This looks like what you and your buddies cook at 1:30 am after coming home from the bar and whatever is left in the fridge gets tossed together cuz everyone has the munchies. I moved to NYC in 1980. On East 88th Street between 2nd and 1st Ave. A Jackson Hole was on 2nd and 84th. i would sit at the counter and get a Balduni Burger. Medium rare, cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms. Fries. A bowl of pickles and a Heinekens. Oh boy. The best. I had a million of them. They moved down the street a couple of years later to open a larger, cooler location. Took many people there. They all loved it. Would love to have one right now. The video does not do them justice but nice to see.
I don't enjoy putting everything edible in the burger to make it look big and appetising, it's good as it is. Same goes for pizza, keep it simple, keep it delicious.
Agree a 100% like Bourdain said a Burger needs to be designed to grab everything in one bite. Patty, Lettece, Tomato, Onions and the chesse. Same gorda for the pizza, plain mozzarellla sílice is the way to go
I go way back with Jackson Hole. Used to eat at the one on 86th and Columbus Ave. There's another one on 60-something street on the east side that I also frequented. I discovered this one on 35th by doing a google search. I had not had a JH burger in about 20 years and got the hankering for one. The minute I tasted it I knew I was at JH. JH burgers have remained consistently good and they have that familiar JH taste. When visiting NY years ago I happen to wander into Jackson Hole to try their food. I ordered a regular cheeseburger (nothing fancy) and sat at the counter watching the cook make my burger and talking with him, he was super nice and my cheeseburger was simply amazing !!!! Without question, one of the best cheeseburger’s I’ve ever had in my life and I live in Vegas where we have some pretty good food so I know great food when I’m eating it. Jackson Hole will be on my list next time I’m in NY.
They still have 4 locations, this one which I went to once but won’t again, it’s pub like with limited seating in the middle of Manhattan. There’s another location in Manhattan Jersey and Astoria, Queens which I go to. It’s in a old school diner service is on point. If you can go visit and enjoy!!!
Back in grade school we used to go Jackson hole on 85th & 2nd Ave. which later moved to 83rd st. My go-to was the bacon cheeseburger deluxe. The onion rings were awesome too!
I had a burger like this with fries at The Jackson Hole in Astoria, Queens the other day. When I saw the size of the thing, I was like there is no way I'm gonna finish this monstrosity. A few minutes later, my plate was clean. Amazingly delicious burger and fries.
I'm watching this a day after having a belly button hernia manually reduced in the ER at the same time with inflamed bowels obviously not wanting to eat thinking I'd eat any of this guys stuff (just not right now) His presentation skills are off the chart .

A little piece of the Italian in me left my body when I witnessed that travesty. Actually audibly gasped and woke my sleeping wife up to show her. She was not impressed, both with my waking her and the food crime.
