  • This video covers the installation of a Rekluse RadiusX Autoclutch into a BMW G310R which will also work for a BMW G310GS. I learned a few things while doing the install which will be helpful if you try to do the installation yourself. I also have a few tips that should also help. After the installation was complete I demonstrated how this clutch allows the bike the stopped and started without manually engaging the clutch. It makes the bike much easier to ride because it can't be stalled.

    Just picked up my 2019 GS and rode it straight from Texas to Florida. Stalled at the driveway of the purchase location (used) and stalled it 20 or more times on my way home! This is going to be my first mod - and thank you for posting!

    Those Rekluse clutches are fantastic!! I had one of the first ball and ramp ones in my KTM300 and currently have a Core 3 in my Beta. Nice of you to help someone out with a helpful modification. The hand method is much easier when checking the free play gain. Also if the clutch lever adjustment is not working you might find a aftermarket lever solution. Good job Matt!!

    Thank you for your sharing, I am very interesting in the Auto Clutch with G310R, even I am still looking for my bike now. When I find it I will try to install it by my self. Thank you very much, thumb and subscribe !!

    Thanks for posting the video about this! I've been sitting on this clutch for about a month now waiting to install it. I just dropped the bike off at Sandia for a separate warranty issue. If it's alright I might message you on the NM GS Facebook page about a technical question regarding that timing chain guide pin.

    Great video. I installed one in my BMW F800R and the bike is not performing the same. I am getting a ton of vibration I never experience before. Do you have any idea what may have gone wrong?

    • @advmatt
      @advmatt  3 роки тому

      I am really not sure. The only thing I can think is maybe the stutter rings were installed in the wrong direction, but it is just a guess. Maybe the installed gap with the clutch free play is either not enough or too much. Rekluse would be the place to go for any questions. Sorry I couldn't help you.

    I understand what you mean with the friction zone. What has been your experience with the Rekluse on the G310R with slow speed maneuvers?

    • @advmatt
      @advmatt  3 роки тому +2

      No problem at all, the bike is nearly impossible to stall. I dont use the clutch when I come to a stop or start out, only when shifting.

    Did you have nay concerns with the fact that the judder spring and the judder spring seat seem too large for where they are placed. I see in your video that they are larger than the OD of the section of the clutch basket where they are placed.

      It's the best upgrade you can make to this engine. The bike never stalls and makes riding it much easier. This engine stalls really easily and can be challenging to ride, especially for new riders. No regrets.

    • @advmatt

      @@fish0n2 just keep in mind compression braking goes away and you cant park on a hill with it in gear and leave. The clutch will be disengaged. You will get a velcro strap to wrap around your front brake lever. I still think it is worth it.

    Hello, one question, I have a 310gs and here in my country there are only prestone 50 and 50 but orange, is there a problem if I put the orange one? or does it have to be force blue? regards

    • @advmatt
      @advmatt  3 роки тому

      These engines are designed around the blue antifreeze. I was told this is the coolant that has to be used. If you are good about draining the fluid you can re-use it. I spilled a little, but if I had been careful i would have been fine putting it back in and had enough.

    Hi Matt, I was wondering if you had the installation instructions in easy reach - I lost mine and am wondering what the torque spec is on the bolt that holds the water pump impeller to the shaft. Tiny little bolt can't be much more than snug but I would feel better having the torque spec I know its listed in the pamphlet that came with the rekluse. Getting 404 forbidden when I try to access it online. Thank you!!!

      @@advmatt Thanks a lot! I stripped out the same shaft on my klr a few years ago. What a waste of time! I couldn't work the nerve to go up to even 20 inch pounds just now - couldn't trust the torque wrench. Going to just call it good with really snug and a pinch extra. Everyone else go by book or use best judgement.

    Hi Matt, how you remove the water pump fan it so hard now I am suffering from removing the cover

    • @advmatt
      @advmatt  3 роки тому

      Remove the bolt holding it in place then using a plastic pick or really small screw driver gentle lift the water pump at the edges, slowly working from different sides. Take your time, apply gentle pressure and keep working from different sides. It will take some patience, but it will come out. Good luck.
