      At the very least they should tell the public so they can get free food. Seems like a big waste to just drain a lake and let the fish die.

      It b.s. honestly I have respect for law enforcment but I know for a fact there are some hardcore poachers killing 20 plus deer and elk a year, similiar deal with wild salmon and selling it black market, and theyve gotten away with it for years. Game wardens worry too much with the petty crap like checking licenses at the stocked trout pond during the trout derby.

Don't worry about concerving game fish that we produce by the billions in the USA and fill water artificially until we are happy with the fiahing. We can never be 100% of what anything other than a human feels, dogs and cats and chickens etc we are all only 99.9% sure of feeling pain. The way though a fish will behave when injured suggests pain, they are less likely to avoid dangerous things even when slights injured, this is due to being preoccupied with the pain. betting it died - maybe getting beat up through spillway or low oxygen - then "beached" when the initial surge of water from opening spillway receded.
      You could see flattened grass where he was walking. So, either others fishing or water flattened that grass.
      Nobody would just leave a fish like that.

    It really pisses me off as a fisherman that all these fish had to die, its very sad and disappointing.

    it was so sad all the died fish, and there lot more lake going dry. if we dont get more rain and snow this winter where going have to lake up another sport and that will be very sad. keep up the videos.

  • @garylostinspace8500
    @garylostinspace8500 3 роки тому +3

    That has got to be the saddest, most wasteful and great loss to any and all anglers. In hind site that record trout could have died from not getting enough oxygen as murky as the water appeared and as large as that beauty was, very sad waste.

    I remember her in PA a hatchery broke open from high water in the winter. All the fish went into a big local creek. Well the first day of trout season I caught a 27 inch rainbow rhat was about 12 pounds. Idk it even lived in that creek. Never got it mounted tho because it was a hatchery breeder.

    I love your channel I just want to let you know as a Ranger for 13 years and Jedediah Smith Park in Northern California when we find a dead fish we leave them by the bank so it doesn’t get bacteria in the water and create a toxic environment for young fry trying to survive it’s better for her to compass on the side and feed the Treez and then to let bad bacteria become Waterbourne

    Horrible how things like this happens ! Sad news is after lake is drained the creek will have less water and no fish ! Big thumbs-up down on draining the lake ! You done a great service for filming the devastating effects on it . It makes people aware of what really happens when you decide to drain lakes .

    Why do you suppose those trout were high and dry on the bank? We ran across some huge browns like that in the Eastern Sierras, but they had claw marks and their heads were chewed off. Locals said the bears only eat the heads when times are good because of the nutrients. When times are bad they’ll eat everything.
    I’m just going to say, the coyotes, skunks and raccoons gotta eat too.
    Cool video and love your enthusiasm.

    Perhaps the river had a big surge of water when the lake was initially drained, causing it to flood briefly, and then drain quickly, leaving a bunch of fish stranded along the edge of the bed.
