wow this lake has some gigantic healthy trouts ! great ! i love to see people doing some fly fishing. I did enjoy watching your video ! Thank you for the share. subscribed !
These videos are awesome! I'm new to fly fishing and don't have a clue so I've been watching numerous videos to teach myself. Your vids have a completely different vibe about them and I love them. I think you could hit the 100000 mark quite quickly on this channel so just keep up the good work
Thanks Alan. Glad you found it useful. Stay tuned for another video this week regarding the wash line, a method every beginner angler can benefit from!👍
I had a fantastic day's fishing today. I was supposed to fish near Edinburgh at Roslynlee, but the guy I was going with never booked and let me down last minute. So I went to a local fishery, called Burnhouse Lochan near Bonnybridge. You would love it Rhys. The fish fight like Olympic athletes. I had a fish of 8ibs on my third cast, on an Airflo slow tip and a GRHE, then another of just over 5ibs. Next was another of 5ibs on a PTN, then one of around 4 on a sudo Diawl Bach. Then the sun got really warm and flat calm. Everything went quiet, so for the first time I tried an indicator and buzzers, which produced another fish of around 3.5-4 ibs. I decided to swap over to the Airflo 40+ fast intermediate line and after half an hour with Cormorants and then a Wotsit on the point and nothing doing, I changed to a black and red Diawl and on the point a foam daddy, still with the fast intermediate. I didn't know if this would work as the Daddy is a dry fly. I shouldn't have worried as a few casts later, I was into another fish of around 6ibs. Tired and sore as I suffer with back problems and Ostio Arthritis, I called it a day. A lovely days fishing. Well chuffed.
I know this is four years down the line Rhys, but you never mentioned the name of the venue. I’m sure it’s the same place in Wales that “Shaun Fishes” visits. If I’m right, it has a name that us English could never announce. Tight lines my friend. Cracking video, keep em coming. 🎣🎣
Great piece of work Rhys, a pleasure to watch and what a result. I’ve got to go fish my local still water after watching that but Mrs O might not be too pleased when I disappear tomorrow!
Another excellent video Rhys. I have watched most of them now! I would be interested to hear what camera gear and editing equipment you use. I think you are destined to be a big noise on the YT fishing scene. Well done, boyo!
Looking for such a fisheries as this with either accommodation on site or near by for me and my father who is 79 and uses a mobility scooter to get about... Could you please tell me the name of the fisheries and where it is exactly.. Many thanks kev n wales.. Excellent video guys
Some video that! That good I’ve subscribed. Just starting up the sport after my dad got me in to it at a young age, mostly for salmon. What water was this? Well done on the catch!
Thanks for your reply! I tried loads of stuff I’ve learned from your videos today at Ravensthorpe resi my nearest fishery. I didn’t catch but still had a great day🍻
Watched, and it is spot on. To edit that in the time that you did is clever. You have a knack and the music goes really well. I struggle with music. I started editing my next vid a week ago and its only half way. Can be hard work unless your a natural. Well done Rhys. You should never have to question your ability in editing. Oh how much did you have to pay your dad to make a star appearance.
Thanks Shaun! He's been asking for a while to be centre stage, just needed to find a good enough reason to give it to him. Couldnt really say no when he landed that monster. If you need help with music - i use a third party licencing free service. Costs per month but has plenty to choose from and you can take a 30 day trial if you prefer before paying
Thanks simon. If you check out the Cornora virus prelockdown video i go through the buzzer cast in more detail, including leader size and length, rod and fly line 👍
@@RhysFishes Cheers pal. Started at 5am this morning and pulled one out at 6am then it went dead. I'd love to see you catch at my lake when no one else is catching like me. Everyone would be like WTF!! haha. Cheers pal.
I’m really enjoying the videos Rys can you tell me what tippet ye use ? I may as well use this time to say I bought the stillmanic rod after your review I used it today and you weren’t lying it’s an absolutely lovely rod I’d also love to see a video on how you have your tackle box / or bag set up sorry if you done a video on it already I’ll look for it if you have thanks again for the fantastic videos
Great videos but do you really need to hold the fish upto the camera best to release in the net and let go....that big fish probably died due to gill damage the it was dragged and hoisted up to the camera
Thankfully the same fish has been caught 3 times since this capture by other anglers. So suffice to say it lived and is feeding well. Fish care remains an important part of our day to day angling and whilst everyone will have differing opinions about where to draw the line, we're comfortable and so is the fishery owner with the care given to these fish upon capture. thanks!
although i do enjoy people catching fish some advice on how you fished the water, your set up where you were would be helpfull. its just a guy catching fish after fish. i want to learn something from you fishing expeditions. sorry but perhaps its just me. still nice to watch though
Excited to hear what you thought of this edit! - Let me know in the comments section below
Hi Rhys

What kind of spacing do you have between your buzzers?
Great question. Usually 6ft between each on a 3 fly cast. You can scale this down to 4 or 5 if casting or wind is an issue.
@@RhysFishes cheers Rhys
Fantastic video.. where is that fisherry
garnffrwd, south wales
@@RhysFishes thank you. I will look for a overnight stay. I live near Manchester airport. Thanks again . Paul
