Feel jelous on the people who actually got told by their parents that they have adhd and that it isnt their fault. I wondered what the hell was wrong with me and got yelled at for 17 years until i found out that i had adhd on my own
That is what my parents would exactly say , that's why I've been quiet about it . I've tried living with it and that might've been the worst decision I've ever made. As a result I couldn't focus even one bit on class and entrance exams are right around the corner and here I am , still distracted with zero portions covered.
@@sidshady7413 I’m so sorry brobro. You have to come out to someone, if your parents can’t help (or refuse, tho that is heartbreaking) there’s always someone who can and will. That’s why you gotta reach out to find them. Screw whoever that laughs at you. You were blessed with a different perspective and everyone thinks a little differently which makes us who we are, characteristically. I just hope you don’t think ur mind a burden like I did. I am wishing the best for you. I will say a quick prayer over you if that is ok I’m not trying to offend or anything, but I believe in my Elohim cuz He helped me and I just hope you get the help you need too :) Dear Father I thank you for this wonderful person. I pray that you help them come out and that they find a person who can help them with their studies, who can guide them through this without it being overwhelming or stressful. I pray for peace and happiness upon them that they don’t think of their “condition” as a burden but a blessing. You created us all differently, we are fearfully and wonderfully made, we are created in YOUR image and we’re made to be victorious. Give this person a victory and lead them through life with pride and joy. In Your wonderful name I pray. Amen. Tysm again I AM SO SORRY IF THIS OFFENDED YOU. That’s the last thing I want to do. I hope you have the best day ever and keep reaching out.
My adhd symptoms: Move hand left to right randomly Looks at any kind of light source with the left side of my vision Always itchy Struggling to sleep Struggling to focus with conversations Looks at mirror and talks to self Randomly changes subject of conversation Walks weirdly Always akward Edit: it's 2022 My adhd got worse to the point where I can't sleep unless I listen to asmr or any noisy sounds because I can't relax for some reason

I have ADHD and I'm so afraid that saying something impulsively could end up being hurtful or confusing, I decided to repress and filter my words. But it becomes so stressful that I would have mental breakdowns every now and then.
Hey. I'm 27 and just quit my job last December cause I think I'm not doing it well, I can't stay focus and I'm unorganized and also I always have hard times finishing my assignments tho I always finish it better than my other officemates. I always know I have anxiety, I act a bit different and sometimes awkward and I'm always restless. I can't always finish the things i thought I'm passionate about like paintings tho I'm an Artist. For the past few years, I'm always thinking that I'm just an introvert, or maybe bipolar or something but after some research I did myself, I'm suspecting I have ADHD. I hope I can go to a doctor to confirm it but not this time of pandemic.

I got diagnosed with ADHD since my teenage, used ADHD medications for years. I spent my whole life fighting ADHD. Also suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.
Congrats on your recovery. Most persons never realizes psilocybin can be used as a miracle medication to save lives. Years back i wrote an entire essay about psychedelics. they saved you from death bud, lets be honest here.
Can you help me with the reliable source. I'm 56 and have suffered for years with addiction, anxiety and severe ptsd, I got my panic attacks under control myself years ago and they have come back with a vengeance, I'm constantly trying to take full breaths but can't get the full satisfying breath out, it's absolutely crippling me, i live in Australia. I don't know much about these mushrooms. Really need a reliable source!! Can't wait to get them.
Ive done shrooms last month in my house. It taught me how severely traumatized I was from alcohol. I healed from many mental traumas from my past and was able to forgive, let go. Shrooms to me is a remedy not a vice. I even felt more refreshed the morning after. So no hangovers. No depression mood for days. No anxiety.I now have a more calm mind

looking at the good effects of psilocybin mushrooms on ADHD, I had a test, the effects of just one dose of psilocybin mushroom gave me an encouraging result.

As a child, I was always called lazy & careless. I was punished a lot, but no one ever considered ADHD. I’m 23 now, & finally realising that this is something I’ve struggled with all my life.
Agreed. The fact that it’s considered a mental disorder to not be able and sit down at a desk for 8 hours and work all day is pretty weird considering I’d think most everyone can relate to that; hence why so many people nowadays say they have adhd
yes and no, its not just difficulty doing things we dont like, like sitting in a job for 8 hours, but also difficulty actually improving skills we do like or holding conversations and stuff like that. More accomodations should be made in society, but a diagnosis, medication and coping strategies can really help
It IS a disorder. I had QEEG-measurements done on my brain and it is clearly visible that there are large portions of the prefrontal cortex, that is not working efficiently. It is measurable, and it is something that needs to be treated. Blaming the "standardized way of being" is like the whole body positivity movement, that embraces obesity as a different kind of beautiful. Its not beautiful to be obese just as the system is not at fault for opting to have a standardized way of testing and being. The only hole in the system is people not being informed enough about how to spot ADHD in early age. I'm 31 and only now will be getting a formal assessment. As a kid I was bullied and parents were dissapointed for me just being "lazy, too emotional and weird". They should have known and treated me accordingly. Just my two cents.
I'm 34 and successful in my career as a procurement team leader and just realised I have ADHD 😅 now I understand why I get so tired all the time to look normal... I always wonder why I had to use so much energy to get things done as fast as other people. No matter what you if want to get somewhere and improve, you can. You just need to put on the hard work 💪
Good for u and congrats for your successful, so I think it’s possible to have ADHD when you adult ?even though you weren’t in the past? Cuz i was really smart and on time and i can focus easily till the age 19 when I entered medical school after that I’m really down I have severe problems in focusing r, reading been hard to me as hell
@@azizm8240 Thanks for your reply. To be diagnosed with ADHD the doctor should find evidence of symptoms before the age of 12. Symptoms such as : forget things, having difficulty focusing, being disorganized, having short memory... Some studies say that intelligent people are able to cope with their ADHD, but when you grow up you have more responsibilities, more things to get done, more things to handle more things to remember...then things get more complicated and your intelligence is no longer enough to compensate. It doesn't mean that you are less smart, it just means that you need to put on more effort, energy or get some help to do things like other people

