ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: Glucosamine For Dogs
Three of the best supplemental sources of natural glucosamine come from the following:
GREEN LIPPED MUSSEL: is natures anti inflammatory for joints and arthritis relief.
The green lipped muscle or GLM comes from the waters around New Zealand and has been is use as a remedy by the Maoris for hundreds of years. GLM has only recently become popular in the west due to its highly beneficial anti-inflammatory properties from tests on dogs.
Half of all dogs over the age of eight start to develop arthritis in their joints, particularly the elbows, knees and hips. Traditional drugs are expensive and lead to distressing side effects, creating new problems in other parts of the body. GLM as a natural food source brings welcome relief.
GLM can be obtained as an extract in powdered form. The best brand will have been processed without heat extraction for better quality nutrients.
A general rule of thumb is 150mg of powdered extract per 10lbs of your dogs lean body weight per day.
If you don't see improvement after one month of use, you'll need to up the amount by 25%. As your dogs condition improves, you can lower the dose to the starting amount.
GLUCOSAMINE sulphate generally comes in powdered capsule form or as coated tablets. You can also get it as dog chews (see links above). Make sure it's glucosamine sulphate from a quality brand as many inferior brands use other binding agents as fillers so you don't really get the correct amounts of glucosamine.
Your dog needs about 200mg per 10lbs of lean body weight. Simply add to your dogs daily food.
Glucosamine is safe and if your dog is badly arthritic, you can safely double the dose. Continue supplementation for life. Glucosamine has proven very effective for arthritic dogs.
BONE BROTH: is a delicious and inexpensive way to give your dog a nutritious boost to their diet. It provides welcome relief to a compromised digestive system and a sensitive tummy.
Bone broth also aids in detoxing your dogs liver, boosting their immune system, protecting joints and is packed with vitamins, minerals, gelatin, glucosamine, hyaluronic acid and glycine to aid digestion.
In short, bone broth is super easy to make and creates a powerhouse super food dogs really benefit from consuming.
As well as making bone broth to use fresh, you can freeze portions as highly nutritious meals ready to mix into the diet and for healing gastrointestinal issues.
Click the link in the description above for a video on how to make bone broth.

Hey there thank you so much for the video! I have a 3 year old 95 pound tall lean German shepherd Husky mix. He’s very big and strong but lean and muscular. He eats whole hearted whole grain Kibble and I make him fresh brown rice to go with it. He always has lots of energy! He gets two long runs every day one in the morning and one in the evening. He gets lots of exercise and loves to hang out with me outside! I’m telling you all this so you can have as much information as possible. I wanted to start giving him Glucosamine supplements to help reduce the chances of joint and hip problems in his future what would you recommend? He hasn’t had any health problems before and his joints are very strong and healthy but I want to keep it that way! Thank you again for your time and for all the information!

Thanks for the info, does help. I can see him in the photo with you, great looking dog. Remember, he's only three so not much is gonna affect him at this stage.
My advice is to begin thinking about fresh foods like green tripe, meats, eggs, canned sardines: amzn.to/3vaXrj6 veg and organs. He'll need these foods down the line to keep joints strong and keep muscles fed properly. Kibble and brown rice is great for energy now but not deep health sustaining.
I do have an ebook on 3 main diets, the first being the Healthier Kibble Diet which I think your dog will need going forward: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/
It's fresh food that relly supports joints, sure there's supplements but nothing beats fresh foods.
And I recommend zero vaccines and vet drugs generally. I find GSD's to be sensitive dogs and so need fresh foods for balance.

Hip & Joint: amzn.to/3IVUVUX (Green lipped mussels & eggshell membrane).
Detox your dogs. The organs and systems that get stressed the most from toxins and poor diet are the liver, kidney, skin and gastrointestinal tract. A detox gives these systems a chance to rest and replenish for daily life and any health situation that arises … like tracheal collapse.
Detox Gold for Dogs - shrsl.com/3uv5t Gentle Detoxification & Elimination Support: Essential detoxification support for dogs: Essential detoxification support for dogs
      Support for the immune system
      Supports vital systems of detoxification

      Promotes long-term health and vitality
In mild cases of tracheal collapse, CBD: healthydogforlife.com/CBD can help to soothe your dog’s cough and keep him from getting too excited.
Bone broth contains lots of glucosamine to support your dogs trachea.
Chicken feet are loaded with glucosamine.

@@DanScott1 Thats good to hear. Im currently feeding my 10lb dog 15 grams of broccoli and 45 grams 90/10 ground bison twice daily. If I were to add eggs and sardines to her diet should the eggs be hard boiled? @@DanScott1 Thanks... I tried feeding her raw and soft boiled eggs but she wasn't the biggest fan of them. She does fine with hard boiled for some reason though. When you talk about a raw diet does that include dogs with cancer? Ive read that because they are immune compromised that raw might not be the best option for those cases. Also if I were to feed a raw diet what would be the best option in regards to ground or whole? Ive read that ground meat has a greater chance of having salmonella. Sorry for all the questions at once I just wanted to ask them before I forgot. Thank you.

