Akkeancia eats at the mucosal lining. That’s what it feeds off of so if you have leaky gut and you’re trying to repair your gut lining , it might not be the best choice.
Akkermansia muciniphila is known for its ability to degrade mucin, the glycoprotein component of mucus that lines the gut. This might sound harmful at first, but it actually serves several beneficial purposes: • Stimulating Mucus Production: By consuming mucin, Akkermansia encourages the production of more mucus by the gut cells. Strengthening the Gut Barrier • Enhancing Tight Junctions: Akkermansia has been shown to promote the integrity of the gut barrier by enhancing the function of tight junctions, which are structures that seal the gaps between intestinal cells. This reduces the likelihood of gut permeability (“leaky gut”) and prevents harmful substances from entering the bloodstream.
One of the Doctors I follow recently pointed out that one should vary their probiotics to get a variety of them. He talks about and uses many other ferments, such a kefir, but I haven't gone that deep into it yet.

I just got my order from Pendulum and I took one last night and one this morning. It might be psychosomatic but I feel full ! Could it work that fast? I forgot to check my morning blood sugar but this is honestly the first time ever I have felt full only eating a small protein breakfast.

Dr. Boz, you say to get your nutrition in order to do this. Wouldn't it be a good experience to jump in and see if this helps you get on the road? If everyone could just nuckle this, a lot of us wouldn't be in this predicament.
So by taking akermansia, probiotics, does it reduces appetitd n therdby reduces blood glucose? Is randomised double blind clinicsl trial data available?
What is GLP1 and how can I get it. I have type 2 diabetes and A1c higher than that. I’ve been trying to use helping my microbiome to get it under control. I find that L-Gasseri fermented dairy has really helped me manage my appetite. It seems to be helping with that but not necessarily with my sugars.
My question would be … what do you do if you have had a gastric bypass? Plus the cost just can’t be done for people that live paycheck to paycheck. Most of us cannot afford a glucose monitor either. I can’t prick my finger anymore!
I have been taking Seed symbiotic and really haven’t noticed a difference. I placed an order for a 3 month subscription and will monitor my food and CGM. I’ve been having great success with adding allulose to lower blood sugar but my tummy has been bothering me and I can only take so much. I’ve struggled with being heavy and not having self control over eating my entire life. I’m just wondering if my micro biome has been compromised and just maybe I can finally lose weight and keep it off.
Stop all carbs/sugar/vegetables and fruit, seed oils and start eating eggs, butter, beef and bacon. Do that for 30 days. I'm sure it will help a lot more than some boa constrictors gut bacteria.

Or just eat keto/carnivore and see if it helps.... Healthy fats help... Also consider Cushing's syndrome... Pregnenolone, progesterone cream, DIM/estro block....

I think potentially with a proper functioning gut and micro biome we could eat almost anything and still be healthy and thriving. This would probably eliminate the need for carnivore or keto diets, which essentially diets to eliminate and heal. I don’t think its healthy so starve one self regularly to be healthy. The micro biome may govern just about everything but educating and fixing that problem would cost the medical establishment trillions in revenue decline.

Ok Dr. Boz I am going to give you a hard time. First keep asking questions? Are polyphenols necessary? Do they actually do what we are told and believe without questions? Antioxidants? Our own liver makes glutathione? So I would argue that polyphenols & other plant toxins might be useful in a medicinal way. But it seems that the body tries to remove these foreign particles as much as possible. I would agree that our diet could select over time our biome. But I am either De. Shawn Baker you don’t need fiber. We have been educated to eat it. I’m not surprised that the biome plays a role but let’s not forget that GLP-1 inhibitors are actually detrimental despite the biased science pushing them. Nothing we doctors prescribe as in medicines does better than a the normal body processes when working. Dr. Ginge
I see no evidence that any probiotic supplement is superior in benefit to the inclusion of traditionally fermented vegetables, such as sauerkraut, in the diet. These traditional foods deliver critical inulin or FOS to the gut, which supports the proliferation of a healthy microbiome. The impact of glyphosate is an ongoing concern. Glyphosate is an antibiotic, and it is ubiquitous in grains in North America.
I have an elevated lower (diastolic) blood pressure. I measure my bp every day for years. This year, I took their glucose control, and again, my bp went down to normal levels almost immediately, and stayed there. I have all the records. But it has no effect on my hba1c, I test every month. But my levels are normal already, to be fair