I'm 30 and just found out that I have ADHD combined. I was looking up why i never focus or pay attention. I've been this way since as long as i remember. At school i never paid attention or listened to what teachers say for more than the first few words, family and friends tell me I'm always lost in my own world and I tend to forget where I put stuff and what I was doing few minutes ago, I'm really smart in general but it takes much time for me to sort out thoughts and information in my head..... now my job requires my full attention and it's causing embarrassing problems for me, which is why I looked it up in the first place >_
I'm 34 and just found out I have adhd combined with social anxiety. I'm a smart person but I take time to process information . I also think I have both types of adhd combined . It's so frustrating and I get annoyed very quickly.
Aside from allowing me to control my ADHD, micro-dosing has made me a more positive person and it improved my attitude towards others, and myself my very first dose of the psychedelic mushroom helped improve his symptoms. I can help you with my therapy 🙂 if you dont mind Here is my email address - durcanjoshua84@gmail.com
Psychedelic's definitely have potential to deal with mental health symptoms like anxiety and depression, I would like to try them again but it's just so hard to source here.
Yes, that's right. I researched and found out that shrooms are very helpful, it has really helps to reduce anxiety and depression. I would love to try magic mushrooms but I can't easily get some, Is there any realiable source I can purchase one?
The trips I've been having have really helped me a lot, I finally feel in control of my emotions and my future and things that used to be mundane to me now seem incredible and full of nuance on top of that I'm way less driven by my ego and I have alot more empathy as well

I'm literally crying. My entire life I suffered from adhd that went untreated until I started doing psychedelics and feeling attuned too the world around me. Now I'm getting the help I needed for the longest time . I wish someone would have told me or seeked more help for me as a kid (besides putting me in a room with other "slow people") . I personally wasn't able to heal myself alone and would hide in a shell . It was so obvious to the people around me, the way I acted was painfully strange ... but i felt like it was impossible to change or be "normal" and I hated myself for this disability. But now I can tame it . Having control of my life as a young adult is very exciting !
Tbh I have ADHD and Autism and also anxiety. Earlier I was joking around with some people in a game but I went over and went to far by roasting them and I apologised but they didn't forgive me. I felt very bad since I didn't mean to hurt their feelings I have never seen my friends since I moved I can text them but that's it. I really missed my friends and that's why I'm always on my devices tbh When I told my mother she told me Because of my ADHD either way I still felt bad and wanted to kill myself until she mentioned that I could watch YT channels and talk to people about it and Oh how many people I relate to I also realised I never told them About my ADHD So uhh... yeah. But thank God I ain't alone
My friend had adhd and he passed away from it 😢💔 he passed away on January 4th 2023 just before his birthday and after New year's. Between New year's and his birthday. He passed away at the age of 31 he would've been 32 😥 was at his funeral today.
As a person with ADHD, another thing I hate is the anger issues that come with it I get angry at people for the stupidest reasons, and tend to almost wanna do crazy dark stuff to release it. Whenever I share these thoughts and stuff, the responses I get usually make me feel like I’m some sort of psychopathic horrible person. That’s why I almost never speak, or hang around people, too, because I’m insecure about what people think about me (and I’m also an introvert, and people think introverts are school shooters, adding to the responses I get when I share my thoughts) I also hate that kids think ADHD is some quirky personality trait, and crap like that, because it is NOT fun and cool to live with

I was diagnosed with ADHD and I still constantly get yelled at for being forgetful, distracted easily, etc etc. I lose a shit ton of things. Rn, as I'm typing this, I lost my anti depressants and I'm afraid to tell my mom so that's a plus since I know she'll get yelled at. My parents say, " ADHD isn't an excuse" or "don't blame it on your ADHD." It hurts.
same. i feel so bad bc i have a planner that i never really use. i’ll have something after school and i be super excited and forget i have hw and always regret it..
I was in your position my entire life. I used to lose things annoyingly often, especially my mobile phones. I am now 42 and I can tell you that you can work on this issue. It will never be completely fixed, but you can try different things to constantly bring your attention back to what you are doing in the moment. Do not use ADHD as an excuse, just be aware of it, don't blame yourself, BUT do something to help yourself.
I don't know if I have adhd but it very much feels like I do. It feels like its more inattentive though. I have no idea how to ask my mother about a diagnosis

