Hey Rhys, love the drone footage and the educational nature of your content. Last year I was fishing and averaged 1.3 fish per ten outings. This year I’ve been out 3 times in the past 3 weeks and my average is at 5 fish per trip. Cloudy water, lure, nymph and indeed anything you have shared has helped me catch more and enjoy my time on the water. The camera and edit on this is top drawer. Thanks
Yea. All river fishing in the UK is owned by clubs and for some clubs it's impossible to obtain a membership due to limited numbers. As a result, put and take or catch and release lakes like this form a large population of the trout fishing UK anglers do.
Great informative video as usual mate and some good content👍👍 I love it when you can see the takes...only ever caught 1 fish on a dry fly so...hopefully get some more as spring kicks in 👍👍
Hi Rhys. Very much enjoyed viewing your video. I love dry fly fishing above all else & try to use this method as much as is possible. What I’d like to say is how impressed I am with your double haul casting. Some anglers that I have viewed, good as they are, it makes me think of them hammering a nail into a wall, you seem to cast so elegantly. Thanks for all of the tips & tight lines to you. Derick.
Great tips thank you im a welshmen from Neath but live in the Highlands of scotland for the last 21yrs im fishing for wild brownies no luck with the buzzers and dries yet i think its a wee bit to early or its my skills lol great vid keep up the good work CYMRU AM BYTH
Was there Monday too. Caught well on a black and gold humongous. My mate caught an 11 lb Rainbow, also on a black and gold humongous . I have a feeling you would have caught with anything on Monday though!
In a few of the shots there it looked like you were using 2 dries, what sizes would you use when fishing 2? Would it be a bigger one on the point or both the same? Also good choice in music in the last 2 vids.
Thanks Rhys, another most enjoyable video! Did I understand you to say the leader is fleuro all the way to the fly or is there a terminal poly section of tippet?
For this video i fished with copolymer initially then switched to fluorocarbon. I'd usually pair that with a 9ft shop bought tapered leader (any brand will suffice)
Llyn Brenig reservoir in North Wales is still not open for fishing saying they dont have permission from welsh govt and it may be end of April before they get it...bit weird when other local reservoirs are open. They are open for walkers and cyclists but not anglers. In previous restrictions last year they at least had local anglers booking online..... anyone with more info...?
I have caught more fish in the last few weeks watching these videos than in the rest of my life...brilliant, and thank you!
Same with me
Another superb video Rhys. I can watch and listen for hours.
That’s kind, thank you

are these ponds specifically built for fishing in UK ?
Yea. All river fishing in the UK is owned by clubs and for some clubs it's impossible to obtain a membership due to limited numbers. As a result, put and take or catch and release lakes like this form a large population of the trout fishing UK anglers do.
@@RhysFishes Damnn that doesn’t sounds fun at all I’m glad I’m Canada people can’t own public rivers

That's a good friend of ours and he probably caught just as many 👍
What is the dry fly leader set up
Hi Rhys, whats the name of this fishery please?.
Garnffrwd trout fishery 🙂
Great videos👌🏻 what’s the name of this fishery?
Garnffrwd
The guy on the end of the platform..... I will have a wee glimpse round to see what Rhys is fishing on ;)

High Rhys great video, how many cdc feathers do you need to float those emergers you were using?
4 or 5
@@RhysFishes
Is that on a size 12 ?looks like a size 12 on my phone

Just 1 dry rhys, i rarely fish 2 on a small stillwater at the risk of breaksoffs. If i were fishing two i'd keep them relatively small
what weight line do you use
7wt
What rod did you use for the dry fly the 6 or 7 wt ?
The 6wt.
Very enjoyable video again thank you, can I ask do you use a liquid or powder flotant on your dry flies ?
Gink initially and then loon powder to redry the fly after a fish (amadou would achieve a similar position on the fly)
@@RhysFishes thank you very much I will try this at the weekend

Hi Rhys quality as usual... just wondering if you will be going out fly fishing for bass again this year?
Once the numbers of fish begin to show, i hope to do some more.👍
Brilliant Rhys can’t wait for that one.🎣👍
Good fishing ! Good rest ! Thank you from Russia !
Could you show how to degrease the leader
Nice but its going to change deck zone fishing for the next two weeks cold weather on its way no spring as yet lol
What knot is used on your Dry Fly?
Double davey
Were you on the phone whilst catching one of those fish?
You were the first to notice 😂. Jeremy called at the wrong time!
@@RhysFishes i had something similar happen, unfortunately there was a 'splosh' sound shortly afterwards!

If it’s not dry it’s not fly 👍☀️☀️☀️
200 likes no dislikes
Not a fan of the dry fly, but theres no better sound in fly fishing when that line rips off the surface
