I appreciate your channel very much. Thank you and your son for your service. Your integrity shines through in every video and I appreciate that I can watch your videos with my kids who are enjoying my 19 rubicon as much as I am. You seem like a good man, father and husband and this is something we need more of. Being quarantined with the stay home requirements, your videos have been clutch. Thank you again for the entertainment and commitment to your channel.
Hey Brad, Great video. Never gets old watching these detailed videos of everything that you have done. I'm learning a lot from you. Keep up the good work! Thank you.
You have the best audio of any UA-cam channel. Hands down! I know you realize how important that is to your listening audience and it also shows how important attention to detail is to you personally. I have closed UA-cam videos more than once that I knew was interesting and would be enjoyable just because the audio was so poor and completely annoying. Keep up the good work!
Just started watching your videos in the past month or so and your S-pod switch labels are awesome! Rocket Launcher, passenger eject, and grande launcher. That’s awesome man
Hi Brad, Been Enjoying your video especially that we are staying home. Myself and my two sons have jeep wranglers. It is fun watching your videos. Greetings from Dubai, UAE. We do alot more desert off-roading here.
Great video Brad! 20 year Air Force vet here. I’ve seen several of your videos and just noticed you are a Seahawks fan. Go HAWKS!! I am about to be a 1st time Jeep owner. I will be getting a 2019 Mojito Green JL. Keep up with the good work. I am learning so much from you. Be well Brother!
Great video Doc! I put the Flowmaster American Thunder Cat Back Medium Sound exhaust on my Jeep and I love it!!! It costs $350 on Amazon, takes about an hour or two to install, gives you amazing clearance, and it sounds really cool too. Not too loud, but you can definitely hear it (like in the background of my driving videos).
Love the Channel. Brad, I did replace the Oil Filter Housing first and later the Rear Main Seal like you. Both were cover under the 5-Year / 100,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty, no cost and got a rental on the second fix. I think my JK was around the 65k miles when I got fix.
Rain? But you have T-shirt air temperatures, which is pretty darn good. Up here at 62nd parallel we have gale wind and snowfall, right now. Got 150 mm (6 inches) outside. Enjoy your early spring, folks! And great video, which I enjoyed in these strange times(...), so thank you!
I’m glad you went into detail about why you choose to run different wheels. I’ve been contemplating going away from my Machete beadlocks ! Thank you again for another great video!
Brad, Thanks for the motivation. My off road vehicle for the narrow trails in Northern Michigan is a 98 Suzuki X90 that I bought for $800 and have put a lot of time, money and effort into building up to make it my own (only I know how much I've put into it, LOL). Got some ideas for spring projects/additions from your video. Just waiting for warmer weather. SF from a Jarhead.
Brad, thanks for putting out the extra videos. It gives us all something to look forward to and something else to watch besides Covid-19, 24/7 . I appreciate the insight in to your build. It is nice to see what worked and why, and just as importantly, what didn't work. I would like to see a little more on how the trailer is working out and how the comfort level is vs your previous rooftop tent. 73, tnx, and see you on the bands. Gene K1NR
I just stumbled on to your channel and it’s great! Love your Jeep and also like the Fleet Marine Force banner in the garage. I’m an Air Wing Marine, 1990-94. Semper Fi, brother!
Nice overview, Brad. Thanks for keeping us up to date and smiling! Recently put a MagnaFlow on my WK Hemi and it sounds great without being "too loud" - just a mellow growl! Hope to meet up on the trails soon.
Hey Brad, love the channel, your beautiful family (and their Jeeps), your enthusiasm for Jeeping, and your positive attitude, long time subscriber, first time reply. Thanks for continuing to keep us interested and updated even though sheltering in place is the rule of the day. I like the prep and walk around videos just as much as the trail vids although I do miss some fresh Marco. Your detail has helped many Jeeper like me make decisions on the way to go especially based on your experiences (many that we've witnessed) and that, to someone with a very limited budget, is really cool. I' d rather learn from others trials and tribulations as it's taken me years of mistakes to get to the mistakes I'm making now. :) Stay dirty & stay safe.
Great video! So glad you made this videoI have been debating going with beadlocks wheels on my LJ and you have convinced me to not sacrifice the weight and stick with standard wheels.
Great video on the overview of where your Jeep is at today! Also I appreciate ur feedback and explanation on your driveshafts for strength, weight and rotational resistance, I’m going to be installing a 3.5” JKS lift and when my driveshafts start to fail I was planning on goin with Adams driveshafts but I was not sure about going 1310’s or 1350’s. So thanks for throwing that in there! Keep it up Brad and you’re son too!
Thanks Brad. I love seeing that Jeep evolve. I'm missing the trails as well. Soon enough we will be out there. You in your Jeep, me either in my Jeep, or on my mtn bike. May 1st, I hope and pray, this darn virus will be beaten back and gone for good.
Great video brother! Keep in mind your posture when doing these videos, and daily life of course. Spine health is much more important than people think!