I have ADHD as I was diagnosed around about 2-3 years ago, I always struggled to follow the class and do my own thing. I’d get into trouble because I didn’t ‘focus’ enough, although people say ADHD is a mental disorder, I personally think it’s a superpower with unimaginable personality
We do stuff in our own way. The one thing that o know for sure is that our live is always interestin because we get bored a loot soo we have a loot of knowledge about different stuff because we r interested in everything.
Don't worry guys your not the only one who has adhd. We are all here because we know this hurts deep inside and want to get ride of it but can't. We all suffered depression while we grew up and have the same feelings of wtf this is. I know how you feel. We all know how sad it is to have adhd :( whoever is reading this I just hope we all have a great life and good luck for the rest of our lives ❤
Too much focus on what this is, I think!! Just try and dance with it. Discover yourself and how you are wired. What works for you and what not, in what environments you excel and what are environments are detrimental. I used to work in hospitality and seen so many young people with ADHD struggling in jobs as waitering. Why would you insist working in an environment that is obviously making you struggle? Instead of expecting other people to work harder so you can have regular breaks and other types of support, and increase your anxiety anyway, wouldn't be easier to understand, what environment would be beneficial for you, allowing you to bring value to the workplace? We need a constructive approach.
I'm so glad that I found this video. For years now, I thought that I was some broken black girl with terrible anger issues & always alone. My mother thought the same thing as me. Now, I get to talk with my mother to look in with my doctor or my pediatrician. I know I need help, and I need it fast. I don't want to hurt myself and anybody else because of my actions that I can't control. Thank you, Psych Hub, for showing me what's finally wrong with me. Thank you so much.

It is very important to notice these symptoms as parents and get your kids diagnosed. Makes life a hell lot easier for the kid. My parents just thought wtf was wrong with me for my whole life and why the way they taught my sister wasn't working on me.
My parents just thought I was slow cause both of them are and I think my dad has adhd but doesn’t know and my mom claims she’s a little slow because when she was a baby she was losing oxygen or something like that. So they never considered I could have it
my symptoms | constantly fidgeting , acting without thinking , being unable to concentrate on tasks , having a short attention span and being easily distracted , making careless mistakes - for example, in schoolwork and appearing forgetful or losing things
I knew a kid with ADHD (I also have ADHD) and before he was diagnosed he committed crimes all the time. He was truant from school, did drugs, got arrested, committed theft and burglary, got into fights all the time and said he wanted to die. I talked to him and he told me he didn’t know what was wrong with him. He could never focus, he was overactive, and super impulsive. Over time he became so angry. Eventually he got diagnosed with ADHD and he liked having me as a friend because I understood him as I have the same disorder. He’s doing so much better now. Also I never committed crimes I just had school and relationship problems.
Рік тому+2
ADHD is not an excuse to go around doing these crimes. That's just his parents failing to teach him good morals
this is such a relatable story. I suffer from ADHD and so did my old best friend. Unfortunately, my friend never managed to understand his disorder completely because his mother passed away and his dad never really cared for him. Although he managed to get diagnosed, he only saw it as a learning difficulty. I remember throughout our first few years of high school we would always sit at the back of class and laugh at stupid things and always get put into the special classes for tests and exams and all that. We never maliciously distracted the class or anything we just found it impossible to concentrate and teachers never seemed to understand. As we got older our ADHD symptoms began to get worse and we were both doing dumb shit such as hanging out with the wrong crowd, drinking heavily and smoking weed and all that but thankfully I began to get a grip because I realised that all those issues that I was trying to cover were just my ADHD and I started taking medication for it. Unfortunately for my friend, he only began to get worse and he began to hyperfocus on negative things such as crime and drugs and he dropped out of school all together. Now he is doing harder drugs and is on a bad path. I hope that someday he gets better because he was truly my best friend and we could both just read each other so well. I rarely hear from him nowadays but he is always posting drugs and weapons on his instagram
but do you have favorite subjects that you find so easy? I don't know if I have ADHD tho. No one in my class can beat me in our Science subject when I was in gradeschool and highschool but I'm also always one of the worst students when it comes to math and subjects that I hate tho I always tried to study hard.

Same and my school is a scam. my dad just paid my school yesterday and they said where is the reception paper and my dad give to them yesterday and they said no and it's the same worker from yesterday and my dad remember that he have some pictures or proof and so they accept it
It's sad and comforting that schools struggles with this. I get remarks by 3rd quarters of school years for being talkative. I generally could hold it at first since im quite shy, but once its gone, im a radio plugged all day. This was 2005
ANNABELL CANNON I understand completely what you’re saying but for our own sanity we have to keep positive and not to beat ourselves up when having a bad day. Took me over a month to clean my room but I did eventually. You took what I said the wrong way it’s not to invalidate any of our emotions but to find peace with who we are. Follow @thirdeyethoughts @thespirtualpath @vybesource has really helped me the last few months
Don't I did, and it change me so much I hate. I started taking it again, cause I was struggling in all of my classes, but never do it affects you in negative ways
I had combined symptoms as a kid, i was inattentive in class pretty much all the time, but when the teachers asked me to answer a question, i always had the correct response, because my brain's hyperactivity kept me in the loop with what's going on around me, i was a straight A student, and that's why i wasn't diagnosed as a child.
What’s crazy is that I found out I had my ADHD because I would talk excessively to people and I would not stop talking and I’d get called annoying everyday, this is a sign of ADHD; you constantly think and speak.
Sometimes when I'm reading a book after I finish my work and class l zone out and the teacher will be halfway through something else and I'll just be like "whats happening, what are we doing?!" and then I kind of panic and I feel like I'm going to start crying. But a pro to that is that I can finish Books very quickly. I have the Combined ADHD type.
I’m 25 and just now I’m realizing I might have adhd, my whole childhood and teenage years I was told by family that I was lazy and sadly it got internalized in me
Don't really know anyone with ADHD, but my sister has dyslexia and it also makes it really hard for her to do well in school which gets her frustrated. Sucks that regardless of disorders people always blame it on work ethic or laziness.
I can relate with dyslexia. I didn’t really understand the I had it until my 9 year was diagnosed with it. Would’ve been helpful in my life if I hadn’t learned about it until I was 37. Dyslexia is a blessing and curse at the same time. I wish your sister the best of luck!
I have combined ADHD. I walk nonstop in class every break time, I struggle to sleep, I have struggle sleeping at night, I always turn my attention to other things during class, etc. This is really a pain in the ass for me.