Dr. Boz, you say to get your nutrition in order to do this. Wouldn't it be a good experience to jump in and see if this helps you get on the road? If everyone could just nuckle this, a lot of us wouldn't be in this predicament.
I tested and had no akkermansia so I tried Pendulum’s Akkermansia. After months of use and a lot of money, it did nothing for me.
How do you test?
GI Map / stool test
Too expensive. Pharmaceuticals have taken far too much $ from Americans.
It would’ve been nice if she would let her guest talk more
So by taking akermansia, probiotics, does it reduces appetitd n therdby reduces blood glucose? Is randomised double blind clinicsl trial data available?
My endocrinologist ok’d berberine for my prediabetes. Can you take this along with berberine?
Interesting to watch you Dr. Boz holding your tongue when some spurious statements were brought forth by the guest.
I’m getting good glucose control so I’m wondering about the impact on mitochondria.
My question would be … what do you do if you have had a gastric bypass? Plus the cost just can’t be done for people that live paycheck to paycheck. Most of us cannot afford a glucose monitor either. I can’t prick my finger anymore!
Pommegranade stimulates akkermansia.
WHAT IS CONSIDERED A HIGH INFLAMMATORY STATE???? CPR ? WHAT WOULD BE THE LAB MARKER FOR THAT 9? 40 ? WHAT MARKERS ARE INFLAMMATORY????
Is Glucose Control only for type 2 diabetics? I ordered GLP1. wondering which was best. I'm not diabetic as of yet.
I'm between keto & carnivore.
Perhaps Shawn Baker has all the required bacteria and these bacteria feed on products other than fiber?
Its not necessarily your self-control, it's either your microbes or your hormones. Have you been tested for hypothyroidism?? Could be simple hormonal deficiency. If not that, check your nutrition. Vitamin D/K, iodine/selenium, rna drops, marine Omega 3s, AMPK activator.... All can help. ..
Dr Boz's ketones, MCTs.... Etc
Or candida. A good cleanse might help such as CCWS.
Natural desiccated thyroid meds (NDT) might help if you can't get a prescription or don't want to use synthetic thyroid, look up stop the thyroid madness ...
Or just eat keto/carnivore and see if it helps.... Healthy fats help...
Also consider Cushing's syndrome...
Pregnenolone, progesterone cream, DIM/estro block....

