! Definitely going to miss you when you are gone. Thank you for showing the correct way to do scalloped edges. I have always wanted to do those, but I was scared of trying it. 🌹
Thank you for choosing this pattern to teach us!! I've had my eye on it - especially in these colors. And yes, it should be called " Happy". My thinking is the same too, 'give every color a chance for attention.' 💜
OMG I loved the pillow Natalie made. I have made a quilt with scallops before and it is so easy. It was intimidating at first but when you get down to actually making it, its not that hard. Try it!!! Thank you for sharing this lovely quilt pattern.
Thanks Natalie for showing us the alternative method with our ordinary quilters rulers.Going to miss you Jenny you have taught me soo much with your easy methods.
Love this quilt! And, at last, I finally see how to square using other rulers! Thank you Natalie! I have watched you do this in the past but it didn’t click in my brain until now!😂😂
Hello Jenny and Natilie. This was a fun video. I have a ton of fat quarters and am excited to make this. I have been trying to figure out what to my for my sister in-law and thought wow, what a wonderful gift idea. I like the idea of the bag because I can make a quilt and place it in the bag. I can also make some pillows. You gave me some wonderful projects. Thank you to you both. I appreciate you both so much.
Wow - these are always great but this one is extra! Sew so many tips and shared ideas to make this project! Even one blocks gives lots of options. THANK YOU!
I just ordered 5 yards of a pale green that matches my wall. I have a box of teal and green batik leftovers and want to make this quilt I may add a bit of purple. Thank you, beautiful ladies!
That quilt is in the Block magazine Spring Vol. 1 Issue 2 from 2014. It's called Magic Diamonds. It's made with 3 inch HST's, so it is 59"x79". Thank you Jenny and Natalie for this great update of a great pattern!!
Hi there, reading your new book, fabulous! Love the pictures, Nathan has not changed her beautiful smile since she was little. Great book again. Love your tutorials!
Love the scalloped border! I bought the template a couple years ago and never used it. I think I’m going to try it finally;) Thank you both for another great video full of tips.
Natalie &Jenny; When you use the rulers esp. the “clearly perfect slotted” if you set the triangle with the point headed to the right side (Jenny’s to the left) and square … one is not cutting backwards. Both angles are headed away from your body. Just step to the side and trim!
Thank you Jenny and Natalie. I absolutely adore this quilt. Natalie, your pillow embroidery is so fun. Thank you again for your wonderful instructions.
Beautiful quilt, thanks for showing us your hack Jenny on sewing them together. That pillow is awesome, love how the straight stitch just makes it look so fancy. Great job ladies!
Very pretty. Natalie, I loved how you "told on yourself" about the missing square & making a beautiful pillow...great idea. So cute. I I really like the binding ruler, I struggle getting the angles going the right way when stitching the strips together. Watching from Ontario Canada.
I always love your tutorials... This one is no exception.. The only thing I would change though is the demo on the binding and the sample border be 2 different colors. That way I could see what the bias binding was doing as Jenny sewed it down on the sample. Love the colors in the quilt. Always enjoy watching you two work together. And thanks for showing 2 different ways to square a HST's and cutting bias binding. ♥♥
Natalie thank you for sharing an alternative method for rulers. Not everyone can afford a ruler for every project. I love the pillow!
Yes, to all the above!!
@@bethkoch11
I did a binding on a Double Wedding Ring. That was a challenge!!
@@bethkoch11I use Natalie's tips all he time, she's a gem.
Jenny, how are we going to make it without your smile and enthusiasm and quilting knowledge every week? It’s going to be a LONG TWO YEARS!!!
Hey, the girls are doing just GREAT. Jenny needs the break as she's been at it for sew long. She taught the Girls well. ❤ Them all.
I totally agree! Her presence brings the enthusiasm. The girls are great, they're just not Jenny.
@UndertheNeedle282
What is happening?
Jenny, Natalie, and Misty are you using a pencil to mark with, and how do I stop my rulers, & Template's from moving, while I cut the block piece's out ?
Nat, i love how you help your mama. God Bless you honey
I love, love, the color of your Oliso iron...it's so cheerful.
I agree. Natalie has really been a great helper. I love how they all support each other. On a side note, Natalie, you have inspired me to get to a healthier weight and grow my confidence. 🎶💐💖🫂
Jenny, we will miss you, but I’m so glad that Misty and Natalie are going to step in!! They will do a terrific job! Oh, and love the Summer Quilt!
And the gift of a pillow! Well done, Natalie!
Cheers! ~M
Thankyou for this tutorial. I love scalloped borders. I will miss you Jenny but you are leaving it in VERY CAPABLE HANDS,
I always reckon my weekend in England, starts with a cup of coffee and watching your tutorials, it somehow makes getting through Friday at work much easier! This one has been just fabulous, thank you.

LOTS of great tips here. Thanks Jenny and Natalie!!! I’m saving this for my next .and First scalloped border. Woohoo 🎉
Yayyy!! We cannot wait for you to quilt your first scalloped quilt. Hope you find Jenny's tips especially helpful while you're creating.
Another beautiful quilt and that pillow is so cute. Thanks Jenny & Natalie.
I love the embroidery on the pillow, Natalie. ❤❤❤
I've seen lots of cutting bias binding for quilts and cut it but this is a much easier system. The other methods left me so scared to start cutting and possibly ruining my fabric. I'll use this method now. Great video. Quilt block, scalloped edges and bias binding. Thank you.
I love your scalloped with your rulers- sonpretty!