I’m 20 years old and I now realize that I have ADHD. I grew up with Asian parents who don’t believe ADHD is like a “real thing”. They thought it would lead to like healthcare bills and thought it was like voodoo and shit, when I was younger. I went to private school and felt so guilty that I had to get good grades to impress my parents. In the end, I just want to let people know that it ok to seek help even if you are raised by strict parents.
My friend told me today that might have ADHD i opened this video to learn about and even watching it i lost focus so manytimes one word or visual took me into my own imagination untill i realised and got back to it
I came from a video saying only ppl w adhd can unfocus their eyes on command and I can do that but I'm not diagnosed so idk I also dont exactly know wut adhd is even by being in high school
I had a bit of both worlds... My parents understood and knew how to care for me with ADHD and procured everything they could to make me feel loved and happy, but my teachers at school practically would bully me using me as a bad example, refusing to expñin something if i didn't pay attention, and even going as far as saying "havent you taken your meds today?". They were complete assholes, but at least i could escape them when i got home to the warmth of my parent's love. It' not your fault that you're like this, and even though you try as hard as you can you still can't appear normal... I feel so bad for those whoose parents didn't understand....
I think its normal to have these symptoms to some degree. But what I just discovered recently for myself is that every adhd symptom is literally what I struggle with everyday all the time. I loose my handy at least 5 times everyday same with the remote, i can never bring myself to do homework on time and when theres deadlines i can never bring myself to start even 1 day earlier than the day before the deadline (if at all). When i try to listen in class my mind will take over and suddenly im watching some kind of "mind movie" and my senses (hearing seeing) just fade away without my controll even if I try for this not to happen!! Im making an appointment for a proper diagnose now. this would explain so much. Edit: I got diagnosed and meds made all of this go away its like only half of all information from the outside world was reaching my brain and now im at 100 like it should be. Also my mind shut up for the first time ever which was at first a very unfamiliar feeling but quickly became very calming when your brain isnt playing music or shooting a thousand thoughts at you all the time. When I first started the stimulating feeling was somewhat uncomfortable but that went away after about 2 weeks and now i only have the benefits. And yes that unbreakable wall of overcoming the what felt like before I was making a commitment to climb mount everest but in reality was doing homework or cleaning my room or taking the trash out, is no longer a thing its more like a mild inconvenience. At least thats what it allways was like for me beginning to do something took an enormous amount of mental energy (If i didnt want to do it) now i feel like its just the normal feeling of not wanting to do something but actually despite that being able to. In other words it changed my life for the better. The one downside is i do not get hungry at all until the evening but i was told that goes away after some months and taking medicine 1 hour after breakfast noch instantly after also helps a lot.
This is a relief to hear. A year ago I had wondered if I had adhd but never got much further than some baseline research. Like "oh, i really struggle with these symptoms lol" and brushed it off. Im now hopefully going to get diagnosed with inattentive because idk wtf i will do if I come back as neurotypical.
hello i have adhd and im only 16. ive been diagnosed since i was 5 and im very thankful that i knew what was going on with me from an early age. i have one vyvanse 200ml capsule in the morning which ive had for 2 years and i still struggle to eat during the day so sometimes the eating doesnt go away but i like to try and have little snacks through out the day. like a bag of chips aor a banana just so my body doesnt starve throughout the day. so i hope that will help a little and just pace yourself. going through medication is very challenging especially when it makes you feel like a numb robot. lots of love Alyssa..
As a child I now realize I suffered from this ailment. Was badly punished by both parents and teachers aike. Lost my confidence, and had nervous breakdowns at times. I contemplated sucide as a kid several times but failed miserably at that too.I was bullied by kids at school and bus alike.I gradually gathered back my confidence when I reached higher school and became the school captain. Gained more confidence by speaking to myself standing infront of the mirror. As days passed I became more better in public speaking. I am today successful in my career and have settled abroad. I thank god for the journey. The very people who wrote me off as an idiot with no brains today ask theor children and grandchildren to become like me. Feels good . I thank god for whatever I have achieved.
ADHD is literal pain... It disables sooo damn much functions such as logical thinking, ability to remember during work, frequent "outages" like ik where i am and everything but i cant think of anything for like minute and then it goes away and it also makes you mentally younger than your real age... ADHD is not just pain, its torture at this point.
My best friend has ADHD. As far as I remember when we were in school he couldn't sit on the chair without standing up every 5 seconds. He was fidgeting everytime he was talking about something exciting. He was really loud and talkative; he talked and gesticulated so much that after spending 10 minutes with him I was reallyyy tired 😅 But we know each other for over 15 years and I really don't mind that he acts like that, I like him for who he is and for what he does for me and other people :D
I jus jumped in to watch this video to find what ADHD is because my son who is 22 and going through the symptoms. While reading all comments my heart felt crying when I was a kid it was very hard to find someone with the issue but today thanks for the new technology and social networks half of the young population is suffering. All i want tell you young one there is to STAY AWAY from smoking, Sweet stuff, and artificiali beverages, make a schedule of good practice like fitness, healthy food and drinking at least 2l of water. Speak to your family and explain them, meet your doctor and get some help, before jumping to medicine try other therapies which works for you, search for good friends in your circle who can understand you before all search for the heavenly father and pray for him as he's the best person who can understand every single thing going in your mind. Love you all & take care.
To be honest, it is kind of a blessing and a curse, the blessing (for me at least) i'm good with my hands, so I usually do a lot of things when it comes to working with ya hands, body, etc. Curse tho, is that i'm dumb as shit when it comes to like being "booksmart" that's my curse, but fuck it, i'm unique so :D
Adhd may give you the super power to hyper focus. Sure it can be bad if not controlled but hey it makes you able to go through a whole pile as if it was nothing if your passionate.
@@kellychen8384 im 15 and i feel i like i have adhd. like when someone is teaching me something im not interested, my mind automatically thinks about other stuff that i like to learn. srsly its annoying
I didn't know ADHD was a thing, I was struggling since primary school and recently on my university for years but i managed to keep pushing myself to do everything last minute with thinking about i might trouble others if i didn't finish it. I told myself i wanna do this wanna do that, but at the end i lost my focus or forgot about what i wanna do next everytime. I can't stay still on my desk, i always disturb others by interrupt others, i can't wait for my turn, i can't focus on multiple tasks, i tried to change but i forget it after an hour. I couldn't tell anyone, i tried. Instead people and my family just think I'm lazy, spoiled or maybe i should just go get a job earn money and quit studying. I blame myself for everything, talking to myself, losing trust, lied, crying and eventually, i attempted suicide. I think i failed me and my family because I'm lazy. I didnt know what to do, i was frustrating, panicking, extremely scared of people scolding me for the problems that I'm aware and try to change many many many times since i was 7. I wanna continue my university because i wanna finish it, i like it. But my family and friends can't understand why am i still doing everything last minute even though i like it. I don't know, if i can control myself to do it i wouldn't be so upset about it, i wouldn't be isolated myself from people out of shame, i wouldn't be crying every night without getting sleep, i wouldn't let the stress crush me and attempted suicide. Until now i am still afraid of going for therapist, i don't know whether I'm just trying to make myself an excuse for being lazy. If anyone reads this until here, thank you. For trying to listen to me. Apologize for bad english as well.
Five months later but I seriously hope all is well. I can relate entirely to the way you feel. People always thought I was lazy. I felt like I wasn’t. I thought it was the opposite. I just had to work 10 times harder than others to do the same thing and no one seems to understand that. My advice to you is to seek therapy. Tell them how you really feel, not just emotionally but physically and mentally as well. Hopefully they can point you in the right direction. My life completely changed when I was diagnosed ADHD as an adult and put on medication.
Read it till finished, I just found out about me having ADHD today, hahahah. I thought it was me being lazy for not being able to focus in class, I didn't know it's a condition. Thank God for it, it feels really special to be one. 😂
I understand everything except the attempted suicide part it can be very difficult I often have very similar issues even though I know about it I was five when I found out my parents tried to treat it medically wise I drop 40 pounds and wasn’t eating I remember these words specifically “what’s wrong with you” or stop being lazy or some other such thing projects and turning things in were hell not only that but social skills were also very hard on me still is really hehe and I remember the anxiety of being around others the pain of being alone for years fear of failure fear of not doing good enough. The anxiety of wondering if I was worth something The torment of trying to do right and and even if I did do everything right it felt shallow hollow even the self doubt and you know what worse I know what’s wrong and try to fix it that’s the Mantra that I repeat over and over fix it do better don’t be a burden don’t get in the way don’t speak what I really think about Do as your told and maybe I’d be able to look in my mirror and think that I wasn’t something worthless and that I’d have some value and not be looked at as some peace of shit you know or at least be able to look at my god and say i tried and I’m sorry and I’d still ask for forgiveness and to simply ask or rather hope he doesn’t hate me or maybe thinks lesser of me. I honestly feel tired and have a headache just writing this as well as having second thoughts about this.
I’m forgetful, unfocused, my parents, friends and teachers always says I must have a hearing problem cos most the time when they tells me something I’m zoned out and i zone in at the end and ask them to repeat what they said, especially when everyone starts laughing to a joke, I just laugh along pretending I heard the joke, I have trouble sleeping, I fidget a lot and sadly it’s having an effect on me in High school.
Thank you for sharing this, it helps me understand my friend more. I snap at her when she misinterprets what I say. I believe she has ADD & her diet doesn't help. She eats too much sugar and l believe her brain lacks enough healthy fats. She's 67, I don't think she's ever been diagnosed.
I got combined. Got diagnosed by 5 so I got medicine at first it was hard but then I learned how to work hard. If you have any form of ADHD don’t let it hold you back you have the power and ability to succeed
I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was in 3rd grade, at first me and my family were convinced it's alright until I started not focusing in school, even going as far as throwing rocks on other kids cuz they "annoyed" me. Yeah. Then I think at around 5th grade I started taking medication, and I felt able to concentrate and was a "good boy"(more like a robot). But with that came alot of down sides. I'll start from least bad to worse. Stomache aches, no appetite, difficulty to sleep, headaches, stress, anxieties, social anxiety, depression. Then a few years later(at around 7th grade) I stopped taking my medicines. Okay, so does that mean I stopped feeling those symptoms? No, infact I was becoming more aware of it, and they stuck with me for a few years. I used to have this non stopping pain in the back of my head, bad thoughts, heck, at one point I was even suicidial(had thoughts, tried to choke myself with my pillow almost every night, sometimes when nobody was home, I used to look at the drawer with the knives, but I never dared picking one up because I didn't know what I might do), then I got a social worker, and like any teenager, I was anti. Then I got introduced to some place, some sort of place a handful of other kids in about the same situation as me went to this place. (Note: until that point I kept trying to convince myself I don't need friends, and I don't want it). I wanted change. I got change. Drastic change. The pain in the back of my head stopped, making me feel elated at all times, appreciating life, I started wanting a social life, started to think outside my little bubble. Now I'm in the military, still working on my social life, I have a few friends, look at things more objectively. I'm 18 now btw. What I'm trying to say is sometimes everything a person needs is some people who understand him. Or something along that lines. Don't put all your hopes in medicine. Good luck, whatever ur going through.