UA-cam won't let me post to you. Check under "new".
Focus more on eating correct macros in correct timing
Her workbook is incredible
I think potentially with a proper functioning gut and micro biome we could eat almost anything and still be healthy and thriving. This would probably eliminate the need for carnivore or keto diets, which essentially diets to eliminate and heal. I don’t think its healthy so starve one self regularly to be healthy.
The micro biome may govern just about everything but educating and fixing that problem would cost the medical establishment trillions in revenue decline.
I sure do need your help
Isn’t is great how much info she (Dr Boz) puts online for free? I feel like she helps me every day!! 👏🏻🙏
Your figures for average glucose and a1c do not match. Check reference or a calculator or Chat gbt.
That's what I was thinking. Seems like her A1C should have been lower and even lower after taking the pro/pre biotic.
That’s because that number is not A1C, it’s GMI, which is different.
You’d think she’d know that 🤦🏻♀️
If you're wanting glp-1, why not use allulose?
This probiotic gave me the worst gas and bloating I’ve ever had in my life. Had to quit after 3 weeks. Bought the pricey brand covered here, after to listening to her on Peter Attia podcast.
I read that it takes the gut a while to adjust not sure if that helps
I bought another brand from Amazon . No bloating
Dr. Boz, is it easier for a person to make an anaerobic probiotic who has had a gastric bypass procedure?
After several video's with Dr Shawn O'Mara on inflammatory visceral fat i seem to look at faces and how puffy they look , Dr Boz looks much better than Colleen does , no offence . And the answer came , "Starbucks every day"
Maybe so…also, notice Coleen’s hair. She definitely needs a lot more meat protein in her diet. Dr. Boz, on the other hand, looks far more robust.
Ive been loosing hair and insulin resistance now menopause..help any ideas@@MsSweetlandofliberty
I have heard N of 1 lately in my research.. what does that mean?
Sample size of 1
I am on Ozempic right now, should I add Akkermansia to aid the Ozempic I am taking?
Yes
Doesn't keto get you loosing hair? As female if l fast to long l loose more Hair....insulin resistance being told get fiber in ??? Which is it? But what about detoxing liver and gallbladder?
Joel Greene has been talking about akkermansia forever. Now everyone else is catching up.
So what do you eat pls
Sorry dr Boz you’re talking too much and taking over your guests
I have an elevated lower (diastolic) blood pressure. I measure my bp every day for years. Last year, I started taking their akkermansia (for one month) and noticed in a week that my bp had normalized. Before, no rx drugs I took could do that effect. This year, I took their glucose control, and again, my bp went down to normal levels almost immediately, and stayed there. I have all the records. But it has no effect on my hba1c, I test every month. But my levels are normal already, to be fair
Can l ask were you low in bp and then swing high? May l ask what is your diet ? Has it chged and exercise?
Well we believed the scientist about covid too
Nope didn’t
No, we didn’t.
I mean... I believe big pharma talks a lot of nonsense and mostly has negative intentions ie only profit but what was wrong about it? COVID happened, it was passed thru respiration and contact.... Masks work and help when used... Just like basic handwashing.
This is just science.
Now I believe there's room to question when it comes to vaccines, esp early childhood vaccines.
I'm sorry but what about COVID do you disagree with?
Who believed shills?
Not I
CDC owns the patents on many shots reccd-why listen to anything they say? They are a sales company.
I didn’t 😊
I adore you and the fact you are putting out there all of the information you do to help so many people.❤
I think you seem to be a brilliant, caring person.
I just do NOT understand how, with a 5.7 A1c, you can refer to yourself as " having had a metabolic issue IN THE PAST." ?
As someone who was morbidly obese before losing 140 lbs, has heart disease and type II diabetes, I gave up all sugar and grains and most processed food 7 years ago. My A1c now is 4.9 (with ZERO meds or insulin) , I get very upset when someone I care about is told "They're fine and not diabetic" with A1cs in the high 5s!
I do not get it. 😔
Omg 😲 so does a1c need to be 4? Isn't that low? Pls help lm 5.7 Dr said lm fine then pcos took 30 yrs to diagnose with endometriosis.. which hearing l need metiformin..lm like what??? Now hysterectomy bled 120 days ..
Please would love a buddy here.
What did you do to get lower a1c ...my insulin fasting 2hr was 13o pmol lm in Canada..lm female is research less on women? Pls pls pls share what you did to get well ..lm 100 pounds over wait hard to loose but gain easy peasy
Pols share the foods you eat.. eggs? Bacon. Salads ?
Are you keto? Carivore?
Bio hacking is a misnomer. It's actually called eating right.
What is eatting right tho? What do you eat
I have mitochondrial disease. CPEO. IM overweight but not pre or diabetic. I do have enlarged colon. Wish yall could help. 😅
Start a ketogenic lifestyle. This will help you immensely.
Polyphenols like herb teas?
In one week taking “glucose control” with no other changes averaged daily glucose has increased every day. Weekly average jumped from 121 to 131.
Something is definitely going on - but it’s not good. Note: this is in a dirty carnivore,
