This fishery fishes really well to straight lined nymphs or washing line style methods. More so than buzzers under a bung. It’s not to say it doesn’t work, but generally we’ll fish whatever will bring us the most sport that day. On this day we found the washing line worked with cormorants or the bung with winter style flies. Ultimately it’s less of a choice of the angler for us and more a case of understanding what the fish will respond to most and then adapting the method to suit. 👍
Great video again Rhys. If you are fishing using a bung tied onto a dropper how do you change the depth to the first fly. I use a bung that can slide up or down the line depending on depth of fish. I would like to use bungs with hooks as I often get the fish go for the bung and so miss them. Do you tie on droppers at various depths?
Generally, you can’t change depth. (You can if you ad 2 droppers and just change the bung between droppers but it can overcomplicate things). General rule, find the depth using a sliding bung then switch across to a static bung
Epic Video as usual, Rhy. By the way, my floating lines from the Newhaylie arrived. I tested them out Saturday. They cast a dream and fly off the reel. £18 with delivery. You cannot grumble. Amongst the best lines I’ve used to be honest. Thanks for the recommendation.
@@RhysFishes I am certainly not asking you to change it. I also make videos and like feedback. You at least know why I did not watch your video. I totally respect your creative decision. Best wishes.
Great to see your Dad back on the Channel!
He's no good behind a camera, I can promise you that!

Great video as usual Rhys. One of your old haunts New Howwood up in Scotland is fishing well at the moment. Fish are in fantastic condition

Thanks, Rhys!
What reservoir was that, quite productive.....🙂👍
Clywedog trout fishery
Hi Rhys in your opinion how would you go about setting up to tackle char and browns in natural lakes flies and setup.
In the UK nick?
Thanks for the video. Why do you choose to use blobs rather than buzzers or other naturals from a bung? Not a method that I've ever used...

Great video as alway
Can the bung be fished from the shore using the same flies? For example bung dialbach - blob? Or worm fly?
Yes it can, I'd argue it fishes better from the shore than the boat most times.
Great video mate. 👍🎣
Excellent video Rhys. Only you have the ability to make Jeremy seem like Clint Eastwood of the fishing world! Spot on music and editing 👍
😂😂
Great video….whitch floating line do you recommend,DT or WF?
WF, very few reasons not to choose a WF with how far the technology has come on them.
Videos are deadly rhys great insight what's your go to litre / tippet when your fishing drys .. there boiling on it but just not committing to it?
Ps had a go at the red app on sat few takes decided to put a maggot on the point and an hell kicked off
Maggot flies? Are they allowed? 😂. Dry fly fishing with a single fly I generally fish Rio Fluorflex 5lb
@@RhysFishes perfect bud cheers.. maggot is a handy option lol

Max catch?
Glad you like them!
The rede River line is good and cheap also and for a cheap sinking line I like wychwood.
@@brianr9529 bestcity the brand is I think.
@@CBCB78 thanks
Great video! Do you do this with a drogue or do you anchor up?
With a drogue. Most welsh waters don't have anchors thankfully.
Great video, good details on set up,were do you get those bungs??
I got mine from fario fly mate you'll find them there
Fario Fly James
How things ? A quick question do you fish 1 fly under the bung or 2 or 3 flies
04:28
2 flies under the bung at that point
But then later on, only 1 fly
2 flies in this video :)
So your fishing 2 flies . What distance to the dropper and roughly what length of topper?
@@nwest-trailzscotland5699 2ft and 5ft
If it's 2 flys what kind ? And if you fish an egg fly do you fish a single
We miss your videos brother
I’ll be back
why do you put music with the video? I don't hear music when I fish!
Creative decision. Don’t intend to change it 👍