I have ADHD predominately inattentive type. The ways that it affects my life are too many to list here. I always knew that I was different than other people. When I was a kid, I thought that other people were just better than me. I was on medication for a couple years and I excelled. My parents decided after a year or two that the medication had too much of an effect on my personality. They thought they were changing me into a different person but really they provided me with an opportunity to be the person that I wanted to be. I know they just wanted what they thought was best for me but immediately after, I think in 6th grade, my problems started all over again. Through my adolescent years I had difficulty in school, sports, relationships, and even doing things that I enjoyed doing. After high school I joined the military. Adjusting was noticeably much more difficult for me. I didn’t have the attention to detail others had. I couldn’t make my bed as fast, remove as many discrepancies from my articles of clothing, execute drill movements as easily, approach obstacles with the same determination, etc. People thought that I was lazy and I was quickly ostracized. Idk why but for some reason the most productive and skilled peers I had always seemed to see something different in me because those people would befriend me. I was very fortunate for that because those friends got me through the first few years of my service. Eventually my wife convinced me to go back to the doctor about my ADHD but I was worried because ADHD is a bit problematic in the military and they only recently began treating members without giving them the boot. I was pleasantly surprised by the care that my doctor provided me. Once I began my medication it was like seeing the world for what it actually is for the first time. I can’t describe it in any other way other than feeling perfectly average. Due to the years of dealing with my symptoms, I had developed a great work ethic and it was always my strong point. That combined with my newfound clarity completely repaired my previous reputation as being unreliable, slow, and inattentive. I became the most utilized person in my shop. My superiors finally respected me and asked me to work on projects I never believed they would trust me with. Then I had a major life change. I moved to another country. I began to feel off and was having panic attacks. Most of the time I thought something was physically wrong with me. But my doctor told me that my health was excellent and that as young and healthy as I was that I shouldn’t worry. Unfortunately another doctor advised me to stop my medication for now because it could have been exacerbating my anxiety. So I did and things got worse. Things got so out of control that I forgot about the fact that I wasn’t a neurotypical person to begin with and I started to blame my problems on other people. I became paranoid, delusional, and depressed. All these things happening while being far from home. I ended up being treated by a mental health facility were I was diagnosed with GAD/MDD and given medication tailored to that. Things got a little better but they didn’t become close to normal until I remembered that I had ADHD and things didn’t get bad until I stopped being treated for that. So I got back on and have been feeling a lot better since. My guess is that having ADHD made me particularly vulnerable to a major life change like moving to a foreign country. In any case, I just wanted to get the point across that ADHD is very real and has complicated my life in many ways. Most 28 year old people of my socio-economic status don’t have the problems that I do. I’m different and if you have ADHD, so are you and you should seek some kind of treatment for it. Whether that treatment is medicinal or behavioral therapy or a combination of both. I really don’t know if I said what I wanted to, I got lost so I guess I’ll end the rant here.