All my food goes completely through me within 30 to 45 minutes of eating. I should be skinny, but I'm 100lbs over weight.
If your Pooping fast to me the body is telling me no to the food ..what's your diet?
Crazy cost, just stick to a strict Keto diet
I took berberine for a few months after over a year of fasting and weight loss i didnt feel it did anything maybe if i had taken it when i was fat it would have
Which brand did you try? The Berberine from Thorne blew my mind it actually worked so well it caused me to get annoyed that I wasn’t as hungry & honestly realizing I’m a “boredom eater” funny how these things get into our brains 😂
How much berberine did you do ? 3x a day? How long?
@@SheriMorgan-l8i l crave and bored love to know did you eat cause hunger?
@@joanneclark8256 I take usually 2 a day … one before meals .. I just
purchased a new “super Berberine “ that is easier on digestion as I
have IBS and am extremely sensitive in the tummy area. Please give an update if you try it 💙
Will a meat only carnivore diet have the same result?
Meat will work better than this stuff. Look up NIH study from May 24,2023 "A critical perspective on supplementation of Akkermansia".
@@paulcallicoat7597thx for info
You do not trust the NIH these days!
I choke on pills. Have switched to powders or open capsules. I don’t suppose your products would work for me.
Try chicory inulin 2-3 scoops several times a day.
I have to ask ... nutritionist or dietians go and learn about food ...why are they saying you don't have to minus the foods you balance them for better response???????? They go to school for years ??? WHOM TO BELIEVE?
BOZ. NEEDS TO SPEAK LESS , ask more questions.
I watch her videos to only hear her speak. If you have questions search her other videos. Its gets old listening to the same basic questions
LOL, she's such a teacher.
@@alymshepRP meant Dr Boz ask more questions of the person interviewed!
Dr Boz is an MD, Colleen is not. The guest admitted she was not a clinician. Its also the Dr Boz channel and most here have followed her program for years. Knowing Dr. Boz this makes sense. I do hate how some are critical of Boz
Caps are rude, there is no need to shout your opinion.
Wow, this lady looks great. Had to say.
There not anymore expensive than the stuff they sell in the health food stores
Can someone take this if type 2 & on metformin
Took akkermansia for a few months to help heal my gut. No weight loss benefits for me.
Any other benefits? From people's comments this seems like marketing and bs.
@@Fresh_N_Fit I didn’t take her recommendation. I used an akkermansia probiotic created by the only people I know of who are able to keep it viable to the gut. I feel like it absolutely helped my leaky gut and allowed all the other things I was doing to work. Was battling SIBO too .. all of that has improved. The biggest improvement was going carnivore and fasting.
@@Soapgirl64What company did you go with? Apparently here company makes one that reaches the gut too. As long as there are real benefits to taking it, I'd consider trying it.
@@Fresh_N_Fit it was Pendulum Life … check them out:)
For comparison, I'd like to know which supplement you used as well.
These are less expensive than healthy trinity.
Not convinced.
Well, I wanna get a stool transplant.
Lol
Ok
EXPENSIVE SUPPLEMENT!
I like raw kefir.
😊
Yeah, no. I don't think she's a fiber believer.
So Colleen Cutliffe just lost me with fiber is necessary? I get that you google fiber and it will show up as important for our gut biome & production of neurotransmitters and in order to move your bowels. But this is simple not factual. Let’s note that a Carnivore ketogenic diet absolutely improves psychiatric illness, decreases secure activity, and on top of that we have tons of antidotal case histories of people who are Carnivore 5-10 years without a medical illness. We also have studies that fiber is in fact the cause of constipation. So I’m am not saying that the gut biome is not important but that this lady is researching from within the box of the medical establishment @ it’s control & her I formation must be taken as suspect. DR. Ginge The biome is down stream results of a good or bad diet.
This is very disappointing. I don't buy supplements with wood pulp in them - aka microcrystalline cellulose.
Your a1c would be very low w an average of 99 glucose, lower than 5.7. I remember you said you took the a1c test long ago and compared it with others in your office and yours was around 5.7 I think. Does this mean your a1c has lowered a lot since then?
She, along with others, likes it under 5.0
Hers is like 4.7 maybe? ICR
Her BG is often under 80
@@YeshuaKingMessiahDr Boz’s A1C is not below 5.0; instead, it is typically between 5.4 to 5.7
@@jt8142 not what I’ve seen her say on the vids
Zero results for me. I took this product on good faith that she knew what she was talking about. There is absolutely no research on her findings. That being said, Some things will work, and some things won't work. Be very clear when opening a video, I have no scientific research to back me up.
you and Attia? really? that quackie and gossiper, not knowing how to align all his placement contracts he does not disclose, and actively harming people with his bad and evil advice? well I guess you learned to know about hill climbing on a pile of sand, and now you are a mountaineer :)))
Or did you reference hm just for the algorithm???
Did you really get the vax?