I used the tube method too, easier than sewing a bunch of strips together too
Love the quilt and cushions , beautiful colours.
Love the hand detail on the matching cushion! ADORE this quilt, and best ever tutorial on a scalloped edge and binding. Have only ever made bias for applique. Great quilt. Hugs, Chel 🌸
Scallop border + floral prints = instant cottage core!
TOTALLY! Scallop border + floral prints + Jenny & Natalie = 😍😍😍

Oh wow, that scalloped binding looks better than my usual straight binding.

#2 seems to be my number. Exciting to see a new video. Happy sewing!
Looks pretty similar in the end like summer in the park. Love it❤
Definitely one of the best shows I’ve seen from y’all talented girls. I bought the bias ruler and forgot how to use it. I’m glad I ran into this video. Keep up the great work.
I love square up rulers and have them in almost every size from 1-1/2” all the way up to 20”x20”!!!! But I also have the Clearly Perfect rulers, too!
I just love your show .it is the best learning video.no one does it completely like you do.great
I love this quilt so much! It’s such a happy pretty quilt; very feminine. Thank you so much for showing your scallop border and binding techniques. This was super fun and informative. I hope you all have a safe and wonderful weekend. ❤️
I have that scallop tool but have never had the courage to actually try it. Maybe now I can.
Faraway Florals fabric is gorgeous! It would be perfect for MSQC’s “Totally Tulips”🌷pattern, for which I’ve been waiting for the right fabric to make it. Love this pattern too! Thanks for taking the time to make this tutorial ❤
I love the green and the dark gray large print. The colors just pop on the darker colors.
I hope you will be safe where you are going, we sure will miss you. Natalie and Missy do a great job. They are amazing.
I love the perfectly slotted trimmer!
This pattwrn is also a good stashbuster for all kind of scraps.
I truely love the idea of a scalloped border and the quiling idea of the pillow. I think even the quilting of that pillow would look gourgous on a quilt like this.
That embellishment with the embroidery is super!
Love the quilt. The 'bonus' pillow was absolutely charming and I love how the love between Jenny and Natalie shines through.
Love that scalloped border😍

Two amazing quilters❤ Thank you sharing your tutorial ❤

I love the "2 and cut and 2 and cut"! Genius! I always love you have a new twist on something and you explain things so well. Thank you!
I love this pattern! The fact that it’s so scrappy you could also do it with four charm packs. I’m going to give this one to go!😊
loved the tutorial as always! Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication over the years! We are grateful for you :)
Love this quilt! And, at last, I finally see how to square using other rulers! Thank you Natalie! I have watched you do this in the past but it didn’t click in my brain until now!😂😂
Great idea for the pillow Natalie!!
Beautiful quilt! Natalie I love how you elevate the projects by adding embroidery ❤ that pillow is adorable!
My favorite quilt patterns are the ones that create secondary patterns.
You guys are so great together!!

This video came out right in time for me! I was just about to start figuring out how to do scalloped binding 🥰
Perfect timing. Have sew much fun with your scalloped binding!

Absolutely beautiful!
Natalie you are so creative. I love this quilt & the pillow is perfect to go with it.
This is another beautiful quilt & a bonus of a great pillow idea. You & Natalie are the best.

Thank you for this free pattern! And you make it look like it goes together very quickly.
Beautiful quilt, I enjoyed this video.
The binding is fanstastic and not so difficult to realise. The cushion is beautiful too
Thank you
You make it look so easy and efficient! Beautiful fabric collection!
Love the quilt and pillow! ❤
Love this. The pillow is so cute. Those fabrics are beautiful!
The entire quilt would look awesome hand quilted with the running stitch too.
This quilt is stunning
I always love your tutorials... This one is no exception.. The only thing I would change though is the demo on the binding and the sample border be 2 different colors. Such a pretty quilt.❤
I bought the Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmer and I can't go back. It's so amazing making half the cuts!
Thank you for lots of new knowledge. Love this quilt!
I love it! Your pillow is so sweet!!!

Excellent tutorial lovely ladies!
You have removed the mystery of scalloped borders and i love the way you two work together.
Lovely quilt❤
Thank you so much for the different squaring techniques ❤
I followed Natalie’s tutorial from years ago and loved the results. Thank you from Australia ❤
Love this quilt!! It is so pretty and happy. However, half square triangles are my least favorite things to make!!
HSTs are my favorite things to make!
I'm with you. I can never get them to work. 😮
Wonderful job, ladies. I love it!
What a gorgeous quilt.
🎶💐💖🫂
such a happy, fun quilting video today! thank you Jenny and Natalie! ❤
I absolutely love this quilt. I’ve been wanting something “easy” that looks difficult and this is perfect. Also, lovely pillow cover, Natalie!!
So pretty and the pillow is darling!
Thank you Ladies, another great video. Now I’m feeling confident to do the scalloped boarder ❤
Hearing that you're feeling confident to do a scalloped border makes us sew, sew happy!
I love the Summer Season Quilt, and thanks for all the tips!
This was a joy to watch thank you 😊.
Such a beautiful quilt and sweet surprise pillow as well!