As someone who got diagnosed with ADHD its tough, ADHD came with other problems such as anxiety, overthinking, (for me) it took me 7 years to get diagnosed, I was pushed away from my teachers, complaining that I was fine. And got neglected from learning, purely because I couldn't concentrate. I feel like having ADHD is a superpower, with my medication I can actually learn things really fast, and understand things better and quicker than others.

What medication do you take? I’m really struggling to focus and I can’t sleep. My brain races and I can’t commit to or stay focused on tasks. It’s driving me crazy
I don't understand what other people say, and sometimes I think that people do their task easier and I think it's hard, everytime my math teacher arrives on my classroom I always get bored and always get low marks, and till now I still don't know how to answer mathematics, and I'm not saying that I have this ADHD I'm just sharing what I thought everyday. I hope the people that have ADHD will heal soon. ♥
2:29 I was diagnosed ADHD when was a child, my parents and I didn't know a lot about . I always feel diferent from others kids and even now. People don't like me because they think I'm not interrested by what they saying or they think I'm just mean... I'm happy to find that I'm not alone who feels the same.💜💜
My parents never cared to help me, even when the symptoms were showing right in front of them. They kept brushing it off, thinking that it was just a phase and that I was either doing this for attention or that I just didn't care when I obviously did. So all 19 years of my life, I've been yelled at for something I can't help. So pretty much found out I have ADHD on my own and never got the diagnosis and help I really needed. I pretty much grew up, thinking that there's something wrong with me and that It's all my fault.