Fresh food diet si a must in my opinion for GSD's. So lots of fresh foods like sardines, meats, green tripe, eggs and veg 50/50 with whatever your feeding now. Thats the best joint health option, then some GLM: Hip & Joint: amzn.to/3IVUVUX

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Рік тому +1

Yes I have and my response is, just use eggs!
This product does not convince me, not having seen any good data on it. Raw eggs added to meals are an incedible nutrition addition. They are 100% assimilable protein sources and a complete food source.
1 eggs is probably the same cost as 1 scoop of the powder.
Dogs needs some fresh food in their diet, a better option than this in my opinion.

Hi Dan, my dog has super senstive stomach and we did a hell lot of blood tests but nothing came out. He is alright when just chilling all day but the moment we try to make him exercise he poops and keeps on pooping . Once or twice its but if we intend to make him exercise daily pooping all over would cause weakening. He is on kibble right now but we switched to fresh food and his stomach was worse. We tried to walk him very slow and small distances but as we gradually increase it the same problem starts ? Anything we can try?

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  11 місяців тому

Too much too soon. This is a 3 month transition, one little bit at a time. If blood work shows normal? Then it's chronic inflammation.
Do this instead: but start small and slow and fast the dog 24hrs straight water only before begining and add those soil based probiotics from first meal but half dose first few days.
If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (best) soft boiled (ok) and preferably organic, canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact: 12 Pack Sardines - amzn.to/3vaXrj6), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better but not essential.
If not liking to prepare vegetables then these freeze dried greens are antioxidant packed to help protect cells from free radical damage, cellular repair, support immunity, joints, skin issues, heart and eye health: Core Immune CARE Greens: shrsl.com/3uv18
Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables and freeze dried greens.
Always add a quality probiotic to improve digestion and gut health: (skin issues/UTI's/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l
If you want an excellent, VERY low carbohydrate kibble at just 5%, (high carbohydrates cause chronic inflammation, with itchy skin, yeast, poor gut health, ear infection, UTI's and hot spots, and nearly all kibbles are 40+% carbs!).
Ketona has high protein at 47% (dogs thrive on proteins), correct fats at 15% and natural additives, so have a look at Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble. I recommend still adding the fresh foods even with the best kibble.
By introducing fresh foods, really lowering carbs use, introducing greens, omega 3's, proteins and a better more suitable kibble, your dog will respond with healing and improved health over the next 12 weeks.
      Some must do's:
Zero vaxx once adult (auto immune disease issues rife from over vaccination)
If Rabies is mandatory, use Protect after shots: (Humic & Fulvic acid) amzn.to/33P2P1i
Very low carbs in diet, 10% or less (cause of inflammation, poor gut health and later, cancer) No vet drugs, there's effective natural alternatives (always!)
Feed a healthier diet with at least 50% fresh food in it.
NO white foods ie white rice, potato, pasta..
Slowly exercise more and more once on new diet, just s few minutes extra each week and build up.

Wow, that's a mouthful to digest in one bloc of text!
A lot of history I dont know but the goal would be a fresh food diet perhaps freeze dried raw is best, something like this: Bixby Rawbble Freeze Dried Raw chicken - amzn.to/3YH6GVD
Bixby Rawble - Freeze Dried Lamb - amzn.to/3kDbUmX
You would have to transition over very slowly so his gut gets used to knew foods.
I'd add soil based probiotics as they are the strongest: amzn.to/3yoURqU
There's a host of other additions but this one product called Green Vibrance has most of them: amzn.to/3R1m3HR just a 1/4tsp in each meal.
For the teeth, use neem bark powder: amzn.to/2ULzroL dip brush or finger in coconut oil then the powder and rub/brush teeth (your own too) great for keeping teeth clean of plaque etc. I use it.
Ween off the drugs including cerenia . NO vaccines.
Always find the budget for good fresh foods to stay balanced and consistant. To the new food, add a sardine from canned sardines (in water), some egg (soft boiled). Just take out a little freeze dried food to compensate.
That's it, start there. Transition slowly over one month while easing off the drugs.
If pain management is needed, try CBD oil as it has good analgesic properties plus other good benefits, just add to food: healthydogforlife.com/CBD

Is carnilove dog kibble a healthy choice

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Рік тому +1

It's around 36% protein, 25+% carbs and 16% fat which is ok. Slightly high on the carbs, slightly low on the proteins, correct on the fats. No synthetics.
So it's pretty good but I still add raw eggs, canned sardines and a little meat protein as an extra just to bump up the proteins and lower the carbs. So take out 25% of the meals kibble and replace with the mentioned fresh foods. Much better!
I'd do this with all kibble anyway, no matter how good it is, it's still dry food and needs some fresh food additions.
And no vaxx or white foods (carbs).

Only when he's going uphill that is. He is an active dog aswell. @@zeusricochant7357 ...but your bothered for good reason and thinking ahead which is wise in my books. The vet said that on purpose, why, because they know you'll be back with the resultant health issues and it's more bucks for them.