Love your videos and the Jeep looks great! I've always done a lot of 4 wheeling, camping etc. but have never owned a Jeep product. Seriously considering the gladiator but I do tow and use my truck bed so just making sure it's the right fit. I do love the idea of being able to go Topless!
Hi Brad. Enjoy seeing your channel and glad to see your involvement and projects with your family. Also, thanks for your service. AD USAF here. I noticed you don’t have a side marker LED(s) in your front fender. Is that intentional? Is there any requirement in your location for that? Looking forward to seeing your son’s build and wishing for you and the fam to stay safe and happy trails - Cheers!🇺🇸
Great video, you may want to look into the tuffy deck enclosure for security . Have it with my soft top and it secures everything into your cargo area.
Brad this is my first comment on your channel so let me thank you for your service to our country! I know from personal experience that is not easy. Since you didn't comment on your switch labels I am going to offer my best guess! I think rocket launcher is your amber driving lights, the grenade launcher is the KC light bar, and the passenger eject turns your winch on...once the winch is on it is time for the passenger to get out and pull cable!
Thanks for the update, just building my first jeep and it's great to see what someone who's got experience has used and liked - and probably more importantly where you've changed your mind! On you iPad mini.... Is is Wifi only or is it cellular?
If you are beating up your steel skids, the 1/4" aluminum belly pan skids will be pulverized much more so, in no time. I have a buddy who ran two different aluminum belly pan skids, and went through this, they were bent and beat up rather quickly. Steel is more weight, but won't bend, contort and scratch as much as aluminum will.
with my 14 2 door, I had the oil cooler/filter housing crack, its under the intake. you can replace at home but will take a day. A dealer charges around $1,400 to replace it. also changed the thermostat a few months ago in my works parking lot in like 30 minutes
@TrailRecon Hi Brad.. I remember you were looking to put in a fridge slide in your Jeep. You should have Dometic send you a CFX-SLD5065B CFX Fridge/Freezer Slide. And do an install video for all of us.
I’m about to go peruse your channel to see if I’ve missed an earlier video, but if you haven’t done a video specifically on your iPad Mini/mount and Gaia setup, I’d love to see such a discussion.
Would love a build list for what went into your Jeep! Always love your reviews and videos, very informative and very helpful! I unfortunately had my '10 JKU Sahara get T-Boned so I not have upgraded to a '12 Sahara JKU and I'm rebuilding it!
What ultimately lead to your decision of making the JK more driver friendly? Is the Gladiator your primary overland vehicle at this point and the JK your day trip rig and grocery getter/commuter? I like the change 👍🏼 looks awesome
Have you considered the Diabolical inc Slip Stream to use as a deck cover to cover up the back of the jeep with the soft top? It locks to the tail gate, so it cant be opened w/o unlocking the keep, and can have molly mesh panels added to hang stuff off the inside folding cover. I do have installed one on my jeep and love it as it securely locks the back stuff in, yet can be nearly fully removed in minutes to carry larger items or opened as a pass through to carry long items.
You said your happy with the 9500 winch, is it big enough for the 4 door? And, you Jeeps always look great! How much time is spent cleaning after trips? And how much repaint/deep cleaning do you do? Annually? You cosmetic maintenance would be an interesting video.
Yes, the 9500 is strong enough. I spend a lot of time cleaning, but that's just because I've always been a car guy that likes my vehicles to look good.
Very informative as always. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. It helps the viewers take things into consideration when making decisions for real-world applications. Q: what stage Icon lift are you using?
Brad, I know you love your lights, I love mine too SO, where are your side markers for your fenders? 😆. I have the same fenders and must admit that the install was a bit of a pain because of the tiny space. Thanks for the update!!
What upgraded steering box do you have? Needing to replace mine and looking to upgrade it now that I’m running larger tires. Thanks and love the channel.
Nice vid Our Jeep's must be twins. Had to do the radiator and oil cooler have to do the leaking rear differential. All between 80k to 90k miles. Your right not cheap repairs but it's way cheaper than the new JL I speced out and would buy. I figured fixing mine vs buying new saved me 40k😊
Hey Brad! I’ve been watching your channel for while and really enjoy the production style. Very easy to watch. Now my question. You failed to mention your big brake rotor upgrade you did quite a while ago and I’m curious if long term you like it? Your initial impression video you didn’t seem overly impressed. Please comment! Thanks!
Yes sorry, I did forget to mention that. It's been an upgrade I have been VERY happy with. I think anyone running larger tires needs to upgrade their brakes on a JK.
Brad!! Good video. Thanks. Glad you did that one. I have questions though. So many. Haha. Just one I’ll shoot at you now. The new winch.... have you already tensioned there line? If not, will you do a video on that? I just installed a winch this winter and still need to tension it. I have an idea but could use some guidance.