i’ve been thrown under the bus by my whole school and my school gives me no help for adhd in class, personally I know people with adhd can make it in the world but in most cases your gonna need a lot of help from other people, sadly some people don’t get that help from others and are left with no help, I know from personal experience that adhd can completely ruin people’s jobs and their future all because nobody helped them. So if you know someone with adhd, pay attention to them and help them out, their gonna need it in the long run
At 40 year old is the cat i realized i got adhd i always thought i might but i definitely suffered all the symptoms since kid, never diagnosed nor treat that why i was so impulsive and it made me commit a lot of mistakes this honestly made me cry because now i understand that lil kid and really fell sorry for him life had made me stronger and wise i wouldn’t change anything cause here I am thank God still thriving and alive. 🙏🏽
I have adhd. I told my mom about it and she said adhd only appears in adults and laughed. I told my dad about it as well. He said he used to have adhd but i didn’t show any of the symptoms he had. I told them again. They still didn’t listen. In 9th grade, my grades dropped from an a+ to a d. My parents were frustrated with me. They said I had so much potential, but I wasn’t trying hard enough. The next month, I forgot my moms birthday. She was very upset. I also lost my phone. I had 13 missing assignments. I started biting my nails. My parents were so confused why I was like this all of a sudden. Yet they still wouldn’t take me to the doctor. What do they want from me? My dreams literally went from Harvard to getting a C on my next exam. Now my self esteem is rolling in the dirt, I’m stuck with an iPhone 5, 13 assignments, and adhd.
Omg I have ADHD too and it gets frustrating sometimes. When I’m doing homework or assignments I always get so frustrated and confused and I have a lot of trouble focusing on class work and I get distracted a lot and I also get extremely hyperactive and I do kind of blurt out and interrupt. I also tend to cry when I’m really mad and frustrated and it’s something I found out I had when I was really young and most of my friends didn’t even know I had it.
I'm a teen rn and I'm starting to suspect I have ADHD because i have most of the symptoms. I'm gonna get it checked tomorrow and I'm glad that there's therapy to help me in case I do have ADHD 🙂
I have ADHD and I was born with it. And I like math and I like that I’m different, just be proud and grateful of who you are. You where made perfectly, even if you don’t think so. Times can be hard at school with ADHD and you keep constantly getting in trouble. I am really hyper and lose my attention a lot. I also retaliate when I am being bullied or me getting mad. I am violent when I am mad and I got suspended for punching a kid, I am not proud of that. But I try my best. I am proud of who I am, and you should to.
Thank you for taking the first step and expressing your struggle. We want you to know you are not alone in how you feel. We hope you will check out the links to the resources in the description box for where to learn more and where to get treatment and support.
Adhd sometimes can work as a advantage depending on the job you have like I have to check receipts at Walmart and sometimes I’m able to see things that people without adhd don’t see but adhd is usually a disadvantage vyvanse definitely helps balance me out
ADHD can be quite interesting. I don't know if true or not but people with ADHD are more creative because of their endless thoughts and ideas (from what I am assuming).
It is a great video! I know that something is wrong with me, since the school period I’ve been experiencing attention deficit and hyperactivity, my teachers when asking a question were always like: “why are you flying over the clouds?!”, I do have problems expressing myself, forming a normal and mature-alike sentences though I love my deducted thoughts while they’re written or unannounced. I am 20 already, barely got a friend or two, I cannot frankly go with the world around, like I am a total Tom boy, having no interest in what people in my age seek to have, which ofc affects my connections and steps toward success/productivity. Besides, I feel that I am not concerning that enough to sound like a 20 y.o. person. My speaking and communication skills are really weak. Because of that, people think I am that one girl, having no interest, bad grades and bad sense of humor, argumenting or whatever. Meanwhile I do always show highest scores at uni, I’ve got even funded by the national scholarship, traveled in 5 countries on my own with my achievement and still, I really struggle a lot with it. The funny thing is, I do have an ability for masking, I mask a lot, sometimes I can mask being the coolest one around (before it is becoming exhausting), meanwhile due to my communication problems I say stuff, that people find so sarcastic, then they think I am such a bad-ass. I like that part of life haha, meanwhile I’m the only one knowing I struggle a lot behind all of this. Mental health is not even a thing in my country, so no doubts I have not got diagnosed so far.
My adhd is so bad, while watching this video I checked my email, read the comments, drew a face, watched another video, fiddled my thumbs and stared outside until I realized the video wasn't playing anymore, now I have to watch it again
I have just realised that this is what's wrong with one of my students. I feel bad for not treating the right way I considered him a trouble maker while he might have been someone with ADHD

I even felt more refreshed the
morning after. So no hangovers. No
depression mood for days. No anxiety.I now

As a child, I was always called lazy & careless. I was punished a lot, but no one ever considered ADHD. I’m 23 now, & finally realising that this is something I’ve struggled with all my life.

Can we stop blaming ADHD and start blaming the system for trying to have us conform to a standardized way of being
Agreed. The fact that it’s considered a mental disorder to not be able and sit down at a desk for 8 hours and work all day is pretty weird considering I’d think most everyone can relate to that; hence why so many people nowadays say they have adhd
Amen
yes and no, its not just difficulty doing things we dont like, like sitting in a job for 8 hours, but also difficulty actually improving skills we do like or holding conversations and stuff like that. More accomodations should be made in society, but a diagnosis, medication and coping strategies can really help
Amen!
You just need to put on the hard work 💪
How do u realised u have adhd ?

Having control of my life as a young adult is very exciting !
i also have adhd and the worst thing is i am very mixed and complex

As a person with ADHD, another thing I hate is the anger issues that come with it
I get angry at people for the stupidest reasons, and tend to almost wanna do crazy dark stuff to release it. Whenever I share these thoughts and stuff, the responses I get usually make me feel like I’m some sort of psychopathic horrible person.
That’s why I almost never speak, or hang around people, too, because I’m insecure about what people think about me (and I’m also an introvert, and people think introverts are school shooters, adding to the responses I get when I share my thoughts)
I also hate that kids think ADHD is some quirky personality trait, and crap like that, because it is NOT fun and cool to live with

Rn, as I'm typing this, I lost my anti depressants and I'm afraid to tell my mom so that's a plus since I know she'll get yelled at.

We need a constructive approach.
i am cryinggggg

Here are my symptoms. Easily distracted, always fidgeting, forgetfulness, I have trouble completing tasks 100%, trouble focusing, always lost in thoughts.

Same exact thing I get mad at myself for not focusing on school work cause I get lost in thought and get distracted easily. It is frustrating when you start to get a bad grade

Thanks for sharing your personal experience! What brought you to our video!?
ADHD is not an excuse to go around doing these crimes. That's just his parents failing to teach him good morals
@ yeah he didn’t have good parents at all. They neglected him
this is such a relatable story.
Maybe. Or it might be his beliefs and motives.

but do you have favorite subjects that you find so easy? I don't know if I have ADHD tho.

Same! I also procrastinate and turned in things very late because I needed more time to process things, still got As on tests

So did u took meds now bro?
Exact same with me and I just discovered it right now. I think instead of telling my parents I'll try resolve it on my own.
It's something, parents weren't known in their teens. But still, those with open-minded parents are lucky.
My friend told me today that might have ADHD i opened this video to learn about and even watching it i lost focus so manytimes one word or visual took me into my own imagination untill i realised and got back to it
When your adhd wont even let you pay attention to this video:
I'm reading comments during video.
I'm not saying i have adhd but I do the same thing every time I watch a video and idek y lol
I came from a video saying only ppl w adhd can unfocus their eyes on command and I can do that but I'm not diagnosed so idk I also dont exactly know wut adhd is even by being in high school
Most of the time I only read comments
I had a bit of both worlds...
My parents understood and knew how to care for me with ADHD and procured everything they could to make me feel loved and happy, but my teachers at school practically would bully me using me as a bad example, refusing to expñin something if i didn't pay attention, and even going as far as saying "havent you taken your meds today?". They were complete assholes, but at least i could escape them when i got home to the warmth of my parent's love.
It' not your fault that you're like this, and even though you try as hard as you can you still can't appear normal...

As someone who is yet to be officially diagnosed, even just understanding the signs has made a big difference to the way I handle my day to day
I think its normal to have these symptoms to some degree.
What meds are you on?

You're telling me this is ADHD?Its not normal?Do I have ADHD?I feel confused because most or all are relatable...you don't say
I have the inattentive one.
Diagnosed last year at 28 years old.

I have adhd I cant even pay attention to a conversion
My best friend has ADHD. As far as I remember when we were in school he couldn't sit on the chair without standing up every 5 seconds. He was fidgeting everytime he was talking about something exciting. He was really loud and talkative; he talked and gesticulated so much that after spending 10 minutes with him I was reallyyy tired 😅 But we know each other for over 15 years and I really don't mind that he acts like that, I like him for who he is and for what he does for me and other people :D
Aw
I wish I never had ADHD.
Denneh bro being unique isn’t going to pay bills lol
@Obamas BBC "made up mental illness" ok bud.
Apologize for bad english as well.
you did great. i hope you will get help soon :)
Well done. You did great! Don’t give up.
The anxiety of wondering if I was worth something
The torment of trying to do right and and even if I did do everything right it felt shallow hollow even the self doubt and you know what worse I know what’s wrong and try to fix it that’s the Mantra that I repeat over and over fix it do better don’t be a burden don’t get in the way don’t speak what I really think about
Do as your told and maybe I’d be able to look in my mirror and think that I wasn’t something worthless and that I’d have some value and not be looked at as some peace of shit you know or at least be able to look at my god and say i tried and I’m sorry and I’d still ask for forgiveness and to simply ask or rather hope he doesn’t hate me or maybe thinks lesser of me.
This is me bruh, I want to get tested but it’s so expensive
I think I might have it I have all the Symptoms said too
Do not self-diagnose. Seek a professional.
Every time I go to school and feel smart there’s always someone smarter...

Thank you for sharing your lived experience. By sharing what you’ve gone through, others know that they aren’t alone and that recovery is possible. For support and resources, the NAMI National Warmline Directory is a great resource, unlike a hotline for those in immediate crisis, warmlines provide early intervention with emotional support that can prevent a crisis - and a more costly 911 call or ER visit. The lines are typically free, confidential peer-support services staffed by volunteers or paid employees who have experienced mental health conditions themselves. Thank you for sharing. My daughter has been diagnosed with ADHD at 11 years old and your experience helps me understand what she is going through and what challenges could lie ahead for her. I am really trying to understand what ADHD is so that we can help her at home. I'm shocked by the diagnosis because she is VERY smart, creative, kind, calm and polite - but she struggles to focus in class and is constantly distracted at school.
I feel jelous for the people that were told they had ADHD. I was yelled at and hated for years and years. Didn't get me medication or anything. Life is just very very hard now.

Thank you for sharing your lived experience. If you need any resources we hope you will check out the links in the description box for where to learn more and where to get treatment and support.
Sometimes I wish I could heal ...

Is it what some adhd kids do
I used to use them as fingerboards
I thought I was the only one, I use to play with my pencils and my glasses
i’ve been thrown under the bus by my whole school and my school gives me no help for adhd in class, personally I know people with adhd can make it in the world but in most cases your gonna need a lot of help from other people, sadly some people don’t get that help from others and are left with no help, I know from personal experience that adhd can completely ruin people’s jobs and their future all because nobody helped them.
Are you okay?Hope you are doing good.
What happened. How did the test go. Please share
Every time I see things with adhd I’m always like wtffff they are actually describing me
It is a great video!