I was going to say that looks like the winch in my PSC bruzier bumper on my JL. Still need to do a recovery class over here to get more experience using the gear in general. Did your Jeep have a hood liner before? My JL has one and I’ll be installing the PSC hood louver and it say to trim the liner which I kinda don’t see the point of having. I see many in the off-roading community recommending the tires. Currently have BFG KM3 since I had the KM2’s on my JK. Been fine with them but have to say I’d like to try those tires out after I use the km3 thoroughly. Awesome time review video! Really gives me more ideas on what to do with my Jeep in the future.
Hey buddy!, as usual, great video! Thanks lot to keep us entertained during this not easy situation! Why don't you replace your plastic steering fluid cap by an aluminium one?, the stock ones always leak or sweat some liquid, making a mess, you can check yours. I did it and it changed totally, no mess and even looking cool as they are aluminium colour. What do you think? Stay safe and cheers!
Second question...I have a manual and I’d like to mount a Ham some place completely out of the way, so that if I ever removed it no one could tell it had ever been installed. I don’t think I want the overhead console (currently hardtop, but would like to go soft). I have yet to find a good option for me, but perhaps I’m looking in the wrong places.
We all cherish drivability but for those who can appreciate aesthetics and exhaust tones --that's Class.
Myself rather have Flowmaster...Muffler...

Your rig has been a huge inspo for my build! Excited to be watching this update! 👏🏼💙
Thank you!
I’ve got the 67 designs “taco rail” in my tacoma and it definitely is the best mount out there
I love my 67 Designs mount! So worth the money

If you are beating up your steel skids, the 1/4" aluminum belly pan skids will be pulverized much more so, in no time. What ultimately lead to your decision of making the JK more driver friendly? Is the Gladiator your primary overland vehicle at this point and the JK your day trip rig and grocery getter/commuter? I like the change 👍🏼 looks awesome
Love build evolution videos. Great work 👍👍
Awesome video Brad. Thanks.
Always awesome to see your most current build. How low do you air the tires with the ICON Compression wheels when Offroading?
Brad great walk around on the JK, did you upgrade your front locker when you installed the Dynatrac?
Have you considered the Diabolical inc Slip Stream to use as a deck cover to cover up the back of the jeep with the soft top? It locks to the tail gate, so it cant be opened w/o unlocking the keep, and can have molly mesh panels added to hang stuff off the inside folding cover. Yes, the 9500 is strong enough. I spend a lot of time cleaning, but that's just because I've always been a car guy that likes my vehicles to look good.
Go for the Artec aluminum skids! Light and strong! Also super smooth!
I installed some and didn't like the color, but haven't got around to installing new ones. Agree, they are a pain!
I got a trail recon sticker for my jeep and it took 5 months to arrive lmao. Worth the wait though.
Brad, love the content! How is the teraflex brake kit holding up?
Love the videos. Just got a 2009 with 4.5 lift. Looking forward to the same. What music do u use for videos? Luv it.
What upgraded steering box do you have? Needing to replace mine and looking to upgrade it now that I’m running larger tires. Thanks and love the channel.
Nice vid
Our Jeep's must be twins.
Had to do the radiator and oil cooler have to do the leaking rear differential.
All between 80k to 90k miles.
Your right not cheap repairs but it's way cheaper than the new JL I speced out and would buy.
I figured fixing mine vs buying new saved me 40k😊
Ya, they seem to be very common issues on the JK... hopefully there will be less required repairs this year.
Love the video. This may have come up all ready but can you say something about the driving with the 4:88 gears and rpm’s that’s changed. Thanks
Hey Brad! I’ve been watching your channel for while and really enjoy the production style. Very easy to watch. Now my question. Brad how much $$$ do you have invested in your 2015 jeep
Such a solid well built Jeep! Have you considered going with aftermarket seats such as PRP seats that were put into the Jeep from San Diego Jeep club?
There's so much cool stuff out there we can bury our jeeps with it. I really appreciate your downsizing strategy.

Yes the hood liner came out a while back. Thank you!
Thanks for the update 👊😎💪
Hey buddy!, as usual, great video! Thanks lot to keep us entertained during this not easy situation!
Why don't you replace your plastic steering fluid cap by an aluminium one?, the stock ones always leak or sweat some liquid, making a mess, you can check yours. I did it and it changed totally, no mess and even looking cool as they are aluminium colour. What do you think?
Stay safe and cheers!
What’s size were your Milestars? 37x12.5? I’m going back and forth between that or the 38x13.5. Thanks and can’t wait to see your JKs next iteration!
Second question...I have a manual and I’d like to mount a Ham some place completely out of the way, so that if I ever removed it no one could tell it had ever been installed. I don’t think I want the overhead console (currently hardtop, but would like to go soft). I have yet to find a good option for me, but perhaps I’m looking in the wrong places.
the ICOM 7300, ICOM 7900 or ICOM 705 might be a good upgrade worth getting.
Could you make a video on how you clean the ins and outs of your jeeps after going on an overlanding trip?
